finemocha she has a job of course she can leave but she wants to have another baby with this man so leave her to it. I no longer associate with her because she makes me too angry.

FoodRe: Can Nigerian Men Cook? by Leilah(f): 6:56pm On Jul 31, 2007
Well my husband can only cook noodles and even when he does that (when Im out) they are moulded into the pot at the end. I just wonder how he would manage if he had to live alone shocked

I was so eager to learn how to cook all the naija recipes although I can cook middle eastern dishes and western. I had to resort to the back of maggi packs and the internet now I'm a killer culinare. It is annoying in the sense that he cannot make a sandwich for his lunch at work. I just love cooking and I knew many men that did but they were not naija men so dunno really.

One day on his way home I asked him to pick up a bag of hot peppers in the african foodstore and guess what he came back with? one big red bell pepper!!!!! another day he used bean flour for his fufu and wondered what was going on. I had to explain to him to leave the kitchen that in future I will make him his fufu also. embarassed

FamilyRe: Female In Interracial Marriage Or Relationship Meet Others For Friendships! by Leilah(f): 7:18pm On Jul 30, 2007
Hey well I really enjoyed my trip. Thankfully I can understand a lot about the culture mainly due to my work experience in human rights and different cultures. However, there has been quite a few instances where something would come up and I got confused but I picked up on it, interpreted it, compromised and put it into practice. I have been the one to address and deal with the cultural differences he is quite laid back about it. I suppose thats good I guess becuase he is not a judgemental person. Just a bit lazy sometimes though cheesy its all good though for now and hopefully that will be forever.
FoodRe: White Girls And Fufu by Leilah(f): 7:09pm On Jul 30, 2007
when I first tasted that stuff damn i fell in love with fufu and soups that I HAD to learn how to make them. My husband had not got a clue so I actually learned off the back of the maggi pack together with the net and its has been so worth it. The spicier the better. i fell in love with those hot hot peppers I tried to grow plants a few times!
FamilyRe: Conceiving by Leilah(op): 7:07pm On Jul 18, 2007
laudete, the thing is she is not fat. She is a size 14 but she is very tall so she doesn't look fat at all. Sure even if she was think in which she used to be like a size 8 he would be still cheatin on her. I'm not having anymore to do with it. i told her. If he calls you these names to your face well then what else is he capable of. She just goes on and accepts her abusive hubby, things will never change she is too sensitive.
FamilyRe: Female In Interracial Marriage Or Relationship Meet Others For Friendships! by Leilah(f): 6:58pm On Jul 18, 2007
yes, I would. I am married to a very good man from Nigeria, we have one child. We went to Nigeria last year and it was very nice. It really opened my mind to a lot of things and thankfully gave me a more positive outlook.

FamilyRe: How To Divorce My Nigerian Husband? by Leilah(op): 4:22pm On Jul 13, 2007
Thank you all for your kind replies it has really helped. Basically there aint no point in me complaining. I have concluded that I love this person with all my heart (which I REALLY DO) I am not used to being a full time housewife and full time employee that does not get clothes bought for her cheesy

yes, ngozie this ngozie that I have wrecked everyones head but the reason why I said that word so many times is because they are the mules of the world, what man wouldn't want them eh?. Howver with all my empathy and understanding I will play a similar role with a view to making everything work.
FamilyRe: How To Divorce My Nigerian Husband? by Leilah(op): 4:14pm On Jul 13, 2007
You see men, I'm not seeking out a divorce but I think the expectations that some men have of their full time working, studying and mothering wife. What about taking your cup up tp the sink and LEAVING IT IN THE SINK. I am not asking him to cook but notbeing able to lift a cup huhthats just annoying that is. Not only that how about getting up in the mornings to find his empty beer cans on the floor. I do all the cooking and cleaning I expected some appreciation especially that I buy my own clothes!!! call me all the names you like. I would accept this if I was a housewife thats not working. I called myself a housewife becuase thats what I am also. A FULLTIME EMPLOYEE AND FULL TIME HOUSEWIFE. I just have to accept its always gonna be this way. See it how you like. Am I not supposed to get tired. huh
FamilyWhat Is The Defiinitoin Of A Nagging Wife In Naija Terms? by Leilah(op): 10:57pm On Jul 10, 2007

FamilyRe: Having 2 Seperate Families by Leilah(f): 9:27pm On Jul 10, 2007
Thats a possibility when it comes to immigrants no matter where in the world they are from. Jus don't understand how she didn't cop on. I remember once about five years ago I was love with this really handsome egyptian man who was taking me to Egypt to meet his family, I went to the Egyptian embassy to get a visa and they informed me that he is already married with a child and a wife obviously! I was damn lucky!!!!
RomanceRe: Why Do Girls Go After Married Men? by Leilah(f): 9:19pm On Jul 10, 2007
Women are just looking for someone to hook up with I think. Its in their nature to get attention from men whether they are married or not. Poverty also plays a big part in it.

@eiregal. yeah thats true but its not the topic. We all know that. We know what little thing gets out of control at the touch of a button but the fact still remains,

women just want someone to hook up with, they then fall in love way too quick hoping to get rid of wifey.
FamilyRe: Conceiving by Leilah(op): 9:14pm On Jul 10, 2007
@maneater is that true? would the mother do that? on a more serious note, does every naija lady expect and accept it that her husband may cheat on her? (if it were to happen say)
FamilyRe: Conceiving by Leilah(op): 9:09pm On Jul 10, 2007
Yeah I guess he is kula, imagine having to bite the towel in the toilet so he would not hear you cry! I just know she is going to get pregnant again and put on more weight imagine what he would say then!!
FamilyRe: How To Divorce My Nigerian Husband? by Leilah(op): 9:04pm On Jul 10, 2007
@bluesky we were together for a year and a half b4 we married although he didn't have papers when I married him. He had a student/study visa in which time spent here is not taken into consideration when it comes to citizenship. However, he waited that year and a half when he could have easily found someone else. Thankfully, he chose me and took me to Nigeria, he could have taken me anywhere to marry me I guess somewhere cheaper with less affort but I gotta be grateful in the sense that I was brought there. My lack of confidence makes me look ungrateful I guess.

FamilyRe: Conceiving by Leilah(op): 8:56pm On Jul 10, 2007
i really don't understand why she allows these things. She is not even fat she is about a size 14 and very very tall which obviously helps.
FamilyRe: Conceiving by Leilah(op): 8:54pm On Jul 10, 2007
He really does call her a fat cow, takes her wages and abuses her. All she is worried about is that she has not conceived yet nothing else really seems to bother her. She also knows he cheats on her ass. is that really true that if the wife is fat he will look for a younger prettier lady?
FamilyConceiving by Leilah(op): 12:11am On Jul 10, 2007
Someone I know has been trying to conceive for quite some time now about a year thereabouts. This particular family have one child of six years already. Meanwhile her hubby calls her a fat cow that cannot have babies, the lady cries her eyes out at work and told her brother about it. Sorry I am interested to know how this is handled in Nigerian culture.
