Good morning bro,

Since I was denied in 2017,I lost interest in travelling to Canada for study because it takes a long time to get a decision on visa application.
But now I am ready to try again, I want to do GIS in my Pgd at Niagara College. Or can you suggest a nice university that can accept a 2.2 of 3.16 cgpa in environmental management related course.
I can't suggest any university, but I know most universities pay more attention to your last 2 years or so in the university (so don't be too bothered about your 2.2). Use Google to search for schools offering your proposed course, then you can email them to know more about their admission process and requirements.
Good luck

Thanks. Will see how the pm works and will do
I have gone through your profile and there's nothing wrong in it. These VOs are humans and sometimes have a bad day, so it is very possible your application got to a VO on one of his/her bad days. I bet if you apply again with same profile you will get your TRV, this time try to include LOE(letter of explanation). In this letter draw the attention of the VO to the reasons they denied for you and let them know you have all those ticked (even in your last app).
Good luck in your next app.
NB: I have seen so many cases where people are denied and they reapplied(without adding or removing any document) and are given TRV. Don't touch anything in your present profile, don't

Who called my name? It's been a while since I contributed here. After one year of my application pending, it was finally denied. Good news is its only based on purpose of visit and GCMS stated I graduated from the University in the USA since 2006 and never attended any more school since then until now, so they are not convinced I would be a genuine student. Sincerely I expected worst. So I intend to revamp and refire addressing their concerns. I am enjoying Nigeria a lot and my new job. That is why I have not been here sorry. But promise to be returning from time to time to give free information and help. Miss you guys. This forum taught me a lot and I am glad I was able to give back and helped a lot of people here go to Canada during my time here full time so called gurusmiley
Wow! So so sorry bro. This CIC guys are not well at all. Keep pushing bro

Hello everyone,

Please, I need to confirm something.
My financial sponsor (who is my older sister) provided 2 treasury bill investments which she stated in her letter that she has set aside the money for my studies in Canada. She has also paid my first-year tuition fees.
she has a letter of introduction from her employer and 6months salary account statement.
My question is that, does she need to provide proof showing that she has other investments apart from these 2 treasury bills investmentshuhhuh
If she can it will be great. Good luck

Tuition =$7k,
Available cash for d program = $ 65K,
I have a sponsor,

Family in Naija.
Sorry for late response.
How much of the $65k did your sponsor committed towards your studies?
I always advise applicants (with work experience) to also include their own SOA(just to show you also saved some cash on your own towards your studies, no matter how small). Also, if the sponsor is a third party (not parents, or siblings) I advise he/she either pays your tuition fee or transfer the said amount into your personal account (to show the funds will be available when it's time to travel).
Concerning your home-tie, try to convince the VO why you will return back to Nigeria after your studies. These might be but not limited to investments, family properties, potential job after graduation in Nigeria.....
NB: Like someone said, you have to work on your sop and if possible include an LOE(letter of explanation) detailing the reasons for your previous delay and how you corrected them.
Good luck

Good day house, pls i need proper interpretation to this GCMS note, thnks and God blesss.
Pls Note: I studied Chemical Engr (1st degree) and i applied for masters in chemical engr. Working as a chemical engr. in an oil and gas company.

Previous travel not sufficiently demonstrated. Considering relevance of program, applicant’s travel history, available assets/funds, family ties and reasons to return to home country for general establishment in the home country. Given the PA’s assets /available funds I am not, satisfied it is logical given the cost of studying in Canada. I am not satisfied the course of study makes sense given PA’s history and education which leads to concerns the PA’s is leveraging the SP program as an entry to Canada and not for academic reasons. I am not satisfied that PA’s is sufficiently established to motivate them to leave CDA at the end of an authorized stay.
This can be divided into two
1.
Fund/personal asset: How much was the tuition fee, How much did you have available for your program? Are sponsoring yourself or you have a sponsor (if yes, how much did he/she commited towards your program?).
2. Hometies:
Which of your family members are in Nigeria? Do you or you family have any business or asset in Nigeria?
Answer these questions so I can give my little understanding of the situation.

