Whats the point of a lady having a boyfriend or husband yet keeping another male as bestie to share her secrets ,fears and goals with!??

Its share stupidity!

If your boyfriend or husband doesnt ve the qualities to fit in as your bestie ... Then why date or marry such a man!?

Truth is most ladies/women dont know what they truly want.

toyflare:
Warning! Long post alert!
Men get molested, and we hide it because it's either unbelievable or sounds ridiculous. My life as a kid until adulthood wasn't funny at all. First, it was the neighbor's housemaid, I was about 7 at that time and my parents were busy with work so I had to stay at my neighbor's house after school till our house maid is back from school. One day I went there, the maid called me into the kid's room and took away my clothes, made me lay down and did things I didn't understand as a child. It was confusing, and I really didn't understand what she was doing but I remember she was on top of me unclad swinging back and forth. This continued after a while, then I told mom. She didn't understand me, so I stopped going there myself and our maid told my mom she met me outside when she came back from school. I guess this made her believe me, so I had to wait in school then.

Then I was molested again by my own friend angry f4cking best friend turned gay! I was 10 then, and my friend was 6 years older. He was enrolled in a boarding school, I guess he learned the shit from there. When he came back he would always come to the house as usual when I noticed when we play, he touched my genitals and I wasn't comfortable with it. One day I went to his house, he was alone and locked up the place, said he wants to show me something in the room and I followed him. He went to the kitchen and brought a knife, told me to take off all my clothes or he will stab me. I was like haha very funny and he started swinging the knife and told me he joined a cult group and I shouldn't dare him. I was scared as fvck, took my clothes off with speed, he ordered me to lay on the bed and started the thing (can't go into detail cause it makes me sick) but I cried so much. Then after it he was like don't worry, you will start enjoying it soon. So I stopped going to his house but he kept coming to my house and I would lock my self inside the room and my dad will come knocking that my friend is here and I should come out. Then he started begging me that his not in any cult group, but was attracted to him. I didn't care to listen to him! So one day he came with a fancy toy and told my Lil bro he got it for him, but won't give it to him unless I followed him home. So my Lil bro asked me to go get the toy for him and I refused so he started crying, I couldn't tell him what was going on. He was very little at that time and wanted his toy, so I agreed to go, but my plan was to take the toy and fight with my friend if he tried anything stupid angry, so I went with my brother (my friend lives across the street) but when we got there he insisted I come in alone or he won't give it to me. My brother was like okay grin I'm going home grin. So I went in and he locked the door, I asked him for the toy and he said he won't give it to me unless I let him touch me again, I said no!!! And headed for the door, he grabbed me and pushed me to the chair I tried pushing him off but he was very much stronger than I was. Long story short, he did it again, gave me to the toy, I went to him, gave it to Lil bro and he hugged me. I went into the room and cried seriously asking God to forgive me. But it didn't stop here, it continued for years until I got older and strong enough and fought him one day before it all ended. Up till now, I still haven't told my brother what really happened.

