Jallow, good on you to make plans for the future. I hope it all works out well. Is he going to learn to translate from English-Norwegian and Eng-Norw. in Gambia? But there are some things we can't control. Being out of sight for a man can bring temptations, if you know what i mean. I picture your man as an under 40 young man returning home for sometime. Hmmmmm.......... Very much in demand! This is not just your man. Any man. If I was in your position, I would make sure I can visit him every 3 months and stay around 10 days. At 1.5 years, your child will go for free. Having said that, I was away from my woman for a couple of years AND it went well. Well, I was in Europe working hard (I had time for nothing else), she was in Africa. I had many temptations. It was difficult. Most men wouldn't have been able. Hope your man is just one of those very very few who can. Good luck. |

Fact is the world loves very expressive, explosive players (no matter the position they play in) like Yaya Toure, Messi, Vieira, Okocha because they give us that entertainment and special moments that lead to goals. These stick in our memories. We seem to appreciate less the solid, confident and assured performance of DMFs but that's usually where games are won and lost. People praise Rooney when he scores 1 goal even if he barely touched the ball for 30 minutes but only few mention Carrick who slaves away throughout the game. Tisa: Mikel is the reason I hate mourinho as a coach. He bought mikel then with the sole aim of ruining his game. I still can comprehend the wisdom in his decision to convert an attacking mid fielder (@ the height of his game back then as an 18yr old) to a defensive mid fielder. Back then during the transfer saga I said to my friends that Mikel will be making a big mistake if he dished man u for chelsea simply because sir alex has an impeccable record of nurturing youngsters to stardom but maybe money blinded Mikel and his manager and he crossed to chelsea. |
bashr8: if we keep going on like this we will never get a leader who will account to us , we need to know what exactly our personal or community grudges are then be sure whose responsibility it is.. Since our so-called leaders don't want to listen to citizens' concerns (Sarah Pain here calling genuine grieviances insults), they will be shocked one day when things suddenly spiral out of control. When citizens get a chance to vent their spleen. Libya and Syria will be a child's play. All those money they loot will be to no avail. They will become fugitives. Mubarak never thought such a day would come. |
This Sarah Pain "in the azz" must be laptop 007. ![]() Truth be told, GEJ abi na JAGA JAGA be im name is lucky that he has not been given the Mubarak treatment. We are too docile. The way he tolerates corrupt people and their friends and family in the corridors of power. True, Naija has been messed up by just about every leader for nearly 40 years BUT we are tired of unprepared or accidental presidents like Yar'Adua & this Goodluck of a man. A man who confessed to advising late Yar'Adua NOT to declare his assets (so that they can pull a wool over our face) and said he doesn't give a damn about what Nigerians think of not declaring asset. Haba. Maybe we know that only another thief will replace him if we send him packing, we just give up. But one day monkey go go market. |
Ol' girl, abeg spare us all this yarn. Your story get comma because you partly led him on. You have already overcome the moral hurdle because you call your aunt a bi.atch! Do you have any lingering resentment towards her? This happens in many families. Possible that there is envy over her marrying the AA? Listen to yourself: you even had the time to be explaining why you cannot do it. Saying your tradition forbids it? If you were a more decent girl, you would have told him never to contact you again under threat of reporting him to your aunt. Many AA men don't have the same culture as us. On Monty and Jerry Springer, you see how they bleep any bleepable: mother-in-law, sister-in-law, you name it. |
Musiwa: satellite map secessionist and future President Satellite Republic of Benin with Federal capital in Ikorodu. Chaircover: Deaconess and psychotherapist (talking therapist). Ileke: student Odunnu: insurance employee |
Please send me pictures and details of plantinum estate near MFM to: mac.lovington@yahoo.com Is there immediate allocation or media affair type? Which other expenses immediately go with buying a plot? Cheers. |
PetroDolla: phucked up bastard with a brain of a goat. Ghana this Ghana that, yet most of your airlines fly to Ghana than any other country in the world. Do you know the number of nigerian buses that come to Ghana daily, ediota foolish goat. who wants to compare with a dustbin country. arrant nonsense!. Condolences for the death of your president. But truly learn to control your anger and hatred towards others. Nigerians are very critical of Nigerian politicians/politics and the whole system. Nigerians generally discuss their problems openly while most other Africans generally cover up happenings in their country (believing that's patriotism). So we really don't need hate-filled foreigners disturbing our solemnity (to use shakepeare's language). If your country is paradise, congratulations! But please enough of the insults. Any well-bred person should know that. |
AT least the guy use number six. it makes sense. He only wrote as if it was one of our local languages. |
kcng: religeon is killing nigeria, and we have too many senseless youths who dont understand anything. Bakare is not the only one who hears and sees these things the man is very on point.God Almighty always reach out to every generation through His trusted Men. God said in genesis:Abraham is my friend can I hide anything from Him? this was before sodom was destroyed. If not for great men like the Bakare's many of you making noise that he uses church for politics will have been dead. Can God look at your life and for your sake spare your family not to talk of your comunity? you are living useless lifes and don't even have a little idea of what God or the bible Say's because you don't read it.. Northern Nigeria can become like Bosnia, not South. Even during Biafra war, Gen. Effiong and others knew when it was truly over. If falling apart is needed to reach our true destination(s), fall apart it should. Postponing the evil day is just not on point. It's mere cowardice and doing the ostrich. |
Chubhie: He has just announced the death of the commander in chief...Or how else will there be election before 2015. Ol' boy I don't know how old you are or what you know about democracy but here are some possiblities: (1) President & VP are impeached by National Assembly, Senate leader takes over and conducts elections within 90 days. Gbajabiamila (House minority leader was said to have raised that motion lately if budget is not implemented). (2) President & VP forced to resign and same as above (3) A coup d'etat & military junta conduct elections within 1-2 years (4) Nigeria disintegrates and whatever is left of it, possibly Arewa Jamuriyya of Naijerya conducts fresh election. Etc Let's leave out the boko option for now. I don't want men in black (MIB) looking for me for any careless prediction |

