Beaf Are you sure of N12,000 in India? A friend did MRI scan in Lagos for N100,000 just weeks ago. Anyone knows where they do MRI for 50k or less in Nigeria? Urgently needed. Thanks. |
What a fake thread lol Yawn. Naija boys will never cease to amaze me
You may think it's fake. I saw something similar with my koro koro eyes in naija even the "good old" days. A man sent his school cert wife with kids to university. You would think no need for her to leave the marriage after 4 kids. As soon as she got her professional qualification, she vamosed. Her family, friends and in-laws were shocked. Funny enough her female kids went with their mum while the boys refused to go with her. Of course the man she ran away with dumped her soon after. Guess what, she wanted to return but the man too was about to remarry. She has been going from one man to the next since. I have seen a few other cases here in the West among immigrants. |
okeyxyz: So what has other traditional rulers contributed to nigeria??. That you do not see their contribution is not their fault. It's because of the way the colonial system suppressed our tradtional institutions because they wanted no other king to compete with the King/Queen of England. Post-colonial politics continued it. Kings/Obas/Emirs today are careful before making any public statement that might sound political. Just recently in Benin, a palace chief (the traditional prime minister/Bini's tradtional political officer), a post that has existed for over 800 years, made a statement and the Oba of Benin was criticised here on NL for meddling in Edo state Guber campaign. That's how tetchy we are regarding our kings/obas. Colonial brainwash is permanent. Attah Igala should be known to anyone who ever had social studies at school. |
NRI PRIEST: Nop,Igala originated from Eri. And "Agaba Idu" doesnt literally mean "great lion". Its an idiomatic expression and can be used to describe a great man. Agaba is actually a masqurade with great esteem in my town but I will call my father tomorow and find out what "Idu" mean because there is another expression he uses " Idu n' Oba".. I am not Ibo but I know that Ika people refer to Bini/Edo as Idu. Parts of Yoruba land also refer to Bini as Ado. I would be interesting to know how these words "Idu and Ado" originated. But this being Nairaland, the whole thing will soon degenerate into a fight for tribal supremacy. |
Which year was the car built? Any AC? Is it still registered? Odometer reading? Does it have original documents? Can it travel to Benin City without breaking down? Can you upload here or send pictures of interior and engine to: mac.lovington@yahoo.com |
fellis: Those Christians are just pretending. They are secretely rejoicing that a mosque was attacked.Wrong. In light of recent attacks by terrorists who happen to be muslims, some christians are clearly angry. But on daily basis, christians believe in preaching and encouraging others to become christian. I do not know of any christian who has anything against muslims just for the sake of it. As a teenager, we looked forward to Sallah and ate ram and rice with our muslim neighbours. Same at Christmas. We would ensure slaughtering goat/sheep/cattle was halal compliant. We generally considered muslims to be honest, modest, pius and not unnecessarily greedy. This goodwill may have taken a battering recently but I can't imagine a true christian rejoicing over a muslim's death. |
Sijo01: Lmao, dnt 4get wat a man can do, a woman can do better.. Reporters, una try gan. I have been following you guys at intervals from faraway UK. Wish I was there. Sijo01: you're da Bomb BUT not boko ![]() Since those in authority can mostly not be trusted to rep us well, citizen participation is paramount. |
My ribs oo ![]() You can hardly blame the boy/girl. Blame the Miss for the silly questions. The pupil should try stand-up comedy. |
hannydarl: If it was a man that gave a would be babe that test and she left, most guys here would have called for her head. Now its the other way round people are still blaming the woman. Na wetin woman go do to pleasE men sef? If she married him now and he dumps her when she goes broke its men that will come here and call her names for thinking she could change a gold digger and married him. Men call names if we don't rush into marriage when we rush into one nko? You still call us desperate. Na wa.. Hannadarl, Girls leave their guys for bigger boys in thousands daily. That's actually the normal thing with many women. It wouldn't be a story at all. Every man has seen it happen to friends/family members/themselves. "Woman no dey follow person carry wood wey bend" is an ancient adage in Southern Naija. |
