The slay queen identified as Chinny took to social media to list the companies she can only work for as Shell, Chevron, Nestle and Dangote group. She did not end there. She says she will not accept any job paying less than N300,000 for a start.

A university student decided to celebrate her new status as a B. Sc holder by feeding on her best local delicacy, Okpa.
The unidentified girl finished her final paper, rushed into a shop popular for Okpa delicacy, requested for 10 wraps of Okpa. She began to carefully take the local snack one after the other and had consumed about four wraps with a bottled of soft drink before her friend captured the moment in pictures.

Nigerian Anas! University Student Chased Out Of Exam Hall For Dressing Like Ghanaian Masked Journalist

A student journalist landed in trouble for attempting to look like his role model Anas Aremeyaw Anas, the famous Ghanaian Masked investigative reporter.
The student who is a 200 level student of Department of Mass Communication, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra State, Nigeria, walked into the hall for his exam with a mask covering his face just like Anas.

The boy who says Anas the Ghanaian masked journalist is his idol and role model insisted that he must take one of his exams looking like the journalist he wants to be like in future. His classmates were stunned when they saw him looking like the journalist he keeps telling them he would like to follow his footsteps.
The joke ended when examiners walked into the hall and saw him sitting like a student-masquerade. They immediately ordered him to leave the class or they will invite the school security. As he delayed one of his colleagues dragged him up and pushed him out of the class because he was delaying the commencement of their class exam.

The photos were captured by someone whom the Masked Student had told to snap him as he sat in class looking like his role model. That joke was short-lived as he was chased out of the hall still wearing the mask while Some of his classmates laughed hysterically.

A Minnesota woman’s obituary is currently viral because its content is unbelievably shocking, coming from the woman’s children.

People are expected to speak well of the dead but not for Kathleen Dehmlow who died May 31 in Springfield at the age of 80.

Her children, Gina and Jay made it clear in the obituary submitted to her local newspaper she will not be missed by them.

This publication is now controversial as people are wondering why a newspaper should allow such a nasty obituary to be published. So what is the content of the obituary?

Her obituary, which appeared in the Redwood Falls Gazette, begins with the usual information, including her date of birth, her marriage to Dennis Dehmlow in 1957 and the two children she had with him, Gina and Jay.

It then takes a sharp turn:

In 1962 she became pregnant by her husband’s brother Lyle Dehmlow and moved to California.

She abandoned her children, Gina and Jay who were then raised by her parents in Clements, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schunk.

A Doctor in Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi Kenya, is currently in trouble after using the genitals of his patient to teach female medical students.

The man identified with his initials, DK, to protect his privacy, has sued the hospital and the Doctor for allegedly invading his privacy.

The patient alleged that he went to Aga Khan hospital for medical treatment over persistent pains he was having in his genitals only for one Dr. Samnakay Saeed to walk into his ward with two female students and the female students started making notes as Saeed taught them while examining DK’s genitals.

DK said he was subjected to mental distress to the extent of nearing panic after finding out that the two female students were far more younger than him and Dr. Saeed was asking them questions based on their observations of the patient’s genitals. He said he felt reduced to mere specimen as a result of which he did not return to the hospital for follow up examination as he was told to do. Instead he went to report the matter, reports Standard Media.

“In the course of my medical examination, the first respondent (Saeed) requested me to proceed to the examination bed, UnCloth and lie on the bed. While I was still lying on the examination bed, a female walked into the room and proceeded to where I was. A few minutes later, another female was let into the examination room. My assessment of the two females and the conversation they had told me that they were much younger than me; a fact that intensified my mental distress to near panic attack, ” High Court judge Wilfrida Okwany was told.

The further man said in between his examination, the doctor asked the two students questions.

According to him, “I was mentally distressed, which affected my concentration. I had been reduced to a specimen and object of study, subjected to unrestricted and prolonged touching of my reproductive organs.”

A 5-year-old boy is currently struggling for freedom after reporting to his father, how a neighbour uses him for witchcraft activities, including flying at night, eating people’s liver, and using his buttocks to open locked doors at night.

The incident happened in in Kezi, Matabeleland South province where community members were left shocked after the five-year-old boy told them at a meeting that he was fed up with being used by a neighbour in her witchcraft escapades, reports The Maravi Post.

At first the troubled boy, who cannot be named for ethical reasons, told his father that he was fed up of being used by a neighbour in carrying out witchcraft activities.

