BTW, who dash am power to ban? Or is that why he started this thread- to persuade seun to give him bannig powers?
Lol, I've not really known kosovo so I can't say anything on him. But I think every one has a freedom to promote the wonderfulness of Nairaland, just as we have the right and freedom to be the still, dissenting voice once in a while. Funny enough I really do kind of like Nairaland like a little, teeny weeny bit, don't you?ROTF grin.

@H202 and Mae
Come on now are you guys still on that parent dissin stuff. Y'all are my peoples and this thing ain't necessary. You guys should let it go

To the river - T'Bone ft Zhane
Lol @ winning back the teenie boppers. You have to admit "O" hasn't changed much since his B2K days, I mean physically, he still looks like, 17 grin. Saw him on the Monique show several weeks ago, sitting next to a former football player, and "O" looked half the man's size cheesy cheesy. Still think he's cool, tho'.

Listening to "Last Night (kinkos grin)" by Omarion. Love it when he says "kinkos" like a Yoruba guy would tongue.

PoliticsRe: Woman 39, Conceals 1.5kg Of Heroine Inside Hair. by maedan(f): 9:45pm On Mar 27, 2010
The hairstyle must have been too eye-catching, that's why she attracted the "admiration" of the nosy official. Too bad sha, there will be no next time, I would have advised her to do a simpler hair do that won't attract attention. Olodo. So she wants to save her own life from cancer, but wants to traffic drugs that ruin and end other people's lives. It would have been better if she had gone and robbed a bank.

ProgrammingRe: Is It Late To Start Learning Programming @ 28 Years? by maedan(f): 9:13pm On Mar 27, 2010
Na wa o, since when did someone's brain start to expire by age 28?? Isn't it easier to learn when you are more matured and exposed? If I do JAMB now (after proper study of course) I'm sure I'll pass 100%. I think I could get good marks in any course I put my mind to do, and I think telling someone he'll be a half-baked programmer because he's starting it at 28 is a strange notion for which you have not any proof that it is true. Have you done any studies on the human brain to prove this your "stern language"?

javaChief:
Is it late to start learning to play professional football at 28? A philosopher once said, 'the child is the father of the man.'
During the America/Iraq war, I was amazed at the age bracket of the America soldiers, these guys where teenagers!!! averaging 19 years.
At 28 in Nigeria, society expects you to start fending for yourself, to get your own apartment, a job, and maintain a relationship.
At 28 the most you can be (sorry to say) is a spaghetti programmer. Your brain cells are already loosing that youthful enthusiasm and quest for knowledge. The societal expectations also constitute a distraction in becoming a great programmer. At 28, should you eventually find yourself programming for a living, you will more often than not give us developers a bad name, because you will be programming in a fourth generation language without the fundamental basics. It is this basics that make great programmers. You will end up writing software that fails and make corporates loose more confidence in Nigerian programmers.

Some may argue, 'nothing is impossible,' if that were so, Jesus would have been born an adult. The creator himself acknowledges 'process.' My advise, don't join a bandwagon syndrome, look inward to yourself, what are your inherent natural gifts? make a living on such gifts and you will be fine. My apologies for my stern language.

Hybrid of many factors.
Not necessarily having all these qualities but most of them combine two or more of these qualities:
-Consistency: MrCrackles etc
-Popularity: Davidylan etc
-Love and respect: Windywendy etc
-Unique personality: Becomrich
-Quality of contribution: Ibime, Loma, Biina etc
I agree with Maedan that it may be too early to tag anybody legend, but then we can still celebrate those that have their marks on this forum, especially given the fact that online foruming itself is still young in Nigeria and NL appears to be the most successful.
Ok, cool. I do agree with u on one thing though, when it comes to "unique character", becomrich is indeed legendary grin.

@maedan,

what did the mods do to u? grin cheesy it must have been something serious.
Lol, more like, what did I do to them?? Just deprived me of my posting "privileges" mysteriously and for no reason. I guess that's the only way they can fight back when they take offence to one or two of your posts tongue. "When someone attacks, report to mod, not fight back" was the reason given. I think Seun needs to retrain these people because they are getting too trigger-happy these days.
Nairaland GeneralRe: 50 Men and Women That Moved Nairaland: 2005-2010 by maedan(f): 12:15am On Mar 25, 2010
Legends, hmm. Just what is the definition of this your legend? Is the criteria the number of posts, date of registration, or the impact and love/respect they have gained from fellow members?? I see one or two names that are deserving of some kind of recognition, but I honestly think the forum is still too young to have created/developed any "legends".

June is not that far away shocked! If they're shooting a new instalment, fine, good for them. They've already got millions of fans who will be waiting anxiously. I just hope the writer can cope, because she'll have to keep writing more Twilight books if she wants to keep up!! Remember Harry Potter? How many are there now? Ten, twelve??
