please leave this man alone. if he wants to be a sleeping president i think we should let him be or allow Jonathan exit him at the right time and if Jonathan is comfortable having a sleeping and hiding president while he remains acting president then let them be. Serap coordinator can u ask ur doc to publish your healt reports? What is ur HIV status? |
Carving up Nigeria does not solve our prob, it only help kadafis course, as he wld now hav smal territories to contend with, Nigeria was a major force that stood against his reelection as AU chairman. Kadafi thanks 4 ur opinion nd advice we'll kip it @ d bac of our minds |
I don't kno wat to make of dis mans statement, but when I saw d topic what came to my mind was, this had been his dream all along, to make dis country like Burundi and co. The question that shld have been asked him is "how did he handle d ND crisis, what wsa his role personally and his government in resolving or escalating d crisis? My prayer is that we shld neva hav an Obasanjo character lead us again, prayers in the name of whateva u worship. |
Why should Anyaoku run from d post? The problem with elections hav neva been d chairman, but who is @ d helms of affairs. The 1999 elections were beta dan 2003 because Abdulsalami to an xtent was unbiased and didn't interfere with d electoral process like Obj later did and 2007 was terrible because Obj was fully in charge and I believe dat d failure of INEC shld be placed squarely at Objs door. Afta d 2007 elections we cld c some marked improvment even d Ekiti re run was beta dan most of d 2007 elections nd d Anambra elections shows dat elections can actully be conducted in dis country witout chaos. This is a good time for INEC to b cleaned up and Anyaoku is up to d task most especialy now that we have a leadership lik Yaradua nd Jonathan. |
Quote from post a few political associates of Atiku confided in Daily Sun that tonight’s meeting would just be a formality, as the group have decided to move back to the PDP in the “best interest of democracy and nation building.” Which democracy and nation building, it should read in d interest of HIMSELF and HIS POLITICAL CAREER. If he likes he can join Buharis party, how does his movment afect d price of beans in d mkt |
@soldee what I'm sayin is instead of askin 4 d impossible y not ask 4 d possibles or if u were d president wld u surenda ur wife for trial most especially wen she may hav bin doing d act on ur behalf. We don't hav angels here but with time we can get there d formers nd their wives nd girlfriends can be tracked down 4 now nd wen GEJ leaves they can go afta his wife. Person wey don dey disolve cabinet, he no go just disolve d whole EFCC abi wat do u fink? |
What does Falana thinks he is in this country that will make him write to d presidency tellin them wat to do, if he is WABA president that is his prob, if evry Nigerian starts to write to tell d president to sack who and employ who where would we be by now. Let's not 4get Falana was a candidate in the 2007 elections where he lost, is that d reason y he must ask for Iwus head @ any oportunity he gets. The person who employed d man said his tenure is not ova, then u who was not there wen they were apointin him u are now tryin to tell dem wen his tenure expired. On d issue of Iwus tenure, he was not promoted to take over instead he was nominated as chairman and sent 2 d NASS for screening, so as xpected he got a new employment leta, just like if an individual was nominated from outside so he is entitled to his 5yr term as chairman INEC |
I can't view d video but pls dis section is d politics section, this kind of joke shld be in the Jokes section. Pls spare us d tantrums |
All of u shouting for Mrs Jonathans investigations and arrest, don't u think we shld leave her nd concentrate on d Ibori, Odili, Obj, former senators, former ministers and former govs nd their deputies and comisionas, or who will bell d presidents cat? |
Is dis 4 real? Pls if its just a farce let's stop postin speculations or pranks on dis forum. |
Quote from Doyin 13 Federalism does not mean the federal government would be totally powerless. The federal government would still be primarily responsible for defence. Even with true federalism, it is likely that the Niger Delta would still be the main contributor to federal coffers but not the ONLY contributor which can only benefit everybody. I understand what u are saying, but I wasn't even talking of d regional govts but I was talking of d regional warlords. Once we start practising true federalism d ND govs can loot all the funds and bcom too powerful as individuals dat was wat I was trying to say, just imagine wit 13% derivation one man is stealing 100b dats is almost some other states full budget, can u imagine d magnitude of stealing that wld occur wen we have 100% derivation, a sylva may as well loot d national budget. For true federalism to be practised we have to fight corruption to a standstill, enthrone due proces strengthen d anti corruption agencies and have credible people in our political space and people like Ibori, Odilu and recently Sylva should be cooling off in some prisons. |
