Careytommy, You no tire. Yeyeh gadaffi closed his embassy and Nigerian diplomats still tanda in Libya. They have no shame. Maybe Naija gofment kept the embassy open to pander to a certain religious group in the naija. Which serious country will keep her embassy open when another country doesn't value you enough to maintain one in your country? Since they have no shame, Gadaffi for kukuma deport those yeye diplomats from Libya. Nonsense. Gadaffi has always been a lunatic. I wonder if he doesn't eat babies for breakfast. ![]() |
mr whyky, can your person (the one looking for) specify the purpose of the acres? is it for large scale farming or what for? what amenities should be nearby or is it totally irrelevant if it's some no man's land with no road other than a narrow footpath? want land across a fast flowing river without a bridge? And 120 acres? For that budget, you will struggle to get anything reasonable. In one village where you could literally get land for free 25 years ago, a plot is now 100k. In fact people are unwilling to even sell now since tarred road and electricity got there. So watch out when people offer you things here online. |
At Solozzo, Actually Nigerians sent to give technical aid do a pretty good job. Nigerians have served as Attorneys-General in many African countries (e.g. Gambia, Botswana) and they improved the judicial system to be speedier than Naija's. In a different environment without the culture of rampant corruption, Naijas do an amazing job. Naija sent 60 professors to Ethiopia only a few years back. No report of them asking for Ethiopian girls' congos to pass a course/paper so far. .I do not suppose that you have introduced corruption to your neighbourhood and place of work in Australia. So most Naijas can behave themselves Hippocrates, Galen, Paracelsus and Vesalius would be proud of the Naijas I see everyday. |
People, Adultery, sexcapades happen every day and the world will not end. Abraham did it albeit with Sarah's nod. Women have dirty fantasies just like men. Some carry it out. Most women never get caught because they are far better liars than men. Only a woman knows the true dad of her children. We men are just blind mumu and quite often misplace our faith and trust. Some African men believe that once a lady is pregnant, she doesn't feel Hot anymore. Many women have more libido during pregnancy. If you don't realise that, they will carry their congo to the Ahmeds of this world for proper shining. ![]() |
Dear Parent, The lecturer needs to be shamed. Equip your child with a secret recording device to record all the indecent proposals of the lecturer and confront him with it after making a copy of it somewhere. That's the best way to ensure it's a true story. Give it to the media if possible. But do so after he has stopped harassing your daughter and she has graduated. Such lurid activities should not go unpunished. |
@ Poster, You are doomed if you do and you are doomed if you don't. I refused a babe years ago and that was the end of our friendship. A girl in love is not rational. Sitting her down will not work. She has thought about this matter for years and if she could have avoided it she would have. If your current relationship is not a serious one then you may consider her offer. If you are in a strong relatioship with marriage prospect, then you might as well kiss her friendship goodbye. Tought but reality. |
Lansha2006, Please give your prices so that nobody's time is wasted. if you give prices, those looking for property in ur price range may contact you instead of first calling to discover that it's not the type they want. Some NLs are in Iceland, Argentina, Fiji, China, Ukraine, Western Europe, Okitipupa, Arochukwu, etc, so calling rates differ. Thanks. |

Plapville, If your budget is 1m, then you can get a decent land but a bit outside. An in-law's friend was struggling to secure land for that amount 2 years ago off Sapele Road. If you want 100 X 50 for that amount, then the better the location. 100 X100 in good area will be hard to get. I nearly fell into the hands of on man who later became an infamous thug for Lucky Igbinedion (very powerful during Lucky's governorship) 16 years ago when he offered land in GRA for sale for 1m. Like you said caution. Good luck. |
The one a relation's neighbour had for sale a while ago was at Ugbihoko, apparently an area becoming popular near Evbuotubu. If you are interested in that area let me know. So I can make more enquiries about availability. But be careful with land matters generally. Land is scarce resource and there are some dodgy elements trying to exploit it especially around Ugbor area. |
My experience is that ladies who have nothing to offer apart from selfishness, arrogance & ota piapia have the longest wish list. People are talking of intelligence. How do you assess intelligence? Is it based on his occupation as a lawyer, medic, accountant or what? Is a rich Lagos banker more intelligent than a skilled but poor herbalist in Oshogbo who could have become a fantastic surgeon if he had the opportunity? How many ladies here can listen to a man for two hours talking about two great men in antiquity like Mark Anthony & Julius Caesar? How many would have the patience and interest to listen to a guy discuss the merits of christian eschatology (in non-holy ghost fire and alleluia format)? I have only seen it among white ladies (middle class I might add). Our ladies don't verse that much irrespective of their level of education. The number/type of degrees you have is irrelevant Knowing who's intelligent requires a high level of intelligence too. |
All that is peace talk. A very naive attempt to win over Babangida's supporters. Our brothers in the North can see through their scheming. Trouble is the former Maradona has dribbled the whole field only to come back and score an own goal. ![]() Anyone relying on his supporters will also score an own goal. ![]() I am sure they will not support someone who will only prop up the feudal system. |
True Dayo, The hypocritical hear no evil, see no evil illusion when we are literally sewing buba & shoro with evil. If anyone was to admit it, the same people who patronise love-peddlers would condemn them the most. |