Then again 3 years ago I was raped by my church group leader! I won't mention the church. This woman is married and older than my own mother! All her 3 kids are schooling in the UK! Her husband is a manager in one of the top oil companies ( Name withheld). At my workplace, I was working in the customer care sector and meet clients daily. Lots of sugar mummy's wanted me to be there son, some told me directly others where hiding about it but opened up later. This woman was just good to me and at the same time always preaching to me about Jesus so I didn't suspect her in any way. She invited me to her church because I just moved to the state recently and didn't have a church at that time. So I started worshipping at her church, so one day she invited me to her house fellowship and I went, after the fellowship she asked me to wait behind so I could help her tidy the place and I did before I left she gave me 4k for TP, I refused but she insisted so I took it. I kept going for house fellowship every week and she always gave me TP (4k, 6k, 10k). Every time I asked her why she gave me so much just for transport, she will say she's encouraging me because she knew I wasn't earning much.
So one day I went for house fellowship, as usual, I stayed behind to arrange the place, then took the plates to the kitchen. I noticed someone walk into the kitchen and turned off the light huh I was like, ma did you off the light? She said yes. I said okay... But I'm still using it, she didn't answer me and kept walking close to me then suddenly hugged me. I just stood, and was like ma is there any problem, she said no! And kept hugging me. After a while she let me go and I rushed off the kitchen and started gathering my stuff to go home. But when I wanted to open the door, I noticed it was locked! I searched for the keys and it wasn't where it supposed to be. I started calling for her and told her I couldn't find the keys, she said she kept it in her daughter's room I should go there and take it. I went there to look for it but couldn't find the keys, so I told her and she said she's coming to get it but she didn't come out, she was inside her room and refused to answer me. I stood there thinking of what to do next, then my girlfriend started calling me! I told her I just left the fellowship and she was shouting at me that it's almost 11 pm and I'm not back yet, I pleaded with her that we had a meeting blah blah blah. I ended the calling and started calling madam to come open her door let me go home for christ sake. The woman no gree, I called my roommate and told him the situation of things and he told me not to worry, I shouldn't answer my girlfriends call again, he will call her and tell her my phone was stolen and they beat me up but I'm home sleeping.
I was there waiting in the sitting room till past twelve before she opened the door almost unclad and was smiling at me. At this moment I was already angry angry asked her to open the door let me go and she started shouting at me before I knew it she slapped me! And my body went cold instantly. She said I should forget about going home today except I do what she says. Then the next minute she started begging me that she's sorry, she's lonely and needed someone to talk to. I couldn't say anything, as she was begging her hands were already going inside my Jeans. I was like Ma please I beg you in the name of God please stop let me go. I started preaching to her that she's married and this is evil the woman stood up and started crying that she's sorry it's the devil's hand work.
At that point, I thought everything was fine but I need to leave immediately! She told me the key is in her child's room and where to get it. I didn't trust going into that room alone, but I went anyway, the key wasn't where she said it was. And I as I was about leaving the room to go tell her, she's already at the door, then walked in and closed the door. She told me I can't go, and she hasn't had sex in a long time, so If I don't want her to tell her husband I raped her I should allow her do what she wants or she will call her husband and scream on the phone.
My eyes flashed before my eyes again, I tried talking to her again and she started calling him on the phone and put it on speaker phone so I can see she's not playing about it. I thought of going to prison and losing my job and worse ending up in the news. Then I accepted on the condition we use protection, she already had everything with her, even a lubricant! Then I knew she planned the whole thing. The sad truth is at that time I was still a virgin and never had sex with a woman.

Again sorry for the long post, but before you ask what's the name of this movie I really don't care if you believe it or not! And if you think it has no physiological effect then you're very wrong. I'm very withdrawn and find it extremely difficult to trust anyone. I have no friends! I don't ever near a church or want to hear anything about churches. (she attends a big church and I see her on TV sometimes singing praises). The moment I see an older woman I look at you in disgust, and before you say anything I'm already hating you. It's been years and I'm battling depression, so I need sleeping pills to sleep properly. At some point, I turned to drugs and later stopped because of its effects physiologically.
Being forced against your will to have sex is rape! And men get raped too and I don't think it's fun when it's a woman your mother's age and if that's a fantasy for you then you need to get your brain examined.
Bros,

I feel for you......hindsight is a better teacher.
1. You should have called your gf again and put it on speaker and threaten madam.......tell your gf to report at the police and bring them over
2. You should have called her bluff and allowed her to call her husband. It was better you dealt with accusation than allow yourself to be abused. I have always told myself that if any lady threatens to shout and accuse me of attempted rape, I will tell her to simply go on and do so. I will tell the crowd to please take me to the Police station so that I can be properly "arrested". I will tell the police that I requested to be brought to the station as I deem it a better alternative to get myself off the hook.
3. You mean you cannot physically knock her out and break the door?

dontbothermuch:
My brother, My simple point is this.

Why is a Chinese Engineering company building our port?

Can Julius Berger from Germany build any bridge in America?

Even the few construction companies in Nigeria are filled with expatriates.

I was only asking, if we have Professors in Civil Engineering that earns big and then Engineering college has existed in this country since 1932. Aren't we capable of building ports?

My brother, this is my worry, why do the Chinese company have to build our port? Any explanation to that?

Well, earlier my anger over clouded my judgment. Professors aren't to be blamed.

My brother, am sorry for the harsh words.
This is a public forum, who knows, maybe one day i might need your good advice.

