your so called world leaders don't know what Nigerians are facing under this administration

I've been reading lots of interesting post here which made me deviate from my purpose here. Obviously, it's captivating to read.
I'm a filmmaker and I intend to shoot a short film based on ogun the god of iron. The purpose is to praise African heros, encourage our culture and preach qualities that can be emulated from these superheros. It's no gainsaying that, our stories have been taken by Hollywood studios to be monetized and yet with no due acknowledgment. DC comic and Marvel are culprits here; and instead of folding our hands, I decide to tell our stories in a dramatic, sci-fi and 21st century age.

I just wanted to find out if there were any relationship and encounters at any point between Ogun and Sango, so I can complete my script without leaving significant dent to our culture. Thanks guys.
some say Oya was Ogun's wife before she left him for Sango

I don't know but I doubt Ogun is involved here. ..But then again, that name "ogun" has been carried by many men

you might need to take further research

The Executive Governor of Kogi State is an hausa man

Abdulfatah ahmed, the executive governor of qwara state is an hausa man,

Lol. Anyway, certain things about the Ugbo people reminds me of Igbo-Yoruba pre historic connection before they both became distinct groups .
From the popular Moremi story to the Lightskin stuff to Oraife which actually looks like an igbo word.
We have Oraifite in Igboland.
Ugbo on it's own means a Bush or Farm in Igbo.
The word 'Oba' mean different things in Igbo.
I've also been able to gather words from both groups that have similar pronouciation, spelling and meaning.
Take it or leave it, these tribes are offsprings of similar Proto ancestors. I wouldn't be surprised if the Ugbo people are the last yoruba group to differenciate from Igbos and adopt a full Yoruba status.
We need to go deeper in our history.
When it comes to Nigeria, the closest relatives to Yorubas are Igbos, Idoma, Edo and Igalas but Tribalism has taken a toll on them.
and you are just realizing that? with all the hate for yoruba you possess?

I thought Oduduwa fell down from the sky.

Why is there no consensus on the actual progenitor of the Yoruba race?
So many inconsistencies in the stories. Which one I go believe now?
The name " oduduwa" refers to a lot of things.

it can refer to the deity of creation...they were two - the other is Obatala

the name can also refer to the proposed independent sovereign Yoruba nation

or the First King of Ife

the first is obviously mythical but a heavenly entity. ..hence coming from the heavens

the third which people often say came from mecca. .actually had no business with Mecca. he definitely didn't know Mecca existed.... He was a noble man from the Ora hill at the outskirts of Ile-Ife

when Oranmiyan gained wealth and power in all his adventures with the founding of Oyo and creation of a new dynasty at Bini
he returned to Ife to fight for his father's throne that had been usurped ..

any sane person will know that an African man of that time will always return home to reclaim his heritage
Oduduwa if we even agree with the Edo that he was an Igodomigodo prince, by the action of not making efforts to go there. .not even to be buried there, shows that he didn't consider himself Edo...he never considered Igodomigodo a home

so just if we agree with Edo, their argument is still silly because Ife's throne still stands above Bini in regards to Oduduwa's full allegiance and obligations to that throne and the ife people and none for Bini. ... not even oranmiyan showed any obligation to Bini

His only obligation was to Ife. ..a place he returned to, and died as Ooni and was buried. .just like all previous Omo n 'oba were buried in Ife...the last of which was Adolo, father of Ovoranmwen

The creator of you, me, the Ooni you are bowing to and every other thing. We are not bowing to the Arabs, even the Arabs bow down to God almighty. My qur'an has taught me to bow down and pray to my God cos even if I can't see Him, He can see me. I mustn't see God with my naked eyes to know that God exists. Look at your environment, do you think everything just happened by accident? If I Tell you that the phone u are using just dissappear into your hands just like that, how would you take me?
how can you verify and prove to yourself, to me and to your children that Allah of the Arabs is the true creator of the signs of the world? every religion claims it's God is true . .you all can't be right but can you prove they are right?

