Ok. If you say so. I disagree though. If you really believe all what you wrote is the reality for ALL women then I rest my case. lilwetdick: society has not been protecting men..men have been building society and protecting women from wars and many ills in history even till now
the reality of life..it is a hard world for men, a very easy world for women who dont have to prove anything but still survive and eat well
a woman can decide not to work and still survive, a man, it is just imposiblle, nobody is going to hear his pains when things go wrong, so how is society protecting men |

I see you are moving the goal post. You do know not all countries allow women to be soldiers? NO all women don’t have equal opportunities. White women started feminism but the movement crossed the Atlantic and some women in different cultures started theirs. How do you think women in other parts of the world got this equal opportunity you speak of? Even Nigeria had their own feminists that fought for some rights for Nigerian women. As a black woman, I understand the intersectionality of gender and race discrimination and I can fight both, it doesn’t have to be one or the other. I can walk and chew gum. lilwetdick: if you say there are female solders already..so i do not see the discrimination if they are solders already
with all you mention and the examples you gave, it shows there is already equal opportunities for women, as you wrote everything boil down to choice, even with choice, women are still not going to field where men dominate, likewise men arent going to fields where women dominate, there is a reason while 90% of engineers are male and 90% of females are teachers even with the equal opportunities laws in many western countries.
If you say women of other races are fighting for their own..in what society, is it in the western world, where they themselves are looked down on, how many black women ceos do we have in the western world compare to white female ceo, how many black women are employed, how many black women have their own businesses compared to white women? why is it that white women are top of the hierarchy in western society before a black man or a black women..so do you think the race with the power will just give up their power to allow minorities control them..that is not possible,in my opinion feminism is just a white women political movement nothing more than that and it will always benefit the white ruling class not the average minority janet on the street. |

Ok. I agree though but we are talking about feminism, the rights of women in a society. I am sure most feminists have men in their lives that they love and respect. Society has been protecting men since the world was created, we just started asking society to protect us like it did/does men. Men will be fine, they don’t need my protection. It’s just like telling a black man fighting for civil rights to also fight for the rights of a white man. Michellekabod2: My dear, not all feminists are like you or me, they are several that are hypocrites...fact! Alot of feminist wannabes cherry pick... I also tag males sexist and misogynist, tackled many of them on this forum , so don't make it feel like am against them.... The definition of feminism is equality of both genders It ought to protect both genders but you only focusing on protecting females... The males ought to be protected as well, else it's cherrypicking... |

Yeah white women fought for their rights now women of other races are starting to. When women have rights in Saudi Arabia it is a Saudi Arabian woman that will enjoy it. So you missed the entire point of my posts, which was CHOICE! I said we should fight for a society where a woman’s choice is validated. There are female soldiers fighting in war fronts right now, that’s their choice and they should be given equal opportunities to become soldiers. There are men that don’t want to fight in Sambisa forests too. If a woman wants to be a soldier or a sniper and she has the skills to do it, yes! She should have the opportunity to do so. There are no consequences to equal opportunities. Equal opportunity means that if someone has made a CHOICE to do something then she should have the same access to opportunities that a man would. Simple. lilwetdick: western women, you mean WHITE WOMEN, go and check history of all the fight black people fought in the US, from the civil rights to affirmative actions, who are benefiting from it...is it not WHITE WOMEN, they say EQUAL representation in work places, what they meant was WHITE WOMEN NEED TO BE IN THE WORK PLACES FIRST before any other race,if you think you are fighting for your equal rights wait for the end and see who enjoys all the benefit, not you BLACK WOMEN but WHITE WOMEN
in my second paragraph, i meant if you want equal opportunities which you claimed there arent, you must be ready to bear the consequences of equal opportunities, for example if 20 solders are going to sambisa to fight BK, they must be equal 10 men and 10 women and they must be able to bear the consequences of death. |

