PoliticsRe: Breaking News: Nnpc's Md Barkindo Fired. by marvix(m): 11:46pm On Apr 06, 2010
I learnt its a massive shakedown Jonathan is carryin out in NNPC, the MD of d Portharcourt refinery who is a broda 2 Turai has been asked 2 proceed on 6 mths leave nd has been replaced, but can u imagine d guy orderin d plant bein shut down witout folowin due proces to ensure safety of equipment nd now we wld require 13mths to fix d damaged plant.

Other top shots in d NNPC shld follow suit soon, God help dis nation all we need now is peace, things are lookin up nd if u have gone thru d interview @ NNPC recently but hav not been called xpect ur call soon
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Inaugurates New Cabinet (Full List) by marvix(m): 11:34pm On Apr 06, 2010
Diezani alone in d petroleum ministry spells doom mayb dats y Jonathan moved by sackin d corrupt Barkindo who cld frustrate her efforts but Jo shld hav given her Ogienwonyi as minista of state so dat her xperience nd relationship wit shell wld be balanced by his xperience nd relationship wit d NNPC, or Ajumogobia cld hav gone it alone in dat ministry.

Do I sense Jonathan sharin portfolios based on d loyalty membas had shown him, Adetokunbo Defence, Maduekwe Petroleum Orubebe Niger Delta Dora Info nd Comm nd wit d apointment of Labaran as her deputy I think she may concentrate on Communications where she had a runnin battle with Ndukwe nd leave Information to Labaran.

Those who complained of d north dominance of d finance ministry nd Oil ministry wat do u hav to say 2 2 yorubas holdin forte @ d finance ministry, dats y I always advocate dat state of origin shld not be the basis of our arguements but merit and we can't do witout federal character, federal character is obeyed and we still have good materials in d ministry.
PoliticsRe: Breaking News - Nigeria: Acting President's New Cabinet Sworn In by marvix(m): 3:30pm On Apr 06, 2010
Why Maduekwe for the petroleum ministry what were her achievements in Works and Housing even the Mines and Steel development what was she able to achieve?
PoliticsRe: Breaking News: Nnpc's Md Barkindo Fired. by marvix(m): 3:19pm On Apr 06, 2010
This is getting interesting by the hour Jonathan definitely knows how to move.

Still waiting to see how he shares the ministries among the ministers
PoliticsRe: Dora Akunyili Retains Her Job As Minister Of Information by marvix(m): 3:14pm On Apr 06, 2010
Diezaini will run down whatever gains we have made in the petroleum industry. Will she go and continue crying there when those NNPC engineers and IOCs try to frustrate her, I would have preferred Lukman retainin that job than passing it over to her.

Now that Ribadu is comming back they will soon start singing a diffrient song. They are all corrupt to the teeth, all Goodluck need is to get them all investigated, that in itself will not be difficult task becos there crimes are so glaring that even a civil defence new recrute can investigate, charge them to court prosecute them and get conviction. So let us wait for the first pdp governor to shout "VOTE GOODLUCK 2011 !!!!!"

I AM WAITING!!!
PoliticsRe: Breaking News - Ibori's Investigator Attacked By Gunmen by marvix(m): 2:47pm On Apr 06, 2010
This is indeed very sad, and to think that Nigerians who dont understand the workings of the EFCC will just jump up and shout that the EFCC is not working, if they were not working why would their operatives be under constant attack. 2 dead already another in ICU Nigerians pls let us encourage our personnel who work hard to make this country a better place, they should be well compensated and their families should not be forgotten.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Moves To Save Yar'Adua by marvix(m): 2:39pm On Apr 06, 2010
Jonathan has shown time without number that he has everything under control. You only make noise when u are not sure of what is happening, with all the I saw Yaradua talk no one has said Yaradua is strong enuf to resume, they all hope that soon he will be able to resume. Soon could be as short as 3days or as long as 2yrs so why should Jonathan be worried, Head or Tail Jonathan shld emerge winner.