According to My Zimbabwe online, the boy went on to say that they eat human liver and fly using a winnowing basket or at times ride on a donkey and open community member’s doors using their buttocks.

Speaking to B-Metro the father said the neighbour had not stopped using the boy in carrying out witchcraft activities.

“I do not know what I should do! I thought by exposing her at a community meeting she would stop but umfana (boy) always tells me that the woman is still using him when conducting her witchcraft and now my fear is that she will end up killing my child,” he said.

In an interview, the boy in question confirmed that the neighbour was still using him in carrying out witchcraft activities.

How Crying Can Make You Healthy

It makes nine out of 10 people feel better, reduces stress, and may help to keep the body healthy. It’s also free, available to almost everyone, and has no known side effects, other than wet tissues, red eyes and runny makeup. Crying may not be a blockbuster drug, but the latest research suggests it’s highly effective at healing, and that it improves the mood of 88.8 per cent of weepers, with only 8.4 per cent feeling worse. So beneficial is it that the researchers suggest there may be a case for inducing crying in those who find it difficult to let go.

But while almost all of us shed emotional tears at some time – at least 47 times a year for women, and seven for men – exactly why we cry, and much about what happens when we do, remains a mystery. For crying, a uniquely human form of emotional expression, to have survived evolution, it should have a practical purpose and give some kind of survival advantage. Laughter and anger are both well known to have advantages. Laughter, for example, has been shown to promote healing, increase blood flow, reduce levels of stress hormones, boost the immune system and produce more disease-fighting compounds.

But what of crying? Emotional tears come from the same tear glands that produce the fluid that forms a protective film over the eyeballs to keep them free of irritants, and which also releases extra fluid when the eye becomes irritated, or is invaded by a foreign body.



A clue to the purpose of crying may lie in the experimental finding that emotional tears contain different compounds from regular eye watering, such as that triggered by chopping onions.

The phenomenon supports the so-called recovery theory, that emotional tears, and their contents, may be a way of getting the body back in balance after a stressful event. “I have suggested that we may feel better after crying because we are literally crying it out. Chemicals that build up during emotional stress may be removed in our tears when we cry,” says William Frey, professor of pharmaceutics at the University of Minnesota. “Because unalleviated stress can increase our risk for heart attack and damage certain areas of our brain, the human ability to cry has survival value.”
Other evidence backs up the theory. It’s been shown that tears associated with emotion have higher levels of some proteins, and of manganese and potassium, and hormones, including prolactin than mere eye watering. Manganese is an essential nutrient, and too little can lead to slowed blood clotting, skin problems, and lowered cholesterol levels. Too much can also cause health problems. Potassium is involved in nerve working, muscle control and blood pressure.

Prolactin is a hormone involved in stress and plays a role in the immune system and other body functions. Its involvement in tears may help to explain why women cry more than men. Women have more prolactin than men, and levels rise during pregnancy, when the frequency of crying among women also increases.

There have also been some claims that crying can reduce pain, although there has been little research into this area. The phenomenon, if verified, may be an indirect effect – in that crying may trigger physical contact with another individual and touch has been linked to improved wellbeing.

A counter theory is that crying doesn’t so much help the body recover from whatever triggered the tears, but that it increases arousal to encourage behaviours to see off the threat. In support of this theory, some research shows that skin sensitivity increases during and after crying, and that breathing deepens. Some argue that crying could perform both these functions: “It is possible that crying is both an arousing distress signal and a means to restore psychological and physiological balance,” say researchers at the University of South Florida. Others suggest that emotional tears signal distress and encourage group behaviour, as well as improve social support and inhibit aggression.

A study at Tilburg University in The Netherlands shows that both men and women would give more emotional support to someone who was crying, although they judged less positively someone who wept. Another study showed men were liked best when they cried and women when they did not. “Overall, results support the theory that crying is an attachment behaviour designed to elicit help from others,” say the Dutch researchers.

In the latest study, at the University of South Florida, researchers found that almost everyone feels better after a cry and that personality has a big effect on how often we cry. Neurotics were more frequent criers and were more easily and quickly moved to tears. The American researchers suggest that the beneficial effects of crying may make induced weeping a useful therapy for some people. In, particular, they propose that it may be suitable for people who have difficulty expressing their emotions.

