@papatosibe, This is one of the reasons we find it difficult to make progress as a Nation. We attach sentiment and tribalism to every single issue even when there is no reason for that. If I may take you on your statement, Kindly name two women from the good area you come from, whose records can match that of these two great women. |
Is that the best counter measure they could come up with? It didn't occure to them the same bomb can be planted in the church on saturday night before sunday service. |
Boko Haram drama at Winners Chapel •Church petitions IGP By SUNDAY ANI Sunday, March 11, 2012 A branch of Dr David Oyedepo’s Living Faith Church (also known as Winners Chapel) in Barnawa, Kaduna State, has petitioned the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar, over threat to the life of some of its members for reporting an alleged accomplice of a suspected suicide bomber to the police. According to the petition dated March 2, 2012 and jointly signed by the Senior Pastor, Bishop Mike Afolabi, and the Church’s Secretary, Barr O. Omoloba, the church’s security guards apprehended a man who allegedly attempted to bomb the church around 8:40am on January 8 this year The petitioners alleged that the man (whose identify was not disclosed) attempted to drive into the church premises but when the security men stopped him and discovered that he was carrying explosive devices at the back seat of his car, he turned back and drove off. “The security men,” the petition further stated, “pursued him but just by the side of the gate outside, a man who parked his car there followed them and was flashing them to stop. When they refused, he overtook them, blocked their way and informed them that the church said they should stop pursuing the suspected bomber.” The petitioners said the man’s action aroused suspicion, which forced the security guards to report the matter to the Barnawa Police Station, where the man who gave them the wrong information was detained. “But when representatives of the church visited the police headquarters in Kaduna on February 13 to know the fate of the man that was arrested, they found out that he had been released,” the petition stated. They said their efforts to speak with the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police on January 17, met a brick wall as they could not see him. The church expressed surprise that the suspect, who claimed to be working with the Sharia Court, Kakuri, Kaduna State, was released without investigating why he was at the premises at the time of the incident when he was not a member of the church. The petitioners stated that rather than investigate the man’s claim about his place of work, the security men who reported the suspected accomplice of the alleged bomber have been receiving strange phone calls. The unknown callers are said to be seeking audience with one of the security men as well as threatening him. The church wants the IGP to thoroughly investigate the matter in order to avoid unnecessary waste of lives. Among those copied in the petition are the Kaduna State governor, the Minister of Police Affairs, chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Police Affairs as well as the state Commissioner of Police and Director of State Security Services. |
We have short fall of mad men here in Europe, and talking about export generated revenues, Nigeria should look towards exporting some of their mad men to Europe. |
Haba! @gsmxpert, na this small thing you no Know, It is just like Father like son now or better put as the Satan wanna be. |
Ojukwu was a great man no doubt, just name one Nigerian leader that died and recieved such kind of tributes as have been given to Ojukwu, from the people that matter, the high and mighty, across the nation and beyond Nigerian Shore. That is why most times, I do not care to respond to the negative comments by few impoverished uninformed anti Ojukwus as we can see in the picture, who in their life time may never achieve what Emeka achieved at the age of 30years.

Good Investment by Sanu, China goverment is as corrupt as ours, and by the time Chin Hu will devalue their currency the more, GEJ will kick his Ass and he will have himself to blame. |
The poverty striken disoriented and disenchanted few in this forum are just busy dying in anger over every single accolade given to this Icon, when the people that matter, the high and the mighty are falling over themselves, trying to identify with the man Ikemba, atleast for one more and the last time. |
Hmmm, I can see, fraudstars have invaded Nairaland. |
With the level of corruption in Nigerian Police, I doubt if they are capable of making such a high profile arrest. If doubt, just take a trip to Kano and see how those guys on road blocks are collecting N20 from Motorists, without searching to know who and what is inside. I really feel unsafe. |
Who the hell do they think they are, soon and very soon, the people Will be forced to take up arms, and ,Nigeria Will be unbearable for all of us, they Will know that no nobody has the monopoly for violence. |
Now it is the Yorubas vs Hausas, let's see how it goes. I hear someone say one Nigeria. |
Boko haram is an ideology and they strongly believe that they are fighting for their allah, with a reward waiting for them for doing so. Even if anyone offers amnesty to them, for sure they won't accept it because the amnesty itself is haram. |
The federal govt better wake up and do something else Nigerians will be forced to make peace with boko haram and forget about the govt that cannot protect them from the wrath of the bokos. |
I know it, it is only the Niger Deltans that have what it takes to respond to boko haram, the only problem is that their own bomb no dey even fly. |
These postings are funny and at the same time objective. We may have so many criticism against our president, but really not so much on corruption and that is why his name has just appeared ones. He found himself leading one of the most corrupts party in Africa, definitely he won't come out unsmeared. |
The way things are unfolding, now I don't even know who is who, I don't even know who is telling the truth, I don't even know who to trust, oh my God I'm loosing my head, I don't even know what I'm saying now, I won't be surprise to wake up tomorrow and hear that it was GEJ himself who personally detonated the bomb in Madalla that killed over 40. |
There are people who hardly kept mute in the midst of injustice and oppression, sometimes we call them activist, and being a clergy does not deter them because it is inborn. We have can talk about clergies like Martin Luther, Desmond Tutu, even In Nigeria, we have people like Tunde Bakare, Bishop Mathew Kuka, Rev Father Mbaka etc. |
He should take it in good faith, it happened to Steve Job of Apple, He was once threw out of his own company. This is a lesson for our own Seun, He must always strive be the best at all time before someone sacks him from his Nairaland. |
This is long overdue. |
High profile suspects are usually hand-cuffed while on parade except when they are about to enter a law court, in this case, I doubt if he was hand-cuffed. Secondly, the police claimed that they were ambushed, if I may asked, how many of them were wounded or killed in the attack? By every standard, this is just a pre-arranged attack if there was any. Many people have to answer for this. Many times we blame GEJ but there so many people sabotaging his efforts. |
Abegi make them go sidon jare and stop this their hypocrisy. Have they evacuated their citizens in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq etc where there are more problems and at the same time being targeted directly. |
It is this type of killing that precipitated the civil war. How many Ibo leaders are voicing out? Ibos will surely miss Ikemba.
|
Boko Haram claimed responsibility for the christmass day bombing, and they said it was a retaliation for their muslim brothers that were killed in Jos, backing it up with so many quranic passages, We all read the post, how quickly have we forgotten. Is that this is another set of boko haram or that they are trying to retract their statement as a result of criticizism and condemnation that followered the attack across the globe even from their muslim leaders. |
The Aboki on the move. This ones, they no get cow?
|
I agree with Prof Soyinka, I think Nigeria is a Project, possibly uncompleted project or an abandon project. |
Nawa o, people just dey chop money anyhow, how things go better? |
As they are fleeing, what about their cows now? Abi these ones no get any cow?
|
Some group of Individuals in their wisdom gathered themselves together and said look, Nigeria will split in the year 2015. If at all, is it going to be a peaceful split or another round of civil war; Time will tell. |
Good move, and hopefully from there he will move to westbrom. |
