prospy01: Thank you for your advice. I guess I'll have to retry relentlessly You are welcome. The gcms actually shows the exact reason (s) why am app is delayed, but if you think it is based on funds(as the refusal letter says) then you can correct that alone and reapply even before your gcms note arrives, but it will just be guessing. Some people have done that and they succeeded but I always advise people with time to order for their note just to be sure. Since you don't have much time and still want to meet up with this September resumption then you can tackle only what the refusal letter says and reapply. Good luck bro |

Oloshi83: There’s a strong correlation between his undergrad (IT) and the course he is applying for. He just needs to articulate it in his SOP. IT Project Management is a big thing - the question is whether or not he explained how that would help him when he returns to Nigeria or what he plans to do on his return. I packaged my cousin’s application (I’m his sponsor) same undergrad course, same course at Winnipeg and he just got his passport request. Also, as someone else said here, all the reasons for denial point to finance. Let’s not be quick to jump to conclusions. I get where you are coming from. Project management is very very broad and he needs to explain that to the vo and how it relates to IT(most vos don't really know these things and when talking to them you have to break it down like you are talking to a novice). Also, I suggested while he is waiting for his gcms note he should work on how to convince the vo(in his sop) or go with the other options. His gcms note will give us more info about his refusal, but before then let him work on his SOP and other aspect of his app. NB: About what the other guy said, we all know that message is just a generic one. Only the gcms note will say what the reason for denial is. Let's wait for it |

Documents submitted:
All CIC forms Admission letter SOP School transcript Passport data page Sponsor’s letter (My sponsor is my Dad, 7m bal) Sponsors CAC document Sponsors letter of sponsorship Parent’s landed document and survey plan (Lagos)
Reason for Refusal:
Pursuant to paragraph 220(a) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the tuition fees for the course or program of studies that you intend to pursue.
Pursuant to paragraph 220(b) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to maintain yourself and any family members who are accompanying you during your proposed period of study.
Pursuant to paragraph 220(c) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the cost of transporting yourself and any family members who are accompanying you to and from Canada
My undergraduate course was Information Technology (studied in Ghana) and I'm currently serving.
My proposed course of study is Project Management (Post Degree Diploma) at UNIVERSITY OF WINNIPEG
I was introduced to the forum after my application and since then I've been scared of a refusal, well here is it. Is there anything left behind? What didn’t I do right? Please, I need suggestions guys.
All gurus I honestly crave your indulgence. should I reapply by tackling the above reasons or I request for a GCMS note while I defer my admission?
Thank you Sorry for the delay. First and foremost, I will advise you order your gcms note and defer your admission. Secondly, I feel there's no clear relationship between your bachelor's degree and intended PGD(except if have a very good and convincing reason for it). Try to get a master's admission in related field but if you can't then go for PGD course that's related to your Bsc then try to explain why you are going for PGD and not master's (there are so many reasons for that, shouldn't have to be because of low bsc grades ). NB: while trying to fix all these , make sure you order for your gcms note as you won't regret doing it. |

CIC is getting very very strick with applications from Nigeria as they are getting wiser by the day. As long as all your documents are authentic then no cause for alarm bro, they will surely stamp your passport. Hopefully between now and the mid-July they will return stamped passports to their owners (those without any issues). |

Congratulations to all those who recently got medical call and those who have gotten their TRV. Also to those who are waiting for CIC to return their stamped passports, big ups. For those still waiting to hear from CIC, don't give up (CIC will get back to you ASAP). For those who have heard from CIC but denied, try to order for your gcms note, repackage your app and refire(especially if you think you did somethings wrong in your previous app). For those who don't have enough funds to study in Canada and you have very good grades, try to seek funding from schools. For those who don't have enough funds and don't have good grades, try other countries for now(please don't ask me where as you can use Google to search that ). Have a blessed day |

So on the contrary print out the statement for a year and send it in. All the best. I have a strong feeling he used a fake/doctored statement of account (I might be wrong though), because if not he has no reason to be scared. |

I submitted my passport on a Friday being May24th.
Ever since then I haven’t heard from cic why the delay not until June 21st they contacted me about a fraudulent bank statement I used for my application. I have been given 10days to respond. Please what can I do, this is my 4th day and the time is fast ticking, I need help. I don’t want to be banned, I have even broadcasted about my traveling. This shame is gonna be too much on me. Has anyone ever excaped this issue before? Please gurus and non gurus your advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks @Frankrobbn1 @Qudom @Justmellow etc Between you and this forum, Is the statement of account FAKE or REAL? If it is not fake then you have nothing to be scared about, just reply CIC and let them know the statement isn't fake and you can include a letter from the bank as well to prove your claim. But if the statement is FAKE, sorry my brother there's nothing you can do about it than to face whatever CIC brings your way(might be 5 years ban) |