The PDP is capable of giving Jonathan the presidential ticket come 2011, there should be no talk of postponing the elections, that is likely to create more problem than it intends to solve, I pray for Nigeria or whatelse can I do cos I have decided never to weep for Nigeria and this is because whatever happens God has a purpose.
PoliticsRe: Ribadu Has Accepted Jonathan's Offer by marvix(m): 11:00am On Apr 06, 2010
I think now Ribadu must have been refined after some of the trainings and interactions he has undergone in his period in exile and will be briging this experience to bear when he returns. Goodluck to Mr Ribadu

Jonathan has displayed very admirable leadership qualities in the face of immense difficulties. If he runs in 2011, I'll be ready to pitch in more than just my vote.
Way to go Beaf, maybe we can start the YES-Goodluck 4 2011, that is Youth Earnestly Seek- Goodluck Jonathan 4 2011, YES we can!!!!

PoliticsRe: Yar’adua Posters Flood Kaduna For 2011 by marvix(m): 9:35am On Apr 06, 2010
Why dont we allow Yaradua win 2011 elections from the sick bed with Jonathan as his vice who will continue acting with the full powers of d president.

By this Jonathan would be Ag President for 6yrs after that he will be too strong to be defeated in 2015, and the good work he has started would be assured to continue.

This would be a technical victory for the south, the Niger delta, good governance which Jonathan seems to represent for now, all we have to do is insist that if the north must complet its 8yr term then it must be Yaradua.

usbcable:
the level at which i see things now, even if he comes public like yesterday people will still not believe that its the real yar adua.

why on earth is audience being refused to the other arms of government.(his legislature and judicial heads) undecided undecided undecided
Audience will be granted when he is strong enuf to speak with them or what purpose would it serve for him to meet with other arms and not speak with them, what the man needs now is prayers and that is why he is still meeting with spiritual leaders I pray God grants him wisdom to handle affairs of state wen he gets strong enuf and should not be adversely influenced by rumors that Jonathan had tried to usurp him.

I wish Yaradua speedy recovery and strength to continue his good works and the icing on the cake would be a deserved second term come 2011
PoliticsRe: Breaking News- Yaradua Met Christian Leaders On Monday by marvix(m): 9:09pm On Apr 05, 2010
If u are sick u go 2 d docs, Yaradua needs restoration of his health and he believes dat only God can heal him dats y he is meeting with spiritual leaders dat can join him in prayers and pray for him, when he is fully recovered he can then go abt meetin political leaders to assess d level of damage his health has cost him politically and how he can regain lost ground. What wld b d purpose of politicians nd his colleagues coming 2 c him now, some will even go 2 c him 2 start askin favors nd puttin unnecesary presure on him, he believes dat Jonathan has evrythin unda control so no need 2 rush back 2 ofc.

My president pls just take ur time nd recover wen u are well enuf ur seat wld be waitin and if u are not able to come back it must have been d will of God and who are we 2 question his will
PoliticsRe: Another Senator Dies. by marvix(m): 8:58pm On Apr 05, 2010
Life is a gift frm God so I wish their families d fortitude to bear d losses.

All dose who hav bin askin 2 c Yaradua because he is national property shld start asking that they snap d corpses of our national senators so we can have evidence dat they are actually dead.

What I find intriguin nd interestin is dat pple who were waitin 4 Yaradua 2 die so dat d nation can move 4ward, are actually leavin him behind. We kip hearin news or is it rumor dat sick Yaradua is gettin beta but healthy senators and politicians are d ones dieing, what an irony.

