Let's take things one at a time. Do you believe in God? If so what do you expect God to do with the way things are getting out of hand in the world today?🙂 CaseSensitive: I said I SEE your point, that means I acknowledge it. It doesn’t mean I GET your point, and I certainly never said I do. It’s hard to "get" the point of people like you. You know why? Because you’re not any different from every other religious nutcase out there. You all churn out the same tone-deaf rhetoric, sanctimonious and garnished with Bible verses but lacking a shred of logic.
There’s nothing you want to tell me that I haven’t heard before. The guy from Redeemed Christian Church of God says their Jesus is the best. The one from Winners Chapel says their Jesus tastes better. Now here you are, Jehovah’s Witness, insisting your Jesus “stands out differently.” Jesus is a marketplace brand at this point and I’m not buying, even if it’s on a 2 for 1 discount.
Have I heard of Jehovah’s Witnesses? God, yes and I probably might puke the next time one of your evangelists asks if I’ve “got a minute to spare.” If I kept all the pamphlets they've given me, it just might be enough for me to start a lucrative paper recycling business. Each one selling the same utopian fantasy of heaven on earth. Meanwhile, the world’s on fire and religion’s got both hands in the fuel tank.
You said they found you. What were you, lost? Besides, I never asked how you became a Christian. Whether you were born into it or “found,” that’s your own spaghetti with chocolate sauce, and it's certainly between you and your own spiritual GPS. It still doesn’t change the fact that most Nigerian Christians were born into religion, not reasoned into it.
And I love how you completely sidestepped every point I made. I expected at least a whiff of reasoning, maybe something about the rot and division foreign religions have caused but, as usual, it’s just another sales pitch. No substance, just vibes and recycled Bible verses. Why think when the Bible can do it for you, right?
And that verse you quoted - “Never do people gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles”, are you actually asking me? Have you even seen grapes? Has the average Nigerian? That’s exactly my point: this foreign religion you swallowed doesn’t even speak to your own culture or environment. Grapes grow where those stories happened - the Middle East. Nigeria. Yet you build your whole life worshipping metaphors from a land you’ll never visit, about fruits you’ll never taste, written in a language that was never yours. But sure, quote away.
No, I’m not joining your Jehovah’s Witness organization. The world is not the utopia you people keep advertising. The same religion that claims to save humanity has been the most efficient tool for dividing and controlling it and the same people who weaponized religion are the ones who are ruining the world but sure, keep dreaming about “heaven on earth.” Whatever helps you sleep through the chaos.
Oh, and I read that your president’s son is distributing one million Bibles for his 40th birthday. Because of course, religion is the leash, and you all wear it like gold jewellry. But religion has nothing to do with politics, right? They're not creating 1000 jobs or micro loans but 1 million bibles. If each of those bibles cost $1, that's 1 million dollar that could've empower some youths, or supported entrepreneurs. Who's leading the distribution? The Christian Association of Nigeria. But sure, go collect yours. Doesn’t matter if you already own one, at the end of the day, what’s better than one Bible? Two! Gift it to another “lost soul.” You’ll all be fine in the end. |

I have never doubted that other angels are called Sons of God, what I asked is why is that other Angels do not have the Form of God, bear his name, forgive sin like him, recieve worship e.t.c simple question and you are running round the bush, E choke you I know. Is he following the teachings of Christ if he only gathers churchgoers from other churches? Jesus sent his disciples to go preaching from house to house and he took the lead in doing so. Are humans not also called God's son? So let's go back to what i quoted earlier for you in the Bible: Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone— while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy? OK so now you agree that angels are also God's Sons right? If you agree then we can now address Paul's letter to the first century Hebrew speaking congregation! blueAgent: If I have 5sons. And I tell you, That one is my biological son. And the other 4 are my adopted sons, are they not all my Sons? Do the other sons of God have the Image, name ,form,or the fullness of the Deity of God in them? 8. Colossians 2:9 In [Christ] all the fullness of deity dwells bodily. 7. Colossians 1:15 [Jesus] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created… 6. Philippians 2:5-7 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 3. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John begins his Gospel by talking about “the Word” and saying essentially three things about “the Word”: He existed “in the beginning,” which is a reference to creation (Genesis 1:1). “The Word” was with God. “The Word” was God. |

