Hapi,

Before addressing the 30 yearss that your muslim notherners ruled Nigeria with nothing to show for it, and admiting that your people (the bock tooth of Minna, the Kanuri tyrant now being seriously tortured in hell fire and the rest) wasted/looted our southern wealth, you should not have the temerity to even open your gworo mouth and ask any christian to admit anything.
You can ask your feudalistic lords to cut you people out and form another country like Niger. Nonsense and ingredients. hisssssssssssssses.

Romance / Re: What Is Wrong With Marrying A Jehovah's Witness? by marabout(m): 4:45am On Jul 22, 2011
Witnesses have very strict rules regarding religion and everyday life BUT you must give it to them that they try to justify them with the bible.

They have been some of the nicest people I have met(speaking from my experience in times of difficulty when others deserted).

Poster, what is this your dream you're talking of, to also have private jets funded by poor brethren?? Vanity.

Jehovah's witnesses' simple life shows to us that all the rush for money by any means/corruption is all vanity.

I have worked and dealt with Witnesses both home and away, they are morally head and shoulder above the average person on the street. Any bad egg is an aberation.

Why are you not a witness then if they are so good NLers might ask? Well, honestly I have not had the courage to turn away from family type of christian tradition, pretty much like this poster BUT I didn't have any extra incentive like a lovely lady witness unlike this poster LOL.
Family / Re: I Am Sad by marabout(m): 9:45pm On Jul 18, 2011
SaraMaria,

I think because your house/marriage is too peaceful, you're trying to manufacture some unhappiness for yourself.
It was exactly why i did not marry a white lady. To much suspicion. I was engaged at various times to white ladies.
Me and the first got engaged to spite her parents who were "card-carrying" racists. Deep down I knew that I could not marry a girl with so much opposition from her parents. At some point, they will succeed in seperating us.  I am practical person. You have surmounted those initial huddles and things are going just great.

The second girl would be asking all kind of annoying/demeaning questions whenever she came back from visiting parents.
Once she told me of a conversation with her parents. They said I needed papers from her, she told them that he has the same passport she has, then they claimed that I must want her money: she defended me that in fact I have shown her how not to waste money including saving up for mortagage or investment. Then they claimed that I must need something from her. YES I NEEDED SOMETHING IN DEED: just old fashioned love.

These marriages face lots of challenges many of them because of unnecessary suspicion. His age could well be more than he told you (even facebook cannot really prove that) but that maybe due to his circumstances on arriving in Europe (not justifying it) but does it make him a bad father or husband??

I cannot vouch for his fidelity but will saying to the person on phone that he was going to playground with his kids and his Zukerpueppchen/cherie coco/chococate darling once and for all stop him from having another woman if he really wanted to?
Enjoy what you have and stop worrying. No matter how much you worry, you can hardly change the future.
Career / Re: Giving Up Banking For London South Bank University by marabout(m): 3:30am On Jul 11, 2011
POSTER,

Not a uni I would consider. BUT kudos to them, they have helped a lot of ethnic/minority people get an education. They are also are quite good at introducing courses that suit foreigners (who just want a job with their degree later) so they focus on things like BIT, computing, physiotherapy etc. Things that minority people can use to get a job when they graduate.
If you have interest cutting-edge research or you have the desire to go places, not the best place to go.
UK is a class society. You may not see it on the surface but simmers underneath. like someone already said, if you plan to leave uk post graduation then you may consider it if it fits into your overall plans for the future. As for experience, you will probably enjoy it more (many people from your background/many blacks) than going to Oxbridge or University of London where toffs are abundant.

I remember my prof joking by slagging off some modern med schools by saying one doctor made an error or another and only doctors trained in such and such med schools could possibly make such blunders! It was a regular entertainmentgrin grin

Marrying a pastor is good. The only thing is that the satan will always be lurking around the corner.

Whether in the form of fine Sisis wearing skimpy dress and kneeling down for pastor to pray for them to get husband or another man's wife with fine assets. Ol' boy no be small temptation.