PoliticsRe: Chief Imam: I Saw Yar’adua Last Night by marvix(m): 8:15pm On Apr 05, 2010
Personally I'm not atached sentimentaly to Yaradua, but I just believe dat his presence or absence is not d reason 4 our woes as a nation, neither is his remainin a president on a sickbed or his sack because of his sicknes goin 2 solve our problems as a nation.
PoliticsRe: U.s Official - Nigeria Poll Chief Should Go ( Iwu Must Go ) by marvix(m): 8:03pm On Apr 05, 2010
The americans shld mind their own biz, Iwu is not d problem wit our elections, rather it is d sittin president dat determines d level of rigging dat is allowable.
PoliticsRe: Chief Imam: I Saw Yar’adua Last Night by marvix(m): 7:18pm On Apr 05, 2010
@skyblue suit urself, u can say wateva u wish 2 say I gues dats y u hav ur freedom of speech, so if u lik say dat u were part of Yaraduas funeral if dat makes u happy.
PoliticsRe: Chief Imam: I Saw Yar’adua Last Night by marvix(m): 6:38pm On Apr 05, 2010
@skyblue, dat isue is not in contention but if u want proof I recant and beg u to wait 4 events as they unfold. The crux of my arguement is Jonathan does not require any oficial leta 2 act in d absence of d president and dat includes if d president was to excuse himself in d middle of a meetin. Sometimes I just find it borin xplainin on dis forum mayb we can meet on a TV prog where I cld completely educate u on how d constitution is suposed 2 work
PoliticsRe: Emir Blames Failure In Neco On English Premier League by marvix(m): 2:33pm On Apr 05, 2010
The Emir has a point, though dats not d only reason y students are failin.
All issues raised like standard of education, qualifications nd motivation of teachers nd parents are also contributors to d mass failure. Just also as in d past students frm dilapidated schools hav come out as scholars in xams dats y some of us have passed while we played truant in our sch days.
I think d Govt shld overhaul our educational system, parents shld be more alert 2 their wards studies nd viewing of premier leagues shld be regulated nd school age children shld be encouraged 2 put in more studies @ their sch work instead of engagin in EPL chats.
PoliticsRe: Chief Imam: I Saw Yar’adua Last Night by marvix(m): 12:13pm On Apr 05, 2010
@larez we can show him dat we care by believing that he will get well and return to ofc not by stampeding him out or gettin d NASS to impeach him as d shock of dat alone may send him quicka to his grave. At least his absence is not stallin d nation there's an Ag President who has all d powas nd authority to steer d ship of state.
PoliticsRe: Ex-gov Rimi Dies After Armed Robbery Attack by marvix(m): 12:03pm On Apr 05, 2010
Eh ya may his soul rest in peace.
We kip hearing Yaradua is dead and incapacitated but he still keeps outlivin the supposedly healthy and fit people, pls be careful wat u wish others, because life and death is in d hand of d one who created us.
PoliticsRe: Chief Imam: I Saw Yar’adua Last Night by marvix(m): 11:13am On Apr 05, 2010
@first wen I saw dis post I didn't want 2 comment, but now afta readin all comments I feel obliged 2 coment.
Ndu chucks is right we need 2 sympathise with d man nd b happy dat d man we all prayed 4 is gettin beta. Let me ask if u were just recoverin frm a deadly ailment would ur first port of call b ur ofc, most especialy wen u hav a capable asistant who has taken charge. The president is gettin beta but not fit for d ofc yet, and 4 evrybody callin 4 his sack by claimin him incapacitated, the truth is dat no doc will declare a man who is sic lik Yaradua as permanently incapacitated. Permanently incapacitated means dat d man can neva regain his health to take on his duties, but the President is only temporary incapacitated and temporary cld mean as long as 3yrs but he is xpected to recover, den @ dat point d decision 2 resign rests squarely on him, we can force a man to throw in the towel.

