A lot of corrupt people have been dealt with (both friends and foes of OBJ) while a few others who seem to be connected to OBJ have not been brought to book though there are also those who are'nt friends of OBJ that has not been brought to book.

However, in all these one thing you can not say is that there is one innocent fella free of corruption that has been persecuted by EFCC. So I simply don't understand why any law abbiding Nigerian will be worried about Ribaduhuhhuhhuhhuh?

@McKren
The constitution says an aggrieved person should go to court for a pronouncement/verdict on the disqualification or otherwise of a candidate. Sorry I do not remember the section of the constitution/electoral act that says this, I will get back to later with this.
Make sure when you come back you quote the constitution and not Lai (lie) Mohamed or AC. Cos I have my own copy and will verify. And also state clearly what your argument is huh

besides that also remember section 1 of the constitution which dwells on supremacy of the constitution in case of conflicts.

In the words of Mallam Nuhu Ribadu

"the more you see the less you understand"

Simply dont know why the average Nigerian who is at the recieving end of the cankerworm called corruption prefers to attack EFCC rather than those looting the treasury. Democracy has been re-defined in our Nation, those who say it must not be bussiness as usual are now the dictators why those who want otherwise are democrats.
Their argument is, why wont we loot when you are also lootinghuhhuh?? In their bid to achieve this they use the media to blackmail whoever stands in their way.
What a new definition of democracy grin grin grin grin grin
Only God can save us.

PoliticsRe: PTDF Review Panel Members Resign by McKren(m): 8:36pm On Mar 22, 2007
The truth is, it will be so naive to think Nnamani who defied OBJ when he had close to 2years in office will lick his butts 1 month to go. I like it when a man reasons properly regardless of emotions and sentiments, this is about national interest and that is what Nnamani is doing. Impeaching OBJ/Atiku 21 days to election will open an unnecessary chapter in the history of this nation.

However the man Nnamani had stopped OBJ when he killed third term, there is also need to stop Atiku because both Atiku/OBJ should have no place in our political future.
That is what I think this is about.
PoliticsRe: Atiku's Court Victories by McKren(m): 8:13pm On Mar 22, 2007
What I am trying to do by posting this list is for us to see the trend of things concrening the suppose "illegal disqualification" of Turaki Atiku Abubakar.
It defeats the very essence of this forum if the propaganda perpetrated by the Nigerian media finds its way into this forum.
The list is a litany of half truths, the Turaki Vanguard have shown their ability to re-interprete court verdicts and people have to be careful what and what not to believe about them.

E.g. In line 6, the verdict by Justice Inumudin Akande never granted any relief to the person of Atiku Abubakar, thus I doubt the veracity of the final clause on that line which reads "including the vice president". It is in the light of this that the argument that Atiku can not benefit from a case he is not party to was born out.

Line 13 which reads "INEC disqualification illegal" is a clear example of being economical with the truth. In that case Atiku prayed for 6 reliefs and was granted only one conditionally, in which Justice Babs Kewunmi held that while INEC had no powers under law to disqualify candidates they had powers to verify that candidates to ensure they met constitutional requirements.  I don't see how that should be considered as victory for Turaki Vanguard.
It is also intresting to note that sequel to this verdict Atiku charged Iwu to court for contempt but the same Justice Babs Kewunmi threw out their case. Why are they decieving the Nigerian Publichuhhuh Why did'nt that list also contain that Justice Binta Nyako has once held that "existing legislation as provided in the constitution are enough to bar any candidate without necessarily any court pronouncement".

Or are you not aware of section 1 of the constitution which dwells on the Supremacy of the constitutionhuhhuh??

Atiku is not qualified in accordance with the provision of the constitution, it is that simple.

Please there is no weapon of mass destruction as wicked as misinforming the public and I beg you to desist from this act.

All this gra-gra, Buhari will not even win governor of Katsina if he were to stand let alone Nigeria.

The man should be greatful to God for being so lucky cos I think ideally he is supposed to retire from the Nigerian Army as a colonel. His skills are only needed on battle front.

A person indicted is not fit to rule in any capacity for any lenght of time even for a day so McKren telling us to leave OBJ for 30 days, only God knows how much he would do in 30 corruption filled days. He should resign if he has any honor in him or better still be impeached. So a case of pot calling kettle black.
If the presidency went o court to ask the V.P to be removed with a few months to the end of his dormant tenure and he can't be managed for the remaining time, OBJ too should resign as he is not no longer fit to rule this country even for 1 day longer!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will rather put up with a President who uses Government fund meant for a particular government project to fund anoother government project for a remaining 100day tenure than to enthrone a President who is capable of spending Government money on private bussiness intrest for even 1 week.
Please I beg you to show some respect for the word "RESIGNATION" because all of you Atiku supporters and your principal don't know the meaning of that word. It simply does not exist in your dictionary.

did they ever announce the results of that election?? probably because they were both muslims that was why IBB annulled the election results. Thanx to IBB. MKO was instrumental in rigging the election that saw Shagari from no where as Nigeria's president against Pa Awo; na God catch MKO.
This argument is so misguided, trying to fit it into the bone of contention is just a puzzle to say the least.

