Hi Sllekfun,

Do you still have the 120k at Lambe?
PropertiesRe: Yotomi Estate @ Mowe , Ofada 2br Bungalow Is For Sale. 2.350million by marabout(m): 3:55pm On Aug 25, 2010
Day 11,

I have had a look at your webpage for yotomi Estate. Looks interesting BUT please resolve the issue of distance from Lagos. Someone posted that it's 1 hour 3o minutes from Lagos (he drove there).
The distance may not be an issue for some as long as they know before hand.
Inyour webpage, completed bungalow are shown. Is that the tupe you will be allocated once you have fully paid or they will start constructing one for you after payment?

There is no price on the DIASPORA BUNGALOWS (2 bedrooms)! can you shed more light on this. Is the Diaspora ones exclusively for diaspora people or that is just a marketing slogan?
Will there be boreholes sited there? From the pictures, you cannot fence your own property all round as they are not detached but can you fence the back of your bungalow?

Are people already leaving there? How motorable is the road leading directly to the estate in rainy season?
As for the Diaspora Bungalows, do you have any representatives who can collect money on our behalf in UK/Europe or USA?
Thanks.

Baba Iyabo talk true sha,

BUT wait oh, who has contributed the most to put our house in disorder?
AS a single individual, after IBB, it must be Baba Iyabo next.
Although truth is good, you should be consistent, not selectively truthful and selectively amnesic.
You had 11 years in total to put our house in order, you didn't.  Ok the first 3 years were ok: Festac, fighting apartheid, M. Mohammed airport, agriculture, return to demoCRAZY etc. But 2009-2007 were awful. Even GSM and debt cancellation cannot mask it. Although ITT and unknown soldiers (Mama Fela) cases still tainted his first coming.
PropertiesRe: Land For Sale In Lambe For Just 500k by marabout(m): 3:04pm On Aug 24, 2010
Thanks James for size clarification.
Some say Lambe is in Ogun state. Is it Lagos or Ogun state?  It matters in terms of Land Bureau search and other costs. Is it actually Lambe or Olambe. How motorable is the road in rainy season?

Please volunteer other relevant information.

I think many estate people (except HSL and a few others) here are very sketchy about details. Good details enable potential buyers to weigh up things properly before deciding to call or not. That prevents anybody's time and money from being wasted.

Thanks

When you say half plot or full plot, what are the exact measurement in meters? Not everyone is a property guru,

Is your half plot  9m by 18m or normal 18m by 36m (60 x 120)?

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Odemwingie Gets 3 Year West Brom Deal by marabout(m): 11:34pm On Aug 21, 2010
Mama-gee,
he needs to start somewhere in EPL. He's likely to play every week if he's fit. Okocha was able to prove his class with Bolton by playing weekly but might not have been given enough playing time @ ManU, Chelski, Liverpool or Arsenal. Simply because if you have more expenive players on the bench, managers need to use them to justify the pricetag or everybody would see it as signing the wrong and expensive players.

BusinessRe: Information Minister Insists On Low Call Tariffs . by marabout(m): 9:20pm On Aug 13, 2010
This Dora self these days.
Where is NITEL (or the corpse of it) in all this communication thing? Can the government run a telecom company? NO. Provide reliable electricity? NO. Run airline? NO. Run national oil company without becoming insolvent? Fa fa fa foul.

If NITEL was run properly and every household had land line like other serious countries have, will anyone spend so much money (if not on the go or emergency) on mobile phone calls? NO. In fact mobile phone companies will be forced to offer competitive prices. Telecom companies are confident that the FG cannot even run a kindergarten, how dare they ask for low prices? Can you blame them?
Companies know what to do. They can just "settle" some officials and everyone will be silent so they hike prices again.
SportsRe: Siasia Wants N15m Per Month To Coach Eagles by marabout(m): 9:03pm On Aug 13, 2010
SIASIA is NOT GREEDY. All those senators that get over 1M dollars yearly, what kind of honours have they ever brought to Nigeriahuh
SIASIA has brought a few medals so far.
All the  £150M jets for the madams of government officials to go on shopping spray in Dubai, what honours will they bring to Nigeria??

