Legalizing prostitution will destroy the only viable and sustainable instituion in Nigeria: Family.
How so? Married men and their children that are of age(or underaged) are already patronizing prostitues in VERY HIGH numbers. . . .So what exactly are you saying?
Politics › Re: Legalize Prostitution In Nigeria by mazaje(m): 10:30pm On Jan 26, 2010
^^

When I say here I mean my current location which is Finland. . . . .There are already alot of Nigerian women held captive and forced to work as love-peddlers. . . .Another slave industry that exists is the "house servant" slave industry, where wealthy people "buy" maids and servants on the slave market to work for them under harsh conditions for no pay or very little pay, These House servent are mostrly treated badly but their masters. Despite the fact that the fundamental situation is exactly the same as the sex slave trade (the buying/selling of slaves), no one is attempting to outlaw legitimate consenting houseworking or frawning upon it in Nigeria. The sole reason for this double standard is that one involves sex. That's irrational, and should be changed, Prostitution shoud be legalised and regulated for the benefit of the parties involved because people are already patronizng prostitues in VERY HIGH numbers and will NEVER stop. . . . . .

Your words are true, people patronize prostitues anyway (both married and single peeps) Its every where and will never stop even though Nigerians as always LOVE pretending and never facing their problems head on, Prostitution is regulated here in Europe only to protect the health of the parties involved. Lack of regulating it is what is responsible for the spread of HIV/AIDS. . . . .I fully support legalizing prostitution completely, make it require public inspection and a license, sort of like what you have for restaurants, bars and cab drivers like they do it here. This would be some basic requirements for hygiene, safe sex, and registered for random inspections. That is how they do it here and it works. . . .The people here have far greater sex than Nigerians and patronize prostitues more but have a very very very low rate of STDs, HIV/AIDS because prostitution has been legalized and is regulated by the authorities . . . . .

@Deepsight

When will you stop you speacial pleadings and question begging attitude? Does oneness of infinity exist? Point to it or else keep quite. . . .How can we get to know this oneness of infinity? What is it? What form does it have? Can it be seen, touched, felt, known, communicated with? If by chance oneness of infinity happens exist YOU will be the last person it will rely on to make any case for it. . . It will make it's case itself. . . .Its existence will be self evident and it will never rely on your NON arguments and special pleadings to show that it exist. . . . .Enough of all these maddness about a god ONLY you know its name and claim it exists. . . What the Zap is oneness of infinity that relies on mathematics to prove its existence huh huh huh huh

Sex is one of the best things humans have going for them. It's pleasurable and healthy, and people who are in the position to be able to help others have sex are some of the most effective and passionate healers in the world, and if we as a society were to treat them like doctors instead of criminals, this planet would be a lot better off. Stereotyping prostitutes based on some perceived notion of some underlying immorality or "dirtiness" is akin to stereotyping people who smoke pot as wicked criminals while simultaneously ignoring or indirectly supporting the right of others to drink themselves into oblivion with alcohol or smoke their (and their kids') lungs into tar blackness. Those are double standards that we rationalists should abhor.

If it is regulated to meet appropriate health standards then it doesn't cause harm to anyone involved, so it's not immoral. Actually, with regulation it would be safer than one night stands (You can't pull up the health records of someone you met that night at the bar) so in that way it would be more moral to pay someone who was government certified clean of STDs.

^^^ The same can be said for many natural phenomena. Take gravity for example. You cannot see Gravity itself. But if you throw an object into a space where there is gravity, you will see the effects of gravity. it thus follows that proving the existence of gravity depends of the existence of other things!
The difference is that god is not talked about as a natural phenomena. . . .Gravity is a phenomenon but god is said to have properties and also  to exists on its own independent of other things. . .When will people point to their gods and show that they exist independent of other things? If you read the bible, koran and other religious text you will see how those gods are described. . . They are NOT described the way modern day believers are describing them at all. . . .Is oneness of infinity a phenomenon or does it exist on its one? What is oneness of infinity? How does it exist? Can people know it and have an encounter with it? How can it be known? Does it exist independent of other things, if it does then how can it be objectively shown to exist on its own?

In fact i may even stretch the analogy and state that if there was absolutely no other thing in existence other than yourself, you will never be able to prove that you exist even to yourself.
I see my self, I can touch myself, hear my voice etc. . . .What is this meaningless analogy? My friend I guess you are trying to hard. . . .

So why are you at odds that proving the existence of God may require showing how other things function?

Capisce?
Does god exists? Why is it that NO god has been shown to exists on its own independent of other things? Does god exists? If he does then he should be pointed to. . . Pointing to the existence of other things is evidence for the existence of those things not some mythical god. . . .

^^^ Hi Chris. Long time. How bodi?

Please do bear in mind that the fact that God cannot be rationally explained in a language everybody would understand does not necessariliy invalidate God's existence.
All you keep on saying is that your god is everything but when examined closely your god always turns out to be NOTHING. . . .

Any more than the fact that scientific or natural phenomena cannot be understood by everyone will invalidate the existence of such phenomena?
But scientific explanation are rationally explained and understood by all no? Take the theory of gravity or cell theory both have a universal and rational explanation? The universal and rational explanation of oneness of infinity is WHAT?

This whole argument for god brouhaha. . . . .Why is it that god's existence is the only thing whose existence depends on the existence of other things? No body has ever shown that his/her god exist but people are constantly pointing to the existence of other things as evidence for the existence of their various gods? When will people point to their various gods and show that they exists and stop pointing to other things. . . .