Dayokanu, regarding love-peddlers, a sizeable number of our undergraduates love-peddler themselves. Some female bank workers are actively in it. That's no secrete anymore. I guess there are more "respectable love-peddlers" out there than those who have " taken a curtain" in hotels. A lady (married or single) bleeping her boss (to keep job, get promotion or money) counts as prostitution in my book. So prostitution is an acceptable thing these days EVEN IF ONLY SUBCONSCIOUSLY. |
Girls are more difficult to train because we set different standards of behaviour for boys and girls If you heard that your 16-year old son has bleeped 3 of the most pretty young girls in the street, many average dads would be secretely admiring him: "he's quite a stud this boy." Even if he openly rebukes him. If a daughter does same, God help her and her mother. Many Arab and Hausa/Fulani folks have gone beyond circumcision: they just marry them off at 12 or 13 before the thing begins to itch them. In terms of cost of bringing up girls, it's just modern vanity that even their mothers (and lots of men too) have taken to a different level. |
I don't generally give cash. I mean to beggers here in the West but I do ocassionally go to the nearest KFC or McDonald and pay for their order. Usually if I am not in a hurry. If you offer to buy guguru ati Epa or any other food for someone and he says no, then you know he's been used to make money. Please remember what Jesus said in: Matthew 25: 35-46. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,f you did it to me.’ 41“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42" For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ 45Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ 46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” WHETHER YOU TAKE THIS LITERALLY OR NOT, IT CERTAINLY HAS A MORAL MESSAGE.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
Awwwww. But OP, if everyone starts giving lots of money to orphanages, you will soon see bogus orphanages springing up everywhere like churches (God Punish Devil Church, Earth-Wind-n-Fire Church, Water-from-the-Rock Miracle Church, Pharaoh Perish in Redsea Miracle Church, Staff Turned to Snake Miracle Church, etc). Some will just gather their children, their neighbours' kids, nieces and nephews, rent a rundown bungalow in Ajegunle and pretend to be an orphanage. If boosting the "entrepreneural ingenuity" of some people is your aim, then it is welcome. With NASS only managing to pass 24 bills almost all relating to appropriation or other kind of jamboree and you chop i chop self-serving venture, chickens will grow teeth before they lift a finger. Anyway those who really want to give to orphanages can still do so in a discrete manner or contact Aisha or any other public spirited person. |
Mrs Eve, Hahahaha, if you call someone's life experience poo, then expect same. It's no curse. You are funny. No way. God has already done that long time ago. I may be saving your life (using God's gift) some day, who knows. I worked/learned long and hard for my skills here in the west, so your wishes cannot work. Try someone else love. If rubbing shoulders with some of the best minds the white folks have to offer is slavery, then I rather like it. I am married to a true African queen. Not some foul-mouthed internet-do-me-well. |
@ Mrs. Eve, True it is really poo for 30something year old blackwomen to be using foul language to describe another woman, black or white. You see, the fact you claim not to care if dudu boys date white girls (assuming it's true), it doesn't mean some of your sistas don't. MRS. EVE: Finally, may your true life experiences be regarded as Big Poo when you narrate them to others. AMEN. |
y me sweetie, i wonder oo. Maybe some people like pretentious log of wood in bed. |
Mr Cork was the GUEST of DISHONOUR at the World Congress of Witches & Wizards that took place recently in Benin. ![]() |
I do not want to support the poster BUT some African men lost their lives or got injured for dating white chicks in WESTERN EUROPE in the early 90s. If you lot live in London, Frankfurt, New York, Madrid, Amsterdam in 2011, you may not realise it. Only 15 years ago, when a white chick got pregnant for my mate her mum said during one of our crisis meetings: "don't get me wrong, am not a racist or something and I don't mind black people living in our country but I just don't accept that they should be dating my daughter". That is the closest English translation of what she said in her language. Actually black women are more guilty of this kind of jealousy. I was at an African do 11 years ago in London. My then girlfriend was the only white girl present. There were also three or so Indians. I was surprised at how people live parallel lives. Ol' boy come and see how black girls/women were behaving. Two ladies sitting near me who didn't know she came with me (as she was dancing on the floor) were saying in pidgin: "uhuun, so this this white woman still find black prick reach here"? The other one said " no mind am, you no know how toto dey scratch them". Then later another black woman with a stony face and bad attitude was questioning her(my ex) about where her children (who were running up and down in the hall) had disappeared to just because they were dancing with my ex 30 minutes earlier. My ex broke down in tears asking why all the black women here hate her. We left the party. It was a disgrace for blackwomen that day. I tried to polish the whole thing saying that its just her impression and that if she just gets to know them, they are all actually very sweet. Funny enough my Ex would request for 3 or 4 agency workers daily (Naija 95% of the time) at work and would let them leave 1 or 2 hours before time and pay them saying that she knew many were doing 2 or 3 jobs and were often tired. @ Diva2.0. a black man suddenly becomes eligible to our black ladies once he's stepping out with a white chick, whether he's ugly or not. |