Eminentsam: I began to develop feelings for her when i noticed her in my church and i started considering her for marriage but on approachin and drawing closer to her i discovered she is abt 2 yrs older than me but stil looks very young like d same age or even younger than me and i hav proposed to her already pls advice me bc i realy like her and am an only son.. @ Poster, Your information is incomplete: (1) How old are both of you? If you're both in your 20s or under 38, I can't see any problem. Reason is as an only son, I assume you want to have kids to preserve family name. If she's 51 and you are 49, I would say no. (2) Is there anything about her character that bothers you right now e.g: Does she overrule your decisions because she thinks she's older and wiser? Does she not give you enough respect and regard or you fear such might happen later? If 1 & 2 above don't apply but you're just worried about what people will say or you're just inhibited by tradition, go ahead and wed. |
Burrito: @ op, so in short, you were living a lie. With plenty respect, i don't really get this sort of reasoning. If i were a guy i would dump any babe who i find has been lying to me for any reason. Trust is key. And then i would get even more livid, if i then learn that her lies were because she was trying to test me! Good for you that the guy was up to no good anyway, so you didn't lose anything. But be careful with all this testing testing, abeg. There's ways to discern someone's character without resorting to lies (at least major ones, lol), me thinks it could really backfire on you.. Next time let her test her guy with a 6-foot, curvaceous, lepacious, bootylicious fine baby to see if he's faithful or not. Her guy will chop clean mouth and even marry the babe sef. ![]() |
dazzlingvixen: I met a nice guy through a friend and we started seeing each for sometime. He was of the opinion that I was loaded since I had a good job. The love was looking too sweet to be real. He wasn't too ok financially and always told me about his problems and I told him money wasn't an issue for me in a relationship. And having been burnt once, I tested him.. Maybe you attract the wrong kind of men. The average Naija guy I know likes to spend on his babe even if he has to borrow to do so. I hope you don't flaunt your "wealth". Be as it may, please help us advice zillions of gold-digging women out there to have mercy on us men. Now you see what we men have to go through in life. This kind of thread would not get even 10 responses if you were a guy. It is now seen as normal for ladies to milk us dry. |
Great work & thread |
210k and please send picture of the engine to: mac.lovington@yahoo.com |
paix: Women generally are more meticulous when it comes to spending money. Does that make them better managers than their male counterparts?. It varies: Men are conditioned as breadwinners/providers. We instinctly show that we care by doling out money to aged grandparents, our fine babe or anybody we should instinctively provide for. Women show they care by smiling, sweet words, a quip gossip but shishi, they won't give out anyhow. Even your wife will tell your kids to wait for daddy and ask him for your book list money. ![]() But still lots of ladies can spend a fortune on premium lace and shoes. When it comes to managing business, I like to believe they are good BUT I have only ever had two female bosses. (1) One was so mean and the environment so toxic that I left the job and told her I was leaving to avoid something serious happening especially as she was pregnant. Some others stayed because of the nice male MD/lack of choice. (2) The second one sacked an innocent staff without due process/no investigation just because another staff she liked and often gossiped with lied against him. Her company's big shots felt humiliated at the employment tribunal. They had to pay over £60,000 to my guy!! She was sacked pronto. That was like 13 years ago. |
@libritysign, Where is the car (Mitsubishi Lancer) located and is it registered? Year built? Is there AC? Odometer reading? Please send pictures of the engine to: mac.lovington@yahoo.com |
It is very subjective. Judging another person's level of responsibility presupposes that you are responsible yourself. Many people have a public persona that appears to be a responsible person. But secretly sleeps with his friend's wife, a married pastor bleeping choir girls, a wife beater, a corrupt judge/politician/lecturer/policeman/civil servant etc. A responsible person to me is a considerate, thoughtful, hardworking, honest person that treats others the way he wants to be treated. Who has dedication and loyalty to his family, friends and community. |
