Well those in the know say that as at this morning, names to be axed from Flying Eagles WYC team are Alfa, Leke, Jimoh, Sale, Pyagbara, AlHassan and Success. From this, we can assume that Nwakali is safe while Muaázam is not.

NFF promises regular courses for Eagles Coaches, Others

https://level3.soccerladuma.net/cms2/image_manager/uploads/News/209025/7/default.jpg

The Nigeria Football Federation has affirmed that it will make necessary efforts to ensure that coaching courses are much more regular in the country, in order for the country to boast of enough trained coaches within the next couple of years.

NFF 1st Vice President, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi made this pledge on behalf of the NFF President, Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick, at the opening ceremony of the CAF –C License Coaching Course in Abuja on Tuesday.

“This NFF administration is committed to fostering rapid development of all areas of the Nigeria game, be it refereeing, coaching or administration. We have taken a number of steps to enhance the capacity of referees, and we have also taken a number of coaches to capacity –building programmes in the United Kingdom.

“Let me make it clear that we are committed to ensuring that our country has thousands of trained coaches within the next couple of years. We will make coaching courses more regular and of course, the training can be doned simultaneously, in such a way that as we are here having one in Abuja, we can be having similar courses in Kaduna, Lagos, Enugu and wherever.”

Also at the opening ceremony were vice chairman of the NFF Technical and Development Committee, Alhaji Yusuf Ahmed Fresh, NFF Executive Committee member Ahmad Muazu Kawu and NFF Deputy General Secretary Emmanuel Ikpeme.

Over 80 coaches are attending the two –week course, holding at the FIFA Technical Centre, Package B of the National Stadium, Abuja. Former Super Eagles’ Coach and ex-FIFA Technical Advisor Adegboye Onigbinde, one-time NFF Technical Director Kashimawo Laloko, former Eagles’ Coach James Peters and in-coming NFF Technical Director Shuaibu Amodu are among instructors at the programme.

FIFA Technical Advisor (Refereeing) Linus Mba, former NFF General Secretary and CAF instructor Bolaji Ojo-Oba, Director of Sports Medicine at the National Sports Commission Abdulkadir Muazu and NFF Deputy General Secretary Emmanuel Ikpeme will speak on refereeing, administration, sports medicine and psychology respectively.

All participants will undertake practical and theory examinations at the close of the course. The NFF held a first-ever CAF C-License coaching course between September and October 2011, and followed up with a second one in April 2014. The Federation also organized two CAF B-License programmes in March 2012 and September 2012.

Former international players Bright Omokaro, Ishaya Jatau, Mike Onyemachara, Hussein Alabi, Haruna Hadi, Edith Agoye, Jimoh ‘Tyson’ Balogun and Akin Olowookere are among those taking the course.
Impressive move by the Nff ....but when I looked at the names of instructors I felt disappointed .why do we need calibers of oldskool coaches without any success to show for it? Pls Nff should make amends , we need foreign instructors with wealth of experience ,otherwise it will be a back to square one project .

Awoniyi bagged a hat trick, Simon and Ezeh got a goal each. .
@Daninya11 . Your question has been answered without mincing words .if u want to go by the result of d friendly and d result of the competition played by the boys . U shld have your straight answer by now . Go ahead to make another thread .who shld be Awoniyis substitute? Anyways that's Manus headache , by now he knows who carries the mantle.

Finally! That spambot banned me since so I couldn't celebrate with Awoniyi my loff on his hat-trick angry....anyway, now that I'm free....

I'm highly impressed with the striking force. We have to remember that this team has never really had a strong defence, we menntioned this during the U-17 world cup. They thrive onn early goals to psychologically weaken their opponents.

Apparently, that hasn't changed. I do agree that we need to tighten the defence, hopefully we can do that before the tournament. I doubt the Brazilians will pity a weak defence.

That being said, this Saviour dude may just be the wildcard to replace Isaac on the bench....if we have Moses, Awoniyi and even Kelechi (as a false 9) we may not really need him
Our defense line seems to be shaky without Ndidi , Manu needs to work on that so that we can have a decent World Cup without conceiving too many goals and putting the team under pressure .

It doesn't matter who starts, It is good to have one of them on the bench to replace if needed... We can't play Awoniyi 90 mins in all games...
We need another potent striker but we have Godwin , also Muazu , chidera and d rest of them ....Manu will solve that puzzle .

Despite the interesting news of Godwin Saviour's improvement in the camp of the Flying Eagles, I believe when Nacho arrives the Flying Eagles Camp, his form will impress the Flying Eagles coaches.

I tip Nacho to become the standout player of the World Cup.

I feel this is the most talented side we have ever assembled for the Country. The stars are numerous. It is sat my best player of the AYC, Obinna Nwobodo will not take part in this competition.

Fly Eagles Fly.
You are very correct , even the 2005 wasn't this star studded ! Manu has really worked to discover them .Nigeria is blessed .

With this kind of decision from Granada it is very obvious that success will not make the team .unless Manu wants to be biased and this will be a bad omen for other of the team mate . Also in the aspect of team rhythm His inclusion may not be too good if he comes late , although he has been part of the team since under 17 , but this is entirely a different team in terms of professionalism and maturity . Manu Garba should be looking in another direction for someone that will fill his gap . (If there is any gap) . Nff should report Granada to fifa .

if those U-20 boys are going to the Dream Team Sia1 bettter know that he's gonna either lose his job or get demoted.