SOPWriter: A guy had a case similar to yours in part 14 or 15: go ahead with the application, the good thing is that you don't need Biometric from the UK, so, you can definitely apply from a foreign land but your passport submission will be in Nigeria, therefore, you will eventually touch your home country soil. As long as his UK study permit is valid he can apply and submit his passport over there. Once he is a legal resident in any part of the world he can apply and submit his passport there. |

I got admitted to SAIT Calgary & would be applying for study permit from the UK. Anyone done this before? Cic only requested for medicals on the 13th of June 2019 and my admission has already been cancelled cos I already deferred once and i don't have any admission pending. Should I go ahead and do medicals here in the usa without an admission letter available. Please what should I do. This is something I have waited literally 2years for cos my admission took 8 months before visa took a year approximately. Ur urgent response would be appreciated. And is there any guru that can send me their no so I can call them to discuss extensively on this. @Qudkom has said it all, to ahead and do your medical now, then contact the school you got admitted before and let them know CIC has asked for your medical which means your app will be approved soon. Tell them you will like to apply for another admission (you might not be asked to submit further documents since they already have it with them) but admission fee will be a must. Also you should try to apply to other schools just in case(to increase your chances). He fast about it because CIC should approved your app once they receive your medical result. Congratulations and good luck |

Cc mcobex, Frankrobbn1, Qudkom The best way for a third party to convince the vo is by either paying your tuition fee before you apply for TRV or transfer the entire funds + living expenses into your personal bank account. |

Qudkom: Socio-Economic Factors and Visa approvals
Recently the UK released an article warning her citizens on the dangers of coming to Nigeria on vacation or business grounds. They spoke immensely on the crime, unemployment, Terrorism etc. Issues burdening our beloved country.
Now my point is the effect of Globalisation ensures every country in the world understands the situation and usess the economic indicators in any particular country(population, Inflation, political instability, GDP etc) to verify how well they are doing.
They understand Nigerians are trying to escape. Forget about what you see in gcms note it is pretty much copy and paste this days. And the economic factors of the country also plays a huge role in visa approvals not to mention individual VO errors. What you see in your refusal letter, gcms et all is just 45% of the actual reason you were refused.
Like I mentioned in my previous post it as become extremely hard to get approved and forget about the advices you get here or what you read, there is a huge element of luck in getting approved this days. It is going to get harder to be Honest I just pray and hope it works out for you all really.
Please plan accordingly, work with what you have and not what worked for someone else. Be original and most importantly avoid rushing an application. When you get refused stop rushing to re-apply take your time to evaluate. Lastly, the most difficult time to apply for a Canadian trv is between June-August. There's just to many people applying and human fatigue, errors and so on also plays a huge factor.
All the best..... Even the UK have mouth to say Nigeria is not safe, SMH. London has one of the highest knife crime rate in the world why is no one saying anything about it? I don't blame them, but the kind of leaders with have had since independence. |

SetZ: Good evening pretty ladies and noble gentleman in the forum please am hear for some information for a very close relative
He started his application since January through an agent now for some time now the agent has been telling him that his admission was not out until last week finally the agent said its out from the university of Regina please this my questions First Is the school to send the admission later or is there an office in Nigeria where its been collected on their behalf
Please really need to find out how London does it take the school to actually release this said admission later
Please would appreciate a candid answer God bless us all Yes it is possible for admission to process to take some time, depending on so many factors. What academy session is your close relative admitted for? As for the admission letter, the school will send soft copy to his email address and send the hard copy to his Postal address, though some schools have representatives and they send it to the student through them. My advice is this, if the agent has given your relative the admission letter he can contact the school just to be sure of its authenticity. Lastly, let your relative come to this forum himself to get information, as what you are doing won't help him. He needs to know somethings himself and not people doing them for him |