Jehovah's Witnesses are living proof that Jesus is the Son of God today. Please present a living proof that anyone else is a son of God whose life and activities has impacted millions of lives globally? Act 1:8 sonmvayina: like i said earlier, there are many sons of God around the time of the Jesus story. in fact for you to be somebody your father has to be a god and your mother a virgin. i can give you 10 sons of God if you want me to..... Justin martyr an early church father had this to say concerning Jesus : “And when we say also that the Word, who is the first-birth of God, was produced without sexual union, and that He, Jesus Christ, our Teacher, was crucified and died, and rose again, and ascended into heaven, we propound nothing different from what you believe regarding those whom you esteem sons of Jupiter(God). .......nothing different. Mercury, Aesculapius, Dioscuri; and Perseus, etc. The idea was already there but the Jewish messiah is a man from the line of David through Solomon his son. Jesus does not qualify at all.

God's only begotten Son! John 3:16 “And after the 62 weeks, Mes·siʹah will be cut off, with nothing for himself. “ And the people of a leader who is coming will destroy the city and the holy place. And its end will be by the flood. And until the end there will be war; what is decided upon is desolations" Daniel 9:26After challenging Jesus the Jewish religious leaders conspired to have him killed {John 11:57} and they succeeded in killing him {Matthew 26:40-43} these fulfilled the highlighted in red. Three decades later the Roman army came and destroyed Jerusalem along with its temple (the holy place) this is the fulfillment of the highlighted in blue. Afterwards the land was flooded with many bandits fighting over the possession of Jerusalem and war never cease till today in the city where Christ Jesus the Messiah was killed. That's the fulfillment of the highlighted in green. So it's confirmed just as the Roman soldier who supervised the killing of Jesus said: “Certainly this (Jesus) was God’s Son.” Matthew 27:54 |

AntiChristian: None! If one could be dubious then all could be the same! Spite, anger and frustration often makes some people to choose a religion they wouldn't have accepted at all so thinking you can convince a right thinking person to accept Islam through criticism is a lie. Different people decided to interpret the Bible when the ban not to touch or read it was lifted in the 1800s that's how we have a variety of interpretations not that God's word is not trustworthy. At least one version has produced the FRUIT expected of pure worship just as Isaiah and Micah prophesied: In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s Temple will be the highest of all mountains. It will be raised higher than the hills. There will be a steady stream of people from all nations going there. People from many places will go there and say, “Come, let’s go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the Temple of the God of Jacob. Then God will teach us his way of living, and we will follow him.” His teaching, the Lord’s message, will begin in Jerusalem on Mount Zion and will go out to all the world. Then God will act as judge to end arguments between nations. He will decide what is right for people from many lands. They will stop using their weapons for war. They will hammer their swords into plows and use their spears to make tools for harvesting. All fighting between nations will end. They will never again train for war. Isaiah 2:2-4; Micah 4:1-3The seed of faith Jesus planted is expected to yield the above FRUIT and today JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES are fulfilling it globally. Act 1:8 So any other religion may be making noise up and down if they fail to achieve this their religion has no connection with heaven from where this prophecy came! Revelations 11:12 |

MaxInDHouse: You don't get my point!
I wasn't born a Christian but they found me. Have you heard of Jehovah's Witnesses? Well that is the one and only Christian group that meets up with all the things Jesus taught not individually because he wasn't talking about each individual meeting up with what is perfect but as a group. So any other group claiming Christians are fake if we have to go by what Jesus of Nazareth said:
"By their fruits you will recognize them. Never do people gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles, do they? Likewise, every good tree produces fine fruit, but every rotten tree produces worthless fruit. A good tree cannot bear worthless fruit, nor can a rotten tree produce fine fruit" Matthew 7:16-18
God's purpose was to gather all faithful people throughout the earth and form a global family of peace loving worshipers {Isaiah 2:4; Micah 4:3} once that has been achieved what sincere and honest hearted individuals need to do is join the organization that's meeting up with this goal. Of course JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES stands out differently and the whole world knows this! BafanaBafana: Quite true. Christianity Etc › Re: What Is The Baptism Of Fire? by MaxInDHouse(m): 4:02am On Oct 17, 2025 |
It's an idiomatic expression!
FIRE consumes anything close to it so the inspired expression means Jesus will baptize his disciples with the spirit of ZEAL. After their normal water baptism they were waiting patiently for what Jesus promised them because they were scared to go out and preach publicly as their master was arrested and executed right in their own eyes while they are helpless. So they need a burning spirit to spark their zeal in order to preach and teach in the face of adversities and persecution! Act 1:8 So by the time this promise was fulfilled the spirit of God came down upon each baptized Christian who were patiently waiting for what Jesus promised them {Act 2:1-3} and instantly they were given the boldness to go out and declare the message Jesus sent them! Act 2:4
From that very day onward no threats from the Jews could stop Jesus' disciples {Act 4:18-22} each time the Jews threaten Jesus' friends they will pray to the true God {Act 4:23-30} and God kept supplying the power needed to make them strong as they continue preaching and teaching without fear! Act 4:31
May you have peace! |

