well i guess God is not answering their prayers so they resort to shouting screaming yelling and theatrical stunts to try to get the message across. When are they going to get the message that there is no God?
its not about getting the message, when will they create their own gods and stop worshipping the gods of the jews/europeans and the arabs? the only god in this world is knowledge, open mindedness and money while the only satan is poverty, ignorance and illiteracy. . . . . .

Let the Bible speak by itself

"For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men

You are running way from the issue, athiest kill and their killings are bad. . . what makes it confounding is when a force/being or what ever claims to be the greatest source of love or mercy turns around and does things that shows he completely does not know what love and mercy are. . . . athiest never claim to be the greatest source of love or mercy so when they kill their killings are different than when a god that says he is the greatest source of love and mercy but kills and orders people to kill to the extent of punishing them if they refuse to kill. . .some times the biblical god kills for reasons i believe athiest killers wont . . . . example in the bible god killed 40, thousand people for looking into an ark of covenant or kills childre for being kids. . . hitler killed for power and conquest not because he did'nt want people looking into his bedroom. . . . . but kai it seems you dont want to address the issue because i believe it makes you feel uncomfortable, you are more interested in turning the plates against me nice try . . . they call it tijustsu in marshall arts abi you don become barack obama?

No be small thing. . . .I like your line of reasoning but athiest have nothing to answer because they dont go around claiming things that are completely propesterous. . . pls answer this question. . .how is the biblical god the greatest source of love, mercy and justice when he kills over 40 thousand people for just looking into a ark of covenant or tells people to kill each other? how is he the god of love when he instructs people on how to share virgins and proceeds after a war?how is he the greatest source of understanding when he encourages division amongst people? how is he a god of justice when he kills babies just because their parents worship other gods or gives out instruction on how people are to enslave each other? how is he the greatest source of mercy when he tells people to stone a person to death for picking stones on a sabath? how is he the river of love when he sends a bear to kill 42 children just for being kids? No athiest has ever claimed to be the greatest sourec of love, mercy, justice and power. the biblical god did but some of his actions in the bible has clearly showed that he doesnt understand the meaning of love, mercy and justice let alone being their greatest source. . . how do you reconclie the fact that a god that says he is the greatest source of love then turns around and does things that even his greatest enemy satan who is supposed to be the bad guy and the greatest source of evil has no record of doing such things?
Christianity Etc › Re: Is The Bible Easy To Understand? by mazaje(m): 10:18am On Oct 23, 2008
You need to be educated to understand the bible simple. . . The holy spirit crap is the reason why we have over 30,000 sects(religions) in christianity most of which are at each others neck fighting and denouncing each other. . . . The holy spirit argument falls falt because if there was any such things as the holy spirit there will be a Universal accepted christainity because the holy spirit will give out the same message to every one it reaches. . .  why is there no universally accepted christainity or christain doctorine? is the holy spirit at conflict with itself to the extent that it gives conflicting messages to people? different sects of christainity have very different doctorines and they all claim to have recieved their inspiration/messages from the holy spirit. . . why is that so? is the holy spirit at war with itself? the same holy spirit is what the catholics, jehova witness, baptist, lutheran, anglicans, white garment wearing, seven day adventist, protestants, mormons, greek othordox etc claim to have inspired their message/doctorines. . . who amongst them is lying and who is telling the truth? the holy spirit can not send out conflicting messsages to all these sects i just listed because they hardly agree on a single issue apart from the fact that jesus died on the cross. . . . . who and what is the holy spirit? does prophet TB joshua and the pope believe in the same holy spirit? why are their messages different? Does pastor chris oyahkilome and pastor kumuyi of depper life bible church recieve their inspiration from the same holy spirit? why are their messages very different and at conflict with each other? does bishop TD jakes and olumba olumba believe in the same holy spirit? why all the different messages/doctorines alluded to the same holy spirit? again is the holy spirit at war or in disagreement with itself? why is there no single and universally accepted christainity from the same holy spirit every body alludes to?

My God will only do such a thing to people who are convinced that evil should go unpunished. But that was the 'jewish god' anyway, the very one who had not yet revealed his secret plan for mankind i.e to unite all mankind Jews and Gentiles by making them partakers of his grace.
What do you mean by the jewish god? is there any such thing as the jewish god? the same god that revealeved himself in the old testament is the same god in the new testament so what the heck are you saying?

Go over those verses you think God was cruel and ask yourself if he meted punishment to good people who never caused harm and destruction.
If you don’t worship God, he’ll sever your arm, revoke your eyesight, and curse you with a premature death (1 Samuel 2:31-33). Similarly, he’ll wipe you off the earth if you observe other gods (Deuteronomy 6:14-15). If you take it as far as hating God, he’ll totally destroy you (Deuteronomy 7:10). I think these punishments are starting to creep over that arbitrary boundary known as “fairness.” are the medieval jews any different than the jews of today? where is the harm and destruction in not worshiping a god? so you believed the jews deserved to have their body parts cut off as god said he would do to them if they refuse to worship him. . . there are over 4 billion people on earth today who do not worship the biblical god why is'nt he going around killing them? i bet there was a lot of people at that time who were worshipping other gods, why didnt he destroy them?

Due to the hardness of their hearts (jewish people) he made laws that were meant to order their steps according to his will. All the laws no matter how harsh they may have been were meant to force his people to obey and serve him since he had made a covenant with Abraham to preserve this people.
as some one pointed out god was the one that hardned their hearts and destroyed them for hardneing their hearts in some cases in the bible, why would a good, loving and just god do that? why make hard the hearts of mean and punish them for that which you made them do? does that sound like justice to you?

