Ploy: Still if we split along the geo-political zone, we will still have linguistic problem. This is because Nigeria is a Kaleidoscope of languages. Most languages in spectrum do not have standard orthography.
How would the Kadara, Jokum, Kakanda read? When Nigeria split and they are in North
Pls, don't be deceived, there was no Nigeria before the colonial masters come. We were myriad of different people living their different lives in a relatively close environment. Urhobo, Itsekiri, Ijaw etc will never admit they are Igbo. So are Zuru, Gwari, Kadara, Nupe, Koro will never say they are Hausa. Egun may also say they are not Yoruba. We can't select an indigenous language as a national language because there is mutual suspicion from every angle. If Hausa say they are born to rule, if Hausa is then selected. I guess the fear is confirmed No. We can't split on geo political lines but ethnic lines Yoruba, Hausa/fulani, Igbo, Niger delta ethnic/tribes(Ijaw, Efik, ibibio etc.) And Middle belt tribes The only diverse regions are Middle belt(North central) and south south not North West/east, South West or any other...reasons being the North central and South South has no dominant culture, it's jst a confluence of different cultures coming from Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo and the natives But why should the large ethnic groups suffer and be denied self determination and independence because of the small ones You do know that The jukun, idoma and many of the central ethnic groups are descended from the Kwararafa kingdom so their relationship didn't start with Nigeria |

That stupid mentality was obviously ingrained in you by your father and it's no fault of mine I was taught differently by my parents. No wonder, you have a stupid head on your shoulder and I repeat, a 2 yrs kid has a better brain than you, jungle man. For ur information u deranged cow. Ur ancestors were polygamous And they didn't kill themselves of hate otherwise you would never have been born The best form of love, unity and understanding exists in a polygamous family, it's a lazy man who doesn't care for his family that allows his wives and children.cause chaos. it's left for u to question ur father for his incompetence |

Shirley07: Love and unity doesn't exist in a polygamous home because a man who put his family into such situation is a selfish man who has no love for his family in the first place yet according to an imbecïle like you, the first wife is expected to do the tedious act of bonding the family when it's obvious that home is a dilapitated home already. However, you later claimed in another statement that africa women do not suffer. Even a 2 yrs child won't reason like this, jungle man! It is ur father that bore you that is an slowpoke and a jungle man Polygamous or not, A good father and Man is good regardless all men of my ancestry that I remember married more than 1 wife and cared endlessly for each child from each woman. A good African wife is one that is submissive to the husband, she should be hardworking but not a working jackass while the husband sits around only waiting for food... of course no good woman should waste her time with a lazy man of no potential In Yoruba societies we encourage love and unity in a family and this responsibility lies basically on the first woman of the house. The woman also has the children, they learn all they know at childhood from their mother so she should be a wonderful example and show love and discipline
African women don't suffer because of tradition maybe the OP's mother/grandmother married a poor and careless man who put her through hell |

Radoillo: I've been watching this back-and-forth for some days now. I just wanted to bring you guys' attention to a number of things you appear to have missed.
1. No one says 'Hamite' or 'Hamitic' any more.
2. Even when the words 'Hamite' or 'Hamitic' were in vogue, it was more of a language family than a racial group (Even though some racist scholars from that era treated it as a racial group).
3. 'Hamitic' was applied to the African members of the Afro-Asiatic language family: Ancient Egyptian (ancestor of modern Coptic), Cushitic (Somali, Oromo, etc), Berber (including the language of the Tuaregs), Chadic (including Hausa and Angas).
So if we were to step back to the 1960s when scholars still used 'Hamite' and 'Hamitic', then yes there were Black Hamites - the Hausas and other Chadic speakers.
But the thing is, Hamite is no longer a valid term, linguistically or racially. I still do. Not that i don't know it's unofficial but that's how I get to understand anthropology probably because of my Christian background and btw the only reason why Hamitic is not used anymore is because the Ham theory of the Bible is false There wasn't any Ham who fathered Africans(North Africans) |