I'm a staunch suporta of empowerin Jonathan as Ag President nd if by 2011 Yaradua can't continue Jonathan shld be allowed to run 4 president, but like I hav always said Jonathan didn't require a leta frm Yaradua for him 2 act neither did he nid d NASS 2 empower him, by virtue of our constitution Jonathan bcoms d Ag President d moment Yaradua is out of town. And actin president is not a new title higher dan d vice president, I giv an xample if d president was leavin town 4 a wk he cld ask Jonathan to act on his behalf nd cld well spel out wat Jonathan can do while he is away lik chair d FEC 4 me attend 2 som visitors 4 me, but postpone d security meetin till I com back, I will personally attend to d council of state meetin, so in dis case wen d FEC comes up the VP takes charge but wen d security meetin comes up the VP postpones and wen d council of state comes up nd d man is not back d VP also postpones.
Now comin 2 d issue of Nov 23 d president was rushed out nd Jonathan said d president by word of mouth asked him 2 take charge and had directed his private second to forward 2 him all necesary docs dat needed his attention, but unfortunately some ministas didn't want Jonathan 2 act by just word of mouth and dis is because it is Nigeria, and mayb democracy dats y som ministas felt they were stronga dan d VP nd Jonathan decided not to overheat d polity but instead played along so dat evryone wld kno who indeed has d powers, that was y he refused to do d ministas bidding because som pple wanted 2 tell d VP wat he shld do in d name of d president. We then had 2 go d whole hog got a NASS declaration and dat was y Jonathan had 2 move against some of d ministas.

If Yaradua gets well and returns to ofc Jonathan has nothin 2 fear and Yaradua will not find any wrongdoin wit Jonathan, rememba wen Yaradua left d country some time ago and it was rumored dat he was dead and Kingibe d SGF @ dat tyme felt he was more relevant dan d VP and took unilateral decision and didnot defer 2 d VP and already proclaimin dat he wld b d one to finish Yaraduas tenure among other things he did then, when d president returned Kingibe got his sack even d VP wasn't there wen it hapened, d first oficial event Yaradua went was where he introduced Yayale den defence minista as d SGF, his aides felt he was still sick dat was wen he demanded d resignation of Kingibe. Yaradua may not agree with all d new ministas but as president he can still reshufle d cabinet, drop som ministas and reappoint som odas or go d whole hog nd dissolve d cabinet even if its just a wk he has left.

I still honestly pray he gets well soon return to his ofc and b strong enuf to lead and go ahead 2 contest 2011 for a 2nd term and then Jonathan can continue as President frm 2015 but if Yaradua isn't strong enuf to rule let Jonathan continue wit their 7point agenda. I rest my case.
PoliticsRe: Meet "the Renaissance Professionals" - They Have Cut Sanusi To Size! by marvix(m): 5:57pm On Apr 03, 2010
Naijaking wat part of my arguement is biased, allowing a man do his job has no conotation of bias, but insistin dat a man is wrong because he is a muslim frm Kano and sacked his erstwhile competitors who hav done wrong is to say d least bein biased.

Like u said, b4 Sanusi d bankin sector was in outpatient been managed, this management of a serious crisis in out patient mode could lead str 2 d untimely death of d patient, a new doc came in reviewed d patients condition and discovers dat d patients need an operation and shld be moved into d theatre. In this case can d relatives complain and if they choose they can take their patient elsewhere but it doesn't say d doc is bad.

Sanusi @ least saved d Nigerian banks frm wat happened in d US bankin sector are u just blind 2 c dat, I told u dat I worked wit IBplc and in Feb2008, we were pickin dud cheques frm customers infact we begged dem to write cheques dat won't clear and then we giv it instant value so dat our depositors base wld be high, also we were performin tricks makin non performin loans performin, I had 2 quit because Sanusi xposed the rot, but den I wld not just crucify him 4 dat, he saw 2 much madnes, naijaking pls leave ur narrow interest and look @ d biga pic, d day PHCN gets their acts right some legit bizmen wld lose big time, d day NNPC gets it acts rite a lot of dealers wld loose out on som biz deals and so on.

Allow d man 2 do his job if he kills d bankin sector it wld b ascribed 2 him and not u.
PoliticsRe: Meet "the Renaissance Professionals" - They Have Cut Sanusi To Size! by marvix(m): 3:58pm On Apr 03, 2010
@naijaking a patient in ICU does not necesarily mean dat d doctor has done a bad job, and a case in d ICU is not completely hopeless, all d relatives of d patient can do is hope nd pray that d patient comes out alive.