If anybody deserves a Gulfstream jet, then it's SIASIA. He should also ask for one afterall his mrs is not banned from shopping in Dubaigrin grin grin grin.
If they cannnot pay him, let them look for another mediocre European coach: he can be called Gulder, Heineken, Becks or any kind of lagerbeer grin grin grin

The only reason NFF officials cannot or don't want to pay up is to have enough to transfer to their own accounts in London, Zurich, Paris, Channel Islands and the Bahamas. Idiots. grin grin grin
Since everybody is out to exploit and rape the country to death, why should SIASIA just stand akimbo and watch them? Is it not you chop, I chop system? Next topic please.
CultureRe: Pictures Of Great African Kings by marabout(m): 3:26pm On Aug 10, 2010
Hi All,

Don't be fooled by the person who compiled the pictures. Typical ignorant westerner who publishes things believing he knows better. Instead of asking those who know better. While Olowo of Owo and Ooni of Ife are correct pictures, those pictured as " Kings in Benin Nigeria are Dukes or equivalent NOT KINGS. There is Only one King in Benin not like the larger Yorubaland where many kings/obas exist.
How can i be sure that many of the other non-nigerian kings are not only just duke or earl/count, viscount, baron equivalent?
NONESENSE.

My African American sister,

I don't know of any easily accessible king. Authentic kings are not easily accessible. I know of a couple of princely dukes. That is, they descend from real kings maybe 150 years or more ago. As such they can rightly be called princes and their kids are certainly called princes/princesses.
So instead of being say "king of California", they will be say Duke of San Jose, Duke of Santa Monica, Duke of LA, Duke of San Francisco etc. Being second born, third born sons etc, their ancestors were created dukes long ago to give them their own domains within the kingdom since only the crown prince will become king.
As dukes, they of course have access to the king. The white european wife of one such dukes (who's a relation) told me last time how she met the king on her visit to Africa. The duke lives partly here in europe.

@pethan,

Sometimes there are just too many mouths to feed and the mother of the family may have to go hungry or soak garri and drink.  Not unusual to see mums say " as long as the kids have had enough to eat, i too bellefull".

Not everyone has a lot of money. Some of us sitting comfortably in London, NY, Toronto, Ikoyi, VGC, Maitama and co may not remember this.

Last time i checked, the Mayor of New York was a visually impaired black chap.
RomanceRe: Leave Me, I Am Not In The Mood ! by marabout(m): 9:29am On Aug 06, 2010
@ Poster,

People have suggested many things already. Some useful, some funny.
First all only you know her.
But consider the following:
(1) for many people, intimacy (desire to have), dwindles after a few years together. She may be feeling more like your friend now.
(2) She may be wondering "intimacy na food?" Why does he want it so much? She may not have dated many guys before you snapped her up and may be inexperienced regarding men's high intimacy drive.
(3) Having househelp does not mean that she cannot be tired at the end of the day. Is she working? Does she get stressed up by her job or hate her boss?
(3a). Do you think you have really been a good lover in bed? That is, do you consider and know what makes her let everything out in the act? If not it may have been a one-sided pleasure over the years and a chore for her. My bother am not doubting your abilities, no man can honestly boast of it, because we were not brought up to know such about women, it has been learning on the "job" for most of us Africa men. I cannot imagine an African dad telling his son how to elicit "center of gravity/erogeneous zone".