Okayyyy so OBJ is corrupt I never knew. McKren, dblock could this be true How can anybody indict an angel the best president Naija ever had. These people dnt know what they are saying
Naija has never had it this good. If being indicted stop you from contesting election doesnt it make you eligible for immediate impeachment too? I need some clarification
If there is any sincerity in you, you will know that spending one government money meant for a particular project for another Government project is never the same as spending government money on private bussiness interest. They should never on mother earth attract the same punishment.
PoliticsRe: Obasanjo: Ptdf The Truth Is Out. (liar) by McKren(m): 7:13pm On Mar 21, 2007
No one has told us how much Atiku is using to single handedly fund the AC
Atiku is not accused of corruption because he bought Lexus or 607 for Fasawe
Atiku is not even being questioned how he is able to have investments in different sectors of the economy including Media, oil and gas, Telecomunication etc.

No one is asking those rhetorical questions even when it is obvious that his service in customs could not have brought him such wealth because there is no proof.

Atiku is being accused of diverting State Funds into Private intrests, clear case of corruption and abuse of office. That is the difference between Atiku and OBJ.
PoliticsRe: Obasanjo: Ptdf The Truth Is Out. (liar) by McKren(m): 7:07pm On Mar 21, 2007
Fasawe is not happy to discuss anything that has to do with banks and refer them to his bank but is so happy to discuss on the MOFAS account and how the President paid 700million into it. That sums up why he came to the Senate, for a singular purpose to smear OBJ.

I have said it before, all this crap allegations against OBJ can't stand in any law court. Those who go about telling us how OBJ bought 200million shares, Paid 700million Naira into Fasawe's account and how he bought a car for his girlfriend should do a more thorough job by telling us what Government funds OBJ has diverted to fund this expenditure, otherwise it amounts to nullity. Telling us what expenditures OBJ has made without telling us how that affects the country's treasury is merely feeling the air with intrigues aimed at putting Nigerians in a Island of despair that afterall there is no one to trust and thus no hope lets remain where we are.

If Atiku is sure of himself why did he try to stop Senate through a law court from indicting him seprately from that pronounced by the administrative panel of enquiry??

Time will tell where all this propaganda will lead to

Either you likeit or not, we should be all be grateful to Obasanjo and ATIKU for exposing their shaddy deals to Nigerian. ATIKU IS GREAT!!!
If you are sincere you will know who should actually be congratulated for making corruption an issue of national debate.

Your caption for this thread "He who lives in a glass house let him not throw stones" sums up how you and all those in Atiku camp would have loved the status quo to be maintained so that Fraud in high places will continue.

If anybody in Nairaland is looking to draw up a list of fans of OBJ please I like "McKren" to be number one on that list.

whyhuhhuhhuhhuh??

I know for a fact that if OBJ did not say it can not be bussiness as usual, if he allowed every tom, dy-ck and harry that find themselves on the corridors of power to loot the treasury at the expense of the Nigerian people the situation would have been different by now.
If he allowed the IBBs and Atikus do want they want and come may 29 hand over to one of them, trust me 99% of those who formed the AC would have been eulogising this President by now. The question is if OBJ did this what would he have lost personallyhuhhuh (absolutely nothing)
Whose interest is this man protecting by destroying his relationship with his bossom friends to fight this causehuhhuhhuh/.
Some of us will like to argue that is he not corrupt himself? but the petinent question is how long would we have waited for this Mr. Clean to change the status quo in a society where virturlly every fabric of our life has been corrupted.
The fight against corruption, selective or not, however you want to view it. You can not take away the fact that it has brought to our awareness that corruption can not continue to be a norm in our daily lives.

HATE HIM OR LOVE HIM, NOW THAT THE END IS NEAR AND HE IS ABOUT TO FACE THE FINAL CURTAIN. I LIKE TO SAY IT CLEAR THAT MY GENERAL SHOULD HOLD UP HIS HEAD IN HIGH ESTEEM COS HE DID IT HIS WAY.

@Topic
In whose interest will it be to impeach the President/VP less than 30 days to election. I believe the Senate leadership is only displaying maturity. I had always known that the best thing will be a flat indictment of OBJ/Atiku without impeachment. With that the Senate would have succeeded in edging out both Atiku and OBJ from our political future.

Once upon a time they stopped OBJ from a  third term, now they need to also stop Atiku from election for this Nation to move on. The only problem is most Senators who benefited   when Atiku was defacto President will not allow this.

Whoever thinks they hate OBJ, he is a dictator for that Atiku should be supported is simply being naive as that will not remove an inch from the the person of OBJ. Dont be decieved most of our elite politicians ganging up against the President are those who benefited a lot between 1999-2003 when Atiku was the de-facto President of Nigeria. The think of those days and fantasize what an Atiku Presidency will be all about and it translates into pouring venom at OBJ.

The point is what will be the faith of due process and anti-corruption under an Atiku presidency. Who will feel the impact of bad government in the next dispensationhuhhuh?? OBJ or Nigerianshuh

the answer to that question is entirely up to us to determine.

PoliticsRe: Inec Finally Disqualified Atiku : Your Honest Opinion by McKren(m): 11:54am On Mar 20, 2007
Though this latest pronouncement will still be appealed by the Federal Government, Atiku fans must note that the Judge was only saying it is not the duty of FG to look into State affairs (whether thats true or not) it does not affect Atiku cos his case is federal. Besides that he can not benefit from a case he is not party to.
If FG appeals this latest ruling, let no one try to bully INEC because INEC has to stay action until the case is finalised.