As for Keshi that's forming bad guy P there, he is also sitting on a time bomb, soon, Manu will take his job too and he'll be released.

Wherever those boys go, Manu goes. We don't need all these washed up coaches ruining Manu's hard work. Siasia should be ashamed that it took Awoniyi coming in to help his team of useless Senior citizens qualify for AAG. I hope he's working on those ancient men instead of waiting for the U-20 WC to finish so he can snatch up some of those kids
I am also thinking in that direction too ....but Manu is good at scouting young talents ,who will handle the next under 20 team ? Manu's success at the World Cup will put a lot of pressure on Keshi ,don't u think so?
Sports › Re: Flying Eagles of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (New Zealand 2015) by lexyman(m):

He is impressed with the performances of rookies.
Keshi is sentimental and biased in team selection.
I was thinking the pinnick led NFF will handle the Super Eagles to an interim coach say, Amodu Shuaibu. Then after the world cup, elevate Manu and Ugbade as handlers for the Super Eagles coaches.
I thought the job should be given to coaches that have done well for Nigeria and as it stands, Manu Garba has played in 5 tournament final with 4 trophies. ..
I still insist that Keshi contract should be revoked. if he assemble a bunch of rookies and beat Chad, he will start babbling kabash. he keeps relying on players firing blanks in their clubs. .
Let's wait till after the World Cup a step shld be taken one after the other.

Siasia Impressed By The Flying Eagles

https://level3.soccerladuma.net/cms2/image_manager/uploads/News/209217/7/default.jpg

Dream Team VI Coach, Samson Siasia has confirmed that he will elevate most of the U20 players to the U23 sqaud, after the FIFA U20 World Cup.

Siasia, himself a former Flying Eagles coach, says he will keep a keen eye on the team and adds that he will be following their progress in New Zealand.

“They are in my plans of course,” he told sl10.ng in an interview.

“I will watch their games at the U20 World Cup and the best of them will join us when they’re done.

“It’s natural for them to progress from the U20 to the U23. Remember I did it too when I was the U20 coach and later the U23 coach.

“It’s a Nigerian team and not a Siasia team. If we think anybody is good enough, we will bring them in but the U20 boys are definitely in my plans.”

Speaking further, the former Super Eagles coach also admits that he has been impressed by the team.

“Of course I am. Who doesn’t like good things? We brought Taiwo (Awoniyi) in before our last game against Zambia, he came in and scored two goals for us so I have to be impressed,” he concludes.
Someone been very factual here . Nice one sia1 . Keshi keep saying if they impress him .
Manu says he has final World Cup squad

https://africanfootball.com/bp_images/2015/05/Samm_7_May_4.jpg

Flying Eagles coach Manu Garba has disclosed he has a clear idea of the 21 players he will take to the U20 World Cup in New Zealand later this month.

“I am fully clear on my final squad for the World Cup, but that is not to say there could not be one or two gate crashers,” said Manu

Nigeria will submit a final 21-man squad on Friday, May 15, to FIFA.

Genk defender Wilfred Ndidi is expected to join up with the rest of the squad on Monday, while three other Europe-based stars – Isaac Success, Kelechi Iheanacho and Moses Simon – are still being awaited.

The Flying Eagles have been training in Nurnberg, Germany, for a week now.

They will play their first test match in Germany against Hoffenheim U23 team on Tuesday afternoon.

Manu is working ! But he's indirectly telling us that the likes of iheanacho , success and Ndidi are very important to the team , he will tolerate the lateness to camp . I know it wasn't their making, but the club commitment .

Keshi to me is a master of deceit. He says the boys must prove themselves. I say the boys have nothing to prove. The home based players he calls and tells the boys to prove themselves to have being beaten blue black in the Super 6 tournament by the U-20 team.

Keshi needs to stop underrating himself. He's been offered a second chance. I hope he does not squander it.
Pinnick is smart enough , he sees the weakness in him and he has a program to enroll him in coaching academy , I think this will help his decision making when it comes to player selection based on performance merit ....not by size and maturity .
Super eagles needs younger blood in that team . And the young blood are the present flying eagles , they shld graduate them to d super eagles after the wold cup . It's very simple.

I think we still need to come back to Keshi's comment . He shld stop deceiving himself , this guys doesn't need to prove anything again to him , they are ready to be part of the super eagles, all he need now is to catch them now and they he shld keep grooming them to work together .

I love your line of thought sir.
In a thread opened by safarigirl last week we trashed the issue on the actual position that he play.
No doubts he is a great finisher but his primary role is not that of a arrow man head in attack. Their is no way that manu Garba will make Kelechi lead his attack when he has quality array of strikers to pick from.. the dude should attack from midfield.
No doubts one day he can become a top attacker as the man city coaches want him to be. What do you think sir? ?
Mancity is only preparing kelechi for the future in an alternative role , naturally he is an attacking midfielder that has eye for goals .manu nurtured him from the tender age to become that present finisher he's today .The best position I will suggest for him is to play a free role , that will bring out the best in him . I will go with d way Manu has been using him so far .
