Lack of valuable knowledge and misinformation. |
AnonyNymous:Succinctly stated. |
Such can only be expected where politics of principle and conviction exist. So far, what's in place in the country is politics of expediency. The country is in dire need of a good number of conscientious - or at least non-conformist - people in the political sphere in order to experience politics of principle and conviction. . . And by extension a turn around of the country's fortune. |
Conceit remains God's gift to small-minded people. He's simply being conceited. Well, he may know music better than Wizkid and his ilk - opinion is a product of free will and free will is a right not privilege, so he's entitled to his - but he sure doesn't understand it better than them. Understanding will always remain superior to knowingness. . . Wizkid's productiveness compared to his (OP) stagnation is a testament to this postulation. Those who've understanding know that opportunity abounds everywhere, therefore, they create it at will with effort of course. While those who know but don't understand usually wait for an opportunity to come their way; here are the propagators of the false doctrine "opportunity comes only but once." This false doctrine by extension makes them opportunist. . . Opportunism is evil. |
11. He's Jacob Zuma's most trusted ally. |
Good one. Mutual altruism and conscientiousness remain the soul of any healthy relationship. |
Kudos OP. However, change of mindset without an embrace of good ethical leanings equals to placebo. Conceitedness and disingenuousness remain the two major causes of stagnation in people's lives. |
Follygunners:Chief, at the risk of sounding immodest, I've the technical know-how to facilitate funding of a Nigeria "eldorado" - all things being equal. |
The Feyi of a guy has limited knowledge about project finance funding. Understanding will always remain superior to knowingness. |
Martinez19:Yes. In fact, my answer in number 5 is evident enough; the world is made up of about 99% of opportunists (opportunism is a major hallmark of small-mindedness) and only 1% of altruists. |
@OP I'm glad that you used "most humans." However, unlike you, I don't agree with the bible that "the heart of man is wicked and deceitful" but I sure know that the heart of "most men" are wicked and deceitful. Now to the points you raised: 1) Only small-minded people assume that politeness is a sign of weakness and, you know what, neither financial nor academic emancipation can cure small-mindedness. In summary, it's only small-minded people that usually undermine those they assumed below their strata. 2) This number is always like a sword and its two end edges; as much as I agree with you that small-minded people have no loyalty but servility to offer, yet, many a times, the one down may equally be of the same small-minded class. A small-minded person who's down will always try to transfer his frustration towards those around him, no matter how much the good one(s) around him tries to help him. I wish you have associated with a once wealthy but covetous person who's down, then, you will see reason to agree with me that such a person can never be satisfied no matter the magnitude of sacrifice you may make for him - only your downfall to his level can put smile on his face. 3) About number three, it's either when people mistakes friendliness for friendship and tag everyone that come closer to them as friend, or when they themselves are hypocrites, that they tend to experience such things. Personally, if I don't share the same ethical leanings with you, we can never be friends - If I can't entrust life into your hands then you can never wear a friend tag from me. I never attract frenemies to myself and I have never had reason to betray a friend before. 4) Of course, it's a conventional wisdom that 99.9% of religion proponents and practitioners and hypocrisy are inseparable. So, I agree with you on this. One who needs religion to do good simply lack good morals, therefore, should embrace a good ethical philosophy. 5) I agree with you. Actually, the world is made up of about 99% of opportunists and only 1% of altruists. A well-to-do person should always strive to avoid mistaken kindliness with foolishness and embrace just the former. . . The hand of a giver will always remain on top. 6) I don't agree with you on your generalization. What true is that money, power and riches bring out the worst in "small-minded people." 7) That's also for small-minded people. On this "even families and close relations can't be trusted." that only happens when such family and close relations are small-minded. Small-minded people and thoughtlessness are inseparable. |
@OP It's obvious that you failed to understand that idioms and its ilk aren't deductible to their literal meanings. The statement: "ladies shouldn't ask their boyfriends for money" is akin to the following statement "I don't like/love money." Well, while the latter means that I don't pursue money on expediency and at the expense of principle, the former means I don't like ladies that practices opportunism. Remember, he who comes into equity must come with clean hands. |
olowobaba10:Lol. You're a typical articulate incompetent. A sagacious person in your stead would've known - citing my first paragraph - that I hold no brief for ladies with bad character. |
Misconception and misinformation at their peak. Success can never make a good lady (person) to become bad. In fact, sane and sound people tend to become more refined as they attain greater heights in life. It's obvious that the OP has mistakenly likened characteristics of aristocratic (successful/independent) ladies for toxicity - a small-minded person will surely do. Aristocratic ladies and sagaciousness are inseparable, and nothing irritates a small-minded person like such. To be in the good book of a small-minded person you (as an aristocrat) must intentionally become either or both servile and subjugable to him/her. |