Quote from kobojunkie On the contrary, I believe what we need are desperate individuals; individuals desperate for change and willing to stand and fight to get in to change things. I am not certain of the particular man's personality but if he does not have what it takes to fight to get the work done, then I am afraid we need not push for him to get the seat. I say this because I have seen how we flippantly excuse the many blunders of those we chooses as 'HEROES' in all this. A good example is Dora Akunyili. Yes, she may have done good( according to what I heard) at NAFDAC. As minister, she failed BUT people are so willing to turn a blind eye to the fact that she just did a very bad job as minister, and are willing to allow her continue to another leadership post when it is all too apparent that she is not cut out as one of those to bring change to Nigerian politics.Either that or she is just another politrickian. While I agree with d first half of ur post and don't c y u hav to edit because of lanre, if u want to serve d nation u shld be ready to fight for dat oportunity, but on Dora I disagree wit u. Dora performed on her job she did her best and she also fought to get to dat office. |
Quote from cap28 i was under the impression that the appointment of jonathan WAS in breach of s 145 of the constitution because power was not transferred by way of a written letter by Yaradua nor was it transferred by way of a declaration by Yaradua's former cabinet - so perhaps Yaradua's cronies have a point. That section didn't mandate d president to write and dat section didn't also imply dat until d leta is submited d VP can not act. As a mata of fact d constitution only recognises one function for d VP and that is for him to act in d absence of d president. That means in as much as d president goes to d loo in d middle of d meeting, d VP can act on his behalf and in his capacity. So d issue of s145 is just being used to distract us. |
@doyin 13, d two issues are linked, because we wld not want a federalism where a regional or state gov will bcom stronger dan d man @ d centre and this is d crux of d issue dat has not allowed for an increase in d derivation fund for d ND. Can u imagine wat Federal Govt wld be lik when u have warriors like Ibori, Odilu, Alams,Igbinedion and now Sylva with all their stolen funds starting a war against d federation, I say God forbid, God forbid we practise true federalism with characters like dis people in our political space. I hav always known dat sylva was a clueles stupid gov when d EFCC on handing back looted funds frm Alams back to d state, the only thing he was able to say was dat d funds wld be used to construct "A Transparency House" or what did he even call it? |
I wish her and d family the best in their endeavours, but I mis Yaradua, a man who stood for peace and unity of this country a man who believes in this country and is very convinced that "Nigeria can not afford to fail now". |
So what is supposed to be dificult in unraveling who authorised the withdrawals. The report should have been so so and so has been arrested in connection to illegal withdrawals from d security vote and not some kind of winding investigation dat wld yield nothin, if u are not interested in bringin dem to book spare us d drama. |
@musiwa or adesegun or wateva u cal urself ur analysis hold no water, we here understand d politics nd I tel u Jonathan knows wat he's doin. Change is coming to naija and Jo is preparin himself I'm sure u still mis dem Obj days wen u nd ur type held sway, sorry ur times up. NB; just got a txt been invited for some kind of security, sorry wld hav given my real name. |
Buhari has every right to float his party, but my advice to him is that he shld not think of using his party to project himself for any elective office but rather use it as a platform for younger and brighter chaps he cld take his position as Chairman BOT and join d list of Godfathers in d country. Those who have tried to demonise him are not being fair to him, his 12mth rule was beta dan IBBs 8yr misrule and his fight against corruption was more efective dan Objs fight against corruption both in d 70s nd his 2nd coming. If Buhari had ruled as a military man 4 3yrs only issues lik corruption wld hav bin xpunged frm our lexicon as a nation and crooks like Ibori and Igbinedion wld hav neva surfaced in our history. |
@monkeyleg, how was d etsako electn beta dan d 2007 elections, how was d Anambra election beta dan d 2007 election and even d Ekiti re run? In d 2003 elections where there no rigging how many rigged elections were overturned compared to d num overturned post 2007? Pls if u don't c a future for this country you don't have to close others who see it. Back to Atiku, he is just a confused man a political oversabi, I'm sure he went 2 c Goodluck to learn how to wait 4 power to come to u. Atiku shld not even be considered for d top job in dis country unless he can xplain d N40b he used in hosting COJA and what he did with his share of d PTDF loot. The best thing for him is to go and take his place amongst d corrupt Godfathers we have. |
What is this piece meant to analyse. Is it wrong to invite prayer warriors to pray for us christians when the docs seem to be failing? So what if Yaradua employs Alfas? He believes them and he is entitled to his personal beliefs, pls let's leave the young man to take care of himself. |
@slap1 why does it not make sense? because he commended Yaradua for a marvelous initiative. This is what we've bin trying to say when we see govt doing a thing right, let's commend them so that when we condem them for doing something wrong we will be justified. Jonathan is already building his support base in preparation for his free nd fair elections. |
