[3] A woman who will bear unique child.
[4] Offspring of the woman.

This is the founding of the world of disobedient humans and the beginning of time. So it's until this matter is settled that time will become useless because during the fulfillment of this prophecy time is needed to know if God's way of rulership is the best or not.
That's what brought to birth the coming of Jesus who commissioned the preaching and teaching about God's Kingdom {Matthew 4:17} God's Kingdom means God's rulership!

This is what God later said through Ezekiel the prophet when the Jews got it wrong. Of course if someone chooses to be evil God will punish such a person but the evildoer will receive triple fold if his or her ancestor is also an evildoer that's what God is saying but the Jews thought they can do whatever they like after all it's their unborn generation that's coming to suffer the consequences of their evil deeds.

An example is what happened when the Roman governor Pontius Pilate said:

“I am innocent of the blood of this man. You yourselves must see to it.” Matthew 27:24

He said this when they insisted Jesus must be killed.

At that all the people said in answer:

“Let his blood come upon us and upon our children.” Matthew 27:25

So they assumed they would have died before anything will happen as a result of their malicious actions towards Jesus but then they feel their unborn children will face the consequences!😟

The Jews misconstrued what God said in that inspired writing thinking God will bring the punishment of their sins upon their children but that's not what God is saying.

If a man is evil he will surely get the reward for his evil deeds that doesn't affect his child who chooses to be good but if any of his children, grandchildren or great grandchildren chooses to follow his footstep then such a child will receive multiple punishment than that of his ancestor.

WHY?

Those that will live forever on earth:
