People from other parts of Nigeria that are/were corrupt are thanking their stars for not being from the south west. But Yar'adua
will not rule Nigeria forever.

Obj's govt was the one that (finally) connected Bayelsa state to the national grid. About $76 million dollars was spent

Pres. Yar'Adua drops 20 Ministers in Cabinet Shake-up

Twenty ministers lost their job on Wednesday, in an exercise which President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua says is an effort towards “repositioning and strengthening his administration”.

Among the twenty ministers dropped are those of Education, Dr. Igwe Aja Nwachukwu, Federal Capital Territory Alhaji Aliyu Modibbo Umar and Planning Minister, Mohammed Sanusi Daggash.

Others are Commerce and Industry Minister Charles Ugwu, Minister of State for Energy Fatima Ibrahim, Minister of State for Aviation, Mr. Felix Hyatt and Minister of Environment, House and Urban Development, Mrs. Halima Tayo Alao.

Also relieved of their appointments are; John James Akpanudoedehe, Tijani Yahaya Kaura, Ibrahim Dasuki Nakande, Haruna Hassan, Sarafa Tunji Isola, and Ahmed Mohammed Gusau, Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri,
Ahmed Garba Bichi, Jerry Anthony Agada, Emmanuel Olatunde Odusina.

Also relieved of their appointments are John Okechukwu Emeka,Saudatu Usman Bungudu,and Abdulrahman Hassan Gimba.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Segun Adeniyi, said at the end of the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council, that President Yar’Adua thanked the outgoing ministers for their services to the nation since the inception of the present administration.

He also wished them well in their future endeavours.

The President directed that until new ministers are confirmed by Senate and sworn into office, Mr. Remi Babalola (Minister of State, Finance) will serve as supervisory minister to the FCT, Abuja.

Mr. Demola Seriki (Minister of State, Agriculture and Water Resources) will serve as supervising minister for Mines and Steel Developments, while Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong (Minister of State, Culture and Tourism), will serve as supervising minister for the Federal Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The President also directed that Alhaji Alhassan Bako Zaku (Minister of State, Science & Technology) is to act as supervising minister for the National Sports Commission, while Elder Godsday Orubebe (Minister, Special Duties) will act as supervising minister/vice chairman, National Planning Commission.

Also Alhaji Alhasan Bako Zaki is to act as supervising minister for the National Sports Commission.

Mrs. Grace Ekpiwhre (Minister, Science & Technology) will oversee the Federal ministry of Women Affairs.
