These are all facts;

1) Christianity is a foreign religion to Nigeria and it came through the enslavement of Nigerian tribes and colonization of Nigeria.

2) Christianity by far has been the religion with the most amount of blood on it's hands from war to slavery to torture of heretics and crusades/inquisition.

3) The bible is sexist and clearly states that women must be silent in church and must be in submission (1 Corinthians 14:34-35).

4) The bible never condemns slavery. Never. The bible regulates slavery. However, some people in recent times (2000 to present) have tried to remix the bible to condemn slavery in the bible. Plese read the different translations of 1 Timothy 1;10 http://bible.cc/1_timothy/1-10.htm and see how people have tried to remix the bible.

5) The catholic church is the oldest christian denomination of churches to exist. The catholic compiled the bible that Christians use today. Yet, protestants try to distance themselves from the evils of the catholic church (eg cover-ups of pedophilia) while using the bible compiled by catholics.

6) The bible contradicts itself with morals (Sermon on the mount, 10 commandments) while condoning immorality eg regulation of slavery, God ordering Hebrews to commit genocide against Canaanites, sexist statements in the bible etc. Some of these still occurred in the New Testament.

7) The bible promotes bigotry against atheists by claiming that atheists are fools and corrupt. Psalm 14;1. Atheophobia

Jesus treated the Canaanite woman who came for help in a way that could be described as racist/xenophobic- using "dog" as a metaphor for her and telling her that He (Jesus) came for the lost sheep of Isreal. Matthew 15:22-26

9) Many churches in Nigeria have Jesus painted as white. Nigeria is a country that is majorly black. Jesus has little probability of being white considering his heritage and environemnt.

10) Judaism and Christianity were not the first religions on earth. There were Atenism and Zoroastrianism before Judaism.

Matthew 7:23 - Jesus made it clear that there would be many who believed in his name even to the extent of successfully working miracles and casting out demons in his name. Yet he states that of these people he would say "epart from me, i never knew ye". . . What this connotes is that their acknowledgment of his name, acceptance of him as lord, and even investiture with miraculous powers from his name, were all empty and dead in his view if these people could not practice love.

This simply shows that the practice of love is what is far more important and relevant as opposed to merely acknowledging his name, however fervently believed or acknowledged.

Again, here is another scripture which i believe hammers home the point -

Matthew 25:35 - In this scripture Jesus specifically said that even people who did not know him but did loving deeds to other humans were actually doing those deeds to him! Thus this affirms my view that one loves God by loving one's fellow man, for how else will you explain this quote from that scripture -

". . .For i was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, i was thirstily, and you gave me something to drink, i was a stranger, and you invited me in, unclothed and you clothed me, i was sick and you visited me, i was in prison, and you came to me. Then the righteous will answer him and when did we do these things. . . And he responded " truly, to the extent that you did these for even the least of my brothers, you did it for me. . ."

The question of censorship arises whenever things like this happen;

a) Is censorship a good strategy of stopping dissent or blasphemy in this modern era of the internet and the digital world?

-The internet has become a global place where taboos can now be discussed with anonymity
-In Pakistan, the internet users quickly switched from twitter to other private networks to complain about the ban.
-Since the ban was a knee-jerk reaction, the ban was not even effective as people found ways to bypass it and still get on twitter
-A critic of Islam can say that it is unfortunate that Islam has to resort to desperate measures not to be insulted because censoring something can make that very thing even more popular if there is a backlash


b) Does draw Muhammad day deserve the right to exist or not? Should it be censored because of blasphemy?
-Blasphemy laws do not apply in countries that are not religious. Secular countries will only censor something if the government or courts deem it to be libelous/untrue or hate speech.
-However, in a theocracy, blasphemy laws are very active and functional.
-The issue then becomes, how do secular and theocratic countries reconcile this issue as citizens of both types of government meet on the internet?
-Furthermore, Islam has been receiving negative press on its attitude towards unbelievers and skeptics..
