The first thing that struck me was that the mass of meat that lay there was not my father.

When we argue sometimes, it is very necessary to look inward at ourselves. No man is a perfection of knowledge. I know this medium is meant in whatever way to serve as a way to get more knowledge, no matter how verse any of us may be.
The Bible as I believe it to be is an entity that cannot be denied. If you say the Bible is contradictory, I may not be in the best position to judge the issue but what judges a "thing" as contradictory or bogus or "fraud". Is it because it has different "stories" (as some of you have put it) which is aimed at teaching different morals? Or is it because it speaks earnestly of what has been, what is and what is to be? As we can very well trace the history of the making of what we call Bible - it is not a book that fell from heaven. The Bible itself is nothing but a mere book. What distinguishes it however is the infallible word that we read from it - referring to our daily activities, our deepest secrets and untold lies. No scholar whatsoever can boldly come out today and declare the Bible as fraud.  I think that is rather too harsh - to be more polite. I'm not trying to be a saint here but the fact is a book that has spent over 100 centuries and yet still thrives should call your mind to something. If it is really a fraud or doesn't make sense, wouldn't it have passed out just like any other books written  just as the time it was written. And come to think of it, the Bible is a compilation of different archives - written at different times and age - yet speak on a common ground. I have read various portions of the Qur'an and spoken at great length with Islamic scholars, I cannot but say the Qur'an itself refers you back into the Bible. It has many references to this same book which "doesn't make sense"?

The bible is a book written by different people who have different views about a particular deity they are trying to sell. . . .The OT is the history of the jews and how they thought the world and everything the saw around came into existence but the only thing was that they used their very tribal deity as an explanation for all the things the saw around. . . .the bible contains some truths and some lies as well. . . .It has survived through the ages ONLY because it is the tool that is used by the imperial forces since from the time of constantine till the 19th centuary. . . .By the way the same could be said of the koran and the hindu vehda. . . .

Speaking of the legend of Noah's ark or rather as it was put - a myth,  I cannot but laugh on that issue. Archaeological findings reveal that indeed that "myth" was for real. I may not have enough time but if you Google it, you'll find proof yourself. The Bible and the Qur'an are books that have stayed long in history. Prophet Mohammed (SAW) can't deny.

I was watching a show on the History Channel some time ago and they were telling how ancient greeks sometimes found dinosaur bones(just a few of them) including the thigh bones and since the thigh bone of some of the dinosaur by itself just looks like a giant human thigh bone, they often believed it was the bone of an older Hero of their myths and they rebury them with due honor befitting a Hero. . . .the picture above might be a dinosaur thigh(T Rex Thigh). . .

Why are these things happening in Nigeria? Why suspend people from their post or office work because they refused to pray along with you? What has prayer got to do with efficiency?

Passages like these from the bible were written by people to serve as a christian meme to strengthen their own irrational beliefs which they KNOW have no basis at all in reality. . . of course the bible writters have to find a way of keeping those that subscribe to its myths and lies by telling them that those that do not subscribe to the story it tells are foolish people who are perishing so that those that subscribe to the myths can have some level of emotional comfort while holding unto the myths it propagates. . . .That some people could truly not believe in what they have written down is a foreign idea to them I suppose so they look for ways to write them off with words like they are condemmed, perished etc. . . .

