Greetings Bosses, you guys are doing a terrific job here. I was a silent follower on this thread for long but I reached out to guys here when my first TRV application was refused back in July. My second application has just been approved. We Bless God!

Here's my timeline:

M.Eng (Electrical Engineering, MUN)

1st Application: May 5th, 2017 (Paper route), linked it online.
Refused: July 7th, 2017 (Insufficient Funds for tuition fees, Purpose of Visit, & Travel History)
Ordered GCMS Notes immediately and it arrived on August 9th, 2017. VO said i was being sponsored by a third party (my cousin), limited evidence of relationship on file, limited travel history and weak evidence of personal financial establishment.

Meanwhile, it was a fully funded admission, i had to stress that in my second application while also tackling the above reasons.

Second Application: August 28th, 2017 (Paper route), linked it online.
Medical passed like three weeks later (same upfront medical i used for the first application)
Application updated November 14th, 2017. Approved (I checked my profile the night before (13th) and review of eligibility had not started)

Special shout out to @Thesoj; As soon as i got my admission in March 2017, one of my guys in Canada advised me to read all your posts from the beginning and i did, very enlightening. Thanks Boss.

Very big thank you to @Maziude 1 of Ottawa who reviewed my LoE and pointed out areas where i sounded desperate, Lol. Thanks Boss!

Special thanks to @Austinpee4, @Mcobex & @Jnyuwa02 for their inputs and advice on how to tackle my refusal reasons. I'm grateful.

I believe my Scholarship was overlooked in the review of my first application because of the way i filled the financial section of my first application form but @Osemigho's post on that subject ensured that i didn't make the same mistake twice. Thank you bro!

I'm happy to answer any questions and to help anybody in need of some guidance.

Cheers Bosses.
Congratulations bro, go and make us proud in St John's. MUN is waiting for you

That's the thing. Mothers going should research daycare Centres and schools near the University. Write to them to demand a space for your child/children. I did all that and got 2 daycare centres willing to accept us. In my case, my children have been attending school since they were 3 months. They are used to classroom setting . I cited that too. So it would not pose any challenge.

There's no way on Earth, I would concentrate on my studies if my children are in Nigeria while I'm in Canada. Depression will set in walahi!
This lady's case is different as she is using a third party as sponsor, so if she includes her two children the financial burden will be much on the sponsor which will in turn affect her application. I still say that she should explain and tell the vo that her husband and no mum will take good care of the children while she is away and to seal everything that husband and if possible the mum should write letter of support that the children will be in good care with them. SHIKENA

justwise:
The wellbeing of your kids comes first and in Canada and other western worlds children wellbeing are a priority.

Your ambition to pursue your education in detriment of your young kids is actually wrong. At this age they need you more than anyone else and no matter how high you attend in terms of education and career if you are not there for those kids at this tender age then those achievements means nothing.

No matter how ambitious you are if you don't factor-in your kids in your planing then you haven't started.

Tell me this..what will happen if you don't travel to Canada now for studies? Will you lose your job? Starve or unable to look after your family?
I disagree with you on this bro. She is using a third party as sponsor so any move for her to include her children will be a RED FLAG, I will advise she applies without them and state that she wants to concentrate on studies and that her husband and mother/mother-in-law will be the ones taken care of the children while she is away. Her husband should also write a letter stating he is fully in support of the move

JayFaddy:
I want to be able to concentrate fully on my studies hence my reason for leaving them behind. I'm also using a sponsor and its not logical having someone sponsor my kids and I.
What do u advise?
You are right to leave them behind since you are not sponsoring yourself. A well structured sop will do justice to that(that you want to fully concentrate on studies that's why you intend going alone, that your husband and your mum or his mum will be taking credit of the children while you are away..... your husband should also write a letter stating he supports the idea.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by mcobex: 5:34pm On Nov 08, 2017
@10shuare Which school is that? cos I don't think that's 100% true(they must have another option). The thing is your tuition fee can be refunded to you but only on the condition that you were denied trv (which we don't pray for), once you can show proof of the denial your tuition fee will be sent back to you. though some schools will collect some charges from it but it won't be much. Another way is you make sure you have all the funds under your care (in your own bank account )even if it means you opening a dorm account and explain to the vo why you have taken such move, also let the vo know you are ready to make payment once you get the go-ahead. NB: Any school that doesn't refund tuition fee at all will not ask you to pay for it until after trv has been approved, so ask your school to clarify what they meant by that

All the people I know have been filling that column with their entire amount available for them for the duration of their studies and rightfully so because that is the question asked. Yours for one year is a pretty novel idea. Don't you think these people understand the law and if what is really meant is funds for a year, they would have stated so on the question unequivocally and in no uncertain terms? I am confident based on my knowledge of the law that what they are asking is not a year. If they meant a year, the way they asked the question would have left them vulnerable to litigation at a Canadian federal court and that person who sues them will win.
Cc:Austeenpee. Both of you are correct in your own way. The issue of showing funds for 1 year or the entire duration of program is as simple as this : if the student is sponsoring himself then the vo will expect him to provide funds for the entire program (just to show he doesn't need to work to survive after the first year) but if the applicant is using a sponsor then he can show funds for just the FIRST year, this is why the vo will like to see what sponsor is doing(source of income) so as to know if he can keep up sponsoring the applicant after the 1st year. Another one is if the applicant is using a sponsor and the sponsor is well loaded (enough to cover the entire duration of the program at once) then he CA. show funds for the entire program. If I am someone's sponsor and I have $1million in my account (though that's enough to carter for the entire duration of any applicant's study ) but that's not what I am PLEDGING for the applicant's study.

Good luck to the list of hopefuls.

I was shocked too.
Again make sure you have added more documents especially if you can get one from your prospective supervisor. This could help to facility.
Welcome back bro, how's studies going so far?

My uncles account balance wasn't 250mil. The 257 and 251 was just inflow and outflow. He is a businessman and the business involves buying and selling.

Thanks. point noted
In other word your uncle's closing balance was #7mil. Well from everything said I haven't see where you mentioned the out your uncle and mom pledged, I mean the amount each of them will be putting towards your studies for the first year. Things like that have to be spelt out thoroughly. Issue of funds is easily tackled, just make sure you dot all the i's and cross the t's this time.

Do MUN accept student copies of Transcript?

I thought the school was supposed to be the sender. Please illuminate me.

Thank you.
schools only use student's copy to process your admission (in the case where the official didn't get to them on time) pending when the official one from your school gets to them, but what the guy above meant is people find a way to collect the official copy from their school then send it on behalf of the school(use the name of the school as sender) that's because it takes some schools ages to forward your transcript even though you have paid for it to be sent

Boss, Guten Morgen!

i presume you are in MUN Already, How is the school like? Do they really Accept Second class Lower Cgpa from Nigeria? With well packaged Application?

Awaiting your reply smiley
I am still in Nigeria, but my friend that graduated from MUN said the school is isn't bad at all. As for 2:2 it is hard but not impossible. The school pay more attention to you final 2-3 semesters, so if you performed well there you stand a better chance. Again cases defer, just make sure you get the attention of a supervisor via your statement of purpose and you will good to go. Best of luck

Since you have MSc then go for PhD , you can get full funding for it but will have to search for schools offering your intended program so you can make contact