One love bro.
Bros,

1. You humbled me. I apologise for my jabs.
2. Let's even dissect this point of yours.....we all can learn a thing or two
3. While I appreciate your genuine concern that we should have and probably explore Nigerian alternatives first (reference to Professors of Engineering), we also need to understand the consequences of our present predicament. Let me explain this below

We have not developed a National philosophy and value system. The Chinese is a society that we should learn from. They built everything up from the philosophy and value system. The built their culture, their way of living and their future aspirations on this. The government constantly communicates this to the people through the media, schools (formal & informal), families etc.

The Chinese regonized they had a quest to become a global leader in virtually all ramification. They did not just wake up to become a global giant; they planned for it and actioned it. The Chinese developed their education and business structures around what they knew and what they could rapidly learn from the west. When the "western" businesses went to China, Chinese workers learnt their technology and replicated it. Even though their initial attempts were deemed fake, they still persisted until they mastered it and got better at it. China's naval force is about the 3rd best in the world today. While the world were unaware, China bought a "knocked-down" Carrier from Ukraine, towed it through a longer distance to avoid the suspicion of America and Russia. The repaired the Carrier and brought it back to life. Lo & Behold! China instantly became one of the countries that have a Carrier. They reverse-engineered it and built a second Carrier that is bigger, stronger and better than the first. In a span of less than 2-decades, China became a top 3 in Naval force......

Let's come to Nigeria and contrast against China. We are doing the opposite. We have not as a nation defined a philosophy, an acceptable value system and a commonly agreed future for ourselves. We have lost so much ground in Science and Technology, only recently have we realised that we need to double-up. These Nigerian alternatives (professors) that you refer to, you will be surprised that many of them are living in "yesteryears". They can hardly survive outside their local campuses and simply cannot do business. I do understand they need more govt and private sector support, but unfortunately the world is so connected that Nigerian private sectors could be sponsoring researches of a South African professor if it fits into their aspirations.

Secondly, We do not have any Nigerian conglomerates of that magnitude that can out-compete these Chinese companies in bidding for jobs at this levels; not even a Dangote. These Chinese companies don't just go to bid for jobs, they are backed by the Chinese govt whose strategy is to use this Chinese companies as vehicels to make inroads into developing nations and foster bi-lateral (neo-unilateral) partnerships. A friend (ex-Shell) told me he once led a team to bid for Oil blocks in Angola some years ago. He was shocked how CNOC beat Shell to the deal. He later realised that CNOC was not only there to bid for Oil Block, but was Chinese govt's strategy to make inroad into Angola. So CNOC sweetened their deal with additional incentives (roads and rail infrastructure in Oil producing communities).

So within this analysis, I hope you can see the impetus for China to have rapidly developed their engineering expertise among many other areas. The question is, Have our leaders looked at things from this perspectives? Let me add a Nigerian example. In the 90s during the Civil wars in Liberia, Serra Leone & other UN-backed peace keeping efforts, Nigeria almost single-handedly went to restore peace in these countries through ECOMOG and successfully did so. After the war, aside from few greedy investments of Babangida and Abacha, we simply left. We did not even stay to take active part in their rebuilding process. South Africa that contributed practically nothing to the war came to take the "economic-spoils" after we left. South African businesses, schools, Super-markets and banks went into these countries and took foot-hold, something Nigeria could have done. It was not until post-Soludo Banks Recapitalization initiative that our banks started making forays into these African countries.

So back to your initial question. Can we have Nigerian alternatives (Nigerian Engineering firms and Professors)? Absolutely Yes! but it will have to take a painstaking rebuilding process. These are my takes

1. Our small/medium scale businesses must consolidate. We cannot compete with these international companies, primarily because they have a huge financial war-chest that we don't have

2. Our Educational system must be strategic and tailored. We need to ask ourselves pertinent questions like, How many Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers etc should we have "per-capita"? "How many Plumbers, Welders, Electricians etc should we train and certify in the next 10yrs"? How many skill-development institutions should we have as a minimum per-local-govt? What is volume of funding can drive our aspiration and what portions should come from govt and private sector?

