I just don't get it with religious philosophers, They are interested ONLY endless rigmaroles, I just want vairo to provide simeple evidence to show us that the god of the bible exist or at least that some of the claims that christian make are true, For example christians claim that the bible is the word of an all knowing, all god and all powerful god who created the universe and wants people to know about him. If that is true then any god with an interest in being worshiped, or obeyed, or followed, or really, anything other than being ignored, would be able to write or inspire a holy book that all who read it found convincing, clear, perfect in its meaning, and/or undeniably true. If the bible is that book why is it that many christians do not accept or agree on the text? Why do so many christians read and interprete the bible VERY VERY differently?The bible is blatantly erroneous on numerous counts and otherwise plagued with vacuous propositions and prophetic blunders, internal contradictions, historical and scientific errors, historical anachronisms and a god whose actions are ethically questionable. How can the bible be said to be a word of a god when men wrote everything that was written in it based ONLY on their world views, culture and position in human history ?

I expected that even if vairo can not provide evidence to show that that the god of the bible exists, He should at least provide evidence to show that some god "inspired" men to write what is written in the bible since we can all see the bible and the words that it contains but no, vairo will prefer to run around talkking about philosophical rigmaroles that mean NOTHING. . . . . .

Since you believe in the god of the bible then you should be able to provide some evidence that he exist beside some philosopical rigmarole that provides no evidence but arguments and conter arguments.

Do you believe that there is a god that is all good, all knowing, all merciful, all powerful who answers prayers for example? If you do then provide evidence to show that such a god exist. When can begin with prayers, Your evidence to show that Christians that pray to their god for protection are better protected than others that do not pray to the christian god for protection is WHAT?

This is an example of how brainless you can be. I believe what Revelation 6:13 states as long as you don't snatch it from its context.

I wasn't even alluding to revelation 6: 13 I was talking about the stories about stars of the sky fighting wars with humans as recorded in the book of Judges: Judges 5:20 From the heavens the stars fought, from their courses they fought against Sisera. Another translation puts it like this. . . .(New Living Translation) The stars fought from heaven. The stars in their orbitsfought against Sisera .. . . . .Why is it that stars ONLY fight against men in the pages of books?

I do. Forcing yourself to write 'God' in lower case is not showing you as a rational person interested in dialogue, or I wonder what it takes to do the simple sane things. Not that I care any which way - it rather makes me feel sorry for folks who are quite too disturbed about these matters that they just have to keep forcing themselves to such things.

The athiest disbelieves because he has not been provided empirical and good evidence to show that the assertions of the theist are true. Believers have to keep making excuses all the time. . . . . .  They make excuses like ''She's an invisible gorilla." "When she hears you coming she hides behind the door or becomes invisible." "She's a Zen gorilla who knows how to move silently across the room." Of course none of these excuses are any more credible than the original claim, and a rational person can see that they are just ad hoc attempts to avoid admitting the obvious. No believer would ever consider making absurd excuses like this to try and save any other kind of disproved opinion, but religion encourages it: 'have faith' = 'make lots of excuses'.

So to sum up, can I prove there is no god?. . . . . Yes, in exactly the same way I can prove any other empirical statement  by presenting the physical evidence. Can I convince dedicated believers that there is no god?. . . .  No, because they will never accept that I have presented all the evidence, even though in any other field of enquiry they would happily accept the same type and amount of evidence as a convincing knock-down proof. God always gets special pleading all the time.

So religious believers are inherently inconsistent. But that's their problem, not mine.  . . . . .

If you can provide credible and conclusive evidence that can be objectively measured to show that god or the spirit world exist please do so. There are TV shows detailing stories about alien abductions and other stuff, are we supposed to accept these non evidential claims because we see programs about them on TV?

When its proven that it was the visions or "leads" of a psychic that led police to the apprehension of a criminal, do you say the psychic is deluded?

