Donzman:
You hypocrite, how can you bash Atiku based on a report and when it comes to OBJ you regard the report as trash?

What OBJ did was corruption, keep playing with semantics.
Thanks for calling me a hypocrite but that wont change my argument

My dictionary defines corruption as
1. lack of integrity or honesty (especially susceptibility to bribery); use of a position of trust for dishonest gain [syn: corruptness] [ant:
While it is arguable whether what OBJ is accused of amounts to corruption as he did not benefit but used the money for public interest, it is noteworthy that this has not been the basis of my argument.
All I am saying is that for whatever you choose to call the diferent offences they simply should not attract the same penalty as the gravity of the both offence are not the same.
PoliticsRe: President Obasanjo And Atiku Indicted For Corruption by McKren(m): 10:55pm On Mar 26, 2007
It IS Corruption, corruption does not have to benefit you personally, as long you have diverted public funds to fulfill your own interest as opposed to that of the public, it is corruption.
Even your own definition of corruption does not conform with what OBJ did.

I take a different view

Girls are less interested in politics not because they are any less intelligent but I think its because politics comes with intrigues, strategies, maneuvering and manipulation and these are characteristics girls generally are not into. They tend to follow their hearts and attach emotions in most of what they do and thats basically the difference.

@Larufa

From your post you do agree that INEC has the duty to verify candidates, can you explain the very essence of the verification excercise. Is it an academic excersize or an attempt to ensure that candidates are fit for purpose in accordance with provisions of the constitution.

So why is INEC NOT choosing to fine such political parties? More importantly, why would that section exist if INEC is the one supposed to DISQUALIFY?
INEC should fine political parties and not disqualify the candidates  grin grin grin
People should show some respect for Nigerians please.
That fine is not intended to legalise an illegal candidate, it is meant to penalise the party in question for wasting INEC's time and that is after the candidate must have been screened out.

Larufa and Draonel, you guys are very loyal followers and I admire you guys for that. But the truth is Atiku is begining to accept his faith.
He was not at AC ralies at PH and Asaba.

It is begining to sink in that he has no place in our political future.

DRANOEL:
simple, because you havent seen the appeal papers, the judgement that was first passed did not contain any order that was why inec did not include atiku's name. ac is now seeking an order compelling inec to print atiku's name
That does not explain why I should take you more seriously than INEC chairman or The SUN. I need a reason.

Ok probably you guys know better than the defendant INEC on this issue

Quote
“The other issue with AC is that when we made a case that the issue was not the way it was reported, they contested it for a while, but they have now gone back to appeal against that judgment. Why are they appealing? They are in court now, but it was kept low by the media.
“Nobody is hearing about the records and grounds of the appeal. We have the records and grounds of the appeal. They appealed against the entire judgment,” Iwu said.

PoliticsRe: Ac Appeals Against Its Own Court Victory by McKren(op): 6:10pm On Mar 26, 2007
Only God will see us through in this country, it is for the same Court Judgement they were telling Iwu to remember that he has no immunity like OBJ and could go to jail for contempt. They went further to innitiate a prosecution against Iwu for contempt of court but the same Justice babs kewunmi who ruled on the case threw the contempt charges out of court. Now they are appealing the whole judgement.

Drama upon drama, they even go as far as asking a Judge to disqualify himself from passing a verdict on anycase they are unable to compromise the Judge.
You simple wont hear any of these in the media huhhuhhuhhuhhuh??
PoliticsAc Appeals Against Its Own Court Victory by McKren(op): 11:15am On Mar 26, 2007
It is interesting to note that the AC is appealing against their much celebrated court victory. Why is thathuhhuhhuh?

“The other issue with AC is that when we made a case that the issue was not the way it was reported, they contested it for a while, but they have now gone back to appeal against that judgment. Why are they appealing? They are in court now, but it was kept low by the media.

90% of ICPC members are old school, well educated and very knowledgeable when it comes to law, politics and respect for human rights.
They did not take their positions only to impress the president or to make name for themselves. Their concept or manner of operation is a group oriented
what have they achieved so farhuhhuh??/ in a country as corrupt as Nigeria yet there is hardly any high profile arrest you can associate with ICPC. ICPC is simply synonmous with inefficiency.

I have said it before, I dont know any individual who has no questions of corruption that has been harrased by EFCC so I simply dont know why any law abbiding Nigerian will be worried about EFCC or Ribadu.
PoliticsRe: President Obasanjo And Atiku Indicted For Corruption by McKren(m): 10:23pm On Mar 25, 2007
The main problem I have with people is double standard. If the senate report had indicted Atiku only everybody would be very happy and commend them for a job well done but for the fact that they mentioned an angel we would describe them as insincere. If a judge vindicates Atiku we would condemn the judiciary but if on convict Atiku we (McKren) would be the first to post it online can we be unbiased in our views?
Such a great advice coming from an unbiased commentator lipsrsealed

I know what you represent so there is no point  criticizing Atiku to make your post attractive.

The senate was very unambiguous in indicting the TWO of them
I have never said there is anything wrong in indicting both men, but penalties have to be commensurate to offence. Road traffic offence and Murder are both a case of breaking the law but they simply cant attract the same penalty.
It does not matter how much gramma you are able to speak but there is no where else in the world where a Government official who used Govt money meant for a particular project to execute another govt project will be treated as a govt official who used govt money to pursue private bussiness.

PoliticsRe: Yaradua's Assets - N500 Million: Could It Be True? by McKren(m): 1:32am On Mar 25, 2007
I simply wont try to justify the money Yaradua has, because he comes from a political dynasty that has been connected to power over the years. He would have inherited from his fathers thereby inheriting our (Nigeria's) collective fortune.

It is like trying to justify Mohamed Babangida being a billionaire tomorrow as if he knew any money making spin his mates did not know.

But all I ask is, why all them elite politicians have looted this nation in the past (including the Yaraduas) Nigeria has a lot of money to still move on. They should simply take our country seriously so that we don't all become homeless someday.
The NigerDelta elite politicians who colluded with the Nigerian leaders in the 80s may not have envisaged that someday where they call home will be a warzone. If we continue like this youth restiveness might someday spread accross all parts of the nation.

So while they have embezzled so much they should try to change the state of our Nation otherwise soon Nigeria will be insecure for both the poor and the rich.