hello guys, please I'm new here and want to start my journey for a student visa.
Just concluded my MSc in Civil Engineering and would love to have a second degree in Public Health.
What do I need to know?
Who do I need to know?
Honestly I've been trying to read the full thread of PART 15

PLEASE HELP
You stand a better chance going for PhD in your related field (civil engineering) or a second MSc in civil engineering (chances not as much as they of PhD). It will be almost impossible to get TRV going for public health with the kind of profile you have.
Your best bet is PhD (if you package your app well you have a 95% chance of getting TRV).
Good luck

From my little knowledge, there are two factors: your GPA for the last two years and if you have work experience in your chosen field of study. As for the particular universities, I'm not sure about that. Just Google Canadian universities individually and check their requirements. If you're looking specifically for low cost universities, the pic attached can guide you.
Congratulations to you all those that recently got their TRV.

If you have any document that you feel will help your casein getting TRV feel free to send it to CIC and it will be considered.

I disagree with you on that note;because I have a friend who got approved with a BSC and he went for a diploma in Welding;he studied physics.
So what do you have to say about that ?
He said "Likely". The thing is , an applicant with Bsc stands a better chance of getting TRV with am MSc application than diploma (especially of he/she is applying from Nigeria).
NB: There's nothing God can't do though

Guys Please I need your input on this
This is my first post

So I have a compound surname, (example "Micheal Jacob"wink
And this is the way it's written on my international passport (with the space in between)
It is also written like that on my Bsc certificate.

But on every other document, there is a hyphen in between. (ie "Micheal-Jacob"wink including my transcript

So I have 3 options and 1 question, pls help.

1. Change the name on the passport to add the hyphen (or remove one name, and also do the same for other documents, bvn etc)

2. Leave it like that and apply for school with the name on my passport

3. Attempt to change my other docs, eg bvn, transcript to the name on my passport

Question: Do I need my certificate for much or is my transcript enough for all the school application

Thanks for your input
You don't have any problem here. work with what the two most important documents have (passport and Bsc cert). The one on your transcript won't be an issue, but I don't know which other documents have the "hyphen" in between. But if any, you can get an affidavit from a law court stating the correct spelling is what you have on your international passport and Bsc cert. Just this will be enough for you. No need to waste money trying to change the name on your passport

You are right though. God help Nigeria. My prayer is that everyone will one day experience a working system.

What I meant by less is more is, sometimes the more information we give, the more they scrutinize. I know people have been denied visas citing lack of sufficient funds as a reason, people with 100million in their account have also been refused visa, no one size fits all. I thought about getting a statement of all my accounts but thought against it. I personally(my opinion)wouldn't use an acct with say 100 million or even 50 million in it to apply for a student visa. If I was a VO I would say to myself "this person is trying too hard" Again, that's just me ooo.

By the way my niece is in Nigeria.
I get your point . May God see our great nation through

JennyKadry2:
Hi,

1. I am her sponsor. She is my niece
2. She paid nothing. Not a cent. Hang on, I think we only paid application fee(100CAD or so) for the course but no fees no nothing
3. One thing I have learned in my years in obodo oyibo is sometimes less is more. I only showed proof of 1 yr tuition/ living expenses as per their requirement. To answer your question, her one year living expenses/tutition e.t.c is about 6.5 million Naira. I had that amount in one of my accounts so I used that account. I did not provide statements of all my bank accounts. Just the one

I printed out bank statement online and submitted. No bank stamp on the statement just regular online statement
Yeah, sometimes "less is more". CIC don't scrutinize applications from outside Nigeria (or countries whose economy is doing well) like they do to those from Nigeria. CIC sees almost every applicant applying from Nigeria as someone trying to run away from the country. There use to be a time when once an applicant from Nigeria pays his/her tuition fee is guaranteed TRV but now paying tuition fee doesn't guarantee TRV. Even some people with full scholarship get. delayer due to fund(you can imagine).
May God see our country (Nigeria ) through

Thank you very much. Please, regarding the travel history, is there anything I can do asides traveling to a different country first? Also, how do I prove to them that I would come back to the country after my program. What other advice would you give me in order for me to have a better chance of securing the visa.
Travel history is not really a problem, it just tags along other reasons. Try to tackle the other reasons and travel history will disappear (so many people have gotten their TRV without traveling anywhere before).
About the issue of returning after your studies, that's where home tie(can be investments...) comes into play. Also potential job opportunities back in Nigeria is another good reason for you to return.