Foremost, remember that the hand of a giver is always on top. So, don't stop giving altruistically - remain beneficent. More so, you need to understand that the world is made up of about 99 percent of selfish people and only 1 percent of selfless people. And, of course, selfish people and opportunism are inseparable, just as selfless people and altruism are inseparable too. To your question, the opportunistic ones are your slaves, while you're simply being beneficial to the altruistic ones. The former ones aren't your friend at all, so the earlier you stopped seeing them in that light the better for your sanity. The very moment you begin to take them for what they are towards you (frenemies), you'll have no reason to see them as your responsibility any more and when this happens you won't have reason to accede to their demands - such people are fond of making demand rather that request - unconditionally and also you won't have reason to ask if/feel they're taking advantage of you. |
Gamesmart:Now you've automatically validated my opinion that you're a typical bumpkin. My last post in particular and previous posts herein in general are lucid enough for any sane and sound mind to understand. Mention me again only if your mother is truly lunatic and your father wretched. |
Gamesmart:You and your ilk always amused me. For instance, an enlightened person knows that free will doesn't mean absence of decorum - don't tell me that you do go out of your way to abuse your parents simply because you have free will. Just as irrelevance of age, as I stated therein, doesn't make rationalism useless - a man that needs children from a female companion needn't be told that it'll be risky to consider a woman from say 50 years and above suitable for same purpose. This scenario like I presented herein doesn't equally make an unmarried woman of any age useless. I really don't like to join issue with people but most of you can get on one's nerves with your conceited and parochial attitudes. I wish you all the best. Peace out. |
Gamesmart:Direct your question to your lunatic mother and wretched father. Bumpkin. Only bumpkins like you failed to understand the meaning of the accompanied statement therein: "yet the irrelevance of age in this regard doesn't invalidate rationality." |
jaychubi:Shut up you bumpkin. Now vamoose and look for your small-minded mates elsewhere because we aren't operating on the same wavelength. |
jaychubi:I guess you didn't understand the meaning of the accompanied statement "yet the irrelevance of age doesn't mean absence of rationality." |
LordBaelish:No. |
CSTR2:Biology isn't my standard in this regard. No apologies. |
Truly, academic excellence doesn't cure mental parochialism. The guy is an idiot. It takes time - little advancement in age - for a lady (person) to achieve self-realization. And this is hardly achieved by many before the age of 30. Therefore, personally, the age a woman achieved self-realization should be her best moment to marry. A woman who's achieved self-realization will always remain a top pick for me, age is irrelevant. . . Yet the irrelevance of age in this regard doesn't invalidate the importance of rationality. There's always need to maintain balance. |
@OP If only you understand the phrase "beauty is in the eye of the beholder," you wouldn't have wasted your time to write down this epistle. |
Misinformation and misconception are very big diseases. Religion has done more harm than good to innocent minds. I pray for this lady's worldview (spiritual) emancipation sooner rather than later. Upon her emancipation in this regard, she'll have no reason any more to mock God/Allah/Sole Creator of the universe but rather will channel her anger towards the religion proponents and practitioners that inculcated the wrong concept of God into her. Citing her submission, she's a rational person. However she's yet to achieve the four cardinal emancipation of life that will usher her into the league of privileged few people that have achieved self-realization. |
The meaning of feminism is as ambiguous as the meaning of love. Therefore, personally, I don't see one who possess the qualities you listed as a true feminist - to me those are wannabe feminists, they're simply small-minded. This class of feminists usually possess sexist, arrogant, conceited and domineering attitudes. Also, they're hypocritically disingenuous - they're like their small-minded male counterparts. Meanwhile, true feminists are proponents and practitioners of egalitarianism, conscientiousness and first between equals in romantic relationship/marriage (with the sane/nobleman as the first of the equals). They simply abhor subjugation in any form and guise. Believe you me, they're the best set of females to associate with. They're usually not just only smart and clever but equally insightful, outspoken, selfless and unassuming. I love real feminists. |
Kudos to PMB. On the Twitter commenter, there's nothing nepotic about PMB's act in this regard. |
Give an opportunist a second chance at your own peril. She's your frenemy, therefore, discard and divorce her with alacrity. |
VIPERVENOM:Believe you me, it's only small-minded people like you that "ashlick". A bumpkin like you failed to understand that freedom of speech doesn't mean absence of decorum. Now vamoose and look for your ilk elsewhere. Happy weekend. |
Good decision. He who comes into equity must come with clean hands. People should try and master the art of making constructive criticism - disparagement is a crime. |
Followership of needy persons/masses will always lie to he who satisfies their immediate need (either realistically or notionally). The wise never built his arsenal around them because they only have servility - not loyalty - to offer. He only uses them for the battle. |
Come on people! Here's a 72 years old man, so I see nothing surprise about his costume in particular and demeanour in general - this doesn't mean that he can't look better though. Cut him some slack. |