If there is a spirit world, it stands to reason there is a leader there. Progressing from that premise, there is a natural progression to the "God concept". Its not a dream, delusion or idiocy. Its a fact and He has right to do as He wills.

The concept of a "good", "father-figure to only our church", "deadly and tithe collecting shylock" God comes from organized "business" Christians. The Bible provides only one definition of God BY God. It says "I am that I am". Nothing apologetic there. Other definitions include that "He shows mercy to whom He will and to whom He won't, He doesn't" and "The clay cannot ask the potter, what makest thou?" and that "He is Jealous". Words like loving, fatherly, friendly etc are man's attempts to describe something thats undescribable.

The concept of god the father comes from the bible, Its funny how you are just cherry picking the definition of the god you want the bible to talk about and present it as if that is how the bible has defined the god it is talking about. . . .The bible was written by so many different people, each with a different concept of how it sees the god it is talking about. . . .To some of the writers this god they imagine is a loving, providing and protecting father figure, to the others he is a warrior, spiteful and vengeful god of deztruction and war. . . .What ever concept that came into their mind the wrote it down and presented it to the people and made them accept it. . . .Since all you have as your evidence to show for this god is the writings by which the god inventors left behind, you just have to walk on a fine line by having to choose from what they have writen and create a god out of it. . . When DeepSight appears with his theories of God being something nobody cannot understand, I tend to agree with him though not accepting all his theories.

Some have come out of the organizations that do exactly what you have said above and many are not even seen as Christianly (by the organized churches) any longer. However, they are Christians like should be. Using the "herd instinct" christians as a type stamp for all is not right.

What if I point out that yahweh cannot even live up to his own standards? For example, yahweh gave the commandment not to commit murder. But what should we call it when yahweh kills the first born of every Egyptian household because of what the unelected, unimpeachable pharaoh did due to yahweh heardening his heart? I have a friend who was usually scathingly dismissive of anything 'supernatural'. She had been brought up in a muslim household but had become anti-religious to the point of so-called blasphemy. I shall leave to your imagination the sort of things she uttered about the Muslim faith!

Then, one day she got a shock. I had recounted to her an event that had occurred to me that had no scientific explanation (nothing indicative of a god, just something without a scientific explanation). She was often quick to spot and point out weak links in any such accounts, but, in this case, there clearly was none. I could see she was shaken and she said that, if what I had told her was true, she is not sure she wants to talk with me any more! She was a long-standing friend, by the way. So you can imagine how shaken she was.

That is when I realised that much of her joking and dismissive attitude was simply posturing to help counter the psychological toll of the threatened punishment for those who leave the faith. Science acted as her haven. Only by throwing the baby out with the bath water and completely dispelling any hint of the 'paranormal' could she feel sure of herself. So she certainly did not welcome this blow I had given to her confidence.

I have found similar things with some who have left the Catholic faith. I actually think Richard Dawkins is an example. I think science is his psychological refuge although it is not something he is ever likely to admit, even to himself.

And what might this experience be?. . . . . .How does your subjective experince point to something supernatural?. . . .Did you see a moving house? or a flying rat? Did you hear voices? Did you see an amputee regrow his/her amputated limbs?. . . .Did you see a man that died and ressurected from the dead after 2 months?. . . . .And how sure are you that those experiences of yours do not have scientific explanations. . . . . .You begin this topic by begging the questions that some atheist are afraid of their former beliefs. . . .Do you believe only based on fear or because the beliefs are actually true,I notice that most people believe ONLY because they have been conditioned since when they were babies to fear their mythical beliefs . . . . . .There is more than enough evidence thats shows that all religious beliefs are MAN MADE. . . . .

What is the lust in asking for your god to make the amputated limbs of a 4 year old girl to regrow? . . . .I thought Jesus said in the bible that Nothing will be impossible for those that believe if only they ask? Why then is it impossible for those that believe to make the amputated limbs of people to regrow? Is it because the promise is FALSE?