Indeed! All the gods as we understand them are nothing more than the antropomorphism of the universe.People imagine gods and as their thoughts change to other topics or other things their gods change with them. It happens all the time and will continuie to happen all the time. The gods of old are never the same with the gods of present. This means just one thing and that is all religions are really just social constructs that keep evolving over time and nothing more IMO. . . . .
Islam › Islamic Paradise Discovered -- Used To Train Jihadist by mazaje(op): 6:06pm On Jan 25, 2010
http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=2009\12\12\story_12-12-2009_pg1_4

Security forces on Friday discovered jannat (heaven) in South Waziristan Agency, with which terrorists used to brainwash suicide bombers. According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), a team of journalists visited the jannat at Nawaz Kot area of the agency. The ‘heaven’ consisted of four rooms. Each room contains beautiful paintings of running canals of milk and honey surrounded by hoors (maidens of paradise). Conducting Officer Major Saleem said Taliban clerics showed the jannat to the would-be suicide bombers to convince them that once they blew themselves up they would enjoy a status equivalent to that of the companions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He said they were also told that they would live forever in the company of beautiful hoors. He said security forces had also seized hate literature, CDs, hashish and other drugs from the site. The official said two would-be suicide bombers and their trainers were also arrested from the place
They are copying the methods of the original assassin society in medieval ages.

This kind of training would only work on people who lead primitive lives, have hardly any contact with the outside world and lack any modern education.

Why would a god change personalities?
Because the people who constantly re-invent and manufacture god change all the time. According to the hypothesis there's this god guy who is alleged to be omnipotent, all powerful, all knowing all good, in fact all everything who according to the people that subscribe to this hypothesis we can't know anything about it because according to them he is everyuthing and nothing at the same time. They said he appeared to a VERY few people long long ago when they were living in complete ignorance and told them what he demands, ate their food, fought against their enemies with them, lived with them told them what he wanted from them and told them to tell others after which he completely disappeared when men became extensively knowlegeble about this planet the universe and how the forces of nature operate. . . .Very intrersing hypothesis I must say. . . . .

Christianity Etc › Re: The Evidence Of The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ by mazaje(m): 4:55pm On Jan 23, 2010
OLAADEGBU:
Lets consider the attempts of some skeptics who started off doubting the resurrection claim of the Scriptures and see where their objective examinations led them to. Starting with Dr. Greenleaf.

Dr. Greenleaf, the Royal Professor of Law at Harvard University, was one of the greatest legal minds that ever lived. He wrote the famous legal volume entitled, A Treatise on the Law of Evidence, considered by many the greatest legal volume ever written. Dr. Simon Greenleaf believed the Resurrection of Jesus Christ was a hoax. And he determined, once and for all, to expose the "myth" of the Resurrection. After thoroughly examining the evidence for the resurrection — Dr. Greenleaf came to the exact opposite conclusion! He wrote a book entitled, An Examination of the Testimony of the Four Evangelists by the Rules of Evidence Administered in the Courts of Justice. In which he emphatically stated:

"it was IMPOSSIBLE that the apostles could have persisted in affirming the truths they had narrated, had not JESUS CHRIST ACTUALLY RISEN FROM THE DEAD, . . ."
(Simon Greenleaf, An Examination of the Testimony of the Four Evangelists by the Rules of Evidence Administered in the Courts of Justice, p.29).

Greenleaf concluded that according to the jurisdiction of legal evidence the resurrection of Jesus Christ was the best supported event in all of history!

And not only that, Dr. Greenleaf was so convinced by the overwhelming evidence, he committed his life to Jesus Christ!

What changed his mind? What evidence did Dr. Greenleaf encounter that so drastically turned him around? What facts did he discover that he could not rationally ignore?

Mind you, people have tried to box God into one form or the other, trying to make Him into becoming more 'reasonable' and thus 'believable' or culturally acceptable. That's why there have been different icons, images and myths accross the millenia all trying to represent God in ways that man is capable of connecting with. Perhaps, in that, one can say that the different religions of man have created their own images of God in order to understand Him or appropriate Him better.
The day you point to the existence of any god independent of man made stories, cultural myths, societal influence and acceptance then some of us will beging to believe you know what you are talking about. . .

But God is not limited by man's conceptualisations of Him. He exists in spite of what man makes of Him.
Pls point to the existence of any god that is independent of man made myths, stories and influence. . . . .

Man, with our puny and falliable capacity to concieve of concepts that exist outside of our dimension, is not even able to wrap our heads around such extradimensional creations of God as 'timelessness' and 'nothingness', how much more will we be able to apprehend the entity that made these things. So it's not difficult to understand the dilemma of those who would rather not believe in Him. That is the path of least resistance.
More drivel. . . .You are just pushing your what ever concept of god into the relm of the unknown because you KNOW very well that the hypothesis is not self evident and can NOT stand on its own  what you are saying here is that your god is NOTHING. . . .Your evidence to show that there is something that exist outside of our dimension is what? Timelessness and nothingness means NOTHING. . .Even the god of the bible is not above or out side the concept of time as some of you are trying to have others believe. . . It is written in the bible that god is the beginning and the end. . . that alone shows that he can not be outside of time if he were to exists. . . .

It's God's prerogative to reveal Himself to man in ways that man can understand. He may choose to reveal Himself as the soothing voice in the wind; or as the burning bush that refuses to burn; He may reveal Himself as man or as an unseen spirit that comforts; He may decide to be a God that shows mercy or one that rains down retribution.
Have you ever seen a burning bush that refuses to burn or did you read another of the myths that some group men wrote about their god?. . . . .Your evidence to show that there is a god that rains down mercy or retribution is what?. . . . .

'God is not physically tangible, so can reveal himself to any one who so desires in anyway He so desires'.
That means god is nothing. . . .Again your evidence to show that there is a god that has desires is what?
