RomanceRe: Is It Possible For A Man To Stay Faithful To One Woman Forever? by LongOne1(m): 4:02pm On May 09, 2011
It is definitely difficult, but I believe with Faith, it is possible and will try to when the time comes.

I know some of my Dad's escapades, he felt he was too sharp and kept on playing till he ended up producing an extra child. Now that he is older and supposed to be relaxing, he still runs about looking haggard and stressed. I am 100% sure I don't want to go down the same way he did. Afterall what's the point? To feed your ego?

Lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, pride of life, many men have fallen because of these three things.
PoliticsRe: Dangote Announces $2m Fellowship For Young Africans by LongOne1(m): 2:55pm On May 09, 2011
Whether he owes Banks money or not at least he is giving back to the society.

How about those who stole and are stacking milions in other peoples countries and helping them develop it in process? It is definitely a commendable gesture.

We need more entrepreneurs, since our leaders can't seem to figure out ways to make people productive.
PoliticsRe: Ribadu Moves To Kabul, Afghanistan To Fight Corruption by LongOne1(m): 2:44pm On May 09, 2011
Of all countries, why Afghanistan?

Wish him good luck though, hope he uses tact and diplomacy when fighting corruption, before he gets blown sky high.
TravelRe: My Biggest Challenge As A Nigerian Living Abroad by LongOne1(m): 3:34pm On Apr 26, 2011
Ezekiel04:
What a very nice topic here. To the author of this topic, let me assure you that you're not the only one experiencing this. 99.9% of those of us abroad experience this on a daily basis. It is so bad that even when i don't have a car of my own in Nigeria, a friend ask me to support him with =N=300,000 to buy a tokunbo car. Another one demanded for a laptop while there are countless of those who requested for money of different sum. The fact is this, many of this dudes asking us for money are even better of at home than we are. For you to know this, you have to go home on vacation and you'll be surprise that while you're still struggling to make ends meet, most of these guys are nearly completing their building project. The belief is that you pick money on street abroad and they're justified to make demands on you. I tell most of them that care to listen that they should do away with the misconception that those abroad are living a life of affluent and consequently they should live their lives like father Xmas. What i do is to do the little i can do when the request seems to be a genuine one and to ignore request when i perceive it to be frivolous. To make things worst, those who are even your family members don't belief you when you tell them the real situation. All they let you realize is how chubby your cheeks are, different from how it was before you left Nigeria. To those who doesn't know how to say no to those friends and relatives, don't be surprise that those same people will make jest of you when you return home with nothing to show for your years abroad. Get wise and plan for your life. Let them abuse and call you names today. They will be the same people who will praise you when you complete that building project of yours.
Word man! I went to Naija last Christmas and saw how some of them are living, yet they still demand from you - GREED.
I consider my immediate family as been the most important, anyone outside takes second place.

Y'all are talking about people asking for money back home, How about some of us that people over here still demand money from us and pass silly comments? Just because we got good jobs?

I have since learn't how to dodge tactfully without offending anyone, life is challenging for everybody, only the wearer knows where the shoe pinches and these London streets ain't paved with Gold.
RomanceRe: Dating Isnt Fair - What Do Women Really Want? by LongOne1(m): 4:23pm On Apr 05, 2011
Yep, I'll go with the money too, it always has a role to play i.e. trips, gifts e.t.c. and can be a great facilitator, but mostly depends on the type of girl u pursuing - top of the list for naija girls in particular.
Met a lot of East African girls, and they different - more about how you spin your game, haven't been totally corrupted yet. With white chicks, it's more of game and looks plus you must make good in the bedroom.

Always choose the right victim though, as we all have different personalities and different preferences, the interesting part is the chase, once she starts falling for you, it gets boring.

With that, happy hunting!
CareerRe: What Is The Best Thing U Like About your Workplace by LongOne1(m): 4:59pm On Oct 29, 2010
Production Engineer responsible for increasing productivity, solving prevailing production problems

1. It's an experience for me to see if its possible to make a lasting difference, as my workplace seems to have been left behind in the 19th century somehow and suffers the ailments of Nigeria i.e. vested interests, selfishness, 'us and them culture', blame culture, procedures that benefit a few at the expense of many e.t.c.

2. A stepping stone just in case all else(1. above) fails

CultureRe: Why Is Nigerian Society So Damn Corrupt? by LongOne1(m): 9:58am On Jul 07, 2008
Yes, and i think we need to concerntrate on developing ourselves too, so that when we reach those positions we wont go the same way and make the same mistakes our present leaders are making.

Bottomline, the change should start from our generation, particularly as we are quick to point fingers and hands at the people in government. We should collectively concerntrate on making changes, but, is it as easy as it sounds?

PhonesRe: Nokia N-Series Zone: For Users And Lovers by LongOne1(m): 8:01pm On Feb 07, 2008
@funkybaby

Which is better to use? ebay or amazon.co.uk, i saw an offer for an item there n i'm still new to buying stuff on

line ( havent stayed too long in the uk) so am a bit sceptical about it. Will it be actually delivered to my doorstep n is it safe

to reveal my card details? And speaking of fones N82 is better than N95 8GB 'cos it has zenon flash and all

the other features like GPS, Wifi, 5 Mega Pixel, but hell of a lot uglier.

@ babeelove, hope i didnt touch a raw nerve, sure i can vouch for marriage but for relationships with sex, and prostitution, whats the difference. Prostituition is still a form of relationship, though a business one, cos a prostitute can still turn u down.