No wonder pastor have to fight a major inner battles against nacking other women and even trying man-lover intimacy. One was convicted in London of man-lover intimacy assault a while ago. grin grin

why not give us details of some of the properties to entice us.

There are hundreds of agents advertising here.

Such a vague proposal like your's not very helpful.

Is there light/water/perimeter fence/survey/global C of O, etc

Proudly,

I started a little business like 10 years back with the aim of gradually building it and eventually spending most time back home. BUT the person I put in charge mismanaged it. As if the money i used to start it was nothing at all. I was left to pay the bank back here.

Refrain from extended family (except your dad and mum) when doing bisiness or they will ruin you and you can't do anything about it.

proudly9ja:

@OP
In addition to what everyone has said, Il just add that you take your time before relocating. Go to Nigeria for a few weeks. Start a business in Nigeria, see how it goes. Don't take that leap without testing the waters.

Again, why don't you look at other countries like Canada, New Zealand, etc?

Pel,

Everyone is tired hereo my brother. the tax thing is really annoying. But what to do.
The tax is painful but at least the govt use some of it well (not all: i don't like financing arab wars with my tax) but if someday something's wrong with someone you can call ambulance at 3am in the morning. That is not so in Naija.

If you have lots of money, then good. You can invest and people will work for you.
Otherwise if you want to go applying for job at NDLEA or Ministry of Agricaulture, you don't even have NYSC discharge certifiate or exemption proof.

One disadvantage for people like us who had all our tertiary education abroad.

Lady Pure,

Those 20s -late 20s are not ready to settle down yet. Probably still having a swell time.
They may believe that black ladies go on about marriage too soon.
Hot blooded Nigerian men are not known to pass over a pretty babe like you BUT I did same to a few ladies (non-nigerian Africans) in the past. They were very sexy but I had passed the stage of starting anything with any babe just for the sake of it. I wanted to settle down.
Who knows: maybe you have always bumped into guys with enough on their plate already (womenwise).

(1)Don't be too talkative

(2) Don't be like in your face: but smile and be friendly

(3) If you want to meet Naija boys dress nice/ladylike but conservatively. A dress made with african fabric would help, showing your appreciation for African way of life.

(4) Don't fall for just any Dele, Okafor , Alechenu, Garuba, or Nosa  that comes your way. Don't be in a hurry. There are still some good Naija dudes out there.

ronkebp:

I don"t know where  these guys see their naija gals, I also don't think that the girls are as they say. Majority of the guys here are from the ghetto back there in naija, just because they come abroad they think they can chat any lady up, you don't know that before you size a lady up, she herself they size the bloke, so if you fit play your card well, then you are a winner.we do not need to crucify them for holding their corner tight.

I think that's the problem. This idea that any guy who recognises a lady as a naija sister and is friendly, and they immediately assume that you want them. Nonesense.

And the Naija women you are talking about how do you know they are not from the ghetto?

This fixation with a man's status is crazy.  I have dated women of different races, teacher, lawyer, etc. they looked at my character not my origin, even in those day that i had nothing to my name than the quest for knowledge. Today i do a job where many Naija women work as health care colleagues.

Today they appear friendlier based on profession but rude when am not in that environment. So they are materialistic and want men in so -called high profile professions. What if a lawyer/doctor/IT guy is not actually a good husband material?
Thank God am married so will not fall into the hands of any fake one.
Romance / Re: What's The Problem With Nigerian Women Abroad? by marabout(m): 6:29am On Jun 18, 2011
Most other Non-Naija African women see Nigerian men as bold, hard-working and ambitious. That's the vibes I get from Many East African ladies are marrying Naija men here in UK as if Naija men are soon going to be out of circulation.

Perhaps the high number of ambitious Naija men make our ladies take us for granted. They should try Somali men and compare.

