Wow. So many views, so many clearing agents, (so they say) yet no one can offer any advice / help?My brother I feel your pain, this is how business works (or doesn't) in Nigeria, I suggest you threaten to stop posting here, then maybe you will get some more practical advice from the professionals ![]() My personal experience is limited to personal effects and it cost me about N400k for a 20ft (which I wasn't happy with) so can't point you in the same direction. My feeling was that they just make it up based on what they think you can pay. from the customs website femmy posted, you should be looking 15% '8708.9900.00' http://www.customs.gov.ng/hscode/resulthscode.php?TYPE=DESC&HSCODE=parts&MODE=ALL However customs are a law unto themselves, so I wouldn't rely on that. |
@mastro Well if you are interested why not come and buy , Give me a reliable dealer willing to buy cash not finance. I think that would save me from lots of stress. Thanks for your contributionDude how can a dealer pay finance? Begone scammer |
Yer right, ![]() Shipping and clearing will be at least $5000, so you are trying to claim that you can't find a dealer (not to talk of individual) who will give you $15k for a 05 645i convertible with 64k on the clock. I say 419 Edmunds says value $30k so they call bullshit as well http://www.edmunds.com/bmw/6-series/2005/?ps=used&sub=convertible I suggest you go ply your trade elsewhere especially taking your other posts into consideration, Ole, thief, buyers run O!!! Oh and damscoe see you've only been registered 4 days, you aren't doing yourself any favors defending such rubbish, for e12k you will be buying http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/showDetails.html?id=138958071&__lp=4&scopeId=C&sortOption.sortBy=searchNetGrossPrice&makeModelVariant1.makeId=3500&makeModelVariant1.modelId=31&minFirstRegistrationDate=2005-01-01&damageUnrepaired=ALSO_DAMAGE_UNREPAIRED&export=ALSO_EXPORT&lang=en&pageNumber=1 Mastro |
So what kind of 419 are you doing? Do you really think anyone here would fall for that? Although I shouldn't be too quick to judge it might be a written off stolen car. $20k my backside. Or maybe this is the picture from before the accident! |
Good day. Please I need people on this forum to comment on integrity of INSPIRED-M. I am about to do a business with him and will appreciate useful information about his trustworthiness and integrity. Your responses will be highly appreciated.hmm, Inspired it's Friday O, you need to see your boys so we can comment here ![]() Osatoboy, one of the joys of open forums is that you can go through the persons old posts, in fact what you need to do is search on the persons name and see what other posters have been saying about the person, then look at the comment record of the most positive posters and the most negative posters, from that you can draw a pretty accurate picture of the persons honestly or otherwise. Also seeing that he is a moderator here there will be of course a level of brownnosing, on the other hand I don't see any real complaints about his moderator role which I guess is a pointer to his character Also as obi58 has said trust but verify |
as a slight spin off of this idea Can we get the moderators to pin any post that is not a for sale thread to the top for a period of time (I suggest 2 days) this will ensure visibility and hopefully encourage members to contribute. As for an approved section, it would probably require too much work unless the dealers are ready to pay for it, then you have the situation of how to resolve disputes where a "approved dealer" is involved. |
Has this money fallen from the sky yet ![]() |
This is why progress is so slow in this our country, so bombs went off in Bauchi (which we don't even know if mobiles were used to detonate) at 8pm, that is now used to justify shutting down communication in the Abuja (100's of kilometers away) for the whole day, bearing in mind that the so called Abuja explosion has not actually been attributed to a bomb yet.pls elaborate. Which bomb? was it the one at Army mammy mkt Bauchi or was it in Abuja? An update from a witness in Abuja . . . . Visit this thread ===========> https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-678311.0.html . . .though the news is swarming about the Bauchi bomb blast . . . It's takes some time for news to filter out . . It's almost like most of you here don't understand what it takes for a democracy to survive, so come next election day and they shut down networks across the whole country what then? Or worse what if a bomb had actually gone off in Abuja, how would the emergency services respond? Since most of them were not informed of this silly measure beforehand. |
It sucks! why would they do that? Cant they just jam the network within the area the ceremony was being held? Many people were cut off from their businesses, friends, family and importally from safety in case of emergency. It MUST not repeat itself again! Angry Angry Angry AngryI guess they have to start as they intend to continue, after all we exist at their pleasure, it's bloody 9.49 in the evening still no service, would someone like to explain the democratic principal that say the whole of the town can't communicate with each other because they are scared of their own shadows. Polite words can't explain how angry this makes me. |
I should probably obey the maxim about arguing with a fool*, but this exactly what we are talking about, misleading advertisements, why would an honest dealer change cars mid thread and not simply create a new post? More importantly what happened to the original pictures? you are obviously not only dishonest but stupid as well. * he will drag you down and beat you on experience |
Quote from: Piedpiper on Today at 12:21:26 PMThis is exactly the kind of "car dealer" we are talking about, un_limited better stop with the unlimited lies, when in a hole stop digging. |
Is it an accident car, or is it stolen? Since you refuse to post the VIN, those are fair questions, |
VIN please |
I went carshopping on Saturday from leads generated from Nairaland and my experience was at best traumatic. Since dem say make we no call names of dealers, at least I will mention the cars.My brother I had the quote you in full, this saga in a nutshell is exactly how most car dealers work, I trust you have taken the VIN and checked it, I suggest you pop over to the dealer at the earliest opportunity and collect your deposit back. Also is wise to look at the documentation and ask to see the person whose name the car is in as I've heard stories of cars being sold by the dealer who then tells the seller that it's not sold yet, apart from the usual of selling the car for say N2m and telling the seller that it sold for N1.5m. In truth it's not easy buying a car. |