Basically, my knowledge in my present field was gotten from on-the-job training, hence I intend to undergo a 2 year Diploma in Business Administration from one of the Canadian Colleges since I had no formal certification of HR/Admin profession. In my previous Study Application, my employer stood in as my sponsor and every doc needed to buttress the claim was submitted:
Company Statement of Account CAC TIN Cert. Study Leave Affidavit of Sponsorship Award of Study Assistantship letter Letter of Recommendation
Other doc submitted includes:
Tuition deposit receipt Personal Statement of Account reflecting a transfer of 2M made by my Employer, from the Company's Acct I submitted Birth Cert. Me & Children SOP Letter of Consent from hubby Survey plan/building Sketch of 2 buildings owned by hubby My Aged parent birth Cert & Retirement Cert 2 Vehicle docs Degree Cert NYSC Cert Official ID Card Letter of Employment Confirmation CV Passport Bio-data Page Change of name and N/P publication as regards Marriage Declaration I am interested in this case. Did your company state in their letter of support what they stand to gain from you after your program(why they are spending so much on you)? If they didn't then tell them to say " you have been one of the best staff in not just your department but the entire company, that they always reward their best staff with professional training so as to improve their knowledge and also improve the productivity of the company". The company should state what they stand to gain/profit from spending millions of Naira on a particular staff and how it will benefit you and the company. NB: Your profile looks very very good and if you can make very little twist to your app it should be granted. Good luck |

Dera12345: ORIGINAL PASSPORT REQUEST!!! (May applicant) Experience is truly the best teacher, and my Canadian Sucess story made me believe the saying “EVERY DISAPPOINTMENT IS A BLESSING”!!! I know very well my story will motivate or strengthen some people never to give up in whatever that interests them, pursue it desperately like your life depends on it!! Yes I mean it. Before I proceed, below is my timeline.
Online Application (2nd Application) Submitted May 9th (10:57pm) Upfront medicals passed on 11th June Correspondence letter (today by 10:12am) Original passport request (today by 10:32am)
This experience is my most difficult experience in life so far, I have always thought I can have anything I want in life but this Canada journey taught me that “Human beings can make any plans they want, but it’s God that decides their Sucess or failure”. I don’t even know where to begin from, but only God, Myself and @frankrobbn1 can tell my tragedy-comedy story. So exactly a year today 20th June 2018, I submitted a paper route application and It was refused within 4weeks based on family ties, purpose of visit , personal assets and financial assets. Meanwhile, I have a Bsc in Biochemistry with overall CGPA 4.15 and last two year CGPA 4.71 , going for 2year diploma, paid tution fee $8,880cad. when I received my refusal letter, I cried that very day like never before and till date my first refusal date 18th July,2018 still remains the worst day of my life, and the agent my parents used was just after money. After crying, knowing how bad i needed to leave this country I woke from my comfort zone and began my personal research, this was how I came across this wonderful forum and started reading up!
Through this wonderful platform I met an angel in human form, a motivator, my soulmate and my support system @frankrobbn1, may God bless you richly for me. Frank took his time to explain the errors in my application starting from advising me to secure a masters admission and that is nearly impossible to convince a VO on why diploma and not masters considering my high Gp, and secondly that my application is as empty as anything, I didn’t even submit my family’s information, no assets declared, no employment evidence and so on.
So I began my admission hunt and the devil started his work. Almost all the schools offering my course/ or related course requires a supervisor , and you know how difficult securing a supervisor can be. Some schools I contacted will tell me pump and play that I must identify a supervisor before applying while some will tell me to apply that they will assign me a supervisor once am admitted! I fell to their tricks and lost my application fee, I also tried contacting supervisors all kept turning me down. I kept sending countless mails to different supervisors in different universities all to no avail, some would always come up late with their negative mails of not having space in their lab while some will totally ignore me. I got feed up and I decided to stop sending mails but to call them on phone at least to get a straight forward response rather than waiting for their response that takes weeks and at the end must be negative. I made it as one of my daily activities to call at least 10 supervisors daily, and I did this for months!!! Even the ones that later accepted to supervise me though without funding just all of a sudden will deny even knowing me after I have submitted my application hoping I have secured a supervisor.
In general, I applied to 6 different universities in a space of 8months and all turned me down. I kept asking myself who did I offend? who is after my progress? Through this same wonderful forum I met a very nice fellow @agronat. Immediately he posted about him securing a masters admission with funding, i pm him to put me through, and that was how I realized the vital points/information missing out in my application and the reasons behind my refusals regardless of my high scores. And today am glad that my finally attempt landed me a full fulled scholarship worth $38,076CAD at BROCK UNIVERSITY ONTARIO , 2 years MSc in Biotechnology. Big thanks to @frankrobbn1 for recommending Brock University to me. I nearly craze that day (April 18th, 2019)!!! NB: the scholarship covers my tution and living expenses with extra left, I was also guaranteed a graduate assistantship position. Isn’t God great? This was when I realized that God was preparing something greater for me.
Fast forward to my visa application, guru @frankrobbn1 finished work.. I personally wrote my SOP and LOE, but when frank was done reviewing it I couldn’t recognize my LOE and SOP .. lol, he reconstructed it and was even using the VO’s terms to address every issue. He sold me well and also left the Change for the Visa officer to keep. I can’t thank you enough.., even after I submitted my visa application he took me to a church where I was given 4 days dry fasting and prayers (something I have never done in my life). I’m not the churchious type but this journey brought me closer to God and will forever remain grateful. I will be traveling to lagos next week to submit my passport and at the same time celebrate this wonderful journey that ended well. Seriously my sleep tonight will be very special after one year of dreaming of CANADA Lol, and to @justwise thanks for making this platform possible.
Below are the list of documents I submitted with my application: Father sponsor.