One of Gonzales’ most recent victims, who preferred to remain anonymous, told CNN affiliate KCAL that she had met the man on a dating app and agreed to go on a date with him. After enjoying a scrumptious dinner and two cups of coffee, the man reportedly started talking about his sick aunt and how worried he was about her. Then he excused himself to get the charger for his phone from the car, but never came back, leaving her to cover the $130 bill.

“He ordered a salad with shrimp, filet mignon – yeah, he went all out,” the woman said. “All of a sudden he’s all, ‘Oh my charger – my phone’s dying and I’m waiting on a call from my mom about my aunt.’”

“I didn’t bring it up to the restaurant – nothing,” the victim added. “I think I was more embarrassed. My pride was just like – you know? I felt dumb.”

New Policy! Teachers In Kenya Will Now Be Penalized For Coming To School In Unpolished Shoes and Unkempt Hair
A new in Kenya released by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), has stated that teachers who come to school in unkempt hair, torn shirts and unpolished shoes will not escape without some punishment. This is part of plans to make teachers role models to the children they teach.

Reports have it that teaching in Kenya will no longer be about chalk, duster and lesson plans in a packed classroom.

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) now wants the 340,000 teachers under its payroll to understand their job description and effectively perform their duties, report’s Standardmedia.co.
In a comprehensive circular released this week, TSC has instructed its teaching staff to “go beyond the classroom experience to build a holistic child”.

A strict routine of the teachers’ roles will count during promotions, which TSC says will be done based on “satisfactory performance”.

The details are contained in Carrier Progression Guidelines for Teachers released this week. Under the guidelines, teachers will now be required to provide guidance and counseling services to all learners and instill norms and values for harmonious co-existence of the children.
Basic requirements

Shock awaits teachers who turn up in schools in unkempt hair, torn shirts and unpolished shoes.

TSC wants all its staff to serve as role models and maintain students’ discipline to create a conducive environment for learning.

For weak students, TSC wants teachers to organise remedial actions to support learners with performance gaps, evaluate them and prepare them for national examinations.

TSC Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia said the guidelines provide all basic requirements for career progression, training and promotion of teachers. “These guidelines provide for policies and procedures that have standardised teachers’ professional development,” said Dr Macharia.

Anas said he had nearly 500 hours of video evidence on tape, showing judges alleging asking for bribes and demanding sex. One even accepted a goat as a bribe.

The documentary shocked the nation at the time, and was shown to packed houses at cinemas in the capital, Accra.

More than 20 judges and 170 judicial officers were implicated in the country’s biggest corruption scandal.

Twenty judges and magistrates have already been found guilty of bribery and dismissed from their jobs.

No one knows exactly when the people of Yap, a tiny Micronesian island, started using giant limestone disks as money, but their unique stone money have definitely been around for centuries and are still in circulation today.

Micronesian islands use the US dollar as their official currency, but on the island of Yap people also use a very unusual form of money – giant limestone discs, some of which weigh more than a car. There are hundreds of these discs scattered all over the island, some located outside of hotels, others stored deep in the forest, but most of them are kept in stone money banks located in virtually every village. There are an estimated 13,000 stone discs in circulation on Yap, ranging from 30 centimetres to 3.50 meters in diameter, with the largest ones being considered the most valuable.
“It’s not really clear when it happened, but oral traditions talk about a famous navigator who voyaged to Palau and found limestone there,” says Dr. Scott Fitzpatrick, an Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Oregon, said about how stone money came to be. “The navigator told his men to carve it in the shape of a fish. Then he looked up at the full moon and the stone reminded him of the bright shiny color of the moon. So he ordered his men to carve the stone into a shape of a disc and perforated it so they could carry it with a timber through the middle.”
“The oral traditions behind each piece were extremely important in estimate to its value. It was decided that the money was still good and the family that had hauled it from Palau was the owner. Today, over a century later, there is someone on Yap who owns that disc, even though no one has seen it in since the day it sunk.

Breaking! Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson admitted to hospital, Suffers Brain Haemorrhage

Manchester United Legend, Sir Alex Ferguson was rushed to hospital this morning to undergo emergency surgery for a brain haemorrhage.

Reports have it that an ambulance was called to his home in Cheshire at 9am this morning and took the 76 year-old to Macclesfield district hospital.

A statement from Man Utd read: “Sir Alex Ferguson has undergone emergency surgery today for a brain haemorrhage.