@na so. If its thru dat kind of judgements that will produce action govs without godfadas who will improve the lot of the people then I am down with it. Do u think elections actually guarantee you a responsible leadership, don't you know that you can only choose from options available or why won't Okonjo Iweqla come out to contest to be president? |
I couldn't agree less, but there are a lot of other people who can do a better job in this country. B4 Sanusi came to CBN how many of us knew him, b4 Ribadu came to EFCC did we know him, just watch out for who is going there soon. Farida is also trying her best I wonder why she wasn't granted a special court for economic crimes, who was supposed to grant it?, the corrupt senators themselves. |
What were u expecting, that Jonathan would just act and handover in 2011, so that all his efforts nd Yaraduas efforts go down the drain. Calm down more technocrats wld come post 2011, no need to be worried just support Jonathan. |
Selfish amendments all the way, why should senate want a senator to retain his seat on defection and y does house members want them to lose their seat on defection. It is all selfish, if a senator decamps a member of house can challenge for the vacant seat but who will a senator be waiting for to decamp. All political office holders in d countries and political apointees @ d federal and state levels should have a degree as their least qualification. |
@becomerich what ideas did u pple giv Obj, and was he able to conduct a free election to impose his sucesor or he had to rely on rigging? |
Quote from post We learnt that Bankole might choose his nominee from Oyo State, a development being resisted by the Governor, who has nominated former Minister of State for Finance Mr. Remi Babalola, into the cabinet." Pls help us bring Remi Babalola back, the man tried and is hardworking. But all these govs making noise, do they take nominees for commisiona slots from LGA chairmen, they should find somewhere to sleep if their candidates don't make it, at least they can give them apointments in their respective state cabinets. |
Quote frm biina A simple apology would have sufficed. Your reference to his parents were uncalled for. I don't owe him any apology. Did he apologise for all the crap he had to say to me, or what was it to mean when he said"where did u bring this ideas from I'm sure its not your head" I'm sure you thot he was complimenting me. By the way what did I say abt his parents that he hasn't been saying to other peoples parents? |
There's a lot of derailing and obvious showing off, the issue on d thread is no longer being discused, pls moderator can u lock the thread or change the topic as no one is discussing either the union or the former minister. Paddy lo nd co pls start a new thread and then let us contribute effectively. |
oyb:@oyb, l didnt say that all civil servants are bad, just like not all our leaders are bad so when i gave an overview of what a majority of civil servants are, he took it personal and involved his parents. My arguements were not countered by him if you will try going through our previous posts , you will see that he just took one of my comments and brought it out of context and wanted to show off, and thank you for concuring with me in saying that the NEPA staff are part of the problem and that was what i was trying to say before the young man came up trying to show off his NYSC experience and the truth be said i dont like it when people dont want to see anything good in what others are doing and trying to make everyone look bad. If his dad was Babalola would he like the comments he made about him to be made about his dad? |
@netoste, I read all your post in reply to my last post and just felt that i should leave you alone because u are just a small boy with a lot of youthful exuberance and have been corrupted by your civil service parents who have in their little way contributed to the mess we are in as a country, so your coming out in this forum to defend civil servants is understood. What was the originating post and where did all this talk start from before you jumped in with your "i too know" itching fingers and typing your stupidity away. The issue here is that workers threatened to go on strike if a particular minister was re-appointed for them, that threat has nothing to do with professionalism, facts or solving the power crisis but it was all about sentiments and emotions, should workers be the ones to determine who their bosses would be? I know you can answer in the affirmative at least may be that was how your parents were selecting the ministers and permanent secs they worked with i*d*i*o*t. So rounding off all your blabbing with who really cares if the workers have a moral right or not just shows your "oversabi" mentality. Well if u must know I am an engineer and the issue has not warranted a show off of my understanding of the engineering practise. You can start your own thread and maybe ask if people like your parents should be honored for their services to this country by their contributions in the civil service, by the way which ministry did your parents serve in? Quote from netoste in 3 years he has not generated up to 3000MW, he should be ashamed of himself No reason to be ashamed because he has exceeded the 3000 mark and they are on a solid path to achieving more at least you have told us that Obj used 8yrs trying to generate almost 3000 that was not sustainable. |