The Rapture happened. None of you qualified! . er does that mean I didn't qualify either ![]() |
Another problem I see here is that when a member points out wrong/misleading information on an advertisement, there is always some other member/s who will say"don't spoil his business" leave him be, etc etc. It's like the fake dealers who have been exposed here, there were always those posters on their side and I don't recall any of the defenders apologising, still some of those threads were the most entertaining ![]() Now I accept that there is a fine line between valid criticism and spoiling business, for what it's worth I sometimes probably step over the boundary myself, like pointing out when a car is much too expensive, but the big question is, what is the point of this forum, is it to help dealers or help the general membership. For what it's worth I think the 2 go hand in hand if we are very critical and point out wrong information, over priced cars dodgy dealers, etc, then what we will have left is the honest dealers with fairly priced cars, which in turn should mean that more people will look at the forum as a place to buy cars, win win. Personally I would ban ads without VIN and Price as I see no reason why any genuine seller would not provide these, Naija used car or not. |
you mean get locked in a toilet by a young thief? |
I suggest you tell your seller that $50,000 is too much for a Nigerian used 4 year old ML. |
Buyer beware, is the bottom line, Unfortunately in my experience like all salesmen, car dealers lie, problem is that because it is such a major purchase it tends to be a major lie. Even looking at pictures and reading the descriptions some of the lies are quite obvious. in fact there is one on the front page right now where car is described as supermint, complete with torn leather, worn steering wheel and broken lights. basically comes down to if pre-ordering use a trusted dealer and cover yourself, escrow etc, as laid out in the sticky threads, if buying locally then prepare to burn petrol, if it's not as described walk away there are 1000's of cars out there. Misleading is misleading whatever the cause, as I pointed out earlier this week by posting an advertisement up in the forum posters have to take responsibility, no excuses. got a friend who "pre-orderd" a RED 04 Accord but got a GREY 03 Nigerian used Accord instead. Dealer strippd off the plate number (no engravings on car so twas sortof easy) and sold car to him like it just arrived from the "states". Although we got a good discount on the car as we "eventually" found out + no major issues with the car till date even after over a year + car still looks and drives clean. My ONLY issue was that the thread was opened for the pre-orderd RED Accord, when actually the buyer got a GREY "naija used" EOD AngryIf someone is selling you a tokunbo car ask for the import docs, and why didn't you just get your money back off him, or did you not have a signed agreement? If you accepted a different car at a different price however you have no cause to complain. |
pls come over to check urself,am not a bike guy, d seller just told me to help him advertise this, thank u# Fair enough to some extent, but as the seller here you have a responsibility to convey accurate information, I suggest you go back to your person and tell him what I said and update this post with accurate information. |
As a rider of one I can tell you that the last year of production of the pictured zx6 was 2006, last of the 636's. So please go and verify the true year of manufacture. Oh and it's not a turbo, Mastro |
Re: How Do I Get A Brand New Golf IiiTime travel |
very nice car, much too expensive |
Larryshow, if you feel that you only owe him N12k then why agree to pay him N25k? I'm sure Inspired and the rest of the forum will be happy to hear you out. Integrity also means fighting your corner. |
Please refer yourself to https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-571978.0.html |
350, 550, 450, 3000, 350, ML, GL, C class, E class, etc My brother a bit more information is required ![]() |
Mod has spoken, All bow down in awe Though still don't know why 1. OP didn't state he was owed N24k in the 1st place. 2. OP won't paste pictures of damage he claims happened during delivery. (because if I brought a car and a dealer damaged it during transit, he is paying for it) But all in all there is no reason why Larryshow didn't ask someone to pay the money on his behalf especially if it was the N12,000 initially asked for. |
Well never afraid to add my 5 kobo's worth. while I'm never one to side with dealers in this case I think benvin is dead wrong, if you are bringing the issue to the forums you have a responsibility to tell your side of the story not rain abuse like a 9 year old, so calm down. Firstly in a couple of paragraphs explain how much you think you are owed and why, pictures would help. Larryshow has stated that he owes you N12k is that correct? Mastro |
Oh and my other pet hate, clocked cars, of which I have 1st hand experience, you will hardly find Tokunbo cars with stamped up service books, I've been shown a 2004 accord with 15,000 miles on the clock with worn seats and pedals, me thinks more like 205,000 as I told the dealer who wasn't very happy ![]() Problem is of course that clocking cars nowadays is very very easy, mileage correction they call it. |
There are probably loads of stolen cars on the roads of Nigeria, the average Nigerian buyer doesn't care if the car is stolen, remember https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-325031.0.html Though I still don't understand why all imports are not run through the Interpol database before being issued papers, actually I do understand ![]() |
The best response to such idiotic behaviour is to think, what would Jesus do? Why is this in Politics? How does burning a book help anyone or anything? Don't know who is the biggest ******* your pastor or you for following him, I guess though that the 2 go and in hand, go with God |
IF Religion is the problem would someone like to explain to me why in Yorubaland virtually every family has Christian's and Muslims living in harmony? Religion is just an excuse, remember people religion and culture go hand in hand the current problems in the North IMO are simply that the "Elite" have used religion as an excuse to avoid educating their masses and their culture supported this and while in the olden days this might have been workable it simply doesn't work in the Modern day and age. What we are seeing is the fallout from that. |
