A few etiquettes that could make for a great thread;
1. Always learn to appreciate other people's posts, even if they are not your "friend" - It makes them feel important and encouraged to come up with something more positive.
2. Try not to run people down on the platform - You will cause them to withdraw and will hardly come up with their objective views on issues.
3. Correct with love - When you see something you don't like from a member, you may send a pm or politely put them on the right track. Let's try to desist from public attack.
4. Try not to insult or use unpleasant languages on members - You expose yourself and other members of the thread to a barrage of foul languages and may turn the platform to a "combat ground".
5. Be quick to say sorry and apologize when you have erred - It helps to douse the tension which unsavory utterances might have created.
6. Minimize imposition of personal ideas or suggestions - Nobody has monopoly of knowledge. This one hardly happens here though.
7. Celebrate with those that celebrate and encourage those going through a rough patch in their pursuit - It's a subtle display of the spirit of brotherliness (and sisterliness ).
8. Cultivate a culture of humor and comic relief to the best of your ability - This journey on its own is already serious enough a business. Let's leave something behind that would make others want to come back to have a good laugh after a tough IELTS study/exam day, PoF hustle, or document gathering. We're adults but who says we can't play too?
9. Some have the gift of talking/typing and others the gift of reading - Whichever one you're good at, learn to contribute to the thread, even if it's just using a little emoticon. It makes people know that you appreciate the thread and its contributors. Don't just jump out of anonymity to announce PPR
No be lecture be this o. Just sharing thoughts that might help everyone here |

adespecial: Please does one university grade matters for this Canada pr, like having a third class and a PGD result Not at all. In fact, all things being equal, the third class degree plus a PGD places one in better stead on the PR journey than a first class graduate without any additional educational qualification . So fear not! (if that person is you) |

hifyty: Folks,
I have a testimony, we have passed our medicals, even though the CIC doc told us clearly, you would most likely be asked for further tests for your daughter. we give glory to God that is not happening. I dont know how God did it but he did it anyway. The good glitch that happened also moved our application into the IP2 gang.
Let me borrow the most popular phrase in here; It will end in praise!
Cheers Hi hifyty,
I am extremely happy at the breaking of this news after having read your touching story. The Lord will crown your perseverance and quest for a better life for your child with good success. I honestly wish I could meet you in person to share a hug (and drink). I've got so much love for people who go beyond the call of duty.
This journey will certainly end well for your family. Amen |

Bimz89: Good evening everyone. Please I want to submit my application next week but my passport is expiring in October. Do you think I should submit and include a letter of explanation that my passport cannot be renewed until 6 months to its expiration or wait till May to submit. And do they refuse people based on passport expiration? Please I need advice JESUSisable: LONG POST ALERT PLS!
STEP 2: Passport Requirements – Determine if you need to submit your passport(s)
· Please note that if you or your accompanying family members are permanent residents of the U.S.A and a holder of a passport which requires a visa to enter Canada, you are still required to submit your passport(s).
If you require a visa to enter Canada, then submit your passport(s):
· Please provide your passport or travel document and a passport or travel document for each accompanying family member. An accompanying family member must have his or her own passport or travel document.
· There must be at least two blank pages in your passport(s).
· Please note that permanent resident visas cannot be placed in Diplomatic, Official or Military passports or travel documents.
· All passports must be intact and not worn, torn or otherwise damaged; the laminate on the bio-data page must be securely attached. Each page must be securely affixed to the passport; there cannot be any loose pages.
· Ensure that your passport is valid for at least 12 months from the date of this letter. Hi @Bimz89. The bolded above should be of use to you. So I suppose you need to tarry a while and then renew your passport so as to play safe |

Thanks guys There's no need for birth certificates except you are trying to prove relationship with a Canadian PR sibling you claimed points for. Is that the case? |

mummytutu: Wrong. Lowest crs score draw for last year was 415, but skilled trades draw went below 400 sha. Note that circumstances are different now so please start exploring PNP options but also expect a miracle; i know i am #Team434 I thought we've moved away from this tone of corrections. Anyway, the lowest draw score last year was actually 413 but that shouldn't be an object of debate. |