niyiduke01: Please Nigerians lets think out of the box for once...is it the BH that are really responsible?..Are there no other disgruntled elements hidden behind BH shadow...Is there no solution that some of us can proffer or suggest(leave the govt. Aside, they are only concerned with their families welfare the rest they are doing are lip service) Fellow Nigerians lets try to shed the toga of Tribalism and ethnicity...this is our father and motherland...Anywhere you people like to run to in the world,This country blood still flows in your veins...please this incessant and senseless killings need to be stopped...this is a clarion call for all the well wishers for Nigeria..God Bless Nigeria...I rest my case for now.... Ol' boy, Naija has already gone past that stage oo. Now there is really no basis for unity. THERE NEVER WAS ANY BASIS FOR UNITY. Hear what our founding fathers had to say even in the good early 60s. Awolowo: "Nigeria is only a geographical expression". Zik of Africa: "A Nigerian does not exist in the sense that the English, the Welsh or the French exist. A Nigerian is a term used to describe a person living within the boundary of Nigeria as against those outside". Sir Ahmadu Bello: "We do not want any southerners in the northern civil service. If we cannot find a northerner to occupy a position in civil service, we would prefer a foreign expatriate like you (refering to a white European journalist)on contract. If we cannot find an expatriate, then we can engage a southerner but only on contract". |

holatunjii: It is still available now... Get it now and reside in a very good place, where God's blessings will be yours.. Can one buy a single plot? and how much? Please say more about the nature of the topography, neighbourhood, documents and any encumberance/government issues. |
sarutobie: Christ said "where two or more people are gathered in my name,I will be in their midst".so I go to church to be in the presence of my Lord and worship Him with other believers. The bible is the final authority on the way of christ Jesus..every true christain should learn to read and study the bible on his/her own... OK oo. Just gather a few area boys and alayes and no need to go to church. Me too don tire oo. Each time I go to an African church, I am surprised how little they understand the bible. They just muddle everything up and interpret everything literally. The focus on money is just unbearable. I just cringe. Some believe that if you can quote many bible verses, that's it. At least in a Western church, you are not threathened with damnation because of tithe and offering. |
kheart: Hmmmm make i adjust my kujera sit back relax and watch d drama.Me too dey adjust my aga/ijoko with a glass of Baileys ![]() |

temmiedee: Do you have to post your pix here for employment? No! No!! No!!! |
naijababe:. My sister, even some with that kind of money do take London bus and live a simple live! A celebrity Lord, academic and tv presenter, often on TV, goes to town doing window shopping like anybody else. I was going to cinema with my missus one day when I saw him with an umbrella, window shopping and carrying a shopping bag. His in-law was my course mate at Uni and I happen know to him apart from seeing him on TV. I said to my lady " that's Lord......." but we were in a hurry so couldn't go and say hello. Now this gentleman lives in swanky Hampstead where Babagida and others have mansions. A Nobel Prize winner (now late) in my uni used to take that old London bus like molue to and from office. He was by no means a poor man. In advanced societies, many rich people have no need to display wealth unnecessarily. |
Well Chinom, I certainly got the chance to prove myself abroad without having to rely on god-fatherism and family connections. Tribalism blocked every lucrative opening in Naija then, ability was irrelevant. I got the chance to be trained here abroad by Nobel Prize winners along with some of the very best brains the West have to offer. Many others who came with very little are also getting the opportunity. Some med schools here in UK are full of Naija diaspora kids. Same with law, engineering etc. Many paying little money or nothing. The Care work/cleaning/security their parents did or do is gradually paying off. While you see Naija cleaners in public places, their children and some others are inside doing great things that Naija would be proud of in the future. |
Olalekan 0: cleanres earn £40,000 a year?are you high? Even doctors don't earn that much!. Cleaners don't earn that much but doctors at Registrar level and clinical fellows certainly do. Hardly any consultant gets less than £70-75k now. I know an ENT surgeon on 120k and that's not including his work in a nearby private hospital. Another Obs/gynae lady gets around 90k for 3 days work/week in a leading teaching hospital. Another top cancer expert works 2 weeks in UK and 2 weeks in US. Total annual income: around 250k. |
AjanleKoko: Possible.. Ajalenkoko, You're kidding right? You have very limited experience of people. How do people get security licence without paper these days? I know some with ACCA, MSc, all acquired in the UK and are still looking for a job. Some people(whites etc) used to unserestimate education of security guards in my work place until I told them one has an MPhil+ PGCE with a first degree, one an ACCA and a first degree, another a BSc + MBA. Some do other part-time jobs elsewhere but no job they like full-time, so stick to security full-time that helped pay their way through their degrees in the first place. If you're in UK, you camn meet them and help with job! |
A cleaner in my former place of work was able to set up a business in Lagos, employing 4 people and he was about to complete his house then. Ok had another part-time job, but also a menial one. His wife too was doing a menial job. One machine he bought for his business cost about £7,000. I know because I used to help him make photocopies and send faxes. That was over 10 years ago. Some people with limited education come to Europe and grab every opportunity they get, even cleaning jobs. Because they probably had worse prospects back in Naija, they see it as a chance to do things. Sometimes, it's not really about how much you earn, it's how you manage it. |