yes, as a yoruba man the Ooni is a God. .to every yoruba man. ... the problem with modern Ooni is that they lack the education...Yoruba education that is, to carry themselves as the yoruba culture expects them to

sure, you really don't have to see to bow, but what you do is madness. how do you draw the energy, how do you sense the sacredness and divinity? you need a physical representation. Culture › Re: Why Do Igbo People Claim Yoruba Words To Be Theirs? by macof(m): 4:05pm On Sep 10, 2016
lawani:
I broke it down for you as the old man did. It is a compound word. Igbos call white people Onye ocha while Yoruba call them Oyibo. You just like unnecessary debate. Igbos in the past were like the Koma people discovered not long ago in Adamawa. They never saw a white man until relatively recently whereas Yorubas have known white people since forever hence the name Oyibo which means those depigmented by the breeze. Yoruba use many Igbo words like Una, fufu and many others but Oyibo is not one of them. A word we have been using for thousands of years!.

Yorubas have been dealing with Europeans for over 500 years, going back and forth between West Africa, Americas and Europe. We have been dealing with Arabs since forever. There were normally Arab residents in Yoruba cities. Yoruba were traders, going to North Africa and etc dressed as Arabs. They dealt with Celts, Tuaregs, Moors and etc. So they were using that word all that time that no single free Igbo was outside Igbo land.

Then we differentiate between Oyibos, Oyibo Geesi is British, Faranse is French, Potogi is Portuguese. Portuguese was spoken well by many Yoruba in the past up till the 19th century. I will say the Germans were the Agudas. Arabs are Larubawa and etc.
you are right, yorubas were very well connected with the rest of the world

Brazilians and Catholics are Aguda. as Amaro are Spanish speaking people
funny how "Amaro" actually means liqueur in Spanish...that shows that the Yoruba and Spain traded a lot on liqueur

You'd think being educated translates to being well informed. Unfortunately the first doesn't guarantee the later.
Anyone who keeps saying we should stop blaming GEJ is being economical with the truth. The truth is GEJ wrecked Nigeria with his handling of the economy. He didn't have to blame anyone before him because NO ONE ELSE had been so clueless, dull and Ineffectual as himself.

If we still have any truly sane man doubting that Nigeria would have been long grounded had GEJ managed to rig himself in, such person needs to be constantly reminded where the Ineffectual Buffoon left us:
1. The IB was already borrowing to pay salaries when crude was selling at $75 per barrel. At $40 per barrel, what miracle will he have done?

2. The paper Economist, who supervised crashing of the economy clearly stated that Nigerians should brace up for tough times ahead the moment crude fell to around $65 per barrel. Does tough times mean merry making times at $40 per barrel?

3. Despite earning unprecedented amounts from crude, the IB couldn't grow our reserves but even embezzled what he met.

4. About 28 of 36 States were owing their workers for up to eight months in some cases and there was already hunger in the land. Why didn't GEJ bail them out? Had Buhari not come to intervene just about three months into his tenure, what would have happened to those workers then?

Recently, the Gele woman who couldn't choose to resign to protect her name, revealed in a well publicized video that GEJ had zero will to save. Where there's shame, she will apologize to Nigerians for wasting our resources in times of abundance.

Nigerians indeed lack capacity for critical thinking. And it's the reason we will continue to be taken for a ride by the looters. We see those who genuinely are working for our betterment as enemies while blindly praising the real enemies as benefactors just because of crumbs of today. This is indeed very shameful!
bla bla bla. anyone still blaming GEJ after about 30 months of leaving office for the current economic crisis is a dunce

during the last administration Nigeria was so much better than this

you screamed that buhari had the solutions to the problems we faced. ..rather than for things to get better they have gotten worse and you still out of stupidity say nonsense like this

I tried using nature to explain that the beautiful flowers, birds and sea were created by God. Then he asked me who created God because mama bird and papa bird will have junior bird and for the flowers I need to plant its seed for them to grow.. so big brother who is papa Godhuh
