Eldeedon: Exactly!! This same person will come here to say they never stop any of their members from taking blood😁 and that it was based on individual Bible consciousness 😒
IchKampf: A simple google search reveals that there have been earlier theocractic kingdoms/empires ("merge politics and religion together" long before Babylon. These theocratic political entites are even recorded in the Bible. For instance, most kings/emperors documented in the Book of Samuel and Books of Kings (wheather Isreali or non-Isreali) were theocratic.
Sorry only Israel was theocratic because God set the standards not human kings!🙂
justloo: God did and you may want find out why God forbade blood even though he created it and humans can eat it. You need to understand intent first.
Then consider the different Bible portions that talks about abstinence from blood and why the elders and apostle in Jerusalem specifically mentioned to abstain from
Was this found in a brochure? For your information all JWs carry this everywhere we go as our identity card in case of immergency so once any medical personnel see this in someone who is a critically condition they know such a person is one of Jehovah's Witnesses who will never opt for blood transfusion no matter what happens!🙂
TONYE001: Totally, but this is not the issue. A direct question, please: before now, was your organization accepting autologous blood transfusion? Yes or No.
Who told you the organization accept or reject something for anyone? Ọmọ it's divine guidance so it's either you adhere or ignore no one is forcing you to live by God's standards! 🙂
“ ‘I will set my face against any Israelite or any foreigner residing among them who eats blood, and I will cut them off from the people. For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life. Leviticus 17:10-11 NIV
This means each creature has its own blood cells but carnivorous animals can eat other animals and lick their blood such is dangerous for humans. Why? Because the body system of these creatures doesn't fight external sources of blood but when it comes to humans it's a totally different case. When you mix the blood of Peter with that of Paul with the aim of saving the life of one of them this may sound good at the moment but then the cells will start working differently they will never mix up as one just as it does in the body of someone who has never been transfused before. In fact the countless diseases mankind is treating today 80% comes from the mixing of blood cells either through SEX, ANIMALS STRANGLED AND BLOOD TRANSFUSION! So when the holy spirit instructed the Apostles of Christ and the Elders in Jerusalem to abstain from all these things they concluded saying it has to do with our health not some delusional religious ideas! Act 15:28-29😟
janeedema: 📖 Where does “abstain from blood” come from?
The clearest place is:
📖 Acts 15:28–29 (NIV)
“It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality…” This instruction was given by the early church leaders, including Peter the Apostle and James the Just.
What did “blood” mean in their time? To understand this, we must go back to earlier Scripture: Leviticus 17:10–11 (NIV) “I will set my face against any Israelite… who eats blood. For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement…”
📖 Genesis 9:4 (NIV) “But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.”
🌍 Historical Context (Very Important) In Bible times: • People drank or ate blood as part of pagan rituals • Animals were sometimes killed without draining blood (strangled meat) • Blood was seen as sacred because it represented life So the command to “abstain from blood” meant:
Do not consume blood as food or in ritual practices
So… is it talking about blood transfusion?
No—not directly.
Why? • Blood transfusion as a medical practice did not exist in Bible times • The discussion in Acts 15 is about: • Food • Idolatry • Cultural practices between Jews and Gentiles
It’s not addressing medical procedures.
Why the instruction was given
The early church was trying to solve a major issue: • Jewish believers had strict laws about blood • Gentile believers did not
So this instruction helped: • Maintain unity • Avoid offending Jewish Christians • Keep believers away from pagan practices
How do Christians understand it today?
There are different views:
1. Most Christians believe: • The command refers to eating blood, not medical use • A blood transfusion is about saving life, not consuming blood
This aligns with the principle that: 📖 Mark 2:27 (NIV)
“The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.”
Meaning: God’s laws are not meant to destroy life, but to preserve it.
2. Some groups (like Jehovah’s Witnesses) believe: • Any use of blood, including transfusion, should be avoided
They take a stricter interpretation.
A deeper principle to hold
The Bible consistently teaches: • Blood represents life • Life is sacred • God values the preservation of life
So the question becomes:
👉 Is the action dishonoring life—or preserving it?
💡 Final clarity • “Abstain from blood” in Scripture = do not eat or misuse blood in a ritual sense • It was not originally about medical transfusions • The modern application depends on how one interprets biblical principles
Janosky: Did you view the update #2 Jw broadcast TV video? No. Even if you watch the jw video, you don't want anything to debunk the opinion you prefer to stick to.
As long as anyone comes here to correct him he's poised to attack such a person because he doesn't want anything to debunk his personal opinion about JWs!😀
Faithless people claiming they believe in God! Abeg tell them o!😀
promami: This is what it has always been. JWs don't prohibit anyone from transfusing their blood. It's a personal choice and decision. This is just a reiteration.
Skodiswayze: The word of God is parables, abstain from blood doesn’t mean you can’t take meaningful transfusions, it means abstain from anything that is blood sucking, like ritual, persecution, and miming. God spoke about blood consumption not blood transfusions in Medical needs.
There is no MEANINGFUL TRANSFUSION as long as it involves someone else blood!🙂
omoharry: See this one! I am your brain has now reset to abide by your new religious policy of own blood transfusion. Many have died for free and you are still roaming around with your JW bag and big bible deceiving yourself
Sorry for your troubles my blood differ from yours!🙂
Lovelink1991: Go front page It has been posted from JW website not YouTube. You claim to be witness but you don't know what is happening in it. Go and update yourself or convert to pentecostal
I told you that poster is not a JW this is the instruction given to all members of JWs:
kinsnazzy: First and foremost I don't understand why instructions are not obeyed do not share property of Jehovah witness on social media?
Guy there is no single brochure having such a thing in it that person lied to gain your attention!😀
Ken4Christ: Why do you prefer to walk in darkness when you have the opportunity to embrace light? Jesus is light.
And who says Jesus is not the light of the world? John 3:19 The truth you are running away from is Jesus never established the Christian faith with money which you are eyeing as if Jesus brought you business ideas!😀
advanceDNA: .. every scripture has context which u decided to cut out out of my comment .. the instruction isnt just to stay away from blood …it clearly spoke on the context of eating the flesh of an animal and discarding the blood……... But its alright if lying will make you sleep well at night….. enjoy
What my Bible said is: "abstain from blood" Act 15:29🙂
Greb: Jehovah witness are making a grave mistake of implementing that law, more will die needless deaths because they're not allowed to accept other people's blood for transfusion
What you people need is enlightenment health personels are now grateful to JWs because we have helped them in seeking alternative solution because blood transfusion has a lot of hazards!🙂
Kalulu44: First of all I don't even have any belief or religion I adhere to. But for one religion or belief to tell his or her followers not to do what we save their lives is absolutely absurd, take it or leave it
