I just bought this car from Lagos. We serviced it with visco 2000 then journeyed to Abuja, to our surprise, the oil got dried up when we checked the next morning. Topped it with another gallon, it got reduced bellow half after going to Kaduna and back. I was advised to change to Mobil of which I did with the type they sale #3000, again it dried up as I went to Zaria and came back. I was also told to use Mobil 1, which I used (5w30), to my surprise I again went to Kaduna and came, checked d oil this morning, I noticed d oil is below half mark on the dip stick. I called some mechanics, so said I have to buy a new engine, some said I have to ring the engine. This car is direct tokumbo with 153,000 millage. The sound and everything about the car is superb including fuel economy. Can some one help me with advice? I travelled a lot for my consultancy work and my PG program and enjoying this car but for the oil consumption. Note, no smoke is emitting and the car including engine look new.

Hello house, am about to pay for a car tomorrow, a registered Mazda mpv sport owned by an area brother who resides abroad. The car was registered in 2012 and was used for a short period. he has since left the country and left the car unused, hence no renewal of licence up till date. I have never bought a Nigerian used car before and I don't know if am going to pass through any huddle to update the papers in my name. Somebody said that it's better I get a change of ownership once and for all and it's gonna solve the problem, how true is this? The other clarifications I need include: how reliable are these mpv sports? Am buying it because of bad roads and lil flood along my house, my Corolla sport need to rest for the rest of this raining season, (2) how much do I get tinted glass permit? Somebody suggested 15k, (3) am paying 570k for it(1999 model I think), too expensive? I await and I'll appreciate your advice, thanks

Am a jjc when it comes to cars so please bear with my description of my problem.
I drive an Honda accord bullet and noticed today dat wen i was in standstill d gear refused to enter third. All odaa ones were working and shiftin but the third gear refused to shift while on standstill. Please is this normal or is dere a prob cos wen d car is off it shifts into third but wen on it wont shift

The vehicle I noticed shorts oil reently and the engine is not smoking,even water comes out from the silencer and I a funny sound when the throttle is accelerated . Pls advice before this mechanic people damage the vehicle for me

I have come again sirs,replaced fuel pump on thursday and mum took it out yestide without any problem. Travelled wit the car today and 50miles after, the check light came on and when I got to my destination,found the same code 25-lean air/fuel mixture which I cleared. Would it be right to think of changin fuel filter or assume the pump is at fault again, drove anoda 20miles but no prev symptoms yet and code hasn't come back

My Honda baby boy, when i turn of the ignition, the engine fan turns on but when i turn on the AC, the AC fan does not come on. Ordinarilly i when i turn on the AC the both fans comes on. should i be worried?

I can't say for sure. There is one other device that looks like a brain box on the center console under the dash but almost far from reach without removing the dash. I'll do a Google search on this body system module you just mentioned in relation to the car.

My experts in the house I have an issue with my car.
Recently my car started making a rattling noise during cold starts.
After some googling I noticed it's a known issue with 09/10 corolla models, which Toyota has addressed.
Abeg, any mech in Abuja who can fix the issue kindly leave your address here.

Please Gazzuz,ikenna,lomoike,please i started the car this morning, my phone battery was down, i charged the phone with a car charger but the engine wasnt on,i came out after an a hour to drive out,the car wouldn't start,the car revolves but wouldn't start.I need advise b4 i do anything, a neighbour has a battery cable jumper, please do i stand battery on the car,or do i remove the battery entirely use another battery to start the car while its steaming i will put back my battery. Please i need an urgent advise b4 bringing an electrician who might damage the car

I bought a 2002 Mazda Millenia off a member here on Nairaland for my wife and I must say it has been amazing. The car is wonderful and loaded with features for its manufacturing date. I am guessing Millie as its enthusiasts call it is Mazda's luxury range.

Now to the problem. Last week Friday wifey was on her way to work and the car died on the highway. All efforts to restart it failed. When wifey called and told me what happened, I did some remote troubleshooting with her help to eliminate some possible causes I am aware could stall a car in motion. When I was sure it wasnt Timing Belt, it wasnt dried out Radiator Coolant, I requested the car be towed back home so roadside mechanics wont fiddle with it.

On getting home myself in the evening on that day, I went to check the car and noticed that the battery has lost all form of power. I mean completely drained of any form of energy. The following morning, I called a battery charger to bring me another battery. When the battery was connected, you guys wont believe what happened . The car headlights came on but the switch was in off position. I fliped the switch back and forth but the light didnt go off. I tried starting the car, it was rolling but wont start. I however noticed that the dash light was coming on and going off at will, the speedometer and tacometer dials were jumping and returning at will, the AC will come on and wont turn off even when I press the off button, the radio has no power. In all this, the engine will crank but the car wont start.

Next I reached for my (Lemur Blue Driver) Bluetooth ODBII scanner to do a diagnosis on the car hoping I will get a result. When I plugged in the scanner and turned the key to on position, the scanner's signature blue light didnt come on and I was worried. Then I cranked the car and to my amazement, the car started. I raised the engine and it raised well, put the gear in D and it went forward, put it in reverse and it followed but still the scanner light didnt come on and my ipad didnt see it to connect to either. As the engine was running, I unplugged the scanner and the car was still idling well but when I tried to raise it, the engine stalled again and all the dash dial started the "Kukere" dance once again and the AC too came on and wont go off if I press the off button.

I repeated the steps severally and got the same result. Car will start with ODBII scanner connected but radio has no power. Car will raise properly and even move. Car will not start with ODBII scanner removed. All dash dial will be flipping back and forth with ignition in on position, dash light going on and off, AC coming on and wont go off with off button pressed.

Abeg my seasoned auto engineers, gurus and fellow enthusiasts. Wetin I go call this kind psickness? What is the car suffering from?

Meanwhile, I live in Lagos and we do have lots of water along the way from my house to hit the main road whenever it rains.

My Honda 2002 has gear box problems, it takes forever to select gear levels. My mechanic says I must change it because fixing it wasn't possible. What should I do? And how much is gearbox for my car?

Mayor if its a 4WD nko? will the car still not move? (cause this thing travelled even without that particular shaft over 500km)

Coil pack did not supply any voltage to the sparkplug which is needed to ignite the cylinder 1 thus throwing up a P0301 code.

2003 Toyota Highlander 2.4 L4 bank one misfire.
Culprit was a bad coilpack.
Coil pack changed with a genuine denso replacement part.
Additional service was cleaning of PCV valve which was almost blocked.

i guess its the drive shaft...the one by the drivers wheel...would also like to ask whats tge consequence of using the vehicle without it?

Hello everyone my kia sorento 2004 has been giving problem for 3 months now, it started with not accelerating beyond 20km/hr I was adviced to change the injector coils and plugs which I did, still no difference then I fell into the hand of a quack mechanic that suggested that washing the injector nozzles will solve the issue but the car worsened the engine now smokes, cant climb steeped roads, totally useless, kindly offer suggestions or recommend a kia expert.