Poor foundation due to poor teaching methods. Lack of self-confidence tackling the subject soon develops and fear sets in. In year 2 in secondary (not this their JSS/SSS thing) a youth corper nearly destroyed my abilities in Maths. After just scraping maths in year 2 (despite top grades through primary school and first year in secondary), I quickly embraced further maths in year 3 (the earliest you could do additional maths then). I did GCE o'level that same year as an external candidate. Having luckily passed all the 5 papers I enrolled (most of us in my group passed all papers) with over a year to go in secondary, confidence was very high. WASC was a doddle. Yes, poor teachers play a big role in it. |
bakila: Ayo Salami is qualified. Oya make GEJ NOMINATE THE MAN MAKE WE SEE.. If Goodluck appoints Ayo Salami, Boko will process him into Halal Salami for their breakfast bread! Granted the man is a bit slow BUT not that slow to dare Boko in his cabinet/Aso Rock. |
ifihearam: This is one of the transformation agenda of the president,GEj has added yet another feather to his cap by making an unprecedented appointment of the office of the Chief Justice of Nigeria. I hail you sir.. Hahaha! I laugh in boko! A man held by the balls by boko haram has come to liberate naija. Then Naija's case is really hopeless. A man who dares not even to travel to Borno, Bauchi or any such places because he knows that fear of boko is the beginning mediocrity (in which he wallows). Abeg today is not April fool's day. Dis GEJ na wa oo. Large swaths of the country he dares not visit. Other places (like royal palaces) he's left waiting till eternity. Sorry state of affairs. |
Billyonaire: One thing I know for shizzle, the NASS people wont stop receiving bribes, but they will be tactical about it.. Story. Has any NASS bribe taker ever been punished the the law of the land? No. |
Issued by: Bank of Farouk's Cap of Naijerya. LOL! |
londoner: Walmart will cater for the emerging middle classes.. Are you not aware of how the high street shops are closing down daily across UK?? Large Tesco and Asda stores are sqeezing them out. In my area, lots of local shops have been replaced by Ladbrokes, W. Hill and payday loan shops. To underestimate the future effects of the foreign big shops will be a typical Nigerian myopia. |
Rubbish - can you price in wallmart? Growing up in Enugu there were supermarkets everywhere - but most people would still visit the market to get a good deal. Wallmart will fail - Igbo's will out hustle them with their eyes closed.
But herd mentality and "keeping up with the Joneses" factor cannot be ignored. We may soon raise a generation of urban-dwellers who will see shopping in a mall as a mark of sophistication and patronising Mama Chinyere shop as being too "local". 20 years on, these supermarkets might become too influential on our tastes and lifestyle. We Africans like to ape the westerners. |
ifyalways: NairalandNow I can see why Ify is giving back so much to NL. She found luv wantintin here. ![]() |
adefash: U MEAN THERE IS WHITE HOUSE IN LONDONNa that big prison for hardened criminals aka Brixton Prison. Maybe she was a "warder" there. ![]() |
robinhoodd2: OP u r being biased. what happened to MOSQUE? add d missing link. Men & women don't typically mingle in a mosque. |
adekennis: I see the drones comingLol. The yanks don't just do things without an agenda. They are way smarter than that. They need a new base to keep the jihadist under close watch. Soon they will be predicting and forecasting imminent extremist attacks (like they did in Mombasa last week), since good old Naija intelligence services only know how to carry handbangs for politician's wives/mistresses. Heck, Boko has infiltrated both Aso Rock & SSS. Jonathan knows it and said so. |
Billyonaire: Nigeria is not breaking.....the sooner you get your mind off it, the better for you.. Says who? Just because you may be personally benefiting from the current messed up arrangement does not mean that the status quo will continue. |
Ruq: Please don't call her Nigerian. she is a briton with Nigerian decent. when you guys see Nigerian decents doing great you quickly claim them. i bet if you asked the lady involved she will tell you she's english. The girl na proper naija babe. With proper polished naija accent. Have you talked to her or seen her in person before? |
