The 3rd term agenda is a stain in Obj's record, but despite that he is still the best to ever lead Nigeria. Check his records as Military Head of state. The price of crude was perpetually below $30/bbl during the first 4 or 5 years of his time as civilian President, yet he paid off Nigeria's debt. Most of the good policies we have today; pension reform, EFCC, ICPC, Banking reform....are all products of Obj's government.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Nigeria was debt free when he left. There was also
over $40 billion in foreign reserves.


Do you remember when Nuhu Ribadu was EFCC chairman during OBJ’s time? Even the
US was commending Nigeria.

Donald Duke was making great strides with Tinapa. Everything changed
once OBJ left office.


If succeeding governments had kept up (like in Lagos after BAT), Nigeria would’ve been better off today.

I lived in Lagos when Ota was a complete backwater. Even Ijabu Ode and Abeokwuta were glorified villages. I can give Ibadan a pass but entire Osun was a red soil.
