Oh yes the earth and nature is conscious and you are a part of the earth, you are conscious therefore the earth is conscious...
it's not about me. Nature doesn't need me to survive. . I need it to survive
Nature bore us all so it is greater than humanity. .its not conscious because of you or I

Are they?

You are a conscious entity, am sure you know exactly the definition of consciousness is from the human perspective unless you would want consciousness redefined... Am certain you know exactly what i mean by being a conscious entity..
There's no specific definition for consciousness. . the topic is stil highly debated by philosophers

All these deities are just personification of nature... E. g Ani(land) is the personification of land (goddess) in igbo culture... All these are just human way of interacting with nature... It doesn't mean that any of these things personified are really conscious entities.

The greek personification of earth is the goddess Gaia.. this doesnt make it true that the goddess gaia is truly a conscious entity, its just the ancient personifying their surrounding and nature the way they understood it..
bro while you might choose to disagree there's more than enough reason to believe that the earth and everything in Nature is conscious

MrPresident:
nice point, but the fact remains, both recorded and unrecorded history of every culture on earth has a story of gods/goddesses from the sky. images of those sky gods/goddesses were being worshipped in Africa before the white man invasions.
the bigger question is - who re those gods/goddesses?
one of the priorities of the first missionaries was to eradicate any trace of such sky visitors, which our naive grandparents saw as 'white man taking our oracles'
in as far as I detest religions as well as god-worship of any kind, I still think we have a very long way to go in the knowledge of our true past.
that's why I always say Gods/Goddesses don't really exist as they are portrayed but they must be portrayed in some way and what better way than in the image of the people that honor them?

So the white men came to Africa, grabbed this almighty chukwu and threw it inside the garbage can and it stayed there waiting for men to resurrect it?

If this chukwu is almighty as the deluded igbos claim, why did it not stop the white men from crossing to Africa?

Why did it not give the Africans wisdom to fight against the white men?

After reading all this trash, I have finally come to conclude that all gods are man made, not the other way.

though, there are forces in this world that I'm yet to understand, until then I am God.
the Force that is known as Chukwu in igbo is not igbo property but Caucasians share in its glory. .so do animals and infact everything in existence

this is not like christianity and Islam that creates a delusion that only members are protected and blessed by "God"

The creator is not a partial entity that picks sides or discriminates, humans already have all we need to survive and grow

Is the man a muslim or christian?
I haven't seen a christian yoruba man marrying a second wife and most times, the muslim ones don't venture into polygamy when they marry a Christian woman.

My advice; they should follow their heart not people's own.
yoruba culture allows to marry even a million if you can

since when has Religion come before culture? it's not like the hebrews of the bible weren't polygamous

We thank you for respecting the choice of the majority and doing the needful instead of waiting to be "gbagboed" out since you were the best president EVER!!!.

GEJ has many reasons to jettison those elections.. under age voting, irregularities, fraud, manipulation and rigging....dat' s why what he did is excellent...

Jonathan pushed Nigeria to no. 1 economy in Africa
those debts were mostly incured due to the Boko Haram menace Buhari largely allowed to escalate by protesting their initial attacks by the military and refusing to make peace talks and negotiations with them

Why did you contest in the first place?

You had promised you would do only one term only to turn around and fail to keep to your word.

You did not want any opposition to your candidacy that is why you didnt allow free and fair presidential primaries in your party.

Now you lost you say you conceded defeat to avert crisis. You did not conceed, you were voted out.
Buhari also said he wouldn't contest the 2015 elections. . but he went back on his word.
at least GEJ didn't do a second term (didn't win election) like he said grin

We are saying the same thing.
https://www.nairaland.com/2323061/trust-faith-arent-same-thing#33909844
Faith is that strong belief in something or someone without logical proof,
whilst trust is relying or depending on something or someone, based on the character or integrity.

Or igbagbọ is faith - to have faith

Or I trust you because I have faith in you
you are really slow

did you not read this?

macof: in yoruba we just use "belief". to believe we know comes with justification, faith as its described doesn't
You cannot teach me yoruba wit some lousy online translator Mr.

breaking down the word I-Gba-Gbo accepting what is heard = to believe

very different from your Christian definition of faith

if then we choose to look at Igbagbọ(Belief) in another context we would consider "Belief" as a broad term for Hope, trust, Conviction and even Delusions
as I've said the human mind is incapable of having "faith". .unless you say the popular Christian definition of faith is wrong and it actually refers something else (the human mind is capable of) like hope for instance or Trust. .after all the word "faith" was taken from the Latin word for Trust

even the term "blind faith" is just another word for delusion

here's your own words trying to downplay the yoruba culture

some of those cultural names have negative connotations which in turns affects our behavior
you obviously don't know a thing about naming culture in Yorubaland
best you don't speak on a topic you don't even understand unless you seek to understand and ask questions rather than make bold accusations like that

You mean names like
Asake
Abike
Arike
Alabi
Adigun... Seriously, I don't even know what those cultural names stands for but I keep hearing them.

Our people are just being careful about the names they pick for their kids, some of those cultural names have negative connotations which in turns affects our behavior, thats why you see so many people going for a more religious name. Our names indirectly influence the way we act.
This is the dumbest shit I've ever heard concerning Yoruba names

what kinda thing would make you think yoruba culture propagate nonsense names?
if you understand yoruba culture you would know that "Ile l'anwo k'a to somo l'oruko"

Igbagbo is belief - to believe

Many languages don't even have a word for Faith, they use translations for Loyalty, Trust, Belief (so I believe such a psychological state doesn't really exist). . in yoruba we just use "belief. to believe we know comes with justification, faith as its described doesn't
The word "Faith" coming from the Latin word "Fides" meaning trust close to "Fidelis" meaning Loyalty/Faithfulness ..the word in english/christianity has evolved into a non-existent feeling
The Psychological state taken for Faith is actually Delusion or at best Hope

Na wa ooo you claim to be versed in Christian theology and very deep spiritual person yet you can't understand a simple Bible verse.
OK.... Let me break it down for you.
The verse above is simply saying if you want to make heaven you have to forsake your "I too know" mentality and behave like a kid.
What do children do?....... they obey without asking questions, they are guided, they are directed, they follow, they look up to their parents for everything........

I am a Christian by faith not by scientific facts..... Any day a Christian starts to question the authenticity of the Bible..... he is no longer worthy to be called a Christian.
grin the same verse is interpreted differently by others. . there's the interpretation that Children are with less sin and closer to "God"

what makes your interpretation better than this one?