The truth is Jesus' disciples aren't famous people so nobody knows them except members of their group.
Today you know celebrities claiming they are pastors and when you visit art galleries you will notice their portraits but how many Jehovah's Witnesses do you think became popular due to their religion today?
Does that mean they don't have books written and globally used by their members?
So imagine someone comes up in about three centuries later with the idea that books published by the JWs were written by unknown authors who do you think will stand up and say "i know so and so who wrote the book" ?
Well that's what happened. Jesus' friends aren't celebrities like those you know today they are only known by members of their group just as their leader wasn't known facially by most of his contemporaries!🙂 |

CaseSensitive: I see your point but historically, Christianity has always coexisted with politics, power, and human imperfection, whether early believers were oppressed or bishops wielded authority. Claiming a single global group today perfectly embodies Jesus’ teachings might make for a neat story, but history and human nature suggest it’s more complicated than any one sect can capture. Even the first disciples disagreed on interpretation and practice. Historically, faith and politics have often mixed (even when Christians were persecuted), and different contexts produced very different practices. That’s part of the reasons why there are different Christian denominations and churches.
Even early believers disagreed on theology, rituals, and interpretation of Jesus’ teachings. Different regions, languages, and cultures shaped how Christians practiced their faith, take for example, Greek speaking communities interpreted scripture differently from Latin speaking ones. Then over centuries, debates about issues like the nature of Christ (Arianism vs. Nicene Creed), baptism, or Eucharist led to further splits. Then there’s political and cultural pressures such as when Roman emperors, European monarchs, or colonial administrations also influenced which forms of Christianity dominated in particular areas. When Europeans brought Christianity to Africa, they also introduced denominations linked to their home countries: Anglican, Catholic, Methodist, Presbyterian, etc.
Later, independent African churches emerged, mixing Christianity with local beliefs and practices (insert your Celestial Church of Christ, Cherubim & Seraphim etc), further increasing diversity. Today in Nigeria, there’s a “Mountain of Jesus Miracles” and “Fire of Heaven Ministries” in every corner or half of mile radius to another. I’m not making this things up, they are facts and our current realities. So weeds and seeds have always been mixed, and that’s not the kind of religion I want to be associated with and I give no special merit or consideration to the “global sect practicing what Jesus taught”, that’s their conviction and perogative.
But I’ll still stand on the point that Christianity in Nigeria is fundamentally a foreign religion. Many of us were born into it; we didn’t choose it. Africa seems to be the only continent where borrowed religions dominate entire societies. Contrast that with China despite political divisions, their culture has remained largely intact because they weren’t colonized by foreign religions and that has held them together. We see result of that today. Part of the challenge we face is this very history of imported belief shaping identities and society.
Now this is not even about me and Christianity, I’m now talking societal cohesion, that’s what I care about more. Because religion has caused division more than unity in human history. I mean you probably have witnessed the archetypes of societal degeneration here on this forum, where keyboard warriors launch attack on each other over religion, religions that weren’t fundamentally theirs in the first place. You see "Christians" on here supporting genocide orchestrated by Israel in Gaza, because they are "Christians" and they believe the Palestinians deserve death because they are "Muslims" and by extension are "terrorists". Where is the humanity? You hear almost daily stories of “church pastors” do the unthinkable and “GOs” on one hand preach armageddon on humanity while on the other hand preach prosperity while church pastor’s wallet gets fatter. To me, these illustrate the human complications of faith intertwined with society. "My sect practice christianity differently" just doesn't cut it for me. Of course without any disrespect to you or your faith. You don't get my point! I wasn't born a Christian but they found me. Have you heard of Jehovah's Witnesses? Well that is the one and only Christian group that meets up with all the things Jesus taught not individually because he wasn't talking about each individual meeting up with what is perfect but as a group. |