(4)Lack of libido is a common sign of depression. We highly stigmatise psychiatric illness in our society. Yet it is common. "Am not in the mood" may also mean mood instability. You got to check that out. Has she lost weight, eats much less or much more than before? Does she appear as happy as she normally is?
(5) depending on where you live, you may seek help from a therapist together: family therapist for example. A friend's marriage was seriously heading for the rocks last year. I had to persuade both to seek help urgently. Now the wife says it's like they  have just got married now.
(6) knowing the stigma about female infidelity in our culture, our women are still very careful about wanton and sustained infidelity especially when they have kids with you. So don't assume she's doing anything funny outside. Good luck.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Leader Threatens To Keep Troops Out Of Un Missions by marabout(m): 2:03pm On Aug 03, 2010
GEJ should not only withdraw our soldiers from UN peacekeeping but also from all other monkey engagements in ECOMOG and elsewhere, cut technical aid to other "poorer" neighbours and send refugees packing. Afteral Nigerians get deported everyday. . It is time to look inward. Look after the citizens, provide amenities, provide jobs, healthcare. social safety net and drastically increase life expectancy.

That is how to genuinely win international respect.
If no more Nigerians (except extremely greedy few) go drug trafficking in China/middle east (and get beheaded), no more crossing Sahara desert on foot (and being turned into sandwich by Ghadafi), no more having to endure xenophobia in South Africa, Russia, Ukraine/Eastern Europe and racism elsewhere, then that would be a big step forward.

Whatever amount of billions Naija now expend on international aid/peacekeeping, no one values it.

Time to stop "bigmanity" when people care suffering at home.

SportsRe: Nigeria Vs USA: 4 - 2! @ Women's U-20 World Cup by marabout(m): 5:45pm On Jul 26, 2010
@JIY,

I am happy that there is someone who also knows that Naija footballers are not always age cheats. I find myself defending naija footballers against other nationlaities here. They all think naija footballers were born in the 18th century!
Imagine that Arjan Robben and Zenedine Zidane were born in Nigeria, no body would believe their age. Both got bald by the age of 25.

Some naija players may genuinely not know their real age. There may be a few cheats here and there. Those SE players of the 1980s, some were born in villages.  I cannot imagine the Baale of the village  recording DOB at the time. Some only first thought of the issue of age or DOB when first applying for an international passport. Some people here on NL may still remember a time when before admission to primary school, you were asked to take your right hand over your head and touch your left ear. If you could, you were deemed old enough. Imagine Aki and Pawpaw were in that situation!
Some people who have a large and muscular constitution may look older than their age. Somebody from a foreign country who claims to be in his 20s but looks at least 40 was also claiming that naija players shrink their age. Wonders shall never end.
PoliticsRe: South Africa Deports 47 Nigerians by marabout(m): 1:29pm On Jul 22, 2010
@RSA,

You may be right that some of those deported may have been illegal or done something wrong but YOU must admit that there is a general hatred towards Nigerians. I do not believe that Nigeria has a higher percentage of criminals and murderers than South Africa.
Wole Soyinka, a Nobel Laureate known worldwide was harrassed at a South African Airport.
I rememer that Archbishop Dr Desmond Tutu told us years ago in London (he was our guest professor) how much hospitality he received in Nigeria over the years.
He even said that it was in Nigeria in the 1960s that he first saw an aeroplane manned by an all-black crew and the immense satisfaction and inspiration he got from seen it as a proof that blacks are capable of doing such things. Of course he was there to canvass for help against apartheid.  I think black South Africans bought in to the prejudice that white south African has against Nigeria for strongly opposing apartheid.
We have to forget history and move on. Nigeria should stop sending troops, technical aid and free or cheap oil to other African countries. After doing so much, all Nigeria gets is ridicule. Focus on solving problems at home first. Make your citizens OK at home and others will respect you. Then they won't go away to suffer abroad.
Many people on this forum are privileged and cannot imagine the life of many poor and desperate people who see going abroad as the last resort. Many know of untapped opprtunities at home, they are not fools. Where is money to tap into it? Most can only raise money with the prospect/promise of making enough abroad to repay or replace the sold land/house.
Of course many go abroad not knowing the reality over there but how many governors' or ministers' children try going abroad through the desert?
People should be talking of enlightening people about the realities abroad. But if they think things could not be worse abroad, would they heed?
