Morning wonderful people.
In the case of a re-application, how do I introduce a previous job( paediatric clinic) that I had as an intern for a year and a full employee for a year before moving to my current job. I tried getting a reference before my first app but they didn't give me. Now they have decided to write me one whenever am ready.
Thanks for your anticipated input. @frankrobbn,mcobex,bracha,qudkom and co...
I don't think you need a reference letter from your previous employer, since you are working with another company try to get from them and also include your new employment letter, promotion letter (if any), payslip/statement of account, ID card.
About how to introduce your previous place of work, I think it should be in a normal way, no specific way to go about it

No he hasn’t ordered for his gcms note. If he is unable to resume in September 2019, he will be unable to renew his scholarship. So we are trying to apply again . I know it is not the wisest step to take by not getting the gcms note. We are using his son and my old parents as home ties as well as a small business he runs. All these weren’t stated in his initial application though.
Okay, it should work this time. Good luck to him

Please I need some suggestions concerning my brother’s application from the gurus in the house. He has a scholarship of $5000 and a TA position of $5k totaling $10k as what he will be given per year for two years. As part of a means to solve his refusal on the basis of personal asset and financial status, we are considering paying his first year tuition fee of $6k then he ll submit his bank statement of about N5m. To our calculation, he ll have $10k + 5m for his first year of study. This is because the scholarship and TA will be paid in instalments every month for the duration of the study. Please advise if this arrangement makes sense. Or should we leave the $6k in his dollar acct?
PS: he is married with a kid. Thanks a lot for your responses
I don't think the issue here is fund related, any of the above steps you decide to take will be good. Has he ordered for his gcms note? just to be sure why he was delayed. I have a strong feeling he wasn't able to convince the vo on home-tie and personal asset, I will advise he uses his son as his home-tie. He can say that he loves his son so so much and can't stay far away from him for long, so he has enough reason to go back to Nigeria after study to be with his son. Also, other family members can be use as hometie as well, but let him talk more about his son in this case

No the $10k doesn’t cover all of my tuition, still got to pay 4k for the first year but my moms account has about 9-10 million in it
Hoping that’s enough
So it means you need at least additional $14,000($4,000 for tuition balance and $10,000 for your living expenses). So do the conversion to naira and see what you have. You mum should also try to show her source of fund(business, job....) so as to let the vo know she can continue sponsoring you beyond the first year(that's if your program is more than a year). Apart from that I think you are good to go

Hello guys, please what would happen if someone applys for a study permit on a passport that expires May next year? What are the chances of a pregnant lady getting the visa.
You don't have issues with the passport, you will get your TRV but when you get to Canada you won't be given sturdy permit beyond your passport expiry date. Bur don't worry as once you renew your passport you can go back to cic to extend your permit.
For the pregnancy case, I think some applicants have gotten their TRV with it. It also depends if you want to make it known to cic that you are pregnant, If you do then make sure you let them know how you intend to cope with the pregnancy while studying because it won't be an easy task combining both. Others with more experience should please talk more about this

To the experienced people here, pls I'm on the verge of submitting my study permit application. I have a close tie sponsor(my brother) with sufficient fund for my masters application. My questions are:
(1) If it makes any difference that he transfers the money into my account or it may remain in his account while I only present his bank statement.
(2) since I am being sponsored, is it necessary that I provide my bank account statement too?

Pls your authoritative replies are highly appreciated.
Are you working now or have you been working after your bachelor's? if yes then I will advise you submit your own personal statement of account together with that of your sponsor.
As for whether he should transfer funds to you, since he is your bliss brother he doesn't have to but I always advise sponsors to transfer funds to the applicant's account as that way the vo knows the funds is readily available.
NB: Try to submit your account and that of your sponsor

pls any difference in online and paper application fee?
There some differences between both, but their processing time is the same .
Online/paper.
1. You get to keep your passport when you apply until when TRV is ready(online), while you submit your passport on the day or applying (paper).
2. There's a limit to the amount of documents to be uploaded file(s) size shouldn't exceed 4MB(online), while there's no limit of documents to submit (paper)
3. After applying you will wait for biometric mail before you can go to the nearest VFS centre do it(online), while you get to do biometric same day you submit your app
3. It is more comfortable as you can apply in the comfort of your room/house(online), while you have to go to VFS office very early due to the expected crowd(paper).
4. More expensive and might even increase due to the exchange rate for that day(online) , while the fee is fixed and less expensive compared to online route (paper).

Hi everyone good evening, I’ve been following this thread for quite a while now and only decided to post now because I’m in a dilemma.
So I got admitted to U OF M for a masters in human rights, I’m an International Relations graduate by the way, attached to this admission I got $10,000 scholarship and I’m about to submit my visa application since I’m suppose to resume this September, just found out yesterday. I’m confused on what method of application to do, whether online or paper cos I feel like the online application might take time. I’ve worked on all the things I need
SOP
POLICE CHARACTER CERTIFICATE
BANK STATEMENT (getting it on Tuesday)
EMPLOYMENT DETAILS
MY MOMS LANDED DOCUMENTS (she’s also my sponsor)
BIRTH CERTIFICATE SHOWING I AND MY MOMS RELATIONSHIP BECAUSE SHE CHANGED HER NAME AFTER MY DAD DIED
I really need y’alls advice on which way to go because if I miss this opportunity (hopefully not) I would be hurt beyond words
Can’t defer cos the program is a September intake only and scholarship is only valid for fall 2019 so I have to leave in September and I also forgot to mention it’s a new program and department we are the first ones.
Thank you
Does the $10,000 cover your entire tuition fee? That aside, make sure the funds in your mum's account is enough to cover your living expenses and others. If you have a bank account I will advise you include it as well. Work on your SOP (sell yourself to the vo there).
As for the route, there's no difference between online and paper with regards to processing time, so do whichever is comfortable for you. Also try to do upfront medical because of time and submit the papers/receipts that will be issued at the clinic. Good luck

Hello Mcobex,

Sometimes, transcript also play a part contribution in doing some easy/clear convicing especially in the situation were an applicant's prospect course or program shows no (direct) progression or in a perspective of trying to make a (an extra) convincing case or statement about certain areas of the applicant's academic performance or track record. It could also play a role of the applicant being seen as a genuine student if the VO decides to assess the applicant from an academic perspective, depending on the logical reasons or format the applicant use to build the application.