CaseSensitive: Sure, if by ‘true Christians’ you mean the ideal in theory. But historically, Christianity has always been linked with political power, from Constantine’s empire, the Crusades to European colonisation of Africa. Claiming ‘true Christianity’ magically removes politics is like saying a car drives itself better when nobody touches the wheel. Faith exists in practice, not just in theory. You can't separate the two bro but of course I'm always willing to learn, I want to be "shocked!" You surprised me than i expected in fact i myself i'm shocked already to see how much you know about theory and practical. Surely you are more prepared for this than i expected anyone to be but still let's get to the root of the matter!🙂 After Jesus commissioned Christianity he told his disciples a parable regarding what will happen when he's gone. Matthew 13:24-30 In that parable he made it clear that true Christianity will be suspended for some time just as weeds when left unattended to will overshadow the fine seeds so that when an observer looks from a distance all he could see is WEEDS. In view of this prophecy Jesus asked a serious question: "when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:8 NIVThis means after Jesus and his disciples are gone true Christianity will vanish on planet earth! Revelations 11:7-10 But then is that be the end of the group? Jesus said true Christianity will bounce back like two prophets who resurrected from the dead but when they regain life nobody can kill them again! Revelations 11:11-12 So you are 100% correct that theory and practice differ but today true Christianity is back on its feet but with a totally different group name! Isaiah 65:15 Today just as the world hated Jesus and his disciples in the first century they are hostile to the true Christians and calling them different names even though they can't say exactly what Jesus' disciples did wrong other than their unique faith. Just as Jesus prayed for his disciples to have the same line of thought {John 17:22} true Christians have the same line of thought to the extent that people can easily say this person is one of them once he doesn't join in pagan traditions! 1Corinthans 1:10 They have love among themselves and the world can testify to it! John 13:34-35 They don't participate in politics {John 17:14} or military service {Matthew 26:52} so there is no way any politician can poison their mind against anyone! They don't follow worldly trends, they eat, drink, party and socielite with others but when it comes to matters of faith they will say "bye for now". John 17:15-17 So yes there is a global group practicing what Jesus taught exactly but the world called them a cult just as Jesus foretold! Matthew 10:24-25 |

CaseSensitive: Absolutely, but the core tenets of the two main Abrahamic religions (Christianity and Islam) were fundamentally intertwined with politics from the outset, often weaving religious authority with political power. Both religions are now tools in the hand of politicians (Nigeria is a case study). And yes, Ghandi is right in his expression. Many Nigerians today was born into Christianity (like myself), it wasn't a religion I chose. From when I was a little boy, I just knew I went to Church, read the bible, pray to Jesus etc until I actually opened my eyes and my mind and realised I actually don't need Jesus to mediate with God on my behalf because I am a precious piece of that God.
No matter who brought Christianity to Nigeria, it still doesn't change the fact that Christianity is a foreign religion and it erodes who we are at our source. I would assume that's one of the main reason it was brought in the first place (mental colonisation) I have no issues with people who practice it with common sense without losing sense of self, I have no issue with people who practice any other religion - in fact, I draw lessons from Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Ifa etc. I believe in truth, self-discipline, ethical living. I live in a way that is consistent with moral and spiritual truths rather than dogmatic rituals. That way, my mind is open, I can see life in different perspective and interact with it accordingly. I get to be who I am as an African, a yoruba man who is one with nature and deeply respect the balance of it, rather than been defined by a foreign religion or confined to one. The highlighted is a misconception! True Christianity has nothing to do with politics in fact if you know real Christians you will be really shocked! |

CaseSensitive: I didn't say the British invented Christianity or brought it to Africa first, but they sure franchised it well for the Nigeria market. Did your fore fathers practice Christianity before the British arrived? Most probably not. My own ancestors are traditionalists and few became Muslims but one thing is sure which is British brought politics not Christianity. If you read what Mohandas Gandhi said about the British you will understand he told them: "You people are unlike your Christ"Which means they are not Christians but they are just disguising. 2Timothy 3:5

blueAgent: As usual, you guys are masters at cherry picking bible verses to support your lies while ignoring other verses.
Psalm 2:7 “I will declare the decree: The LORD has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.
Where the other Angels begotten? You too can mango pick verses after all i quoted the Bible for you so answer the question: Who are other MORNING STARS since they are all SONS OF GOD?🙂 |

blueAgent: Abeg interpret this Bible verse for me. Hebrews 1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? If you want to learn come out openly not stylishly asking for what you don't know. When the morning stars joyfully cried out together, And all the sons of God began shouting in applause? Job 38:7Who are the morning stars or God's Sons this verse is talking about? I, Jesus, sent my angel to bear witness to you about these things for the congregations. I am the root and the offspring of David and the bright morning star.’” Revelations 22:16Do you think Jesus is the one talking here? If so who are the morning stars or God's Sons shouting in applause at Job 38:7? I won't teach you because you don't deserve it! Matthew 7:6 |