3. Govt needs to come in and help. Most Chinese conglomerate are actually govt funded and stimulated institutions. The Chinese Chamber of Commerce gets investible funds (I understand this fund is pushing up to a trillion Dollars) from govt through which they make available to Chinese conglomerate for strategic purposes. Chinese govt got small companies to combine forces to ward-off western incursions. In some cases govt fund a local company up to match foreign competition. Look at the case of CNN vs. CCTV. Why can't our govt get Channels TV, AIT, TV Continental to combine forces with govt facilitated funding to fight DSTV? Same model can then be replicated in areas of infrastructure, road and ports construction, Medicine, Agric, Oil and Gas etc. OBJ govt tried to do this with the Transcorp experiment but greed later set in and things fell apart.

Let me pause here to invite folks to contribute

Have you looked at the business development plans for the Ports in question? Do you have any idea of the economic development plans of Edo state?

I can bet my life...there will be action. It is in China's interest to have a deep water port in Nigeria....1. to in erase their exports to Nigeria and beyond and ....2. to ship raw materials in larger volumes back to China. At the end of the day...do I have to say who is going to control the port?
Well done?...how is Edo/Nigeria going to benefit? ..will they be taxed?/what concessions were they given?
All these agreements.....politicians never go to make market for Nigerian products...never go to get modern equipment and training of our youths to operate them...but always be going to sign MoU set out by China. We are really moving forward...really?
You started to a thought-provoking trajectory but deviated into emotional and ridiculous reasoning. Well may be your lack of exposure can be excused as the reason why you think Obaseki and his team will just sit at a negotiation table and come out empty grin

What the Cross Rivers governor should have done for his state I stead he wants to turn Tinapa to University Issssorite!
Unfortunately Tinapa is a monster......a whole lot of mess was made during the preliminary stage, a lot of issues were overlooked that came back to hunt them. Tinapa may never be a FTZ or whatever it was meant to be. Rather than lying in waste, it's better to convert it to something salvageable

Has anybody heard of the Chinese debt trap. Please research you will see we are headed there.
Can it be any worse that the IMF and the Paris Club slavery? Provided we can put infrastructures that can sustain growth and pay back on the long run, we will be better than being backward.

The biggest representative of Africa and blacks fly around the world begging for funds. Is this something to cheer about? They take loans from the Chinese. They sign the contracts with Chinese companies to build. The Chinese companies build and get paid by the Chinese banks. In all, the money never leaves China but Nigeria is on the hook for the loan. A beggar has no choice and Due Process is flung out of the window. What is in it to rejoice about? Africa has all the minerals for self-sufficiency but don't know how to harness resources and manpower to be affluent. Let me see how Africa will borrow her way to greatness.

Take a closer look at how much the Nigerian government use to service her foreign loans annually. The amount is very staggering and they keep borrowing. Oh well...

Nigerians are cheering their leaders. They should take a cue from Venezuela and Turkey. When the creditors cook up stories to hit Nigeria, will the people be able to live with naira at N1000 per US dollar?

You have put up here a whole load of shi.t!, infact bull.shi.t!!!

So you will rather stick with pride than to address our deficit and pursue development? Did it bother to concern you how we got to this precarious position in the first place? If we had built infrastructures, will we be begging China at this stage? What is bad in taking loans to address our infrastructure deficit?

You made reference to Venezuela and Turkey, two unrelated examples that bears no semblance with our situation.

I would commend them when I see it in construction
I would rather commend because of two things

1. It's a well-thought out idea to maximize advantages of our water-ways to push trade into the interlands. Even if Obaseki cannot finish it, the next governor will (should) continue. At the end, the economy of Edo State will receive a tremendous boost
2. When states are able to attract foreign Capital, it can only drive our economy northwards.

It's all of the parties not just APC alone. Left to me I'll say all of our politicians

All APC know how to do is deceive the Mass using the media as a vital instrument. Believe this news at you own risk.
Unfortunately that is why some of you guys are a lot worse than the politicians you seek to deride. Obaseki is seeking to get investment to build Edo port, that is a problem to you? Why is it that you lot want instant gratification rather than sustainable investments? The Lekki Deep Sea port and FTZ that currently being built with Dangote refinery was conceived and MOU signed during the twilight of Bola Tinubu as Lagos State governor. Fashola came and kickstarted it. Ambode is continuing...... who benefits most? Lagosians and Nigerian. Are you not even as forward thinking as to imagine a world where each state will be self-sustaining?

Aren't you guys tired of signing? Action please
...and what action are you expecting at this stage? They should just build anything without concrete arrangements?
