HitRun: I am surprised people are blaming Iwobi, when clearly it was the coach's fault.
It was clear that the coach needed to change tactic or formation as Iwobi and Onyeka were overwhelmed in the midfield by the superior number of Ivorian midfielders in the first half. What did the coach do? Nothing! God bless you. People just talk without even understanding what they talk about. How can you blame a creative player like Iwobi when the coach played a completely defensive tactics that gave too much ball to the opponent and made Nigeria the weaker team? |

People wey no sabi anything about football dey expect cup but we wey sabi small know say anything above quarter-final was a plus for the current crop of players. I wonder how Nigerians analyse football. So many who have limited knowledge, yet criticise like dey know alot. The coach's tactics will never favour an attack minded player like Iwobi. Dey are just criticising him unfairly. What did Lookman play yesterday? |

Hopium: You lots are too ignorant. No one has to tell you that there's a cabal fighting against the state with food inflation.
Same thing that they did with PMS and naira notes during the last election. Same thing they did with the dollar the last 10 years.
I commend the Kano State government for doing all that's necessary to relieve her citizens of hardship. It may not be conventional, and you don't have to agree with them.
We've read news of Adamawa governor banning the transport of building materials out of the state to the Cameroon. Nigeria state governor did same with the state's food supply. They are no stup!d. These governors know what they are doing. And certainly, you don't understand their situation better then they do.
If you can't see the pattern that's emerging, I can help you. cabal this, cabal that. Cabal is hoarding food, hahaha. |

matify83: This is the way to go.
Why store up food in warehouses outside of the market environment and create artificial scarcity so you can maximize profit at the expense of your fellow citizens?
As long as those warehouses were loaded by Street boys, they can always be located.
Remembered those days of "essential commodities" in the late 80's. Every hoarded commodity discovered was auctioned by the military to the general public at specified prices.
Hoarding of food should be designated as TREASON. so Nigerians and traders are to blame for govt's inefficiency? |

Civetcat: A prodigal son who is unwilling to accept the consequences of her actions. The policy is working as it is supposed to . People are learning the harsh truth. The party is over. Get up and be productive or waste away trying to benefit from what you didn’t produce . The same policies are being applied globally but why is Nigeria’s case different? As someone who left Nigeria for 10 years and came back. The greatest shock was the newly acquired taste in the period I was away. The lacasera ,Omo detergent ,Bourvita ,Gulder , had been replaced by more fashionable imported brands. People I know spend so much on leisure, frivolities and luxury in a way that I cannot comprehend. Instead of factories and cottage industries,Everywhere is dotted with mosques ,churches, hotels and event centres. The current polity highlights so many structural issues.
The upper middle class who are supposed to be the engine of the economy only spend on lifestyle; designer clothes, holidays and schools abroad ,expensive cars , beverages and Rolexes. They add little or no value while getting so much out of the system . Take a look at Alibaba and see all sort of Manufacuring plant and Machineries that are available for sale . Yet we import stuff that add no value .You can probably build to 200 small factories for the price of 100 cars parked in front of a church in Lekki on sunday.
Food security is another one . How did we manage to acquire an unhealthy taste for foreign food like rice which we do not have the geographical advantage to mass produce while ignoring our local food.
Why are citizens protecting the civil service when much of it is simply not adding any value . The salaries of civil servants and politicians consumes much of our national budget. your supposition do not in anyway make life better for the people. You seem to blame the people, like it's their duty to make Nigeria great, leaving aside the primary responsibility of the govt. Remove subsidy remove subsidy, pls who failed to build refineries and maintain the existing ones? The people? If an individual can afford a luxury lifestyle, so be it. You can't gag anyone the way and manner he/she chooses to spend hard earned money legitimate, you only raise taxes for such luxuries. |

Nvestor02: Well, Tinubu is really trying in the Aso Rock. His Confidence to remove oil subsidy will forever melt the heart of reasonable Nigerians forever.
Now, He has increased the State allocations by 41percentage and that would surely lead to building of more infrastructure in the country.
We are already seeing the good result of this because there are many federal road and state road under construction. If not the governors that have wounded local govt chairman. The infrastructure would have been taken to the lowest part.
I'm very sure that before March, another Minimum wage would have been implemented, the negotiation is already going on.
If Only Tinubu can now focus on the security and lower it to the minimum, then he will be the best president forever.
Talking about Electricity, Light will be good when Nigerians are ready for it. Vast majority of them don't pay nepa bill.
If they start paying, the Private company that's holding power will invest more and it and make electricity be 24/7. Oga, elections are over, pls come to reality. Nigerians are dying of hunger. |

You may question his competence or disagree with his policies, but he could at least clearly formulate thoughts about what he was doing. Cardoso gives me the jitters. Nigeria is in way worse trouble than it realizes with an airhead like that as CBN governor."
This part off me...
Anyway Tinubu also has a cult like following. But not as loyal as Buhari's. Many are beginning to shift loyalty! Tinubu's cult-like following starts and ends with APC supporters in Lagos. Buhari is far more democratic than he's. No lover and preacher of democracy anywhr will love Tinubu's style. |

joebeckz: Iwobi plays a silent role people don't see.
Take him out and see how we get some pressure and error from the substitutes replacing him who are to better the game.
He might be lazy but he has accurate passes. So far he's been doing what he's asked to do but needs to add energy and mark the ball a little more and most importantly stop loosing the ball at dangerous places and giving the defence task of covering his mess. Otherwise he has good passes. The coach sure knows what to do. There is a reason he keeps using Iwobi.
Check his replacements. They caused us problems whenever they came on the pitch. Aribo has been useless. Yusuf caused a penalty. I didn't see any significant improvement brining Yusuf or Aribo.
What have they done differently and where are the results to show for their performances?
We just do not have the right replacement for iwobi at the moment. Lets keep him on the pitch. At least he won't cause us penalties, he just has to stop loosing the ball and we will be fine as his passes are fine. you're spot on. Football is not all about gírígírí, Iwobi does the job silently. |

abhosts: Imagine a country whose monthly minimum wage is N30,000($21) feeling cool when their president removed fuel subsidy. The major problem we have in Nigeria is the fake and complicit intellectual class that deceive the poorly educated masses. If you see how some monkeys attacked me when I advocated for subsidy to remain, you would understand why the Nigerian masses do not deserve any pity. anyone who openly championed the removal of subsidy doesn't mean well for Nigerians. Subsidy is the only reason why a govt exists. It takes from the non-essential sectors and devotes same to the essential sectors that hold the citizens and economy. The only reason why the citizens surrendered their power to the government in the social contract is to enable the govt do for them that which they cannot do individually for themselves. Otherwise, what then is the need for govt? |

jmoore: I find it ridiculous when some folks keep repeating 'Obi also said he will remove subsidy and float the forex'.
There is a difference between words and actions. One might change plans when faced with the negative impacts that may occur.
It is ridiculous to cherrypick the one that suits you. Why didn't Kperogi say anything about how Obi promised to fight insecurity if elected? Tinubu, Obi and Atiku promised to fight insecurity. Why is Tinubu not implementing the fight? Terrorists are doing promo. Kperogi should channel his criticism only on the one elected. kperogi is just trying to be smart. What has opposition politicians got to do with your criticism of the present govt? That Obi said he will remove subsidy doesn't mean even if he removes it, and the masses are dying with hyper-inflation, he won't reverse his policies. No policy is cast on stone, so Tinubu failing to correct his poverty oriented policy is no blame of the opposition. |
