ppogba:Nice submission sir. Infact FUGAZ( first bank, UBA, GTB, Access and Zenith banks) have all reached and exceeded 1 trillion naira in the NGX. Zennith bank as at my last check is the most capitalized in Nigeria up to the tune of 1.9 T. With such huge capital, they can massively buy up shares of other tier-2 banks and effect a hostile takeover. As concerning the value of bank shares, I can't claim expertise in stock trading as we all have made and lost money trading in the NGX. Let's just watch as the drama unfolds. |
Hmmm The flying antelope . With his refinery on line, his worth can only move upwards. The recent investment by Otedola into Dangote cement has also seen a rise in his share capital. It would even get better when the refinery puts out its public offering. Nice one |
Realdeals:Anyone buying bank shares at this moment may be gambling. Most banks may approach the stock market to raise capital in the event of a 900B recapitalization. After such public offerings, share prices usually settle down to market values which is the best time to buy. Most bank shares now are overvalued and those that know will quietly divest their shares while the gullible will buy and start recording capital depreciation. |
This Long expected recapitalization would shore up their resilience to external shocks and engender depositors confidence in the banking sector. With such huge capital base, our banks would become big players in financing huge projects instead of government always running to the Chinese Exim bank or AfDB for loans. This may lead to bank mergers and some outright "hostile takeovers" but the industry would be better for it. Kudos to the regulators. |
Judiciary for SALE . Courts of coordinate jurisdiction giving counter judgement on the same issue. |
Mehn! See set up. You can't outsmart some masters sometimes. According to Wike; " when it is time, we will know who is innnnnnnnnn..... CHARGE" If e didn't dey, e didn't dey |
Efcc and ICPC should do the needful please. Vox populi vox dei |
It is expected. In my candid opinion, this move is a dangerous precedence. If moving FAAN and some directorates in CBN is for efficiency. What is NNPCL and NDDC still doing in Abuja. We can't use the south African model of having different capitals for different sectors here because we are not south Africans and our democracy is modeled after the American system which domiciles all MDAs in Washington DC. Just like Buhari neglected federal character and had a loop sided cabinet thereby setting a precedence which Asiwaju has latched onto with the north unable to complain. We may one day see a president move the seat of power to his village and who will have the moral latitude to question his decision if we allow the present anomaly to slide. |
Hypertension and diabetes are chronic illnesses that can be managed. They are not debilitating if controlled to warrant a sack from a job you are already engaged in. Just maybe the new company does not want loss of man hours due to such employees going for medical follow-ups and the attendant cost of medications and investigations. The managers of the new company may even also be sufferers of one the the illnesses you mentioned. |
Not again! Have women carried the "no gree for anybody " slogan into their matrimony also? Let this epidemic of announcing breakups on social media stop abeg. |
What a loss!!! War is no video game. |
The end of an Era. If only we all realised that this life is a loan we must all pay back with the currency of DEATH. If only we constantly remind ourselves that all our "gettings" would amount to nothing when frailty consumes us on our death beds. If only we see life as a vapour which soon disappears into nothingness. Adieu Aketi! |
The kidnapping epidemic ravaging the nation at the same time is suspicious. Jonathan had Boko haram to contend with . Buhari's was Banditary Asiwaju has settled for nation wide Kidnapping. Curiously, insurgency is gradually fading into oblivion. For fear of sounding off like a conspiracy theorist, someone is using the instrument of FEAR to distract Nigerians from issues of governance with impressive effect. The truth is always hidden in plain sight |
I just don't get it. Why does it seem the country is suddenly in a kidnapping epidemic. Would it be out of place to say someone or some people want Nigerians to be in a state of perpetual FEAR? We have been DISTRACTED from issues of government and governance and that is the END GAME. |
Paraman:I read that piece some few weeks back and in all honesty may have gotten the above quote wrongly attributed to Cardoso. I had to paste it all the same since it's a reflection of the policy statement of this government even though it was not Cardoso's exact wordings. I could have ignored your request to show proof and in that wise spare myself any embarrassment but that's not my training. HOWEVER , a slip does not warrant the jab you took at me. Its all well! |
Paraman:“The World Bank said for 2023, our diaspora remittance was about $20 billion. We estimate that more than 90 percent of that did not get to Nigeria, they are being externalized. We have spoken to loads of Nigerians almost everywhere, in the US, UK, etc. They told us how they send remittance. They use Apps, and we have tried some of those Apps, they use parallel market rates. So, you take $1,000 in New York, and tap on your phone that you are sending $1,000 to someone, a Fintech, they pay the Naira equivalent in Nigeria without bringing the dollars, unless of course if the source of the money is illicit.” Taiwo Oyedele, Chairman, Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, has said. |
Insider trading. By investing in Dangote cement shares, the price has appreciated thereby increasing the net worth of Dangote's shares in the company and by extension his total net worth. I think this was the master stroke that led to him regaining his number 1 position on Forbes list. |
Blame it on Aboki fx and BDCs Wetin we never hear for dis country. Even Cardoso has joined in the cluelessness to say diaspora remittances are not coming through our banking system. I just wonder if NNPCL is not remitting dollars into the federation account. |
Is it the same reserve that was securitized against some of Buhari's borrowings and said to be at just 15 billion dollars or less ? (According to JP Morgan) Let them tell us our net balance please https://businessday.ng/business-economy/article/cbn-loans-from-foreign-banks-may-cost-nigeria-40-of-foreign-reserves/ |
Pencil is the scapegoat here. The undercurrent may have been brewing silently for probably some days and only manifested with pencil. Some of us can be childish eh! |
The hussle is real. People are really looking for paid employment in this country. |
Instead of the press disturbing their peace, the government needs to grant them free access to psychologic examination and counselling sessions. Their ordeal was really harrowing. |
Happy that he is following up using all available legal means at his disposal. He will definitely come out victorious. |
We don't have specifications for car manufacturers. If SON deems it necessary for all imported and locally assembled cars to have dashcam, then they will shape up. I bought one off the shelve on Konga many years ago but the video quality was nothing to write home about. |
"In the beginning, it was not so" |
These 2 will continue to dominate the top 2 positions as they take poll positions in unveiling their refineries and expand the metric tonnage from their cement companies. Congratulations to the duo of Dangote and Abdul Samad. Say NO to monopoly |
Jennyclay:My dear All you needed was just 2 men to conclude on us? Thats not an objective assessment of who we truly are. You are indirectly telling me you can assess a tribe by interacting with just 2 people from that tribe. Hate is a strong word my sister. Wish you well |
She is frigid resulting in vaginismus |
This your research is flawed and maliciously intended to mislead the general public. How many participants were inducted into this research before reaching your conclusion. What were your eligibility criteria for research participants? What was your research methodology? How did you eliminate bias? What were your confounding variables? |
"No gree for anybody" carried over board. Now, him must "gree" for court. 32 year olds fighting like children!! |
Infact, Iran, the Houthi's of Yemen and Hezbollah have diverted the world's attention from the Gaza conflict to the Red Sea. Isreal is commiting Genocide under this division as the world media covers more of the Red Sea trade route. Israel's right to defend itself against attacks has been carried too far abeg! |
This is beautiful. The government should help divert some cargos to this port to decongest Apapa port. This port looks under utilized. |
