Hello Everyone.

Am a prospective Undergraduate student of Memorial University of Newfoundland,Canada.

Have submitted all the necessary supporting Documents to the School but having a problem with the English Language Proficiency Test Score since my TOEFL IBT Test Score was not up their minimuim required score.

Please can someone tell me what will be my fate if i will be admitted or not?

Please i need advice from those who have gone through such suituations both those in MUN present and those in naija.

THANKS and awaits your advices and answers.
MUN will be in a better position to tell you if you qualify for admission or not. Concerning the English language proficiency, cases defer. When I applied for admission I was admitted without sitting for any English exam, all I did was get a letter from my previous school stating I was taught in English language during my program and that worked. A friend of mine(in this same thread) didn't have same luck this year as he was asked to provide a result. So your case can only be judge by MUN alone

PLEASE OOOOOOOOHHH!! MY HELPER(S). HOW DO I GO ABOUT GETTING A PERSONAL COPY OF MY SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT FROM UNILAG. SINCE ITS AMONG THE LIST OF DOCUMENTS I'M TO UPLOAD ONLINE DURING MY TRV APPLICATION
Try and apply for a student copy but if your school don't give that out then I will advise you use a friend or family member's company address to apply for it then it will be sent there for you to pick up but if those two aren't possible for you then just apply for trv using copy of your certificate and it will fly (IT'S NOT COMPULSORY YOU INCLUDE YOUR TRANSCRIPT )

Hi guys,

Went to my bank today to make my Pre-Admission deposit but unfortunately I was unable to make the payment cos of some CBN rules with regards to banks not helping with that without a proper admission letter. Has anyone gone through this process? Please how do I get it paid asap? I know Zlatimi did his own last week, please I need you guys to help me. Thank you
Ask the school the forms of payment they accept and take that info to your bank, asking for people here to help with the payment? seems you haven't heard stories that touch the heart here before. Just be careful with things like this so you don't fall victim

Okay, that confirms my suspicisions....

Now are you ready to take my advice? I will be very blunt and harsh but if you can take it as a point in the right direction, it will stir you up and help you get the desired result.

At this very moment, I am afraid to tell you that you are NOT ready to proceed to Canada for further studies. Infact, from the way you write and react each time you respond to people's feedback, almost makes me doubt the sincerity of your stories. There are just too many loop holes in them. If you had a former classmate who went to school in USA, why didn't you ask him/her how they did it before coming here? That response you gave was rather uncalled for and shows immaturity on your part(P.s:..you know what todo about that...hint.. when wrong, do the right thing and a.p.o.l.o.g.i.s.e...). and you don't know what aCGPA is? ok what was your GPA when you stopped school in year 3?

Now to the good part. You are still young, so what I would advise you is this. Take these last 2 months of the year and read up all the parts of travel to canada and canada student thread. If you can't do all, at least start from part 9. This will help you get a full picture of what the process is like, courses to take, when and how to apply for school admission and student visa, etc. EE is the Express entry process by which people migrate to canada without going through school route. however this process is for experienced graduates. Minimum requirement is 1 year work and post secondary qualification like a diploma, OND, HND, etc..(read up).

However, if you still insist on going to school immediately, then you need to apply to an undergraduate program and begin afresh. Read up to find out more on this. If you are looking for someone to spoon feed you, then by all means get an agent. They are many around, even on this forum, looking for easy targets..and you are almost making it very easy for them. But beware, a lot of people have been burnt using agents to the extent of getting 5 year bans that even affected their immigration plans.

But if you can read up, show some sign that you have done some research, then come back here and ask for specific questions. The family here will readily assist you. We all want our fellow country man to succeed but some of our people who have gone ahead ..have spoilt a lot of things which is now reflecting negatively on students applications from Nigeria now. We want to prevent that from continuing.

whew...that is all from me. Ciao!
SHIKENA!!!

Hello House,

How long does it take for TRV for PhD applicants to be approved. I heard it doesn't take long? and for someone tht has been previously refused, and passed through background check and all, will it be quicker?
On cic site the processing time is for all applicants, so nothing like PhD or MSc or BSc segregation there. concerning your second question I think the vo will start afresh

Hello gurus in the house,

Please I was denied a US visiting visa in 2014 and now want to apply for TRV in Canada, I saw on one of the forms where one needs to state if there has been any refusal of visa by any country. Now to my question, is there any chance of that US visa denial affecting my TRV application?
Thank you all
Your previous denial won't affect your present application but make sure you state it that you have been denied US visa before

Please gurus I crave for your indulgence not to be angry but please bear with me...i Have read the other threads from 0 but I still get confused on this matter of funds....as for me ...my aunty is my sponsor as she has lots of millions in her account amounting to 60k in CAD. I am working but not earning much. And my company pays me salary by cheque so not much is reflecting in my personal bank account. My question is this..is it compulsory to show my personal bank account or just stick with that on my aunt only? please if anyone wants to reach me directly my email address is valenchigozie@gmail.com.
Thank you as I appreciate wonderful advice
You need to include your own statement of account since you work and have one. Please and please stop posting your email address here for people to contact you, not everyone on this thread is here to help you genuinely. Ask any question you have on this platform and someone will attend to it. NB: I want to believe one or two persons must have mailed you already...... LOL