“The procedure has gone very well but he needs a period of intensive care to optimise his recovery.”

His son, Darren Ferguson, missed Doncaster’s final game of the season against Wigan as news emerged.

The cult renunciation exercise took place on Wednesday, May 2, the the Igbariam campus of the university during the interactive session between the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Greg Nwakoby and the students’ community.
Prof. Nwakoby, expressed his happiness over the event, adding that he now believed his posting to COOU was the will of God.

In a bid to encourage agriculture among the youth in Nigeria, an online news platform, massmediang.com, has presented agricultural products to students of the Department of Mass Communication, Cukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) as award for their exceptional performances in a short Film Festival organized by the platform.
The event took place on Tuesday, May 1, at the Igbariam campus of COOU

“About 1.2 million people are currently critically ill in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers state, with another 400 thousand already confirmed dead. The hospitals are fully packed with patients lying outside in the open, due to lack of space. The morgues are fully packed with corpses lying in the open space. The death rate is now alarming with about 120 recorded every day. There is nothing the government can do now to save the residents of Port Harcourt, especially now that so many have died.”

Well, you may describe this news flash above as fake news now but the way the black soot situation is going, this news flash above will no longer be fake news in another 3 years. Research evidence suggests that it could take just about five years for black soot to kill people or make them ‘living corpses’ (depending on level of exposure). The black soot situation began in Port Harcourt in 2016 (not 2017). So it means Port Harcourt residents have done two, in another three they will be dead (or living corpses with terminal diseases). This does not include children below the age of five whose lungs are not developed enough to withstand in-take of toxic substances as dangerous as black soot. For children born this year, they could die before their 3rd birth day because of severe deformity of their lungs caused by black soot.

In part one of our series on “Port Harcourt! Now City of The Living Dead” we observed that “…residents of Port Harcourt can actually do something to save their children….” Someone read the story online and reacted in a worrisome manner. What was that reaction? The person wrote that only federal or state government can do something and there was nothing parents could do for their children except relocating them to other states. Funny but disturbing. So there is even an option which is to relocate the kids? For your information some people have actually relocated their children. I ask again, can you equate the cost of relocating your children to the cost of having them alive with deformed lungs and excruciating pains experienced every time they breathe due to terrible diseases caused by black soot?

Relocating the kids may be okay but that is not the option advocated here. Before running away from a battle you have to fight first otherwise you cannot call it a battle. Are we saying that the entire state cannot be shut down until something is done by the relevant authorities? This shut down is what so many people have been screaming for on radio, television and social media. They believe that once all workers in public and private sectors shut down, something MUST happen. This includes shutting down all business in the city. We agree with those who share this view. Everyone is involved. Everyone is dying. You cannot be making money you will only use to take care of lung disease or cancer later in life. What is the essence?
Where are all those unions that dash into strike action once their salary is tampered with – Resident Doctors, Tanker drivers that know how to embark on strike on Christmas day, the entire NLC,NUC TUC, where are they? Nothing new is being said here. So many people are saying this on radio, television and social media, yet nothing is happening. People are not yet serious to pull down solution to the crisis. Of course, this is Nigeria. Action will definitely start when the first 200 people die at the same time. Then the Unions will wake up, residents will start talking, government will then swing into action.
As pointed out earlier, there is nothing new being said here. People are already screaming in the media that there is need to mobilize against the black soot. But “slaktivism” will not help matters here. Slaktivism is a term coined by Dwight Ozard and Fred Clark in 1995 which basically refers to armchair activism. It refers to being an online activist, signing online petitions and showing much desire to do something online but when it comes to physically coming out to do the battle and achieve the goal, you hide or use excuses to sit back. As Izuchukwu Mekowulu puts it, “Slaktivist activities include signing internet petition, copying and pasting of social network statuses or messages. In everyday language, the slaktivist is just an “oh yes member” of a social course; who just sits back and expects that others will take the needed high risk action that would bring about change.” So we need to understand that no battle is completely won in the air, that is, through air strikes. You still need boots on the ground to wrap up the fight.
Of course there are several instances across the world where people were mobilized through social media to come out for struggles and they succeeded. It is not only the popular Arab spring or several movements across the US which began online. This is a serious life and death matter that should not be left for politicians alone.

