Don't be scared, those targets could be frightening but very realistic.
Don't defeat yourself before the battle starts.

Resume at the training school, you will be equipped with the needed knowledge on how to scale through.
You can even be fortunate to land in a very good branch where your colleagues will make things easier for you.

Marketing is the best job in the bank after head office functions, it gives you opportunity to grow, meet people and even have some time for yourself.
Even those in operations after a few years beg to switch to marketing.
the OP doesn't know what he's about to miss. The banking sector is all about marketing. With marketing you can't be wrong. Don't be frightened by the targets, they are just numbers which you can even surpass with lesser effort. Most marketing targets run on auto pilot. If you're lucky to be posted to a very gud branch, you'll smile all through.

Hell no.

The government has shirked its responsibility in providing a basic necessity - power.

People now avail themselves of every opportunity to charge phones, rechargeable lamps etc in public places like schools, hospitals and now churches.

Only If this will bring them to Christ!

PoliticsRe: Wale Edun's Plans To Improve The Nigerian Economy by Mandate1:
Seun:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNf97-hy7Gw

Our Finance Minister, Mr. Wale Edun, who is responsible for fiscal policy, appeared on ChannelsTV to share his plans to improve the Nigerian economy:

1) Giveaways. He spent half of his time talking about giveaways. He feels most of the excess naira in circulation has gone to the rich, so he wants to share more excess naira with the poor as well. 🤐

2) To plug revenue leakages by channelling all revenue directly to the FG and disbursing expenditures directly to intended recipients without intermediaries who might embezzle the money. ✔️

3) To increase tax collection by 70% this year without increasing tax rates and eliminating some types of tax that are unnecessary. ✔️

4) He want to pay back Ways & Means by looking for new sources of revenue. I felt that his explanation of how that would be achieved was vague. It's unlikely to happen after CBN's data showed an increase in W&M. ❌

5) Collaborating with CBN by increasing interest rates to attract FPI. I find this to be short-sighted if attracting hot money is the perceived benefit of raising interest rates and not the reduction of inflation, & FDI. Also, our real interest rates are still negative, so how will this work? ❌

Overall, Mr Edun has some decent ideas but his overall plan is inadequate to solve our problems.

I recommend inviting the economists who spoke at Proshare's Economist Conference to Abuja for a retreat where they can help him to develop a comprehensive plan that might actually work.
you see that tax collection increase, that's the primary concern of this govt. But unfortunately, you can't tax a population of people who don't have and whose means of livelihood has nosedived. Tax increment should come from creating public utilities. In Nigeria, it's the reverse.

For me, a productive nation should be interested in taxing 20m #10, 000 each, than tax 5m people 20,000 each. Nigeria should be more concerned about creating prosperity, not just tax tax tax.

Yes, govt needs more revenue, but we have to be careful not to tax people into poverty. I think president Tinubu needs to revisit his policies.

It is been said earlier and i think i also read it/heard it elsewhere. Proper monitoring of banks and BDCs is key. Monitor EVERY transaction like a hawk, let there be transparency. Use cameras. Who is transferring and collecting what and for what purpose and to where. These must be clear to have headway. The government MUST mandate 247 videos of transactions at the banks and BDCs.

You are not bright. Did you read what you posted? It says Buhari only made provision for the first 6 months of 2023. Meaning subsidy stopped in June, 2023.
so what prevented the president from introducing a supplementary budget to cater for that? We all saw the supplementary budget the govt introduced last year

Buhari removed the subsidy. He made no provision for it for 2023. Tinubu just affirmed what Buhari already completed.

Anyway, subsidy had to go.. Atiku, Peter Obi and Sowore all would have removed subsidy as well.
and you think Buhari wouldn't have reinstated the subsidy with the current inflation? Focus on Tinubu and leave Buhari.

PoliticsRe: FG Summons Dangote, BUA Over Rising Cost Of Cement by Mandate1: 3:39pm On Feb 17, 2024
chicfarmer:
The government needs to read the riot act to these cement boys. If importing cement is far cheaper than locally producing it, then the government may well call their bluff if they want to shut down. Compare the millions of artisans who would be left jobless because of the prohibitive prices of cement to the few thousands these cement manufacturers employ. Do the maths and see which is better.

Of course we don't want factories to shut down but if they become cogs in the nation's wheel of progress then they may pay the price.
I can assure you that the construction industry is right now comatose because of this cement price crisis. Think of the Engineers, plumbers, painters, carpenters, iron benders, aluminium artisans, unskilled labourers etc who are stranded at home with no means of income. This cement issue deserves the strongest direct response from the government without caring whose ox is gored!
do you know how much these companies spend in maintaining their diesel powered gen? Do dey have special market for their staff? Salary increment for staff due to economic downturn leads to all des increment u see. A govt that increased the price of petrol, an essential commodity from 160-600 can't blame private business for increasing theirs.
PoliticsRe: FG Summons Dangote, BUA Over Rising Cost Of Cement by Mandate1: 3:32pm On Feb 17, 2024
chicfarmer:
The additives in cement production which may be imported is very minimal. Naira devaluation cannot be responsible for over 120% price increment for cement. The major raw material for cement is locally and abundantly available.
This cement cabal need to be checked before they get out of hand.
they are taking a learning for everything from the govt. Tinubu came in and increased everything in Nigeria. For you, it's only raw materials that leads to cost increment. These companies pay staff, you don't expect them to pay 2022 salary rate to staff on 2024 with the accompanied inflation. The cost of diesel has increased too, even electricity is on the high side. Blame the govt and not the businesses.

If businesses unilaterally increased price without an increase in cost of production, then we will single them out for blame, not the other way round.

BusinessRe: What exactly Is The Benefit Of Floating The Naira? by Mandate1: 9:11am On Feb 14, 2024
DeLaRue:
During Buhari's government, Nigeria, through the CBN, was spending according to some estimates, more than $12billion per year to maintain 2 exchange rates N440, and I think N570 to a dollar.

That $12 billion dollars was effectively a subsidy.

By the time Buhari left, Nigeria had just about $3.5 billion in its account. It is from that amount that we have to pay our debts and pay for imports of goods.

As you can see, Nigeria no longer had the $12 billion dollars required to keep naira/dollar rate at less than N600. So the current government had no choice but to give up on trying to subsidise the naira.

If Atiku or any other candidate had won, they would have had no choice than to follow the same path.

It is like buying a BMW when you had money. If you no longer have money to maintain it, what do you do, you give it up. No be so?

Your friends and neighbours who see you taking Okada will call you stupid for giving up such a beautiful car. But, younno longer have know what they don't know - you no longer have the money to maintain the car.

This is exactly where Nigeria is at present.
the same political jargons they keep pushing out to gullibles. We don't have money to do this and that, but we have money to buy luxurious cars for senators, we also have money to subsidise Hajj pilgrimage. Mtvhew