The gift of the holy spirit which would have made them love and keep his commandments without being coerced had not yet been given and that was why he sent his son.
You just pointed that the biblical god does not know what he is doing, and yet you guys claim that he is omni, omni. . . . . . . the bible said that jesus came to defeat sin, has sin been defeated after his death? why is there still sin in the world? there was no sin during the time of adam and eve in garden of eden according to the bible, jesus came to restore man to god and defeat sin why is there still sin after jesus death and so called resurection?
This same God is unchangeable because there is no contradiction in his ways what seems to be contradictions are the ranting imaginations of the , you know who.
You clearly do not know what you are saying . . .

This is the dumbest thing I ever heard this decade! Don't you have eyes to see how worse your case is? You are not guided by force of anything (goodness, kindness, love and justice) and you make a career educating others how to go about living by them? Even without any such force, your own case for atheistic murder is so dumb. At least, if one was guided by a force (whatever that is) to commit the things you complain about, how in the world do we understand that without that same or any force, there's blood dripping from atheistic hands?

You go on and on about this case, and yet we don't see you make any intelligent case for your worries. well done.
cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy you understood very well what i was saying but you prefer to not discuss it but erupt in a wild distortion of what i laid down. . . . . simple question for you pilgrim how can your god claim that he is the greatest source of love and justice but turn around and kill, tell others to kill even the innocent for trivial reasons like merely looking at something or for no reason at all as recorded in the bible, how can he say that he is just when he punishes innocent children for the sins of their parents? all his actions are in his holy book called the bible. . .
You don't need to reconcile anything - we are waiting to see how atheism (the same atheism) has been any better than this glib joke you guys pretend not to notice. "Killings" - is not a strange word in atheistic history as well: and why have you guys not ceased being human beings on that note?
Your argument falls flat here reason is that athiest have never claimed to be guided by a force of goodness, kindness, love and justice. . . The biblical god claims he is all loving, just, kind, moral and forgiving but when you read the bible you find so many places where he is completely not loving , not kind, not just and not moral, how do you reconcile all these? No athiest has claimed that he is guided by any set of defined laws or authority. . . in religion especially chriatianity and islam god is the moral and ultimate authority that controls the discussion, how do you understand and reconcile a god as the ultimate power of authority and control when he tells people not to kill in one passage and tells people to kill(including the innocent) in another?

Athiest have no question to answer because no athiest has ever claimed that his ideas or philosophy are the ultimate. . .  christains have claimed that their god is the only way and truth hence they have to expain why the only truth encourages people to lie sometimes in the bible? they have to explain why the greatest source of love which they believe their god is will commanded people to kill each other for very trivial issues like picking sticks on the sabbath or lack of worship. christains will have to expain why a just god who they believe to be the ultimate source of justice will tell people to kill the innocent even babies sometimes in the bible. christains will have to explain how a just god who is the ultimate source of justice transfers the sins of parents unto their innocent children. . . . . No atheist has to expain the actions and atrocities of Moa of china because he has never said that he is the ultimate truth, hitler has never said that he is the greatest source of justice and love, no athiest has ever claimed to be the ultimate souce of love and kindness. . .  the biblical god did and hence when he exihibits virtues that are very contrary to that which he says he is then his veracity has to be put into question. . . not that i believe that he exist but if he does then why is he very contradictory?. . . . . .

Anyway, enjoy the evening. wink
My problem with this line of argument/reasoning is that it is the same god that gave out the same babaric laws to the jews that has now turned 360 degrees to issue out very different laws to the gentiles, how can you reconcile a god that tells jews to kill apostates and punishes them in some cases if they don't, and the same god telling the gentiles something very different while maintaing that he is the same god to day, yesterday and forever who never changes? why was the biblical god so tribal, billigerent, manovalent and down right cruel when dealing with the jews and humanity in general in the old testament but the same god changed 360 degrees in most parts of the new testament while dealing with humanity and the same god kept saying that he remains the same god forever who never changes. . . . . how can you reconcile these two very contradictory personalities. . . . . .

I did read all through - and that was why I ignored the part you had wanted me to look at, because you are ignoring the fact that this thread does not address your concerns or fears about Christians. To misrepresent this issue on the idea that Christianity has "moved away from this form of barbarism" is to fail to see that Biblical Christianity did not start from such a premise before inferring that it "moved away" from such. This would be just as much to say that atheism has "moved away" from the denial of the supernatural to belief in the paranormal - would that be a correct analysis of your worldview? If not, why this deliberate misrepresentation?

The place for your to bear out this concern is not here - you know those whom you had in mind when looking at the killing of apostates - you should have gone there to ask them that question and not sit here starting out with this sort of misrepresentation and hoping to quote the "Old Testament" to force this issue and then turn back to ask if we never read through all your post. I wonder how you missed the fact that I called your attention initially to that point.
is the god of the old testament different from the god of the new testament? why did he encourage the jews to kill apostates before?

telling us who is the Truly universal entity known as "God," to those of us who

In Islam, read the Qur'an, you will not find the same condition of lying or multiple

we need to address and clarify the fundamental issue of whether olorun is the same as jehovah/yahweh/allah,
if this so called "god" is the same being that our forefather worship, how come the christian missionaries and the arabic muslim did not agree and accept that olorun is the same as god, but still labelled them as heathen and pagans, which means our forefathers has no concept of jehovah/yahweh,allah in their belief systems,

if christians and muslims would not agree that their gods are the same, likewise olorun should not be equated with those variant gods.
