Those that are using Jbd bms, what is an average MOS Temperature of the bms while charging the battery and does it have a stopping point.
I connected 150A Jbd bms to charge 48v 160ah lfp today. As the charging amp/watt was increasing, the bms MOS Temperature was increasing which is normal. At about 1800w going into the battery, I was seeing the MOS Temperature of about 36'C.
Unlike my Jk bms that the MOS Temperature does not pass 32'C even when I pumped 2500w into the battery.

My BMS do up to 39°C

LFP do explode. But it may not catch fire. Here is one that a friend had that was consistently overcharged without BMS

CATL is not superior to EVE cells, the issue is will you get the real EVE cells? Many sellers sell fake EVE cells. Better you buy an original CATL cells than a fake EVE. But if you are sure of your plug, EVE is better

I'm planning on getting a 5kwh lithium battery for my setup and have 3 battery options.

1. Deye lithium battery with EVE cells.
2. Dyness lithium battery with EVE cells.
3. Nruit lithium battery with CATL cells.

The seller recommended I go with the 3 option as he said they are made with good quality cells, but I'm not familiar with CATL cells.

Go for #3 since all their energy storage systems use CATL LFP cells.

It is supposed to both waterproof and can handle sun too. But I'll advise you mount it in such a way that the solar panel provides shade to the light from both sun and rain.

There's something I want to try

Use a power pack (e.g laptop charger, Destop CPU power pack, etc), connected to a cheap PWM chargeController (I inherited one from a client which costs less than 8,000 naira) SolarPanel input port, then connect the batttery bank to it. I presume it shouuld charge. and I get to select the charging profile join.

I am yet to TRY this but theoretically, seems to work. I am sharing this for anyone who would be bold enough to try it before I do. That way, you wouldn't always be PRESSed into spending more on chargers, buying costlier inverters just so as to be able to charge your batteries.

Funny my neighbour used to do this. He uses two 48V Huawei's charger which he connects in series to give output of about 106v which he connects to the PV side of his MPPT charge controller to charge his 48v lithium batteries pushing around 100A into his 16nos 320AH lithium cells.

He also uses one of the charger to charge his 24v batteries. So using solar charge controller that way works ..the charge controller cannot really tell which source the DC voltage is coming from ...as long as it sees PV voltage you'll get corresponding current pushed into the batteries.

So I've seen it work, but not on a PWM though. But it should work there too you just have to keep an eye on the input into the PWM controller as they often don't like high voltage input.

4. Your battery is only as good as the worst cell in your pack. If there is one bad cell it will bring the whole battery down.

I usually liken batteries in series to a chain links that made up a chain, if a particular link is weak, the chain is now as strong as that weakest link.

Eg I remembered when one of the cells in my 16s 48v ebike'$ battery got lower than others, this lead to the bms cutting off supply to the motor when I'm riding it. This is super annoying, thankfully my BMS has Bluetooth so it was easy to fish out the rogue cell and charge it separately and we are good to go again. Battery pack is still performing wonderfully till date.

I know their solar floodlight are not too bad, can't really say if it's the same with their inverter.

I have finally resolved never ever to buy any inverter named by or produced by SOROTEC again! It is truly SORROW TEC(HNOLOGY)

Sorry about your predicament, but I couldn't help but laugh out loud at the Sorrow Technology name. The truth is I've seen more DEAD Sorotec than working ones. I thought it's just a coincidence as I haven't personally used one.

That's a big load, you'll require a lot of solar panels.

The number of solar panels needed to go offgrid is dependent on the load you are running. The load is what drains the batteries. To calculate the quantity of solar panels that will recharge the batteries this load is needed.

All inverters may work with lithium, but not all inverters charging voltage profile is ok for lithium batteries.

These are the cells u sold to me in d 24v 200ah pack. Am very sure you recognized dem . Cells of different Ah capacity dat u mismatched to give me 200AH. In less than 3 months cells became swollen. Wen i took dem apart, u need to see all terminals with their thread worn out. . My load nor even reach 100w yet small rain go fall. I go de fear not to sleep 4 darkness even witih 300w*4 panels.The whole pack was dead on arrival. Na manipulation dat stuff take on. This one nor b matter of waking up bms. I knew how fustrated i became after spending so much on a pack i cant use.. i had to look 4 alternatives.. To even say dat i was ripped off is an understatement, this nigga showed me love n F****Ked my a***s. ... when i compared the price i bought the pack with that of others in recent times i go just shake my head. If na family problem u add put for gud.. e even pass nigerian problem.. Make i ask u something, the money never finish?

I always say that if you run a dubious business, you can only make a one time sale. That's it. No return buying, no referral, brutally honest bad reviews, etc

Lion BMS will allow each lifepo4 cell to charge to 4.2v, that's a death sentence

FYI these cells you uploaded looked older than some cells I bought in 2019

My MPPT solar controller screen shows the electricity generated during the day.

I have someone install a double 300watt panel i.e 600 watt but the electricity generated on average days is 1,500watt. The maximum I have get so far is 2,000 watt even on a very sunny day. Is this normal?

Energy is usually in WATT HOUR (WH) or KWh ...energy generated by a solar panel depends on the following factors

1) the insolation on the day in question

2) the load in use on the day

3) the state of charge (SOC) of the batteries, if the batteries are deeply discharged the previous night, the amount of energy generated will be obviously higher than that of the day with less discharge.

4) if I understand the 2000watt to mean 2kwh, a 600w panel generating that as a maximum in a day is not that bad. That is, if we assume an average sun hours of 6 hours, in theory the 600w should produce 3.6kwh or 3600wh. But we all know that due to a lot of factors including quality of solar panels, angle of inclination of solar panels compared to the sun position, temperature of the solar panels etc we can't possibly get this much energy out of the solar panel.

PowMr is a better controller compared with Yohako controller.

The only good thing NIPOST did for me after I caught on that my package was tampered with was not to update their tracking to show that the package was delivered. That way it helped in my dispute. Had I not opened that package in their presence, they would've have updated their tracking and it would've been a crazy uphill battle to convince AliExpress that my package wasn't delivered intact.

At the end of the day, someone in the NCS/NIPOST went home with an almost $100 item which they didn't pay a dime for!

Energy per 24 hours is 1.356kwh. So that means the power rating is 1356wh ÷24h = 56.5w

Most places I've seen MCCB used are in industrial applications where we have like 120KVA UPS and thereabouts. And also high battery bank application,eg like 24nos of 2v 1500AH batteries and the like. It's a rugged breaker for high current application.
