To be fair, there is nothing wrong with being proud/arrogant about one's country status/way of doing thingsrrogant/proud people are notonnoyed and bothered about what makes such people behave in such a manner. Europeans on social media do tackle Americans for the same attitude and point out their failures but both parties can banter between themselves because they are rich. Not a citizen of a futuristic Afghanistan posting crime stats about SA. A Singaporean can mock the US for being unsafe but a Nigerian should not try the same.
This is ridiculous:a Nigerian unabashedly rebuking his compatriots for stating the realities of another African country on a Nigerian forum. Do you realise how absurd you sound? Besides, i'm fully aware of the fact that Nigeria is tilting towards state failure and thus never for once painted it as an utopia as some SA nationalists are exemplifying their country, which is not only self-deceit but delusional.

And yet u clicked on it and typed a long *ss emotional post shocked shocked shocked?
No buddy, i'm not emotional, there is no need to be. However, i still maintain my position that many of the threads created by SA nationalists here on this forum are not only irrelevant but utterly uncalled for. More often than not the intended purpose is neither to educate nor entertain but solely to stir the waters - the threads are designed to provoke bitter rivalry and unhealthy comparisons. Needless to say you and your are like-minds are unneccesarily combative and aggresive towards opposing views which further elucidate my point.

I'm astounded with the level of immaturity and appaling dislay of toxicity in this thread by some SA nationalists and their Nigerian sympathiser, who seems to derive pleasure by fanning the embers of hate and discord - this is a shameful to say the least. For the upteenth time this toxic we vs them mentality you lots are exemplifing here is the main reason forever remain backward and riddled with poverty.

On the flipside, we often observe with dismay how Nigerians are forever putting down South Africans, especially black ones on cyberspace, choosing to stroke balls of white South Africans. We see it everytime virtually on all social media. Maybe just maybe, what you perceive as arrogance from us is a push back from your constant belittling.
Such people are a minority and do not in anyway represent who we truly are as Nigerians, let this sink in for a moment.

Do you know that Finland has the best education in the world according to multiple sources and it's students among the brightest? Ironically,Finnish kids don't start school untill they are 6(prior to this age the emphasis is on play), thus a 9 yr old in grade 2 is uncommon if not the norm. I also know exceptionally smart kids who start school late. So who is dumber here, you or the redpiller?

Food stuff has started coming down in the North.
Mudu of Rice is now about #520 in the village markets.
New maize and Corn is now #250 and #290 respectively.
Fives average sized tubers of Yam that used to be #3,500 is now about #2,000. But a kilo of cow meat is still is till high and btw #1,800-#2000 in most Northern cities.
Local or Foreign rice? Even if it's local it's still outrageous. I could remember less than a decade ago the vast majority of Nigerians shun local rice for obvious reasons, not it's a luxury not everyone can afford. I weap for my people!

It hasn't been easy at all

The first thing I do when I receive salary is to draw up a list of the things I don't have in the house and shop for them first especially foodstuffs because the worst thing that would happen to you is if you're hungry in this kind of economic situation

Then I subscribe for internet and my DSTV to keep me entertained in the house so as to avoid some unnecessary things that would make me peace my house and spend unnecessarily

I try not to carry a lot of cash around so as not to fall into the temptation of unnecessary expenses

Finally, as a single guy, I avoid slay mamas for unnecessary billing or if I can't, I'll just say things to get them upset and not apologising so that the drama will last long

Not to mention that I'm still acquiring skills to help me move out of this country and be useful outside because I can't allow my kids experience what I'mexperiencing
Respect to you baba! our unborn kids don't deserve it.

I often observe with dismay how some SA nationalists arrogantly paint their country so rosy especially on African cyber space as though it's some worldpower while simultaneously looking down at other Africans from less well-off states often in an ignorant and unabashed manner, this behaviour is not only disgusting but sickneing. For a start, a country with 34.4% unemployment rate(highest in the world),deep rooted income inequality, poverty and widespread crime needs deep reflection and introspection. The large-scale riots that rocked parts of SA particularly phoenix in KWZ shows the extent of rot in that country which is alarming. Just before you attack me i'm fully aware of the tragic and terrible state of affairs In my country and i hope things get better for both Nigeria and SA. However, instead of opening irrelevant threads, i suggest you channel your time and expatise on solving the multifaceted crises bedeviling your country, that would be much more profitable and prodtuctive of you and your like-minds.

[quote author=Tenshades post=105557062Blame it on the society we are in.

The analogic old folks and educated illiterates believe you must have grey hair or struggle for ages like your predecessors before you become rich/wealthy legally.

Envy and hate brew in such people when they see a young fella prosper in the society.

They look for ways to bring that person down, spite and badmouth him/her as long as they feel he/she has to reach a 'certain' old age before 'doing well' in life.

Some people will be like 'when dem born am sef wey him don dey get dat kind money?' grin

Same way they believe anyone who doesn't go out in the morning at 4am and comes back at 11pm daily is into fraud.

They are not exposed to the opportunities on the 'net' so they'll find it strange that young professionals like programmers, animators, copywriters, SEO experts, video editors, online tutors, CPA marketers, Crypto/Forex traders amongst oth [\quote]well said.
