But Asiwaju was taunting one of the presidential candidates the other day if " na data we go chop"? Without data, NBS is nothing. |
Good people still around in this country Even in the midst of depravity. Big up Labani |
Good development. Traders and the commuting public can now have a sigh of relief. Kudos to Soludo. |
Crazy things are happening! |
It is an open secret. Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) has been on ground for as long as I can remember but has been unwilling to checkmate the incessant killings of the locals neither has the perpetrators been successfully arrested, prosecuted and punished accordingly. In my estimation, the only group that has found SAFE HAVEN on the plateau are the blood thirsty -land grabbing Futa jalon marauders under the protection of yours truly - The Nigeria Army. With such claims from CAN, one can only but agree that their culpability and tacit complicity may be the reason behind the recalcitrant and pervasive insecurity on the plateau. |
EconomistXplain:I quite agree with you sir. But listening to industry players lately e.g Bismarck Rewane and Paul Alaje to mention a few, one gets the feeling that those costs were almost negligible and that producing in Nigeria may increase availability but little price differential from current realities. Also remember that Dangote is sourcing the crude in dollars and at international rates with no concessions from the government. Another worrisome dimension we are overlooking is that if the price of petroleum products dips significantly, we may go back to contending with our products being stolen across the border once again. |
Richtaiwo:Why are you sounding one kind? Can you decipher anything from the opening statement of Cardoso that you pasted? I guess you don't know the quantum of promises that Nigerians have heard from governments over the years that didn't come to fruition . Maybe you weren't born when they promised us that we are the leaders of tomorrow or when they promised us uninterrupted power supply by the year 2000. Housing for all by the year 2000 was almost a national anthem that also did not see the light of the day. Except for a very naive Nigerian, who rejoices at government statements these days without juxtaposing it with realities on the ground. For the avoidance of doubt, the government refinery that is giving you orgasms has not even been completed and Dangote refinery is yet to go live on premium motor spirit (petrol). So where is the assumed price moderation in PMS coming from? Don't be like a child promised sweet upon the mothers return from the market which was not fulfilled but again promised the same sweet on the next market day and he goes around jerring to his friends how his mother is going to bring him sweet. I would be the most joyous if PMS price would come down as I spend an average of 20k per week fueling my car for work commuting and sundry activities but my expectations must be balanced against the fluctuating and volatile nature of the commodity vis a vis international politic and happenings. Any supply chain disruption in the Red Sea can push crude prices to a level that will make nonsense Cardoso's price moderation and you may be the only gullible Nigerian left hanging. We are watching with cautious optimism. |
Hmmm! The over reliance on the Dangote refinery as a panacea to solving all our economic woes is pedestrian. For one Dangote who is buying crude at international dollar denominated price is going to be selling refined products at cost reflective rate which may end up being at par with what obtains currently. We are more guaranteed of products availability than lower prices when the product hit the market. |
If the naira is undervalued, what step are they taking to reflate it to its market value? Enough of highlighting our problems. Get to work and defend the naira as mandated by your job description instead of moving directorates here and there and causing commotion everywhere. |
670/L in Makurdi, Benue state. |
This is suppose to be a federal agency paid using the ippis(integrated personal payroll information system) platform isn't it? How is it possible to divert personnel budget to capital project? This news get k-leg. |
The police never disappoints in matters of demanding and accepting bribes. The patriotic zeal for the job has been sacrificed for the allure of self aggrandizement. The rot in the force rises up to the top hierarchy and only an "excision biopsy" can rid it of the putrefaction. |
We are blessed with awarding new contracts for new projects at inflated costs but when it comes to maintening such edifices, "apology" is our name. We need a revival in this wise. This and other sports facilities in the country owned by the government should be concessioned to private entities for effective and efficient management. |
This is a legend. The "Fuji Ropopo" crooner Wish you speedy recovery sir. |
Which kind of rough play is this? We are even so vexed now more than before with the mindless and heinous crimes being committed these days with no visible commensurate punishment. We need a strong deterrence and only the return of firing squads will "cool our temper". The masses may resort to public lynching on an industrial scale of apprehended criminals if the government succumbs to such counsel. The UN should channel this advice to Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Some states in USA and others UN should stop drinking water on our behalf please. |
When men were boys. Our pride then knew no bounds. We were an emerging country preparatory to being granted full Autonomy and a promising future was ours to actualize. BUT......... |
Nuggets for rest of mind. Thanks for sharing sir. |
Confucius!! Me think they want to buy enough time because they are not allowed to legally hold him beyond 48 hours without charges |
Why should Asiwaju pick a northerner for Betta's replacement? Would they in all honesty be happy if the table is turned their way? |
Just imagine! Someone moved 4B in one year from security vote account of a state and the person was allowed to leave the country after his tenure elapsed. Are they just finding out or is it a clear case of dereliction of duty? |
Why are these herders so stubborn? Must they ply their trade at the expense of people's ancestral lands, properties and lives? I hope they are aware that they have an equal and brutal match in ESN? |
What is this again? Is iniquity going out of fashion that people are rushing to commit heinous crimes at such an alarming rate? |
Hope this is not beer palour gist? |
Thanks for bringing this to public discuss. I have always had my reservations for this trend which is fast gaining popularity. Firstly, the assertion of improvement in water run off does not hold water. A 45 degree slope is enough evacuate any amount of precipitation. The idea may have started from people copying western designs without configuring them to our climate. The high roof creates space for the attic which "oyibo" people also use as living spaces. But in our clime, you would fry to death because of the heat up there. Some have adduced that it makes the house cooler. This is another misconception because simple physics should tell them that the larger surface area of roofing tiles or aluminium exposed to the sun increases the convection of heat into the living spaces. More worrisome is the addition of cornices or parapet which prevents the roof from breathing thereby trapping tremendous heat in the attic and by extension the living spaces below. Visiting old institutions built during the colonial era, you will marvel at how passive those design were and are liveable even without artificial cooling e.g UI main library, UCH main structures, ABH. In a nut shell, increasing floor to ceiling height with clerestory Windows is more tropical oriented than the miss-fit we are discussing. |
Those request you itemized are sacrosanct but i can guarantee you that their discussions would revolve round Loans , Debt Restructuring and return of looted funds. Save this post for update |
The ruling of the supreme Court has nullified the judgement of the appealate court by proxy. Justice was miscarried in this case but the decision of the court is final. |
So sweet. |
Not again! No culprit has been tried and sentenced for previous acts of genocide, so why will the vicious marauders be afraid ? They have come to associate government with only BARKING potentials without the BITING Will power. |
I see! I see!! Every year they package their hallucinations as prophecy from God and are never ashamed that what they proclaim doesn't come to pass. They think we are ignorant of the punishment that should follow their acclaimed failed prophecy which is instant death. Deuteronomy 18:20 |
ppogba:Sir, you have said it all. Permission to use your quote "The stock market is like a gangan(drum), as it faces one person, it backs another person" QED |
ppogba:There are TRADERS and INVESTORS in the stock market. Dangote cement and sugar stocks are for long term holdings and dividends cash flow. I acquired the above since 2006 and have kept them as an investment only selling of the flour stock. However, the banking stocks are for trading. Buy low and sell high and repeat the process over again. This is trading which is also legitimate but subject to a lot of uncertainty and insider information. |