CaseSensitive: When this one is arrested now for constituting public nuisance especially if her COS is on shaky grounds, they will say na village people. The British brought you Christianity not because they want to "save your soul" but to steal from you. Now you're bringing the same recycled mind-numbing religion back to them to "save soul". You will learn. If you say British brought Bible to Africa that's correct but Christianity, i'm sorry the British don't know anything about Jesus or what he commissioned!🙂 |

press9jatv: Nigeria politicians you mentioned here do door to door campaign now. Everyone knows that. The lady in question did evangelism in the bus, her crime is she video herself in the bus. Do you know series of evangelists that evangelised in the bus in Nigeria per day niiiii. Maybe because you don't see their videos on the media space. Everything is about the sacrifice here. The lady in question video herself cos' of the tech age in this era. Do you know what it means to believe in Jesus? Well it's not just by saying whatsoever people say in his name but the doing of God's will {Matthew 7:21-23} God's will for all humans is to accept whatever Jesus laid down as the only way {John 14:6} to please God {John 3:16} so it's not doing things anyhow you want and claiming it's for Jesus that's why God said about Jesus: "Listen to him" Matthew 17:5So when talking about how to do God's work we may disagree to agree but once Jesus' name is mentioned we must all obey no idea comes as option again! Philippians 2:10 People in the world may choose to do things differently but i'm telling you exactly what Jesus established as the preaching work so if you accept him as your master lord and king i don't think you should be arguing in favor of what the world is doing now is the time to correct yourself with what you have seen as authority from Jesus. The Bible is inspired of God and beneficial for getting things done in right way! 2Timothy 3:16 |

press9jatv: chaii money is the money is the motivator why she's doing that. But some people are doing that without videoing themselves. Some don't even love to videoing themselves. What of that one too? Is it money niiii? We are in the digital world. Obviously you didn't read my response you only picked the first sentence so i'll oblige once again. What Jesus commissioned as work for his disciples is not normal in the world {Matthew 10:16} so it's never going to yield positive result (FRUIT) if we fail to follow his footstep closely. 1Peter 2:21 The preaching work must be as a group and those going must go in pairs {Luke 10:1} so that they speak to interested audience at a time who will surely have one or two questions for them to answer. That's what leads to TEACHING! Matthew 28:20 So whoever is not following this pattern can't produce the FRUIT expected of the faith in Christ Jesus! Matthew 7:16-18 There are billions of people claiming they are Christians in the world today but how many are going to visit their neighbors as Jesus commanded? Matthew 10:11-13 Now imagine if all those politicians who are claiming Christians have to move from house to house and door to door in their neighborhood not with security operatives but just a partner as Christ Jesus commissioned the work do you think any politician today will claim he or she is a disciple of Christ Jesus? Of course they won't dare claim being Christians because they have to trash all their prominence to follow Jesus! Luke 18:18-23 |

press9jatv: Haaa I hope she reads your response here. She worship in Christ Embassy church. What of If she's been moved by the holy spirit She's a content creator so money is the motivating factor not holy spirit!🙂 The holy spirit empower disciples to do what Jesus taught them {Act 1:8} and reminds them how to go about it {John 14:25-26} so that there will be peace among them! John 14:27 After humans became sinners humility is rare among us so it's difficult for us to stick to arrangements made for orderliness to reign among us as we must become submissive to our fellow man whom God is using to direct His work among us that's where holy spirit comes in because humility is vital to our salvation! Matthew 5:5 compare to Zephaniah 2:2-3 So when Jesus said holy spirit will help us he is talking about all the qualities that is needed among true believers to work as a global team which are: LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, GOODNESS, KINDNESS, FAITH, MILDNESS and SELF-CONTROL! Galatians 5:22-23 If you look critically at an imperfect man there is no way he could exhibit all these qualities but when imperfect humans form an organization and God's holy spirit is working in their midst you will see all these qualities in the way they are doing things because it's not them that's doing it but God's holy spirit among them. So when people see any of them misbehave they will call them "HYPOCRITES" because they can't figure out how these people worked perfectly as a team but fails as individuals to do what they were doing when they worked together! Romans 7:15-25🙂 |
