PoliticsRe: FG: 'Obasanjo Only Released $3.08 Billion For Power Project' by maxell(f): 7:07pm On Mar 14, 2009
chidichris:
@Maxell,
now that you are calling yar adua useless, please give a name also to the one who forced yar adua on us.
if i am not biased, pdp did not choose yar adua and nigerians did not choose him rather one man did so pls give a name to that one man who believed he is the god of nigeria to force somebody on us.
Mr Chidichris

You are right; OBJ f'ked up imposing yar'aDOA on us. There is no doubt about that.

But OBJ has left power for almost 2 years now, should he continue to bear all the blame ?

Rather than moving the country forward by completing the NIPP projects, yar'aDOA focused on propaganda
he went on saying $10 billion was spent on power, when in fact it was just $3.08 billion

he just held up all the projects for no apparent reason. There are GE power turbines for the plants at lagos port;
they cannot be moved because yar'aDOA wouldn't fund it.

The contractors have abandoned many of the power sites because yar'aDOA wouldn't pay them.

Does he have the country's interest at heart ?

I hope you get my point. wink

SegzyJoe:
@post

I said it before that even the present Govt that condemned OBJ NIPP project has not come up with any better plan for the power sector.

A sector that suffered neglect for over 20years, the only person that dare attempt any radical reform to improve our fluctuating 1000 to 4000mw capacity is OBJ,

though there is a consensus that the project was not well monitored

but then OBJ attempted what others have shied away from for many years.

I wonder how all the morons that said all manners of nonsense on this forum concerning NIPP are feeling now.
God bless you jare SegzyJoe.

Like you said, up to date, they have no new ideas on how to fix the problem.

Yar'adua's govt has moved to fund the NIPP projects (finally) - the same one it has been condemning.

They inflated $3.08 billion to $16 Billion just to make OBJ look bad.

Useless Yar'aDOA lipsrsealed

PoliticsRe: Lagos Speaker Faults Discrimination Against Disabled by maxell(f): 7:29pm On Feb 17, 2009
Kobojunkie:
• Are these laws going to be implemented? – We already have thousands like these that to date have never been implemented. Worse, the average Nigerian still has no clue that he has a right to this or that.
• Is the bill going to provide resources enough to help people who have cases to file, actually fight or is this going to end on paper? I mean hope this will not stop at building ramps and what nots.
kobojunkie,

Why not give the legislators some credit; they are heading in the right direction with the law aren't they ? At least
there is more public awareness of the plight of disabled people wink

PoliticsRe: 5 Million Nigerians Worth More Than $1 Million Dollars by maxell(f): 11:37pm On Feb 05, 2009
Lagosboy:
A piece of land in Ikoyi cost around 100 million - 250 million naira. There are hundreds of plots of land there and people own them. This is just to butress the posters point and there could be in excess of 5 million nigerians worth above 130 million naira indeed.
I personally think there are more than 5 million Nigerians worth $1 million dollars (N 130 million naira).

A lot of business people in Nigeria are millionaires that are never mentioned on the pages of newspapers.
PoliticsRe: Governor Jails Critic For "embarrassing " Him by maxell(f): 7:49pm On Feb 05, 2009
But what about the police that arrested the man ? did the man commit an offense to warrant being arrested ?

The most they should give the man is a citation for disturbing the peace (if we were in a true democracy).

Useless country

Some prominent lawyer should take up his case and fight for him