The churches and other worship centers must be part of this mission to save Port Harcourt from mass death or should I just say “mass cancer”. The pastor and congregation both breathe in black soot with very tiny metal particles which end up in their lungs waiting for the right quantity and time to destroy them. Since there is nothing like “Black soot anointing’, the churches should not keep quiet at all.
In terms of what has been done thus far by residents of Port Harcourt and government, let’s take a cue from what konbini.com wrote concerning the situation: “The black soot which is believed to cause respiratory diseases, and even cancer, led Nigeria’s ministry of environment to declare an air pollution emergency in the affected areas. At the time, the ministry claimed preliminary test samples of the soot indicated it was caused by “incomplete combustion of hydrocarbons” as well as “asphalt processing and illegal artisanal refinery operations.” Burning tyres for scrap copper and illegal oil refineries have both been blamed for the residue. The state government shut down an asphalt processing plant operating in the area and sealed off a Chinese company in the city for “aggravated air pollution, and breach of environmental laws”. The hashtag #StopTheSoot was used to protest on Twitter, people shared photographs of their hands and feet covered in the dust, and protest marches were organised. For a while, the soot stopped, but as of today, it appears that it has fully returned, and residents are once again in a panic. The #StopTheSoot has returned and we, as a nation, need to pay attention to the plight of the people in Port Harcourt.”
So the fact is that the black soot did not just return, it is “enjoying” a free street party right now and the situation is truly dire. It is dreadful, lamentable, and urgent.

Again, the warning continues. Port Harcourt is now the city of the living dead. People are committing suicide yet they are pretending not to know that. Black soot is an open door to premature deaths. What is the essence of striving hard to make money in an atmosphere of black soot, knowing quite well you are heading towards premature death only to be survived by children with deformed lungs and regular visits to the hospital due to heart diseases and chronic asthma? This is food for thought.

The Director of Transport (DOT), Students Union Government (SUG) of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Comrade Keto Obi, has commended the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, for fulfilling his promise of putting street lights along the road leading to Igbariam campus of the institution.

Comrade Obi said the governor has proved that he is a man of his words, as the street lights are now fully functional.

He added that this would take care of security issues associated with the roads where the street lights were mounted.

With the rate at which the black soot disaster is unfolding unchecked, it is clear, though no one in that city would accept this, that people residing in that city are walking corpses. In fact, if the residents walk a little slower, you could rightly describe them as zombies. Some religious people reading this introduction will quickly say “it is not my portion!” But they have been “feeding fat” on this dangerous substance for some years without doing anything to draw attention of authorities to the impending disaster with a view to addressing it.
Everyone is complaining yet going about their normal businesses. Why is Port Harcourt now the city of the living dead? What is black soot and what is it doing to the health of those living in that city? What is really happening in Port Harcourt?

Let no one get deceived by the safety measures being spread in the media (general cleaning, shut windows, use nose mask, etc.). The Port Harcourt situation is beyond those measures.

A woman has unfortunately aborted her upcoming wedding after stealing her bride price form her fiancé’s house.

The woman, 25-year-old Paidmoyo Gambiza, has been arrested for allegedly conniving with her boyfriend’s daughter to steal about $1 780, which her boyfriend intended to use to pay her bride price.

Paidmoyo Gambiza (25), who lives at house number 2199, Ascot Infill, Gweru, Zimbabwe, and the girl appeared before Gweru magistrate Ms Vimbai Makora, facing charges of unlawful entry and theft.

They both pleaded not guilty to the offence. Ms Makora set April 9 as the date for trial continuation.

The court heard that on March 3, 2018, Gambiza and the girl hatched a plan to steal from her boyfriend’s house in Mkoba Village 16. They proceeded to the targeted property knowing fully well that the complainant, only identified as Chikara, was away. They subsequently used a wire to break into his home through the window and stole $1 780.

The duo then proceeded to pay Chikara’s fellow tenants $2 as hush money.

When Chikara returned from his rural home, where he had visited to tell his relatives about his planned nuptials with Gambiza, his neighbour, Ms Faith Mayolu, spilled the beans.

The story remains shocking and unbelievable to Chikara.

This sounds odd but it is part of the growing debate on the age of consent for sex across the world. France has taken the debate to another level with a new law now being considered.

France is considering changing its legal age of consent so that sex before the age of 15 is automatically considered rape after recent child sex cases raised serious concerns. At the moment, prosecutors have to prove that the underage sex was non-consensual to obtain a rape conviction.