Even though I know my application is a little bit tight, I still handed it over to God because I have seen better applications refused, or the acceptance quota being reached as rumored on the forum,I said to God that they will bang the door when it’s my time to enter, I prayed against errors which can come from the VO leading to common refusals, lol, I prayed against bad mood on the head of the VO handling my application. Prayer is the Key.
I wish all TRV hopefuls SUCCESS!!! Congratulations Dera |

thesoj: An eight-page SOP is just too long and the VO probably didn't read it, or got confused reading it. In my view, the only way a VO would read such a lengthy SOP is (a) you have a concise TL DR on the first page OR (b) your writing is like Chimamanda prose.
An eight-page SOP is a sign to the VO that you have not yet figured out your reasons for wanting to study in Canada. Welcome back ORACLE . It's been a while |

Luckymama: Please I need some opinions on my plan. My first degree is in law. But for the past 3 years I have been running a nursery school, and to be frank I have no interest in going back to law as a profession. I really want to apply for a diploma in early childhood education. But I am worried because: 1. It is not a post graduate diploma but an advanced diploma I.e no progression. 2. Some parts of the diploma can be done as stand alone courses online to get a Certificate in early childhood education. I fear the VO May wonder why I want to incur the additional expense of moving to Canada when I can access the certificate online. My plan: 1. Apply for a master’s in Education. When I get to Canada, change to the diploma in the same institution. The reason why I would rather do the diploma than a masters is that the diploma is actually more relevant to the field of early childhood education which I am passionate about. And the diploma has a practicum (teaching practice) element which I feel is more relevant to my school business than the masters which is all theoretical.
Please I need some opinions on this. Sorry for the long post. Qudkom. Naijaforeigner. Bracha. Sillysassysally please what do you guys think. I have seen a case like this before (I think about a year ago or more) and she got her TRV. Hope your nursery school is registered? If yes, then you can explain deeply why you want to switch fully from law (tell them your new passion is to work full time with kids), also show your achievements during these past 3 years working with kids(it will go a long way). You can also try the much safer route by getting masters in education then switch once you get to Canada. Using your nursery school and family as home-tie will also be good, tell them you need the Canadian experience to help you build a better and more efficient school (your school) for the kids in your community and Nigeria at large. NB: Though some VOs can be a pain in the ass but few are very understanding. The main problem is they see every applicant from Nigeria and some few countries (whose economy aren't doing so well) as trying to use study to run away, that's why you have to go extra miles to convince them that you will return to manage your school (business) after your program. Good luck |

Seems CIC just requested for medical from you, it is a very good sign. Rush to the nearest approved medical center ASAP and do your medical. Congratulations |

holllowu: I got an admission to Algonquin College, my payment deadline is 28th of this month, if I don't meet up my sit would be given to someone else. Last week Friday I went to my bank (Zenith) to do a payment to flywire, in the invoice I printed from flywire, they said the payment reference would be made avaliable till 18th of June which was yesterday. Zenith bank just debited my account yesterday. Only for me to login to my Zenith mobile app to notice the funds wer converted to USD, I called their customer care this morning, they said it was still in process, ND some other bullshits. Am really confused now. I need your help on what to do now What is your question? If it is about the bank charging you in USD then you shouldn't worry about it. Send the transfer details to your school immediately to let them know you made payment and wait for their response. |