@ harikiri, There are happy marriages o. Although you need to define "happiness". It is subjective. Is it a man having his food ready, spreading himself on the sofa, watching EPL on Sky while guzzling Stella Artois OR overall happiness/wellbeing of your kids and better half that give you a lot of joy? I think long term, it is no more "jigi jigi like railway feeling" of earlier days. Love becomes more realistic: trust, friendship, knowing each other, caring for each other, everyone playing his/her role. Intimacy may not be daily anymore (remember kids are now involved) but perhaps of better quality. A child with fever sleeping in your bed so you can monitor his/her temp better overnight is more important than a sizzling night of passion. A lot of challenges come. Quite a lot of things come in the mix. It depends on how you can adapt to these things and consistency of faithfulness to your partner irrespective. |
Actually training your wife and then disappearing later is not unique to imported broads. I know of a businessman in naija who trained his wife at uni after having 4 kids or so. She left him after becoming a pofessional. The good man was suddenly not good/educated enough for her. She gave no reason at all, no quarrel, nothing. Despite entreaties by her friends and family she left. Although she came back to beg after many years to come back, the man refused. That happened in the 90s in naija. |
@ POSTER, since your lady is internet savvy (you met on facebook), I hope she stumbles into NL, recognises herself and give us her part of the story. ![]() Seriously if what you have said sofar is true, it all went too quick. You may not be aware of how damaged by previous relationships she is. It takes years to know even half of a woman's history. They only tell you what they want to tell you and makes them look good. She doesn't respect you enough: common with high calibre job dudu women. Many have indicated on different threads here on NL that they want a man with a higher status/job than them. Her mum doesn't appear to be a very good example in terms of managing a relationship/marriage. Divorce is fairly uncommon in people (Naija) old enough to be parents to a 32 year old lady. Not saying divorce was only the mother's fault but her (mother's) domineering attitude would not have helped her marriage. I don't think your pocket is deep enough. As you said she supports her parents so you have to pick up the tabs. A common problem due to caring for family members. The average doctor has plenty of opportunity to meet people: at BMA meetings, drugs company reps, social functions, conferences, seminars, visits to Naija (in her case), to resort to internet/facebook for a husband and planning marriage in record time is rather interesting. ![]() Be wary of anybody who's desperate about biological clock clicking tick-tock, tick-tock OR indeed anyone remotely interested in securing papers as a motive. ![]() |
I think that not everyone is meant to stay in one marriage lifelong. This applies to both men and women. Some people naturally get bored easily vows or no vows. Often when relationships/marriages fail, both parties are hardly innocent even if only one goes out and cheat outright. The marriage must be already lacking something even if they didn't realise it. In diaspora, the influence of family back home is much less. At least back home, there is always someone in the family you respect: dad, mum, uncle, aunty, godmother/father, or even a friend or trusted family pastor, who can always talk sense into you or your partner. That social support network is often lacking or minimal in diaspora. Most often ladies see this as a kind of liberation. But liberty like most things always come at a price. I have always suspected psychological/psychiatric conditions in many black people doing various crazy stuff. But it is so stigmatised in our culture that people don't seek help. I really dread the time when most diaspora naija kids will be growing up in conditions familiar to many Caribbean kids today: single mum households, large turnover of boyfriends. Terrible prospect. The level of aggression, quest for many women (sex addiction?) etc could mean that many actually need help. |
Jenifa, if the men you know here sleep around like dogs, then you associate with questionable people. Change your environment. I don't move with such men. My better half knows what I can do and what I cannot do. I don't have any reasons to hide things from her. Am no angel but such don't freak me, |
Jenifa, Indians don't stay all in India. They are more successful than us in marriage and all. They take the best of western culture like education etc and mix it with family values etc and voila, they have a winning formula. I am in their midst daily so I know what I am talking about. Not copying everything another person does is not hatred. It is maintaining one's identity while taking the best from others. |
Buzugee, We all have to face the modern reality of Tensor77's "western balance of power" that a lot of naija marriages will hit the rocks. As time goes on, we would be lucky if 50% of diaspora marriages survived the first 10 years, so 70% of imoported ladies' marraiges surviving isn't that bad. We should brace ourselves. Don't fool yourself that doing washing up or washing your wife's underpants is a panacea. Some blame men who train their wives to become RN while driving a cab. In reality, any decent man would like his wife to be able to look after the kids should the worst happen to him. A lot of those cabbies training their wives are seen as "not improving themselves". What some NLs forget is that many came abroad from poor homes and had to sustain many relatives at home essentially sacrifing their own comfort for others. In our modern self-centred world, that's foolishness. Ajebutters only see life from a narrow perspective. I have seen how very talented, even educated naija end up cleaning tube stations. That some of us have been lucky to have western education, even elite in some cases, doesn't mean we should rubbish others. I was talking to a physician sometime ago. He was rather angry that some naija come here and start hussling anyhow. I reminded him that not everyone has a medical degree in the pocket from home , on HSMP, had parents who where both professionals and all those people too have to survive as long as they eschew crime. Those hustlers here are possibly one of the reasons why civil war has not erupted back home as they remit money to families. |