BTW irrespective of the resources to get a transcript, in my personal opinion, i would advise applicants to not feel relunctant to include it even if people has gotten approval without including it.

We never know the least document that might be the saving grace

Respect!
Yes very correct, but I feel his case is straight forward enough for his SOP to do the convincing.

Please house is it compulsory to show landed property since i have my business registered under CAC . Is that not enough for family ties ? Though I have a land that was given to me from my dad as inheritance so I can't go that far to do the C of O which cost a lot and take years to get from the government. How will I use other means to add the land as home ties . Or other way I can package it with proof or I should go on with the business CAC certificate.
You can get any document to show the land belongs to you, doesn't have to be C of O.

Good afternoon house.

Please, I just got a medical request for my application.
However, the date available from Qlife is currently 2nd July after I sent them the request letter now. IOM is yet to get back to me.

I don't know if anyone has an earlier date that was booked prior to the date that we can swap.

Thank you.
The last time I checked seems you don't need to book an appointment for Children's practice clinic, all you need is get there as early as possible (7:00am). you can contact them to confirm

Hello e-family, Please I need the advise of the GURU's in the house. I did paper application for SOWP on the 15th of Feb'19. I got a medical request on the 13th of May. Successfully sent the medical e-copy back to them that same day since I did up-front medical. Got Biometric validation mail on the 23rd of May. I was able to link my application online and saw that Medical was past on the 15th of May. I have not heard from them since then and my status still reads we are processing your application.
My worry now is..how long will it take to hear from them since they have my passport.
We had already planned a trip this summer to the UK for a family event on the 24th of July and we have valid visa.
Today makes the application 17weeks.
Would it be advisable to write or just wait and believe that we will get our passport back before that date.
Thanks for your usual response.
Your app is almost ready but you can politely send them a reminder message

hello brothers and sisters,

A study permit application was submitted last month and the applicant will stay in the campus so the letter of $40 non-refundable campus accommodation application fee was also submitted.

Now school demanded confirmation deposit of $400 to secure the room for the fall semester and this has been paid now and letter of accommodation deposit confirmation issued.

Please my question is do I need to email this document to cic or its not important since they have the $40 application fee letter. If am to email, to which email address please.

Thanks.
Please send it to cic ASAP. you can get the email address from their site or search here to get it(it's been posted already)

Transcript is not important for visa application. Just include your statement of result and you are good to go. CIC will not deny you TRV because you didn't include your transcript, you results will cover up for that

Heyyyy I am seeing another thing again... Please what is the difference BTW LOE and SOP? Are you saying both should be in one study visa application?
Did you read my post about LOE at all? SOP is an applicant's way of explaining his/her application to the visa officer because CIC won't organise interviews for applicants, it is basically to explain things that might not be too clear to the vo (that's the only job your SOP plays), so if you think your application is simple and very easy to understand you don't need an SOP(so many people have applied without it and got their TRV).
Letter Of Explanation (LOE): For this, it is best to include it when you have been denied before, so you basically use it to explain the reason(s) for your previous denial only. Just a way of drawing the Bo's attention that you have been able to tackle the issues raised by them in tow previous application.
NB: like I said above, it is not compulsory to include any of these if you think your application is straight forward. The choice is yours

Good day all.
This issue of reapplication especially the LOE and the SOP sometimes becomes confusing. Some applicants write only one SOP or LOE as the case may be. Some write both. My question is which one comes first in that client information section. Secondly, what are the contents of an LOE and SOP?
Thirdly, if they should be separate, does the SOP need a heading like "STATEMENT OF PURPOSE "? Cos applicants that are reaplplying are advised to tackle the reasons on the refusal letter first before introducing the SOP. Cos these are things that often become ambiguous for a reapplying candidate .
@Mcobex, frankrobbn and co pls shed some light on this.
Thanks
I advise applicants reapplying to include LOE to the SOP. LOE should be use to address the reason(s) for previous denial(has to be detailed). But first time applicant can use only SOP.
Yes the heading can be "Statement of purpose".

Please gurus in the house i need your help and input in reviewing my SOP for reapplication.
Reason for refusal is purpose of visit.
I read petroleum engineering first and second degree and want to go for environmental engineering PhD but it is domiciled in civil engineering in the school.
I want to show career progression..
Try to explain how Petroleum engineering is related to Environmental engineering to the vo, it should be well detailed (cos these VOs don't really know these things so you have to present it like you are explaining to a novice). All these should be in a separate LOE(apart from your SOP). Also, make sure you talk about your funding. i.e your LOE should be about your funding and how related petroleum engineering and environmental engineering are(shouldn't be hard at all)

Show proof that the sponsor really your mum's sister (anything that shows they have same surname). Also, it's not just about her account balance but how much of it she is committing towards your study.
Secondly, she is a third party and as such she needs to show commitment by paying the amount she wants to support you with into your personal bank account or go further to pay your tuition fee(that's if your school is asking for it before you can apply for TRV).
Lastly, I noticed you didn't include your own statement of account (only your payslip), was it a mistake? Since you have been working it is advisable to include your own personal statement of account (no matter how little you have in it). Good luck