The bible(or any other religious text out there) does not make any sense to those that live out the bubble of those that practice the christian faith, but it makes a lot of sense to those who have been conditioned and raised to believe in it as the word of a god. . . .since belief in the bible stories will eventually give you some reward in the after life and the rejection of the stories will also put you in danger of burning in hell for eternity according to the christian hypothesis people who know that some of the stories in the bible are false and do not make any sense at all try by all means to rationalize what is written in the bible by finding excuses so that they can continue to hold unto their beliefs and avoid what they have been forced to believe will be the consequence of rejecting the bible stories. . . Since all the stories in the bible are based on magic you can explain all of them away with very stupid reasoning as all christians do. . . for example the Noah's flood myth. . .a lot of christians KNOW that the story is false but since they have been conditioned to accept the bible as the word of a god they just have to find excuses for it some are now claiming that it is a local flood even when the bible says it is a global flood. . .those that truly believe in it will explain it away for example if you tell them that the noah's ark is too small to hold all those animals they will reply by saying that Yahweh sent baby versions and put them into a hibernation state while on board. . . . .Once you allow magic into your worldview, nothing is impossible. . . . .so the bottom line is that the bible does not make sense to me and it never will. . . the bible is a collection of stories(mostly myths) about human origins from the very narrow pespective of the jews who used their tribal deity as a  the answer to questions posed by a culture for those things they do not understand but see happening around them, fear instilled by threats to those who violate their cultural taboos, and alleviation of the fears of the unknown for those in the culture who abide by cultural mores. . . . The bible is the story of a people and the god they invented in their own image as a group, these book has now been propagated and the god it sells or talks about has now been provided a niche in various people's imaginations  where no one can actually see him/experience him except through imagined inspiration and the interpretation of ancient stories that were written about him by other men.  By the way we KNOW that people that claim to be recieving inspiration from god/gods are people that are mostly thinking to themselves. . . .

I experienced exactly the same thing about 10 years ago on a B A flight going from Heathrow to Lagos. About two hours into the flight an announcement came over the intercom saying that all passengers and flgiht crew should return to thier seats that the plane would be flying through some turbulance in about 10 minutes. Everybody including flight crew returned to thier seats. Man it wasn't long before the plane began shake violently as the plane flew through turbulance. See as nigerians began to pray loudly, speaking in tongues, see body language as if they thought the plane was going to crash. And compare that to the few whites i saw among them in economy like me just relaxed reading thier magazines, taking it easy. This went on for a good 20 mins until the plane had passed through the turbulance. You'd think that all the Nigerians would be looking forward to go to thier imaginary Heaven but they're not. And am sure that the deluded nigerians will be dumb enough to believe that its thier prayers that stop the plane from crashing.

Forget them joh. . .I am from a family of christian fundamentalist(Mum and her sisters) that keep on talking about how we are in the end of days and how soon jesus will come and take them to heaven. . . My mum and her relatives keep singing how rotten and evil the world is. . . .Always talking about the mythical heaven which they have DEMONSTRATED so many times that the TRULY do NOT believe in it. . .I have a 68 years old aunt. . .she was sick some months ago when I visited Naija and instead of praying to her jesus to accept her into heaven she was busying praying for jesus to heal her and make her continue to live in the world she is constantly complaining is full of evil and a bad place despite the fact that she is 68year old . . . .

My mum is really into these heaven and hell myths. . . she has so many books written by lairs that claim they have been to heaven and hell and came back to narrate their "experience". . . .If you read those books you will know that heaven and hell are just a creation of the human mind. . . .the people narrate very different versions of what the allegedly saw and their testimonies cancel each other out, if you read their books you will know that they are just lying . . . .they are just lairs trying to sell books and make some cool cash. . .despite all my mums belief in heaven and how she claims she will love to go there she is constantly shouting at her driver for being reckless and trying to kill her with the way he drives . . .they are always talking about heaven but when they come face to face with death they begin to shout and scream to their imaginary god to save their lives . . . .crazy people. . .

Actually, evolution neither disproves nor negates(nor has the capability to) the possible existence of giants.It has been proven, under laboratory conditions, that under certain climactic conditions,it is very possible to produce living species of any kind in over-proportionate sizes.
A certain kind of climactic conditions that were believed to have existed on the planet earth a long time ago by archaeologists and anthropologists, was simulated in the lab and the result yielded a fish of giant size. A fish that, under normal natural conditions found in nature today, is much smaller.
If there could have been giant mammals roaming the earth in the past, then i don't see what the problem is accepting that human beings of giant status could have existed too.