If u hav taken time to read my post I neva praised d man, all I said is dat d man shld be allowed to do his job just like u won't go arguing wit a doc in surgery wen d patient is not urs even if u are a doc.
PoliticsRe: Meet "the Renaissance Professionals" - They Have Cut Sanusi To Size! by marvix(m): 2:25pm On Apr 03, 2010
Naijaking u are not makin any sense at all, I guess u hav a personal issue wit SLS, spit it out let us know mayb we can sympathise wit u, instead of using this forum to settle personal scores.
The CBN gov is doin a good job u can't solve a prob witout causin oda probs, just lik ur scenario of a surgery, u can't remove d defective tissue witout openin up d patient and wen all is closed d patient is to be on some pain relievers which serves d purpose of relievin him of d pains of d operation
PoliticsRe: Cnpp Urges Jonathan To Run For 2011 Presidential Polls by marvix(m): 12:53pm On Apr 03, 2010
Jonathan has started building consensus, d oposition already lookin in his way. The pple who want 2 stand by zonin will lose out in d pdp, they will b d ones lookin for a platform to maintain their zoning formula.

Agan has called out 2 us to stand up nd support d man Goodluck Jonathan, let's start d campaign.
PoliticsRe: Meet "the Renaissance Professionals" - They Have Cut Sanusi To Size! by marvix(m): 12:39pm On Apr 03, 2010
Quote from naijaking
Please don't go repeating Sanusi's allegation, because almost 9 months into this diatribe, nobody has been convicted in any court of law, but many have been convicted in the press during Sanusi's many road shows.

I gues Ibori too should be left alone because afta 3yrs no one has bin able to get a conviction against him hence all allegations are mere allegations, same with all oda criminals dat hav robbed dis nation blind.
U are wrong 2 say dat only Sanusi saw rats, Oceanic nd Intercontinental always recruit corp members who served wit dem but in d year 2009 they didn't convert them Inter even slashed salaries as @ July 2008, started recruitin contract staf 4 50k per month to aggresively go 2 d streets to beg 4 money.
I was workin wit IBplc @ Feb 2008 b4 d Sanusi tsunami, marketers were asked to bring in cheques even if d cheques wld bounce, do u have any idea wat dis means or wat we were doin @ dat time, all they wanted was 2 use dose cheques 2 shore up deposit base @ yrend. Most customers of IBplc were not aware dat they were charged acc maintenance charges in Dec 2008 because we blocked alerts even charged customers 4 withdrawal bklet @ d same period ask any staff of IBplc only if they want 2 deny but all these are true and there were similar scenarios in Oceanic bank.
So d bank chiefs knew d rats were in d house but they didn't want 2 leave d house because d rats were their pets dat they used to steal fron their neighbours and Sanusi came there sacked them frm d house and sent in fumigators and d rats are dieing everywhere bringin about a lot of bad odour but soon the odour will be out and then there wld be a new lease of air.
PoliticsRe: Meet "the Renaissance Professionals" - They Have Cut Sanusi To Size! by marvix(m): 12:22am On Apr 03, 2010
@realman, SLS has spent barely one year nd he has 5yrs to run so y not allow him run his tenure history will judge him.
The bankin sector isn't d only sector in d Nigerian economy, d truth be told d failures in oda sector of d econommy nd our national life has put undue stress on our bankin sector.
If pple want 2 tak their money to hell to fix, they are free 2 do so, fixed deposits is one of d probs in our economy, y put money in fixed deposits wen this money is critically needed in d economy.

Sagamite I agree wit u because d man guardin d museum won't be happy nd can start complainin dat its because he didn't allow d police free entry wit his family dat was y he was made jobless while d policeman had intel dat d guard was involved in d robbery goin on. Sagamite thankz
