So I have a setup of 3 pieces of 250w panels on a 1.5kva inverter and 2 batteries, but it doesn't charge fast enough with the panels, I figured that it needed more panels and someone is offering me a brand new 520 wats panel at a good price, however, I refused buying cos I read that joining panels of different wattage together is not a good idea, however, I went ahead to ask my installer if the panels can work together and to my shock, he says they will work fine. I am sceptical about it and don't trust his judgment on this one, so I decided to ask the professionals in the house, what are the pros and cons of joining panels of different wattage with such wide margin?

I'm asking because I placed an order for a product but mistakenly used the wrong address. I cancelled the order immediately I noticed. But I want to know if the refund process will be as smooth as the cancellation process.

Just pray the seller doesn't ship it. Most AE sellers have a knack for shipping items very fast when it's cancelled.

What are you thoughts on earthing DSTV connections?

I have found out that I need to earth the mast/pole on which the dish is mounted as well as the cable that brings the feed to the TV.

Can I do that with locally available materials?

Or will I have to import the stuff I have seen being used in places like the US?

By the way I just got wind of a man in Abuja who literally has to replace his TV and his DSTV decoder monthly due to this problem.

I have never had this problem, but I want to put in place all precautions.

My final move will be installing multiple thunder arrestors (at least 4) on my roof. Putting that off for the last due to the financial implications.

If the cost is not much of an issue, get an Indelec lightning arrestor

I received a call from Post office to come pick up with N5,000 , I have never heard of such a charge before.

She said it’s because the Item is EMS. Can anyone confirm if such a charge exist ?

Yet to see a package that is a bit bulky pass through EMS without a charge. Luckily for me when I got my Boombox, I got billed ₦1000 via post office but not from their EMS department.

What's the essence of buying 5kw inverter to load it 1kw?

If you want the equipment to last, don't do such loading. But anyways, who am I to dictate what load people should put on their inverter? If they like let them do 100%, like you pointed out we've got fans for that reason

He should be fine with a good 3kw inverter or max 5kw. He will be lucky if he gets every every within a 7m budget especially if he wants actual 30KWH capacity of lithium backup. DIY should fit the budget

Just curious, will you comfortably load an inverter to 50% capacity as a continuous load?

1) At least 10KW of solar panels

2) Not less than 10KVA or 8KW inverter

3) 200A charge controller

4) Minimum of 30KWH battery, I'll recommend lithium batteries