onyedikachiyuda: Imagine how illogical your stance of argument is. I showed you pictures of Egyptians not Hamites? Now, Egyptians are no more Hamites? You sound like one who has very little knowledge of the Bible; I even doubt if you ever believe in the Bible. Since you claim that Egyptians are not Hamites, maybe I should leave you with some passages in the Bible; or would you argue against the Bible? Read Psalms 78:51; 105:23; 106:22; Genesis 14:5. I've told u to stop using Bible to learn history. I have said from the very beginning that Egyptians are mixed kinda lika USA of today Showing me Egyptian images as Hamitic is ridiculous...like presenting Americans when I ask for Negro images I don't even want to talk about Egypt anymore because only few people seem to realize the mixed heritage bringing controversial talks about whether Egypt was black or Not You ever wonder why Egypt is the only nation with black presence in your so called "Hamitic" people of the Bible? Why not post images of berbers, why not Libyans.? Libyans, Berbers, Phoenicia, Canaanites, Philistines(who ur bible said came from Egyptians Genesis 10:13) were all descendants of Ham according to the Bible why only Egypt is black? The Egyptians refered to Canaanites, Phoenicians and Philistines as AMU( probable origin of "HAM" not themselves They never saw themselves similar to their neighbours either blacks to the South or Libyans/berbers to the West ...they knew they were mixed. Am tired of trying to get u to see this and trust me this is my last attempt Lower Egypt, a region where the Levant culture flourished(levant culture was based on the Phoenician way of life) Have u ever wondered why The Egyptians, Persians and Assyrians painted Phoenicians as white How come the culture of the northern Egyptians was from a white people? How come cranial structure of the northern Egyptians are not similar to southern Egyptians the early 20th century, Egyptologist Sir William Matthew Flinders Petrie deduced that skeletal remains found at pre-dynastic sites at Naqada (Upper Egypt) indicated the presence of two different races, with the Dynastic Race, also referred to as the "Followers of Horus",[1] differentiated physically by a noticeably larger skeletal structure and cranial capacity.[2] Petrie concluded that the physical differences of the remains in conjunction with the previously unknown burials styles, uncharacteristic tomb architecture, and abundance of foreign artifacts, implied this race must have been an invading ruling elite that was responsible for the seemingly sudden rise of Egyptian civilization It's known and accepted fact that Negros have a larger skeleton structure, even if caucasian deny the larger cranial cavity which is obvious Some have even gone so low to say our skulls are filled with millet...my point is the message I quoted above refers to my earlier statement of Blacks being the ruling class of Egypt but not the only race in Egypt...we had Hamitic presences too who were light skinned like every other Hamitic around eg. Berbers, Phoenicians, Libyans. Below a photo of An Egyptian pharaoh battling(and winning) against 2 LibyansThe widely held theory now is that about 5,000 yrs ago when the Sahara dried out Negro populations ran upwards and settled in the Nile valley where they saw Hamitic people in the Nile delta and conquered them Read

OFOnaOGU: Thanks for the correction (it was a mistake). But you see, you are really stupid by not knowing whom the author was referring to. Arguing with people like you is just a waste of time. Also, you are stupid by relying on articles written by white men. It was around 19th century that european authors classified some caucasian (from caucus mountain) race that conquered northern africa (afro) and dwelt there 'Hamites'.
The word 'Ham' does not really mean black; also the word Kush/cush does not mean black. The white men only give interpretation of ancient names based on pigmen of imagination. They call Ham and cush black because the people known by these names were blacks the same with Shem (CHIMA). HAM properly rendered in the original Hebrew is 'AMA' meaning place of people. Also, Cush/Kush/Kwush properly rendered 'Ikwu-Eshi' in the original Hebrew means 'people of Eshi'. Hebrews never called Ham blacks. the ham theory of black people was propagated by Arabs and Europeans during the slave era (curse of Ham by Noah), which has been proven to be false. As Ham was Infact never cursed but Canaan his son Hamitic-semitic is wat is now known as Afro-Asiatic...people like Hebrews, Arabs(semitic) Berbers, Libyans(Libu" in ancient times) (Hamitic) The black population began with Upper Egypt down through Nubia/Kush to sub-Saharan Africa Can u prove the bold by presenting this words from Hebrew dictionary or have u started ur madness again? |

freeradical: There you are wrong bro. To believe in God or not to believe in God has nothing to do with your intellect. It comes from deep within an individual. I have a big laugh when I see the way atheist pride themselves as intellectually superior to arderents of other religion. Faith is what guides every soul. While the Christians/muslims choose to put their faith in God throu the tenets thought by their various religions you macof chose to put yours in the gods your ancestors worship while the atheist put their faith in the idea that God doesnt exist. To each his own belief. Now how does where one chooses to put his/her faith add to his intellect. Even if an atheist tries to sell the idea of atheism to me with all the strongest of arguments he can conjure for some reason I still will choose to be a christian. The same is expected if the roles are reversed and I was the one trying to sell christianity to an atheist. We both know that we have individuals of high intellect in both sides of the divide(theist and atheist) so lets come to terms with reality that atheism doesnt make people smarter. You jst proved my point. Christians like u are morons If you were intelligent u would realize that I never said atheism makes anybody intelligent |

Ploy: I have thought about Russia and Japan using another language apart from English and still they are developing but then I realised somethings -
*almost all the African countries are created by the colonial masters. What is the relationship between Hausa-fulani and Igbo for example? Irrespective of our tribal differences, they forced us into one. Countries like Japan are bilingual or monolingual but a small society in Africa is multilingual. How then do we select a language out of the array of languages as a language of instruction?
The linguistic situation of Africa is like a mace, there is mutual suspicion as to linguistic domination and marginalisation. This takes us back to where we started. Our political leaders are benefiting from our backwardness. They travel to Europe and America see development but come back home and play to our fantasy. #let us believe in God, we shall be there one day# The question is, do they mean it?
If the problem of Africa can only be solved when we adopt an indigenous language as a medium of instruction, the problem will never be solved. That's why I have long realized that a progressive nation is one built on cultural and lingual assimilation Nigeria lacks that...too bad It was only a brutish act by the British Nigerians are better off with their Ethnic nations having their own government and sovereignty |
