gentle12: Please House,My Company wants to go into a new area of investment with a capital base of $1M,and i have been mandated as the Account/finance Manager to seek a new face of investment and draw up a feasibility study and report on any way of funds investment and utilization for optimum returns.Go into real estate in a city like Lagos. Starts by buying land, make sure you have title document to the land. Survey the land and have a good layout for the land, after this you can sell the land at a margin of 25% to 30%. Make sure you reserve about 30% of the land for investment purpose. Make sure all your transactions pass through the bank, do not forget to have a good relationship with your Bank manager. After selling the land to recoup the initial investment of 1 million dollars, and having another 30% of the land in your custody. You can approach your bank for a loan of about 500k dollars for a start, in a couple a years you should be controlling a real estate portfolio of about 20 million dollars. |
manie: Bill Gate enjoyed free rent when he started sojourn in the world of entrpreneurship, Microsoft started in Bill Gate's dad garage. Bill also had the support of his parents when he dropped out of University.Gates was born in Seattle, Washington, to William H. Gates, Sr. and Mary Maxwell Gates. His ancestry includes English, German, and Scots-Irish.[15][16] His father was a prominent lawyer, and his mother served on the board of directors for First Interstate BancSystem and the United Way. Gates's maternal grandfather was JW Maxwell, a national bank president. Gates has one elder sister, Kristi (Kristianne), and one younger sister, Libby. He was the fourth of his name in his family, but was known as William Gates III or "Trey" because his father had the "II" suffix.[17] Early on in his life, Gates's parents had a law career in mind for him.[18] When Gates was young, his family regularly attended a Congregational church.[19][20][21] At 13 he enrolled in the Lakeside School, an exclusive preparatory school.[22] When he was in the eighth grade, the Mothers Club at the school used proceeds from Lakeside School's rummage sale to buy a Teletype Model 33 ASR terminal and a block of computer time on a General Electric (GE) computer for the school's students.[23] Gates took an interest in programming the GE system in BASIC, and was excused from math classes to pursue his interest. He wrote his first computer program on this machine: an implementation of tic-tac-toe that allowed users to play games against the computer. Gates was fascinated by the machine and how it would always execute software code perfectly. When he reflected back on that moment, he said, "There was just something neat about the machine."[24] After the Mothers Club donation was exhausted, he and other students sought time on systems including DEC PDP minicomputers. One of these systems was a PDP-10 belonging to Computer Center Corporation (CCC), which banned four Lakeside students—Gates, Paul Allen, Ric Weiland, and Kent Evans—for the summer after it caught them exploiting bugs in the operating system to obtain free computer time.[25][26] Got this from Wikipedia |
elvis10ten: Am not sure of the story of bill gates family members funding microsoft. But anyway there is a saying which is "UNTILL A FISH ENTERS HOT WATER, IT WON'T KNOW THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF WATER.". Because you are there you will say that, but when you are here you will know whats up. You can't compare me with seun or bill gate, etc. Their beginning and ending is not the same.Bill Gate enjoyed free rent when he started sojourn in the world of entrpreneurship, Microsoft started in Bill Gate's dad garage. Bill also had the support of his parents when he dropped out of University. |
stockbull: if truly you've been their shareholder for over ten years then, i will not agree to that, that, nothing good has come. The stock rose from one naira to four naira in the time past. The stock will increase by hundred percent this year but still want to put tools together to microview every hidden signalAs a matter of fact, I was a shareholder of Wemak for 21 years. I watched my 15 million Naira worth of Wema Bank in 2008, fall to 1.3 million Naira in February 2013. I was able to sell all my holdings in february 2013. Where were you when Wema Bank sold for N15.00k in 2008. |
Why don't you just encourage him and keep a tab on his progress rather than kill his dreams.