JESUSisable: PLS MY GOOD PEOPLE AM HERE AGAIN OH!
Please I have an option to send my documents to either CVAC (which they specified is a preferred option in the mail) OR Embassy of Canada in Dubai.
I need your advice pls;
1) with me using Canadian Visa Application Center-CVAC i would have to pay service charge by raising bank draft in CAD dollars which my bank in Nigeria might not be processing. CVAC uses Aramex courier service.
2) I discovered Aramex courier service is in Lagos and so I could send the package to Embassy of Canada in Dubai with no extra fees attached.
Which of these offices will facilitate the smooth and fastest processing of my application? Cos i read that CVAC forwards the documents to the VO. So I was wondering the advantage of using CVAC over directly sending it to Embassy of Canada in Dubai seeing that the embassy noted that using CVAC is a preferred option in the PPR mail. You were given two options. If I were in your shoes, I'd go with the less stressful of the two options given, which would be the courier in this case. Either ways, you would've adhered to instructions and would be rewarded accordingly |

peaceful22: Just that the number of people with high score this year is really much, thats why i have doubt of crs ever going down. All that is required is a weekly back-to-back-to-back draws and watch wonders manifest. Until then, let me rejoice with them that rejoice |

jelmusboy: I stated in my PR application that my wife has BSc and MSc but were not evaluated, so we did not claim point for it. Now, I was asked to upload her certificates. She has BSc certificate but no MSc certificate. She left Nigeria before her graduation and up till now, she has not collected the certificate at UNILAG. However, she has "To whom it may concern" to show that she has finished the MSc program.
Should I upload the BSc certificate and MSc documents and probably write a LOE to explain why there is no MSc cert yet?
Need your input please I believe you're on point. Carry on as explained, even though I do not think an LOE is mandatory
Modified: But her education should actually go to personal history since no points were claimed for it |

Ethelia: Since none of us are IRCC agents, I don't think anyone can give you an authoritative answer on this. But personally, I don't think it will negatively impact the outcome of your application so long as you declare it upfront and in details (you will have to declare it anyway). The application will probably face a lot of scrutiny.
Let others weigh in I think I also align with your opinion.

CTOBY: Q3- I have about 4 yrs of work experience in my NOC 3131 A, but self employed for 2 yrs ( own a pharmacy) how do I show proof of employment as a business owner and a self employed pharmacist. If you can get a reference letter for your 4 years of work, why worry yourself with the 2 years of self employment when you already have the maximum points for work experience?
Q4- do I need to show proof of funds when entering profile in EE? No. You would only be required to show proof of fund when filling your eAPR. However, the funds must be available both when you apply and when (if) you are issued a permanent resident visa
Would like to know anyone who has been in my situation and was successful. Thanks See response above |

CTOBY: Hello every one. new member here.
Question 1- I once applied for canadian student visa in 2006 but was refused on the basis of not being a bonafide student. I was not allowed to appeal. Will this affect my chances when applying for PR? What do you mean by not being a bonafide student please? Was there a misrepresentation in your application back then? Well, I do not think that would adversely affect your present application but you need to make mention of that refusal where need be. |

Eilenora: so guys pls i need advise here:
My scores:
L 7.5 R 8.0 W 6.5 S 8.5
HUBBY'S SCORES:
L: 7.0 R: 6.5 W: 7.0 S: 8.5
scores right now with these results: 415, with me being principal applicant. with Hubby being the applicant its 401.
I have read that usually remarks are not more than .5 marks higher right. So if I request for a re-mark, and my scores change to 7 in writing, our score increases to 422, using hubby's current result.
I am thinking that I ask for a remark while hubby takes the exam again, so he scores higher, while my writing is hopefully bumped to 7. invariably, we score a much higher mark. The other alternative is for both of us to re-write the exam. Another fear is what if they mark downwards instead of upwards as I am hoping? Does that ever happen?
I have also read that during the period of remark which is about 8weeks, you are not allowed to use the results. this means that we cant even get into the pool till the remarking is completed. any chances of d draws dropping to 415 in 2 months? Apparently last year it dropped to 413-415 around May...
What do you guys think? Trying to weigh all my options I do not think you need to worry too much about your hubby's scores if he doesn't have a masters degree too. Rewrite the test and aim at improving on not just your writing but also listening. If you are able to hit an 8777, I believe your CRS would be good enough to earn you an ITA. I wish you the best in your next attempt. |