The change is being proposed as a way to tackle issues with the laws in France that mean if no violence or coercion has taken place or been proved, offenders can only be charged with sexual abuse and not rape. In fact, sentences of this nature are the same for sexual assaults of minors and non-minors.

The debate around the age of consent is still as relevant and as serious as it ever was. In the UK, the age of consent is 16. But in Germany and Italy it is 14, whereas in Turkey the age of consent is 18. Yet, if we consider that one in three teenagers are having sex before the age of 16, does that mean the age of consent needs to be considered again in the UK?

Children and the law

It is an issue that emerges time and time again in the UK and it always remains at deadlock. But does UK law ensure that our children are always on the edge of being a “sex offender”?
In the UK, under the Sexual Offences Act 2003, it is illegal to engage in sexual activity with someone under the age of 16. In some cases, it may be a defence to say that it was reasonable that there was a belief that the person was 16 or over. But, ordinarily, a “sex offender” is likely to be imprisoned for around five years if someone was under 18 at the time. The sentence increases to ten years to life if the offender is over 18 at the time of the offence.

In effect, it does not matter what your age is. But if you have sex with someone under 16, you become a sex offender. That is despite half of all UK teenagers having their first sexual experience by the age of 14, according to the National Survey of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles. So is it right to see young people hauled before the courts, convicted and put on a sex offenders register alongside adult rapists and paedophiles?

This is the reality but the law is there for a reason – to protect the vulnerable and less experienced. Although this does not always happen. The NSPCC says five child sex offences are reported every hour. It is no surprise then that people have expressed concerns that some sex offenders would see any change in the law on consent as an opportunity to focus their sexual intentions on young teenagers. The worry is it could lead to an increase in abuse cases and increasing pressure to have sex at a younger age.
Some are concerned that it might lead to a further increase in STI rates and unwanted pregnancies (the UK has some of the highest rates of teenage pregnancies in Western Europe).

There are wider issues relating to the sexualisation of childhood and the culture that we live in. Can we not just let children be children?

There is also the issue of education – or lack of it – in schools and at home relating to sexual consent and behaviour. So lowering the age of consent is not necessarily the answer.

A confusing global picture

While 16 remains the average age of consent in Europe and beyond, there are dramatic differences globally. This ensures there are confused messages about when it is right to have sex or not. In some countries, you have to be married before you have any sexual relations (Iran, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia). In other countries, you can have sex from the age of 11 (Nigeria) and quite a few countries allow the age of consent to be 13, including Japan and Niger. For many, for the age of consent to be so low is unthinkable. But it may reflect the traditions, religion, culture and history of a particular country.

Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) has banned all programming covering “prosperity and miracle prophets” on its platforms.

This action seems to be premised on public outrage on the number of prosperity messages on radio.

In this first of firsts, ZBC says it has taken in complaints from the community.

The latest report covered by the Daily News notes that there has been an unprecedented coverage of prophets at the expense of news, sports, business, entertainment and other programming.
ZBC acting head of Radio Services Albert Chekayi confirmed the public broadcaster had halted prophets’ programmes to assess if they were not infringing on the rights of their diverse audience.

Chekayi said once the process is complete, the broadcaster will re-engage those whose programmes would have been affected.

The ZBC operates four radio stations and one television station.

“What has happened is we have temporarily suspended the programmes to allow us to have a re-look considering the many complaints that we have received from the public who are the owners of the radio stations since we are a public broadcaster,” Chekayi said.

“This decision was taken by us… as we are answerable to the listeners. Remember, a public broadcaster does not just target profits but the interests of those who pay licences. Once the process is complete, it will inform us what steps to take.

“Remember, Zimbabwe is a country that upholds freedom of religion but guided by the Bill of Rights in our Constitution the freedoms one enjoys do not need to infringe on the rights of other citizens.
“So, as a public broadcaster, we have the balancing role of ensuring that no section of the country’s population is offended by the content we broadcast,” he added.

Recently, head of the European Union (EU) delegation in Zimbabwe, Ambassador Philippe Van Damme, said he was amazed with the over population of prophets in this country.

“In biblical tradition in the bible in the Old Testament you have quite some prophets but never with the density as in this country,” he said.

“I observe the sociological phenomenon from where I can observe them and my observations lead me to conclude ‘as you have fake news you have fake prophets’ driven by commercial interests,” he said.