She slapped someone and the guy defended himself, end of. People just want to tie everything to feminism so they can have their gotcha moment and say “feminists are hypocrites” Nobody is cherry picking anything, women will do whatever the hell they want to do and fight for the right to do that. Michellekabod2: That's my problem with naija feminiy, they wanna eat their cake and have it,they cherrypick alot....many people cry feminism, many wannabe feminist that understand nothing about feminism but see it as an escape route,.... Michellekabod2: I am proudly a feminist, yes! The only threat some daft dudes(especially Nairaland guys) use against us is that we will not get married.... First, that is a wrong notion. Second, assuming that is true and girls decide not to marry for the sake of feminism, they will still sham us like it's compulsory to be married. Guys have a way of determining what is good for themselves and taking charge of their lives and at the same time they don't want ladies to determine what is good for themselves and to take charge of their lives; they want to control their lives and ladies lives. They set up a tribunal to decide what is acceptable for a lady. You see guys getting offended when ladies specifically state they will not settle for a guy who isn't rich. But they themselves will proudly say they will not marry non virgins. Humans are entitled to what they want. A guy can give his list of requirements from a lady before marriage: beautiful, tall, fair, virgin, industrious, excellent cook, respectful et al. But when a girl gives her list: handsome, rich, tall et Al ,you hear people saying "ah! You will remain single then!".
Ok, enough blaming of a guy..ladies aren't clean as well... Ladies feel they can eat their cake and have it,they cherrypick alot.... When feminism suits them they cling to it,and when it's against their favor they cry foul. That is why you find many wannabe feminist crying "we are ladies na" when it comes to financial contributions!.
If you are taking up feminism, take the pros and cons .... no cherrypicking!
Let me show you what feminism is:
1) The word "fat" should not be used on only ladies, the "watch it on, you are adding weight o" should not be used on only ladies. 2) Except your date offers to foot the bills, you should split the bills on outings, movies and dinners. He pays for his,you pay for yours! 3) if a lady slaps a man in public, he has all right to slap back without anyone saying "you aren't supposed to hit a woman no matter what".... Isn't it equality you want? 4) it's not her duty to clean your house or cook for you when she visits, except she doesn't it voluntarily. 5) it's not your duty to send her money except voluntarily. 6) the "sleeping around" tags should not be used for females only. Any guy who fuucks ladies is a h0e as well... 7) if your lady ever hits you, you are in an abusive relationship, flee! You are been abused!
if a lady ever gropes your manhood or nipples without your consent, you are sexually abused! Take the case up for molestation! You shouldn't be grateful for been exploited sexually....act the way she will act if the reverse were the case. 9)what she wants to drink ain't your business, except off course you are paying for it. If she wants to drink alcohol, you have no right to sham or tag her... 10) what she does with her body ain't your business! If she has sex, don't tag her cheap because you also don't have respect for your body for giving it out to a lady. 11) hygiene is for both genders, i get irritated when I hear people say "she is a lady, why isn't she neat?" 12) when a public vehicle breaks down, both abled males and females should push the vehicle! 13) They say no one can stand a disrespectful lady, but i say no one can stand a disrespectful Human 14) All levys or dues or financial contributions should be equal! Men shouldn't pay more... 15) The tag "broke" shouldn't be used only on guys....they should be "broke girls" as well... Any individual who is financially down is broke! Cc:iamplato, CAPSLOCKED, Martinez39,fuministicqueen,amatarasha,sweetbuns, poccohantas, MJBOLT,amakavula, ilamina, raptex, ubunja, sinaj, cosmicphoenix I disagree. There is nothing like pros and cons in feminism, feminism is just the fight for women’s rights with the belief that men and women are equal. A woman should be able to do whatever she wants with those rights, our fight is not with women but with society to validate those rights. Women are not a monolith. One of the problems the feminist movement have is some ‘feminists’ have decided to shove their choices, rights on other women, to me they are no different than sexist people. A true feminist does not impinge on another woman’s choice. Most women believe that the rights of men shouldn’t be more important or superior to women’s but some will still say they are not feminists because third wave feminists have shamed them for their choices. The goal is to defend the choice of a woman (within the confines of the law) whatever that choice is. A woman can decide to sleep with 100 consensual men and a woman can decide that she wants to be a virgin on her wedding night, both are valid choices and we want to live in a society that validates and respects both choices. Some people just want to derail the feminist movement by always harping on who pays what bills. That has NOTHING to with feminism, that’s a personal choice. I like to pay my own bills, if another woman doesn’t want to and she finds a willing man to do so, that’s her choice. As a feminist I respect her choice, I will have a problem if society favors one choice over another. A feminist can be whatever she wants, she can be a pilot, doctor, housewife, stripper, astronaut. The only person that is not a feminist is someone that believes that a man’s right is superior to a woman’s. I just want to add after my epistle that I absolutely agree with you except the bolded. |

They used to have a huge spread of ‘free’ breakfast, and a chef that would fry your eggs in front of you. Since I was on a tight budget I used to get most of my meals at the ‘free’ breakfast buffet. The hotel is close to the pyramids at Giza, you can walk there.

Really?! The girl WAS rude, simple. Amakavula: The guy started off with too much respect, don't over respectful women, it shows us you lack capacity.
Be bold ( not arrogant ) fearless ( not stupid ) and careless( with subliminal tact ) about chatting with ladies, that shiitt ticks us off with good vibe, shows you are in charge and have capacity.
If I was the guy, I would start off with something, a little negative, have the lady on the defense from the go; then swoop in to save the day ( gets a few laughs too)
Maybe talk about:
You: "..my friend always say ladies on filters are low key scammers ?"
she is curious, asks why, You : " pretty and worwor ones hide behind it," hard to tell which is which.."
she laughs You laugh
You: you know you can't hide forever? She : " that I worwor ? " You: " are you saying you are cos I never concluded ? " Now you have neg her, have her high esteem in check, you can just ignore the conversation and ask other things. It becomes easy for you. ( don't try this with me you will fail , but it works for my Male friends I advised )

Most Nigerian men think the only thing they have to offer a woman is his money. When you base your self worth on how much money you have, when that money is gone or isn’t there, low self esteem sets in. They become paranoid, interpreting every utterance and gesture as being rude. So this woman sacrificed everything to make sure her man succeeds, what did the man offer her? If he didn’t take advantage of her sacrifices, does she have a right to be frustrated? So she sacrificed everything yet he couldn’t even dish his own food? kevin25: My neigbor got married to a woman that is financially and academically ahead of him yes they started with love at initial stage she did everything possible to make sure the man suceed i mean everything she sacrify evrytn kudos to her, but the problem now is how the woman talks to the husband with no atom of respect she goes around telling people what she has done for the man to the extent her friends no longer see the man as anything .. The one that pains me was the day she told the man to go and dish out food for himself even in my presence, wen the man try to force her my dear come see insult from how she feed him to how she made him who he is,just because the man ask her to go and bring his food even dou the man is working now but stil the woman stil look down on him..