But you clearly stated your main motive (which is not to study but to work there), how on earth do you think a vo will see this and still grant you permit? Well just be careful and stop saying things like that online. Just like @Mazi said, VOs are WATCHING with their 3D glasses

Asking questions that have been answered a thousand times isn't cool at all. You can search for some of these questions on Google or here on this thread (check the top or below the page to see "search"wink, that is if you purposely don't want to read previous pages. Please let's try and put in some work ourselves before asking others to assist. I rest my case

Thank you boss for your advice. Another contact I got from the school was telling me to drop 120k before he can do it which I angrily asked him if he is changing my 2.1 to First Class. I just want to confirm if the affidavit of fact will solve my problem as am going for MBA and has no intention of going further after that. More advice /suggestions will be appreciated.
Thank you
Lol! Tell him 120k is too small that you can go as high as 500k, he is not just a thief but a MAD man. Bro go for an affidavit and it will cost you #500 (FIVE HUNDRED NAIRA ONLY)......and it will work just fine. The affidavit should state that your school made a mistake on your DOB (state the wrong DOB) and let them know what the real one is...SHIKENA

I applied to western university for summer (may) intake. My application is a PhD program in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering.

I have B.Eng and M.Eng in Chemical Engineering with CGPA of 3.66 and 4.0 respectively. I have 2 international published research papers from my M.Eng thesis though it's not related in what I applied in western university but I believe it will serve as a research experience. I hold private tutorials in biochemical engineering for undergraduates of 2 universities.

I have been trying to get supervisors but I've not gotten any reply from any of them. The program co-ordinator encouraged me to apply and then secure supervisor at any time during the application process. I have communicated effortlessly to these supervisors but I've not gotten any reply. Not even a single reply. I'm worried.

Pls any advice?
Cc:Mazi . I think you should check out more schools offering your intended program cos it's not advisable to put all your eggs in one basket. Your profile looks good to me and very soon you will hear from them. @Mazi should have more to say on this

The reason why i am jabbing about this error is that, my intended course is related to my job and previous undergraduate program. I did B.Ed(management) and i am going for educational administration and leadership. Also i am a teacher so i cant just understand how purpose of visit will appear in my gcms notes.
Oh! sorry about thayt. you are going for MSc , right? What's your undergraduate grade if you are not going for MSc?

Bro you requested for your gcsm note cos you wanted the REAL reasons behind the delay, fund is the main reason as your sponsor's balance was low when you applied for trv, also purpose of visit (it means your intended program isn't in line with your previous course or your present job), travel history to me is just be the way. Concerning the "error" you have been talking about since, you should only take it up if the other reasons stated by the VO was WRONG.

You'll be better off if you go on jobberman and put up an offer for a Personal Assistant. When the assistant then gets you a list of good schools in the range of $5000, we can help with the application process.

Also, yes you get your refund usually without the application fee
Lol! Too hash bro

Evening Gurus in d house

I want to apply for a masters programme

Plz I need good schools in the range of almost 5000$ range for a semester.

Also if applied and refused visa, can one get refund payment back.

Prompt response will be appreciated
It will be hard to get school with that o but if you have good grade you can look for schools that can offer you funding and if lucky enough you won't pay a dime. Is it just $5k you have for everything or just your tuition? cos you should also consider your living expenses for at least a year ($10k) before embarking on the joyrney. Check memorial university of newfoundland. Best of luck

Ok, thank you for the reply. please for the imm form where one has to fill tuition, room and board fee am I to write the fee for the two years as my course is a two year course, or I write the fee for one year as stated on the acceptance letter.
One year will be enough but if you have "30 billion for your account" then you can put for the entire program (2years) Lol. On a lighter note, just 1 year will be enough

You need to file a motion to reopen based on error of fact. Ask them to reopen your case because it appears they are having identity crises, possibly mistaking you for someone else with name as yours who was denied visa. They are not even sure what they are talking about from their statement. Point all their mistakes out and respectfully appeal your case be reopened and visa granted so you can resume your studies. You have enough money, even paid full tuition, that is good. Now you need to concentrate in your SOP on showing a correlation between what you studied before or the field you are working now, with the one you want to study in Canada. Or if no correlation or progression, explain convincingly why you chose your new field. Best of luck!
That's a good point bro, try it let's see. Try to make them look incompetent (by saying you have been denied visa before when you have never applied in the past). I will be looking out for the result

Please house what does it mean when your supervisor says he is unable to secure funding for one.. but will fast track admission letter if one can self fund ..
it is clear bro, you supervisor can't get you scholarship now but if you can pay your tuition fee yourself then you are guaranteed admission. If you are capable of funding yourself then let him know so he can get your offer letter across to you asap. Best of luck

Hope you are going for MSc and not PGD? cos your undergraduate grade is good enough to get MSc .Also ensure your sponsor shows commitment by paying g your tuition fee and living expenses into your person account or directly to the school (tuition fee)
