Granted. . .All these attributes that the god creators and inventors ascribes to their various gods are just meaningless and can be shown to be logically incompatible. . .For example how can a god that is said to exist outside time and space act inside time and space?. . .You give your god attributes that are impossible like say a married bachelor. . .How can one be a married bachelor?. . .Here is how a guy describes what you guys are doing and I will quote him here. . .

I used to be petrified by this movie when I first watched it as a young teenager, my mum actually used it to convert us to christianity from islam. . .I was SO AFRAID of this thrash back it the days. . .Its so obvious that this nonsense drama will not even scare the kids of today. . .I repeat the hell myth does not make sense or sound as a just system to many christians any more. It sounds sadistic and immoral, only the very fundamentalist deluded ones still believe in the hell myth, evenamongst them they have erected their own ideas about it because it still doesn't make sense to many of them. . .

I was watching the god TV about few years(2-3) ago when i went visiting a friend in his house, a guy was on TV and was explaining the concept of hell to his audience, he was saying that god will not punish people for ever in hell, they will stay in hell and feel excruciating pains for the number of years they lived here on earth after which god will allow their souls to stay in the fire(a seperation from him) with out feeling any pain for eternity. . .I wonder where he got that concept from but its obvious that even for him as a end of day fire and brimestone preacher the hell myth doesn't sound moral or as a good form of justice. . .

knockturnal: Bill, I have seen an event that may qualify to fit into your question about withches and wizards. Still beyond my comprehension and liable to a sacarstic respone from you, I must say that yes; I have seen what must have been an incident that qualify as an example that witches do exist. I incidentally ran into a crowd where a snake was being killed. In front of my eyes, the snake 'metamorphosed'(for lack of a better word to describe was I saw) into a naked young lady. My senses were so repulsed by what I saw that I threw up repeatedly immediately after I beheld such anomally. The whole crowd dispersed with alarcrity. I still go to church in Nigeria sometimes, mostly to meet up with some friends and business partners. . .People still think am a weird kind of christian because i let them know that i don't believe in all the mythical stuffs like juju, and many of the silly mythical stories we hear about, like people turning into tubers of yams, bullet proof juju, people disappearing and turning into animals, witches and wizards etc. I am never afraid to go where people claim are hunted with evil spirits etc(all those crazy superstitious stuffs). Some times I tell people that they re not suposed to pray but do their best when they are dealing with me, i always tell them that what man needs to do must be done by man himself, use your abilities and god will help you, don't just sit and pray because it never works etc. . .Am just a weird and unconventional Nigerian christian to them. . .

Now that I am financially independent and doing very well, most people are afraid to challenge my views on religion because they feel I will be offended and it will affect our relationship, if it does they believe they won't get something from me . . .

Nigerians mostly care that you have money and you are going to give them, that is all they care about,if you have money and you will give them, they will worship you, they will say things behind your back but once they see you they will always worship you if you are rich, so now am free, my wealth buys me freedom to do and say what I want with regards to religion which i still find very surprising. . .I think its best to just lie that you are a christian for now till you are rich then you can always let them know. . .They will still roll with you as long as you are rich, they will still worship you as an atheist as long as you have money. . .Because that's what Nigerians mostly care about. . .Money and nothing else. . .

That's one of it , another thing is that people see the hell myth as something too outlandish because of our moral evolution. . .Why should someone suffer for eternity in burning fire because of the crime of disbelief?. . .It doesnn't make any sense or sound morally right to most people any more. .Many christians now say hell is a separation from god not the place of fire and torture that was preached back in the days even though the bible says it is. . . . The morality of christians these days has evolved better than that of the god they worship. . .Many christians no longer accept the hell myth as a just punishment for any body any more . . .