You will have to look up to say  chinese and indians (European/Western-born men) to see more ambitious men.
Health / Fake Doctor Worked In Suleja (Niger State) Hospital For 3 Years! by marabout(m): 6:12am On Jun 18, 2011
A fake doc worked undetected for 3 years in Suleja General Hospital (not some backstreet private hospital) for 3 years and was only cought after putting a plaster on a 10-year old child and pretended he had carried out an operation on him.
Thanks to the child mother's concern as child's condition got worse "post-op", the fake doc was found out.

Best of all is that he had been cought doing same in Nasarawa and handed over to the police. He did he get out so soon to have started working as a fake doc 3 years ago?  His punishment then couldn't have been tough enough to deter him.

After just watching BBC iplayer of a Nigerian immigration officer helping a foreigner obtain a Nigerian passport for N18,000 on "Breaking into Britain,  am shocked again.

Question is: just how many fake doctors are working in Nigerian government hospitals (privates don't even bear thinking about) and sening hundreds (if not thousands) to an early grave in Nigeria.
We know Abacha was a tyrant but under him, one Dr Colonel led an operation to close down many fake hospitals.
GEJ do something. Some quacks might send your relations to the great beyond somewhere in Bayelsa.

A 40-year-old, Bamigboye Olusegun, was arrested by men of the Nigeria Police in Niger State for operating as a doctor for three years. [/b] Nemesis caught up with the suspect, who performed fake surgery on a 10-year old boy at the Suleja General Hospital last weekend.
According to investigations, the suspect collected N10,000 from the mother of the patient, before performing the fake surgery: He took the boy into the theatre and placed plaster over a part of the body without actually performing any operation.
When the boy's condition got worse, the mother returned to the hospital where she made a complaint to the chief medical director who removed the plaster only to find that no operation took place on the boy.
The development, according to the findings, excited suspicion leading to the medical certificate of the 'doctor' being questioned.
Unknown to Olusegun, his academic records were sent to the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria where it was found out that he (Bamigboye ) had been using the certificate of a director, Malaria Control Centre, Federal Ministry of Health, Abuja, Dr Segun Oyeniyi.
It was learnt that it was the second time that Olusegun would be apprehended for faking as a medical doctor. He was first arrested in Nassarawa State about five years ago when he was unmasked and handed over to the police for prosecution.
Officials of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria who released the crime record of the suspect were at a loss as to how he escaped the long arms of the law after his criminal activity was confirmed.
Bamigboye, a graduate of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology, University of Jos, Plateau State, who confirmed that he is fake, said he bought the certificate at N5,000 from one Baba Abolaji, a messenger at the University Teaching Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara state. He said he had to fake as a medical doctor because "I have passion for the profession."
The father of 3 was on N160,000 monthly salary before he was arrested.
Niger State police commissioner, Mr Michael Zuokumor, who confirmed the story, said the fake doctor would be charged to court soon.
Romance / Re: What's The Problem With Nigerian Women Abroad? by marabout(m): 10:20pm On Jun 17, 2011
Naija women are always defensive when you point out your observations and that itself is a sorry attitude.

Because of rudeness and unrefinement, I basically ignored them for over a decade and I had a swell time with girls from as far as Thailand!
Good thing with European girls was that I didn't have to foot all the bills each time we went to cinema or holiday or restaurant.

Of course you know how parents can go on about marrying a black girl. I married the first black lady I had anything to do with in over 15 years. At least so far I have not noticed such attitude. Of course I married her because she was different from all those "frown faces" about town abroad.
What pisses me off the most is when those ones with very ugly iil-fitting wigs put on an attitude. You know the kind of girls that would force you to join a catholic seminary if they were the only ones on earth?

Poster,  there some good ones out there (very few I might add).
There is possibly a high burden of depression among our women generally because they suffer and bear the brunt of economic hardship and abuse, postnatal depression etc,  back home but social /family support and cultural restraint might be preventing display of bad attitude back there.

But in Europe/West you face your hardship alone and the need to appear respectful to protect family values/reputation disappears. Then they show their real behaviour. Many of their parents would be disappointed if they knew how ugly their daughters have turned out abroad.