Nobody can kill a good dream, the only person who can kill a good dream is the dreamer. If asking questions and doing due diligence is what you call dream killing, then good luck to him in his search for investors. The best advice in business is to start small and grow along the line, it won't be a bad idea for him to even take a loan that is as small as 100k and pay back before the due date, this is just to build his credit worthiness and in a couple of months he can start taking credit facilities that run into millions. But the guy should try to build some structures, systems, policies and strategies into his business organisation. |
elvis10ten: i don't know what you are driving to. You said i should seek funds from close friends, relative, etc. I just told you i have done that. You didn't bother to even ask why it didn't work. Why it didn't work was because of my family state, i won't like to explain further. There are family members who invested their pension on their son's business, some borrowed on behalf of their brothers etc, just telling you these are the primary source of getting money for start ups, when the business starts growing you can now ask for outside investors. Who are the first people to invest in Bill Gate's, Dangote's, Buffet's even Seun Osewa's business? It is their family members and personal funds of the promoters. |
PHIPEX: This is bad news, not now that I've started making small small change from the market. How many of us young and small investors can afford to go to such "licenced companies" for data? Tomorrow they'll complain that foreigners are dominating the market. Why will they leave me in the dark partaining to the state of my shares? You can always get data from Proshare, but the data may be 24 hours late. If you need timely information you may have to pay. |
Your only asset is your ability and willingness to succeed and your God. get close to Him, he will definitely find a way for you. But try and start incorporating some structures and organisation in your business . |
elvis10ten: FOR ME TO COME HERE TO ASK FOR INVESTMENT, YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT I HAVE TRIED ALL THIS.If those people do not trust your ability, by investing in your venture do you expect an investor who does not know you from Adam to invest in your business? |
elvis10ten: FOR ME TO COME HERE TO ASK FOR INVESTMENT, YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT I HAVE TRIED ALL THIS.I am not too sure if you understand the language of business and have the pedigree of success in business, if you do investors funds will be running after you. I will recommend you attend the entrepreneurial programme of Fate Foundation, try and develop a relationship with you bank and have a successful mentor in that line of business. |
The only people who invest without doing due diligence and scrutiny are the politicians, some sports men and celebrity. A typical investor will do strict due diligence, and they don't invest on sentiments. |
elvis10ten: Then what happened to people who invest in a business idea before it start ?Yours friends, brothers, sisters, neighbours, church members and colleagues at work can do that. All investors are capitalists, although some may decide to gamble with about 5% or less of their net-worth or by investing in start ups. |
docjuli: After that crash, a lot of them came down to levels even 2k monthly deposit dey. BTW, it's not compulsory for the monthly pay.How much is the initial deposit at Investment one? |
docjuli: After that crash, a lot of them came down to levels even 2k monthly deposit dey. BTW, it's not compulsory for the monthly pay.You can even make a monthly deposit of less than 2k, but I am not sure if any will accept an initial investment or deposit of 2k. |
rareman: abeg in all these names which one can come down to levels, as in 5k monthly deposit into my account. At least the one that will help us grow. pls urgent reply will be appreciatedI think lead capital will accept an initial deposit of 50k, after this you can make subsequent investment of 5k per month. |
It is the best way to increase investors' participation in the market? |
ugodre: Nigerian Breweries has in recent years remained one of the most consistent performers in the Nigerian Stock Market. It has continued to improve on its revenues and earnings ensuring that shareholders receive steady dividends annually. This is one of the stocks that did not suffer during the melt down, but I think NB is currently over priced. |
sellydion: @maine, this is a common sense approach not for every body, If I purchase Wema at N1 that 44% discount from the previous high. The maket safety is .50k that is I can only loose 50% (ingnore charges )of my money. I am prepare prepare to take that hit in my portfolio, that is if the worse comes and the market crash or something funny happens. Business is a riskGood luck to you, used to own a little over 1 million units of Wema Bank was happy to exit after I was trapped in the stock for close to 5 years. There are other cheaper bank stocks to look at instead of Wema Bank. You are lookingf at Wema bank based on the price, have you looked at the fundamentals, growth potentials, market size, quality of management, pedigree of worker, pro-activeness of the board. Based on all these what is the value of Wema bank? |
Seun: Why?I did my research, and i was able to arrive at a value of N25.00 for FBN. I am currently buying it at any price below N20.00. I have owned the stock since 1999, and i have a policy of reinvesting my dividend and increasing my holdings on a yearly basis. |
Billyonaire: If you wanna make a kill in Nigeria, make sure you have funds to buy at least 5% of any company stock and be a Director, anything less in this clime doesnt just make sense financially. I advise people to get brokers in USA and trade with established Stocks in USA using Merryl Edge, Charlesschwab or Etrade, simply the best way to sleep while your funds keep growing.I beg to disagree Sir. |
penuelway: i bought Transcorp this year at N1 and sold at N1.72 for a client cause am a portfolio manager. Those stocks are scary. |
Biggybountz: Please can anyone give honest advice on the procedures to buy Nigerian shares when one is not physically resident in the country, I have tried the various companies' website but they weren't helpful, not sure how it can be done online.Try Stock brokers like IBTC Stock brokers, Afrinvest, Vetiva or FSDH Securities, but you will need a minimum of 5 million Naira in Shares or Cash before you can open a stock broking account with them. If you have 2.5 Million Naira, you should be able to open an account with meristem Securities. |
Seun: The stock market is currently struggling. You shouldn't invest unless you know how to read financial reports to figure out how much a company is worth. You are talking like a guru in the Business, do you know how to value a stock? Are you invested in the market? |
elvis10ten: . @ sir manie, i said we are just a 5 months old start-up.Then your business will run more on sweat equity, debt, personal savings and investment by close friends and relatives. Investors will want to structures, systems, policies and pedigree to be in place before their commit their funds. At the current state and phase of your business, I will advise you to be close to your bank manager because he may definitely be of help if you speak his language. NB the language is not Ibo, Hausa, Yoruba , English etc. If you really understand Business language. |
Thanks, i will do that.
The earlier the better. |
stockbull: happy investing house.Sold all my holdings in Wema Bank in February to increase my holdings in FBN. I have been a shareholder of Wema Bank for more than 10 years, and I am not too sure if anything good can come out of the stock. |
Currently accumulating and increasing my holdings in FBN. |
anelka101: Aims Asset Ltd,Oga na MasterIs it the one on Broad Street. |
I guess it was my account officer at that time, i was hoping to sale my shares one day, only to receive alert that they've been sold. called to inquire, was told my account was in debit.
Don't you have an alert that notifies you whenever there is a trade on your stock? Don't they forward your contract notes to your mail box. Please transfer your account from that stock broking house. |
