These men you are insulting are smart enough to know the consequences of backing rebellion against the state. They don't want to turn their region into another Bok.o Haram playground. No sane leader openly encourages or supports mutiny against the state. She jejely locked the door and moved out. I was so scared that I couldn't sleep till I checked out around 6am. On my way out I wanted to ask her what she wanted in my room at that time of the night but she was no where to be found. I left and never came back. Are you kidding me right now? What on earth could she be looking for in your room in the dead of the night? One really has to be vigilant and avoid random hotels. |

Why would anyone want to retire at 40 when life is just beginning? Stopping work at 40 is like taking a step closer the grave. You don't only work for money, you work to keep your brain active and your health bubbling. Inactivity is a killer disease, I don't think you know this. While some wealthy people in their 80's are still active in their successful companies to keep them upbeat and healthy, a youth wants to run away from work at this early stage. You need to check your mental condition. This is how many fraudulent able-bodied young folks are claiming unemployment benefits abroad while refusing to take job offers that are available. Why do you think most sports personalities upon retirement as players go into coaching, sports commentary, sports broadcasting, national sports administration, and even politics? They know how it feels like to wake up every day, eat, drink, sleep and do nothing. My friend, to repeat this process every day when you are not up to 70 or 80 years is equivalent to being dead while breathing. In fact you will feel dead. You won't need anyone to tell you that you are living like a dead person. It is actually a curse to retire from work at 40. Mind you, it is not the same thing as being very wealthy at 40. These are totally different dreams! One is a curse, while the other is a blessing. |

So I’m the one that they choose to do the talking most of the time . while praying it got to a point I started blabbing .. Then my leader now asked me if there was hot yam in my mouth.. She was surprised..since then it has got worse..To pray sef I’ll finding words to use.. Please what do you advise me to do and share more light on leg of house. Your leader saw what was in your mouth (in the spirit), and stated it jokingly. But you didn't take it seriously. You went to sleep thinking it was normal and would go away. If too much talking is actually responsible for this kind of problem, then 90% of preachers and comedians should be suffering from it. Don't let people deceive that this is medical. Enquire before finding solutions. Pursuing solutions without correct enquiry is a futile exercise. |

NoToPile: The OP is not seeing it the way you and some of us are seeing it which is father in law hosted the guests EOD
He is concerned( using a mild word) that it was clear to all and sundry that the FIL did all the extra stuff's like the extra drinks extra food and all. Possibly he might have felt better there were no extra stuff's or it was not visible to all where they came from.
Not a healthy thinking at all, this line of thought will begin to grow and grow and resentment for his wife's family will set in if he's not careful. If they buy clothes for baby wahala, if they say this wahala, if wife talks too much wahala.
It's even better the bride's father spent the money on the rice and cows than giving it to the couple, if the FIL did give them the money only God knows what the OP would be thinking. You are right that we see things differently. He needs to overcome the thought because it seems to be growing bigger by the day. Make him nor get hypertension o. |

babyfaceafrica: True, I am more concerned with after wedding than the wedding itself. Yeah I get your point sir. Well since his in-laws haven't been disrespectful to him, I don't think they will now. So long as he is not dependent on them for his daily upkeep, he is good. He just needs to treat their daughter nicely like every good husband. The only part he silently mentioned in his one of his replies was that his girl likes quarrel. Let's take that her little baggage which he can manage. The long and short is that he didn't beg for the assistance he got. Whatever assistance they rendered was not even to him in the real sense, but for their own pleasure and ego. Abi them carry the 8 bags of rice give am? He met his own budget. Simple. So it is none his business really. He is a man running his own house now. He should enjoy his life, love his wife and be the oga. |

babyfaceafrica: I would have preferred they set you with the money spent on the wedding. Wedding is just a day, why spending heavily when they know you aren't buoyant? It's not a big deal for rich in-laws. Good in-laws do their best to beautify their children's wedding ceremonies. Money is the paintbrush here. Unless such in-laws have openly belittled him, the spending is neither unusual nor abnormal. |
Family › Re: Her Parents Sponsored Our Wedding, Should I Be Worried. by mastermaestro(m): 1:27pm On Nov 14, 2021 |
Tonero5200: Okay thanks very much. Quit worrying. Those from the West say it's a cultural thing. Well I don't know about that because I am not from that part. I would tell you not to worry. When all my four sisters go married at various times, my dad spent money on their wedding ceremonies as though it was his own wedding. Cow, drinks, reception and other stuffs, besides what my in-laws did. That's who my dad has always been. Once he sees you as family, he offers his full support wholeheartedly expecting nothing in return. Years have gone by, my in-laws have no regrets over the 'unsolicited' assistance they got during their weddings to my sisters. Good in-laws make life easy for you. Just enjoy your life, and please do not betray the love they've shown you. |

VivJohn: I'm sure you aren't married, and judging by your nairaland gender symbol, you are most likely male. Trust me, someday and in some foreseeable future, you'd find out that being married isn't the ideal fantasyland you dreamt it would be. Both husband and wife go through phases where a little distraction helps deal with domestic stress and trials. These convenient distractions are not meant to destroy or weaken the fabrics of your marriage, but rather spicen and ensure the spark remains lit.
Men by their very nature are more disposed to episodes of such distractions. It's basically a coping mechanism. Married men keeping and actively communicating with single ladies isn't necessarily for sexual benefits. Rather, as men grow older and rack up more years in matrimony, there's rekindled desire to revive youthful zest and its indulgences. It is a perfectly normal reflex which most men will experience at some point in their lives. You inclusive.
I understand the context of this story slightly differs from my opinion piece. But all the same, I believe there's a lot to learn about marriage and external relationships. This whole epistle to just beautify an anomaly. Clap for yourself. I don't have strength to argue with someone who sees nothing wrong in hanging around other people's spouses to the extent of evoking jealousy. Go back and read her supposed dilemma created by herself. |

When you corner a child and deny them a healthy social life, you end up with stuffs like this. Something tells me that your sister's only way of meeting the world is through social media. Since she probably can't visit her friends around, or receive her friends at home, she is stuck on her phone.
A little freedom to socialize doesn't spoil a child. |

RAFFIZY: Good day everyone, I want to raise an issue that has been bothering me as a sibling, and also to my parents,my sister who has just finished her ssce exams has been engaged in indecent chats with various people on her phone,we were brought up under strict muslim parents, honestly they have done a good job parenting so far,for the fact that my mum knew something was fishy because she is always with her phone. Her phone has been seized, since this happened yesterday she has refused to greet my parents or even assist in helping my mum cook and also refused to eat as well. Both parents have tried the best they can to enlighten us about social media and how to moderately use it,but my sister wouldn't care to listen, its as if she is possessed because it has happened more than once under my parents watch. Parents on this forum, kindly suggest ways to treat this matter urgently. I am curious to know the contents of her 'indecent' chats. Honestly you are sounding paranoid. |

I like to say things the way they are. It's not negativity but reality., Onyen " negative".