Please I really need an answer to this huh
If you have enough time I would advise you allow her application to be treated first. If she gets approval then you can apply for spousal (instead of study permit) which will benefit you more.
Though it is still possible to apply for TRV almost together but I won't advise that. NB: MY PERSONAL OPINION

Hello Sir/ Ma.

Please, in case my sponsor transfer my living expenses which is about 5M into my account, will I need to print a statement of that particular transaction or a six month statement showing my previous transaction plus the new balance?

Thanks.
between 4-6 months SOA is needed(it has to include the latest transaction). Also you and your sponsor should state the transaction in your SOP and sponsorship letter respectively so as to tackle the issue of lump sum.

Hi Nairalanders,
I have been accepted to study MSC @Mcgill University Quebec for fall 2019. I have been told to apply for Quebec Acceptance Certificate for studies which will take a minimum of 21days bf I get approval before I will start my visa application. Based on comments I have been reeding here,I dont know whether the Quebec Acceptance certificate for international students will delay my visa procceses .I have an option to defer the admission to winter 2020 .Please,I need advice from gurus and samples of SOP ....my email is selemoalex@rediffmail.com
You have enough time to apply for your Quebec acceptance cert and also apply for your TRV. Fall is still very far(about 8 months).
NB: You don't have to drop your email for people to contact you with the info you seek.

Wait .. I hope you are not trying to come to Canada, get jobs and think of paying your fees via those jobs? For me to give you proper advice, I hope it is not Ontario, London you are coming to? I am not saying it is impossible but make sure you ask the right questions and know the exact province/territory you should be.

You cannot make 2000CAD monthly after tax as a student who is new in Canada except you work more than 20 hours a week. Why would you want to break the law when you can become a PR in 3 years? It is not worth it.

My advice for any hustler is bring money along for your fees and extra change (at least for first semester), don't come during winter because getting jobs for hustlers (if you know what i mean) is harder during winter, choose the right school (make sure they accept installments and you have an idea of duration), province and city. Your location matters a lot if you know you are a hustler. You will understand better when you get to Canada.

Asides fees, there are some modules they will tell you to register for online and you have to pay. I currently have a module where I have to pay 123CAD for online and it is compulsory because there are assignments I need to submit via the site.

Also, choose the right programs. Most Programs with Co-op allows you to work for up to 8 months or even a year. You get paid and work full time after completing 2 semesters with a good CGPA (please confirm from your school the terms and conditions of their coop). This is good because you earn while schooling and get the Canadian work experience as well.

God help us all.
You have said it all bro. I always advise people to make sure they have enough cash to cover at least first year tuition and living expenses (at least), cos most people think it is very easy to work as a student(without breaking the law) and still be able to pay tuition fee & living expenses from it. Also, they might even get the job but academic stress won't give them the time to do the job.

Good luck

Please, I would like to ask...
What advice would you give to someone who wants to sponsor themselves? With a bank balance of 15k cad. Would this be an advantage or must you have a sponsor different from oneself?

Thanks
Self sponsorship is a good thing as long as the fund(15k cad) will be enough to take care of your studies (tuition , living expenses....)

You mean applying without any statement of account? If your answer is yes, then it is not possible. You statement of account shows the VO you have enough resources to carter for yourself and pay your tuition (that's if you aren't using any sponsor). But if you are using a sponsor and he/she will be providing all the funds then you might scale through (but I also advise applicants that are working to also include their personal SOA).
